    Hi, I have an app killing feature in one of my apps but up to API 7 i always worked with restartPackage(String PackageName); but since API 8 its deprecated so I tried killBackgroundProcesses(String PackageName); but that didn't work either. Both are methods are in the ActivityManager class I hope someone can help me.

  • Can I pass a pointer to a superclass, but create a copy of the child?

    I have a function that takes a pointer to a superclass and performs operations on it. However, at some point, the function must make a deep copy of the inputted object. Is there any way I can perform such a copy? It occurred to me to make the function a template function and simply have the user pass the type, but I hold out hope that C++ offers a more elegant solution.

    I feel dumb for having been a web programmer for so long and not knowing the answer to this question, I actually hope it's possible and I just didn't know about rather than what I think is the answer (which is that it's not possible). My question is whether it is possible to make a CSS class that "inherits" from another CSS class (or more than one). For example, say we had: .something { display:inline } .else { background:red } What I'd like to do is something like this: .composite { .something; .else } where the ".composite" class would both display inline and have a red background

    If I use M-x shell and run the interactive Python interpreter, Emacs on Windows does not return any IO. When I discovered M-x python-shell, I regained hope. However, instead of running the interactive Python shell, I want to run a specific Python script that features an interactive CLI. (See Python's cmd module for details). Is there a way of launching a Python script in Emacs that is interactive? (stdout, stdin, stderr)

    Say I have an environment variable myvar myvar=\tapple\n when the following command will print out this variable perl -e 'print "$ENV{myvar}"' I will literally have \tapple\n, however, I want those control chars to be evaluated and not escaped. How would I achieve it? In the real world $ENV residing in substitution, but I hope the answer will cover that.

    When do I execute query COPY TO ... CSV, I create CSV file. BUt when open it column with names in excel that should be with national characters are not as it should be. So my question is, If it is possible within a sql query to change this encoding to utf8? Or something else? Because I want that new created CSV file to be as final product for user on web.     I already used some script to implement the shortcuts in my web page but i was wondering if could be possible to associate some combination not syncronic like Ctrl+X but more like a sequence typing 1..2..3 or any other combination to execute a script... lets assume this example: you have a long list with numbers: you could type 3..5...6, so you can go to the item 356 passing trough the item 3 then 35 then 356 more or less like when you type while selecting a select box i hope it was clear, id not easy to explain...
