  • jQuery: script remember values between times it is triggered?

    Hello there, I am writing an ajax script in jQuery. The script gets new or previous page from a php documents that returns HTML. If, located on page 1, I click next, the script IS able to find the next page number (page2), but when I click it AGAIN, the script again has to be able to find the next page number (page3) and at the minute it doesnt. I was wondering how I can save a variable between time a script is triggered, so that I can just + 1 to each time somebody clicks "next", and -1 when somebody clicks "previous".   • Session variable getting lost using Firefox, works in IE

    I am setting a Session variable in an HttpHandler, and then getting its value in the Page_load event of an ASPX page. I'm setting it using public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { HttpPostedFile file = context.Request.Files["Filedata"]; context.Session["WorkingImage"] = file.FileName; } (And before someone suggests that I check the validity of file.FileName, this same problem occurs if I hard-code a test string in there.) It's working just fine in IE, but in Firefox the Session Variable is not found, getting the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error in the following code: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string loc = Session["WorkingImage"].ToString(); } Has anyone encountered this problem - and hopefully come up with a means for passing the session variable?

  • Problem retrieving multiple instances of the same asp.net session variable

    I'm having problems with retrieving multiple instances of a session variable from an InProc session state. In the following code I persist a simple BusinessObject into a session variable on the Page_Load event. On the click of a button I try to retrieve the object back into 2 new declared instances of the same BusinessObject. All works great until I change one of the properties in the first instance, it changes the second instance as well. Is this normal behaviour? I would have thought as these were new instances they wouldn’t demonstrate static behaviour? Any ideas where I'm going wrong?     Hi, In my pursuit of a solution to another environment-variable/batch-file related problem, I have once again come across a problem I have visited before (but cannot for the life of me remember how, or even if I solved it). Say you have two BAT files (or one batch file and the command line). How can one pass an environment variable name to the other so that it can read the variable? The following example does not work: A.BAT: @call b.bat path B.BAT: @echo %%1% > A.BAT > %1 > B.BAT path > %1 It is easy enough to pass the environment variable name, but the callee cannot seem to use it. (I don’t remember if or how I dealt with this the last time it came up, but I suspect it required the less-than-ideal use of redirecting temporary BAT files and calling them and such.) Any ideas?     I am trying to learn PHP classes so I can begin coding more OOP projects. To help me learn I am building a class that uses the Rapidshare API. Here's my class: <?php class RS { public $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; function apiCall($params) { echo $baseUrl; } } ?> $params will contain a set of key pair values, like this: $params = array( 'sub' => 'listfiles_v1', 'type' => 'prem', 'login' => '746625', 'password' => 'not_my_real_pass', 'realfolder' => '0', 'fields' => 'filename,downloads,size', ); Which will later be appended to $baseUrl to make the final request URL, but I can't get $baseUrl to appear in my apiCall() method. I have tried the following: var $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; private $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; And even tried $this->baseUrl = $baseUrl; in my apiCall() methid, I don't know what the hell I was thinking there though lol. However, if I bind it to a variable: user=> (def apply-str (partial apply str)) #'user/apply-str user=> (-> ["1" "2" "3"] apply-str) "123" ...the code works as I intended it. I would assume that they are the same thing, but apparently that isn't the case. Can someone explain why this is to me?

I want that variable to be computed/evaluated once (the 1st time I call the function) and for any subsequent invocation, it is not evaluated anymore. How to do that?     Namely I have: Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData Environment.SpecialFolder.CommonApplicationData Environment.SpecialFolder.LocalApplicationData I am unclear as to were these point to in Windows XP and/or Windows Vista. What I found so far is that the ApplicationData points to the ApplicationData Folder for the current user in XP and the roaming application data folder in Vista. I would also like to know if there are general guidelines on when to use which.

  • Missing output when running system command in perl/cgi file

However, when I run on web server, the output is ++++++ ++++++ So $VAR is missing when passing in the web interface/browser. I know maybe the problem is $VAR is very long string. But anyway, is there anyway to solve this problem except writing the output to a file then retrieve it from browser? Thanks if you are interested in my question.

    Hi there, Been struggling with replacing a backslash by another symbol such as '.-.' just to indicate the position of backslashes as I could not send a string such as 'C\xampp\etc.' through url as GET variable so I thought I'd first replace the backslashes in that string by another symbol, then send through url, and then replace them back to backslashes in the PHP file that handles it. Though would there be a better way to send such strings through url? Because when I try a script such as: $tmp_name = preg_replace("\", ".-.", $_FILES['uploadfile']['tmp_name']); It turns out into a php error as \ is also used as delimiter.. Could anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advanced! Btw, if I'd be able to send a full array through url, this whole problem would be solved, but I don't think it's possible?

    I have a wizard control. When someone clicks a button within the wizard control I automatically advance to the next step (rather than forcing them to click next). However, this seems to cause the session state variable not to be saved. I've done some research and noticed that Response.Redirect does hard redirects that truncate page execution - and that you can add a false parameter to prevent this...what I'm wondering is if the wizard control is doing the same thing and if so, if I can add a parameter to this as well?     Whenever I open a Bash shell, my classpath is "someProgram". I know that adding an export entry to ".bashrc" changes my classpath, but I want to know where "someProgram" is being added to the classpath (it's not in ".bashrc"). Is there a way to track down where this is being set, or some typical spots I should be checking besides ".bashrc"? Details: I'm using Ubuntu 9.10.     I'm retrieving a row with php from mysql and it has fields like: name_en, name_es, name_de... I want to retrieve the right field base on my $lang variable (en, es, de...). If the $lang variable is 'es', I'd need to get $row['name_es'].
