Redirect a url to another url in IIS 7.5

I have no idea why this isn't working. I've tried creating map rules and then rewritng and redirecting the url. I've tried just redirecting it with a simple rewrite rule and no matter what, the only time I can get it to work is if I set the match url to match this regex .*. I'm trying to redirect webmail.example.com to mail.example.com. Seemed like it would have taken but a couple seconds; boy was I wrong. All day optimizer event....

I've recently taken over some of the responsibilities of Maria Colgan (also known as the "optimizer lady") so she can move onto supporting our new In Memory Database features (note her new twitter handle for that: https://twitter.com/db_inmemory ).To that end, I have two one day Optimizer classes scheduled this year (and more to follow next year!). The first one will be Wednesday November 20th in Northern California. You can find details for that here: http://www.nocoug.org/ .The next one will be 5,500 miles (about 8,800 km) away in the UK - in Manchester. That'll take place immediately following the UKOUG technical conference taking place the first week of December on December 5th. Making fonts render similarly across browsers

I am building a website for a client, and we had hoped to use plain text, not images in the navigation bar. The font we are using is Century Gothic (I believe that this font is available on the majority of PCs and Macs) The problem is, that on different browsers the font renders significantly differnt. In Chrome we got it looking the way we want, but in firefox the text is smaller and bolder. Aside from writing browser specific javascript to alter the font properties, are there any other options to standardize the way the fonts are rendered cross-browser. Perhaps some library or API? Maybe its a matter of being more specific in declaring font properties? Honestly I am stuck and need help.

Chicago Architects Group – Document Generation Architectures

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Chicago Architects Group presentation last night. It seemed like the weather has a way of keeping a large portion of the people who registered from making the meeting. There was some lively networking going on before and after the meeting. I enjoyed the questions that people had during the presentation. It helped to bring out some of the challenges with dealing with the OOXML and ODF standards from an architecture perspective. Out of memory on MATLAB

I'm trying to run a script on matlab_2011a, which calculate same means for a climatology of 50 years. When I started to run the script for all the years it worked fine until the iteration 20th, and then appeared the message: Out of memory. Type HELP MEMORY for your options. Then I used clear v1 v2 v3 ... to clear all the variables inside the function, also i used clear train because i saw it in another forum, and these with the modifications or not, I run again the script (since the 21th iteration), and the result is the same message, but curiously sometimes it run a year and then stop. Any ideas about solving this problem?, what I have to clean to run correctly? (in this matlab version there's not the command memory which maybe could help me).

With a little ingenuity an entire home office now fits inside a heavily modified IKEA work table. Ian, an IKEAHacker reader and Los Angeles area geek, explains the motivation for the build: I had to surrender my home office to make room for my new baby boy ;) I took an Ikea stainless steel kitchen “work table”, some Ikea computer tower desk trays, two steel tabletops, and two grated steel shelves to make an “office” that I could pack away into a closet. GPS feature big on mobile phones, oh yeah, they can make voice calls and text too

I removed nvidia driver and lshw -c video still shows nvidia

Today I tried to activate the newer experimental drivers and both 304 and 310 failed to even install. So I tried the regular nvidia driver 295.40 for the 20th time today (I had lag issues and was testing Nouveau vs Nvidia with dual monitor and Unity2D-3D) Within my tty1 I tried to remove nvidia: sudo apt-get remove nvidia-settings nvidia-current and purge too reboot, nothing. So when lshw -c video displayed nvidia as my driver I tried sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf since I read ubuntu would "reset" the GUI conf but reboot, nothing. So next I tried sudo jockey-text --disable=xorg:nvidia_current And nothing has worked...

Redirect a URL to another URL with IIS 7.5

Choice of Input / music / graphics libraries for an indie game - what factors should I consider?

I was wondering which tools (grapics-sound-input libraries, game engine libraries) that the following indie games used: Braid Superbrothers: S&S Super Meat Boy Limbo Fez (I know this one is XNA) Also, what is in common use in production games? My guess for game development in C++ is: -DirectX is most common for Windows games -SDL or SDL+OpenGL is most common for Linux games -OpenGL + Apple APIs are most common for OSX development What do most indie game projects use? If I wanted to casually build my own game for fun in C++ with the idea of possibly releasing it to Steam or something someday, is there anything I should be concerned about if I make it with DirectX for music/sound/input and build my own game engine? How do I implement Unreal-like object serialization?

Recently, I've been working on the core of my engine, and as I'm moving forward I find myself developing throwaway code to read files and simple data into the engine. This got me thinking about how I should implement a file management system. After a bit of googleing I came across the Unreal Package format, and boy does it look like the perfect one. I think it's good because the way how it allows you to separate different assets into different packages and allow something like a level to reference the different packages. I was just wondering, is this possible with C#? Because the built-in serialization API in .NET does not seem to support any form of this, only reading and writing to a single file.

Handheld device software - Handheld tuners?

Hey I've been looking around and really don't understand what software some of these company's use for their handheld devices. I've used a lot of Handheld Tuners (Cobb Accessport, Diablo Sport). I've gotten more and more knowledgable of programming and I'm really wanting to understand what software they use on these devices to have a graphical interface. And to hold all the files to flash over to the ecu. I'm just unsure how you would get basically all the components to work together (screen, buttons, memory) without having drivers installed. I could be totally wrong here on using the term drivers, but that's what I would like some help to get more knowledge on (only thing I've really found is making a handheld game boy from scratch,but that was using a emulator.). I've tried looking it up but can't really find a good write up or explanation anywhere I look. Just really would like to put a little device together and have a simple user interface and work from there. Thanks, Nathan

Movie Poster Colors Over Time

This spectrograph-like image records tens of thousands of movie posters over the course of a century, showing a steady shift towards posters that emphasize black, purple, and blue color tones. It’s a neat look at how the color tastes of an entire industry shift over time. Vijay Pandurangan had a disagreement with a friend about whether or not movie posters were becoming darker/bluer over time. Rather than simply agree to disagree, he whipped up a piece of code that downloaded and analyzed thousands of movie posters proving that, in fact, there was a slow and steady shift towards darker and bluer posters.
