  • Copying from istream never stops

    - by the_drow
    This bit of code runs infinitely: copy(istream_iterator<char>(cin), istream_iterator<char>(), back_inserter(buff)); The behavior I was expecting is that it will stop when I press enter. However it doesn't. buff is a vector of chars.

  • How to convert from string to a number, and vice-versa in C++?

    - by Igal
    DEAR All I'm new to the C++, so maybe someone can say what the proper way to write a function that gets a string char (represents number) and converts it to the integer number. For example : input : Sixty five, output: 65. Maybe it should use by cin.getline() ? Well, vice-versa is little bit simlper... Thanks for advance. Igal

  • Do While loop breaks after incorrect input?

    - by Daminkz
    I am trying to have a loop continue to prompt the user for an option. When I get a string of characters instead of an int, the program loops indefinitely. I have tried setting the variable result to NULL, clearing the input stream, and have enclosed in try{}catch blocks (not in this example). Can anyone explain to me why this is? #include <iostream> #include <vector> #include <string> using namespace std; int menu(string question, vector<string> options) { int result; cout << question << endl; for(int i = 0; i < options.size(); i++) { cout << '[' << i << ']' << options[i] << endl; } bool ans = false; do { cin >> result; cin.ignore(1000, 10); if (result < options.size() ) { ans = true; } else { cout << "You must enter a valid option." << endl; result = NULL; ans = false; } } while(!ans); return result; } int main() { string menuQuestion = "Welcome to my game. What would you like to do?"; vector<string> mainMenu; mainMenu.push_back("Play Game"); mainMenu.push_back("Load Game"); mainMenu.push_back("About"); mainMenu.push_back("Exit"); int result = menu(menuQuestion, mainMenu); cout << "You entered: " << result << endl; return 0; }

  • Inaccessible item using C++ inheritance

    - by shinjuo
    I am working on C++ project that uses inheritance. I seem to have an error in visual studio in the below file administrator.h. It says that salariedemploye:salary on line 17 is inaccessible and I am not sure why. Admin.cpp #include namespace SavitchEmployees { Administrator::Administrator( ):SalariedEmployee(), salary(0) { //deliberately empty } Administrator::Administrator(const string& theName, const string& theSsn, double theAnnualSalary) :SalariedEmployee(theName, theSsn),salary(theAnnualSalary) { //deliberately empty } void Administrator::inputAdminData() { cout << " Enter the details of the administrator " << getName() << endl; cout << " Enter the admin title" << endl; getline(cin, adminTitle); cout << " Enter the area of responsibility " << endl; getline(cin, workingArea); cout << " Enter the immediate supervisor's name " << endl; getline(cin, supervisorName); } void Administrator::outputAdminData() { cout << "Name: " << getName() << endl; cout << "Title: " << adminTitle << endl; cout << "Area of responsibility: " << workingArea << endl; cout << "Immediate supervisor: " << supervisorName << endl; } void Administrator::printCheck() { setNetPay(salary); cout << "\n___________________________________\n" << "Pay to the order of " << getName() << endl << "The sum of" << getNetPay() << "Dollars\n" << "______________________________________\n" << "Check Stub Not negotiable \n" << "Employee Number: " << getSsn() << endl << "Salaried Employee(Administrator).   • What is wrong in this c++ code?

    - by narayanpatra
    Why this coder do not show error #include <iostream> int main() { using namespace std; unsigned short int myInt = 99; unsigned short int * pMark = 0; cout << myInt << endl; pMark = &myInt; *pMark = 11; cout << "*pMark:\t" << *pMark << "\nmyInt:\t" << myInt << endl; return 0; } But this one shows : #include<iostream> using namespace std; int addnumber(int *p, int *q){ cout << *p = 12 << endl; cout << *q = 14 << endl; } #include<iostream> using namespace std; int addnumber(int *p, int *q){ cout << *p = 12 << endl; cout << *q = 14 << endl; } int main() { int i , j; cout << "enter the value of first number"; cin >> i; cout << "enter the value of second number"; cin >> j; addnumber(&i, &j); cout << i << endl; cout << j << endl; } In both the code snippets, I am assigning *pointer=somevalue. In first code it do not show any error but it shows error in the line cout << *p = 12 << endl; cout << *q = 14 << endl; What mistake I am doing ?

  • Comparing char for validation in C++

    - by Corey Starbird
    /* PROGRAM: Ch6_14.cpp Written by Corey Starbird This program calculates the balance owed to a hospital for a patient. Last modified: 10/28/13 */ #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <iomanip> #include <string> using namespace std; // Prototypes for In-patient and Out-patient functions. double stayTotal (int, double, double, double); // For In-patients double stayTotal (double, double); // For Out-patients int main() { char patientType; // In-patient (I or i) or Out-patient (O or o) double rate, // Daily rate for the In-patient stay servCharge, // Service charge for the stay medCharge, // Medication charge for the stay inTotal, // Total for the In-patient stay outTotal; // Total for the Out-patient stay int days; // Number of days for the In-patient stay // Find out if they were an In-patient or an Out-patient cout << "Welcome, please enter (I) for an In-patient or (O) for an Out-patient:" << endl; cin >> patientType; while (patientType != 'I' || 'i' || 'O' || 'o') { cout << "Invalid entry. Please enter either (I) for an In-patient or (O) for an Out-patient:" << endl; cin >> patientType; } cout << "FIN"; return 0; } Hey, brand new to C++ here. I am working on a project and I'm having trouble figuring out why my validation for patientTypeisn't working properly. I first had double quotes, but realized that would denote strings. I changed them to single quotes, my program will compile and run now, but the while loop runs no matter what I enter, I, i, O, o, or anything else. I don't know why the while loop isn't checking the condition, seeing that I did enter one of the characters in the condition, and move on to cout. Probably a simple mistake, but I thank you in advance.

  • Need advice about pointers and time elapsed program. How to fix invalid operands and cannot convert errors?

    - by user1781382
    I am trying to write a program that tells the difference between the two times the user inputs. I am not sure how to go about this. I get the errors : Line 27|error: invalid operands of types 'int' and 'const MyTime*' to binary 'operator-'| Line |39|error: cannot convert 'MyTime' to 'const MyTime*' for argument '1' to 'int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime*, const MyTime*)'| I also need a lot of help in this problem. I don't have a good curriculum, and my class textbook is like cliffnotes for programming. This will be my last class at this university. The C++ teztbook I use(my own not for class) is Sam's C++ One hour a day. #include <iostream> #include<cstdlib> #include<cstring> using namespace std; struct MyTime { int hours, minutes, seconds; }; int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime *t1, const MyTime *t2); long t1, t2; int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime *t1, const MyTime *t2) { return((int)t2-t1); } int main(void) { char delim1, delim2; MyTime tm, tm2; cout << "Input two formats for the time. Separate each with a space. Ex: hr:min:sec\n"; cin >> tm.hours >> delim1 >> tm.minutes >> delim2 >> tm.seconds; cin >> tm2.hours >> delim1 >> tm2.minutes >> delim2 >> tm2.seconds; DetermineElapsedTime(tm, tm2); return 0; } I have to fix the errors first. Anyone have any ideas??

  • lnk2019 error in very simple c++ program

    - by Erin
    I have tried removing various parts and building, but nothing makes the lnk2019 error go away, or even produces any normal errors. Everything is in the one file at the moment (it won't be later when it is finished). The program has three lists of words and makes a jargon phrase out of them, and you are supposed to be able to add words, remove words, view the lists, restore defaults, save changes to file, and load changes from file. #include "stdafx.h" #include <iostream> #include <string.h> using namespace std; const int maxlist = 20; string adj1[maxlist], adj2[maxlist], noun[maxlist]; void defaultlist(int list) { if(list == 1) { adj1[0] = "green"; adj1[1] = "red"; adj1[2] = "yellow"; adj1[3] = "blue"; adj1[4] = "purple"; int i = 5; while(i != maxlist) { adj1[i] = ""; i = i + 1; } } if(list == 2) { adj2[0] = "shiny"; adj2[1] = "hard"; adj2[2] = "soft"; adj2[3] = "spiky"; adj2[4] = "furry"; int i = 5; while(i != maxlist) { adj2[i] = ""; i = i + 1; } } if(list == 3) { noun[0] = "cat"; noun[1] = "dog"; noun[2] = "desk"; noun[3] = "chair"; noun[4] = "door"; int i = 5; while(i != maxlist) { noun[i] = ""; i = i + 1; } } return; } void printlist(int list) { if(list == 1) { int i = 0; while(!(i == maxlist)) { cout << adj1[i] << endl; i = i + 1; } } if(list == 2) { int i = 0; while(!(i == maxlist)) { cout << adj2[i] << endl; i = i + 1; } } if(list == 3) { int i = 0; while(!(i == maxlist)) { cout << noun[i] << endl; i = i + 1; } } return; } string makephrase() { int num1 = rand()%maxlist; int num2 = rand()%maxlist; int num3 = rand()%maxlist; int num4 = rand()%1; string word1, word2, word3; if(num4 = 0) { word1 = adj1[num1]; word2 = adj2[num2]; } else { word1 = adj2[num1]; word2 = adj1[num2]; } word3 = noun[num3]; return word1 + " ," + word2 + " " + word3; } string addword(string word, int list) { string result; if(list == 1) { int i = 0; while(!(adj1[i] == "" || i == maxlist)) { i = i + 1; } if(i == maxlist) result = "List is full.   • C++: Calling class functions within a switch

The error has a comment next to it above and is in case 2 in the main. Cheers guys.

  • stdout and key press

    - by Jack
    Hi, when in console, if I press a key, some interrupt controller sends code of that key to CPU, which looks into some table and than represent that keypress by printing some charracter to stdout. But, is keyboard sending an ASCII code of that key, or just some standardised code? Since there is so many languages and extra characters, OS must further translate its code into some character according to user selected scheme, I guess. I ask, becouse I am from Czech Republic, and we use some characters that do not exists in standart ASCII code. So I was thinking, if I enter this character into a console, and then print it, lets say in C++ using cin and cout, and I have set locale to Czech, stdin must actually send some non-ASCII code of the character I pressed to input stream. Am I right?

  • Young C++ student lacking direction

    - by ephaitch
    I was hoping for some direction or guidance regarding my C++ learning experience. I have now read two books, from cover to cover, twice. The first was Ivor Horton's Beginning Visual C++ 2010 and Starting out with C++ Early Objects (7th Edition). At this point and after several months I feel like all I know how to do in C++ is create a basic class, define some methods, use the STL, and read and write info to and from the console buffer (cin/cout). But simple things like saving data to a file, reading from a file, printing, connecting to an FTP site, doing some basic graphic manipulation on the screen (not even DirectX/OpenGL), and so-on I can't do or don't even know where to start. I feel I still haven't learned C++ thoroughly. I think you guys get where I'm going with this. I tried downloading SFML and compiling it in Visual C++ 2010 Professional. After quite a bit of time, I got it, but then I was lost. I followed the tutorials and one didn't work. I kept getting an error regarding a missing symbol and after an hour or so on Google, I couldn't figure it out. Can anyone point me in a direction of where one goes from here? I would imagine others have been at this point sometime during their early days.

  • Why does my token return NULL and how can I fix it?(c++)

    - by Van
    I've created a program to get a string input from a user and parse it into tokens and move a robot according to the input. The program is supposed to recognize these inputs(where x is an integer): "forward x" "back x" "turn left x" "turn right x" and "stop". The program does what it's supposed to for all commands except for "stop". When I type "stop" the program prints out "whats happening?" because I've written a line which states: if(token == NULL) { cout << "whats happening?" << endl; } Why does token get NULL, and how can I fix this so it will read "stop" properly? here is the code: bool stopper = 0; void Navigator::manualDrive() { VideoStream video(&myRobot, 0);//allows user to see what robot sees video.startStream(); const int bufSize = 42; char uinput[bufSize]; char delim[] = " "; char *token; while(stopper == 0) { cout << "Enter your directions below: " << endl; cin.getline(uinput,bufSize); Navigator::parseInstruction(uinput); } } /* parseInstruction(char *c) -- parses cstring instructions received * and moves robot accordingly */ void Navigator::parseInstruction(char * uinput) { char delim[] = " "; char *token; // cout << "Enter your directions below: " << endl; // cin.getline (uinput, bufSize); token=strtok(uinput, delim); if(token == NULL) { cout << "whats happening?" << endl; } if(strcmp("forward", token) == 0) { int inches; token = strtok(NULL, delim); inches = atoi (token); double value = fabs(0.0735 * fabs(inches) - 0.0550); myRobot.forward(1, value); } else if(strcmp("back",token) == 0) { int inches; token = strtok(NULL, delim); inches = atoi (token); double value = fabs(0.0735 * fabs(inches) - 0.0550); myRobot.backward(1/*speed*/, value/*time*/); } else if(strcmp("turn",token) == 0) { int degrees; token = strtok(NULL, delim); if(strcmp("left",token) == 0) { token = strtok(uinput, delim); degrees = atoi (token); double value = fabs(0.00467 * degrees - 0.04); myRobot.turnLeft(1/*speed*/, value/*time*/); } else if(strcmp("right",token) == 0) { token = strtok(uinput, delim); degrees = atoi (token); double value = fabs(0.00467 * degrees - 0.04); myRobot.turnRight(1/*speed*/, value/*time*/); } } else if(strcmp("stop",token) == 0) { stopper = 1; } else { std::cerr << "Unknown command '" << token << "'\n"; } } /* autoDrive() -- reads in file from ifstream, parses * and moves robot according to instructions in file */ void Navigator::autoDrive(string filename) { const int bufSize = 42; char fLine[bufSize]; ifstream infile; infile.open("autodrive.txt", fstream::in); while (!infile.eof()) { infile.getline(fLine, bufSize); Navigator::parseInstruction(fLine); } infile.close(); } I need this to break out of the while loop and end manualDrive because in my driver program the next function called is autoDrive.

  • C++, using stack.h read a string, then display it in reverse

    - by user1675108
    For my current assignment, I have to use the following header file, #ifndef STACK_H #define STACK_H template <class T, int n> class STACK { private: T a[n]; int counter; public: void MakeStack() { counter = 0; } bool FullStack() { return (counter == n) ? true : false ; } bool EmptyStack() { return (counter == 0) ? true : false ; } void PushStack(T x) { a[counter] = x; counter++; } T PopStack() { counter--; return a[counter]; } }; #endif To write a program that will take a sentence, store it into the "stack", and then display it in reverse, and I have to allow the user to repeat this process as much as they want. The thing is, I am NOT allowed to use arrays (otherwise I wouldn't need help with this), and am finding myself stumped. To give an idea of what I am attempting, here is my code as of posting, which obviously does not work fully but is simply meant to give an idea of the assignment. #include <iostream> #include <cstring> #include <ctime> #include "STACK.h" using namespace std; int main(void) { auto time_t a; auto STACK<char, 256> s; auto string curStr; auto int i; // Displays the current time and date time(&a); cout << "Today is " << ctime(&a) << endl; s.MakeStack(); cin >> curStr; i = 0; do { s.PushStack(curStr[i]); i++; } while (s.FullStack() == false); do { cout << s.PopStack(); } while (s.EmptyStack() == false); return 0; } // end of "main" **UPDATE This is my code currently #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <ctime> #include "STACK.h" using namespace std; time_t a; STACK<char, 256> s; string curStr; int i; int n; // Displays the current time and date time(&a); cout << "Today is " << ctime(&a) << endl; s.MakeStack(); getline(cin, curStr); i = 0; n = curStr.size(); do { s.PushStack(curStr[i++]); i++; }while(i < n); do { cout << s.PopStack(); }while( !(s.EmptyStack()) ); return 0;

  • How to find minimum weight with maximum cost in 0-1 Knapsack algorithm?

    - by Nitin9791
    I am trying to solve a spoj problem Party Schedule the problem statement is- You just received another bill which you cannot pay because you lack the money. Unfortunately, this is not the first time to happen, and now you decide to investigate the cause of your constant monetary shortness. The reason is quite obvious: the lion's share of your money routinely disappears at the entrance of party localities. You make up your mind to solve the problem where it arises, namely at the parties themselves. You introduce a limit for your party budget and try to have the most possible fun with regard to this limit. You inquire beforehand about the entrance fee to each party and estimate how much fun you might have there. The list is readily compiled, but how do you actually pick the parties that give you the most fun and do not exceed your budget? Write a program which finds this optimal set of parties that offer the most fun. Keep in mind that your budget need not necessarily be reached exactly. Achieve the highest possible fun level, and do not spend more money than is absolutely necessary. Input The first line of the input specifies your party budget and the number n of parties. The following n lines contain two numbers each. The first number indicates the entrance fee of each party. Parties cost between 5 and 25 francs. The second number indicates the amount of fun of each party, given as an integer number ranging from 0 to 10. The budget will not exceed 500 and there will be at most 100 parties. All numbers are separated by a single space. There are many test cases. Input ends with 0 0. Output For each test case your program must output the sum of the entrance fees and the sum of all fun values of an optimal solution. Both numbers must be separated by a single space. Example Sample input: 50 10 12 3 15 8 16 9 16 6 10 2 21 9 18 4 12 4 17 8 18 9 50 10 13 8 19 10 16 8 12 9 10 2 12 8 13 5 15 5 11 7 16 2 0 0 Sample output: 49 26 48 32 now I know that it is an advance version of 0/1 knapsack problem where along with maximum cost we also have to find minimum weight that is less than a a given weight and have maximum cost. so I have used dp to solve this problem but still get a wrong awnser on submission while it is perfectly fine with given test cases. My code is typedef vector<int> vi; #define pb push_back #define FOR(i,n) for(int i=0;i<n;i++) int main() { //freopen("input.txt","r",stdin); while(1) { int W,n; cin>>W>>n; if(W==0 && n==0) break; int K[n+1][W+1]; vi val,wt; FOR(i,n) { int x,y; cin>>x>>y; wt.pb(x); val.pb(y); } FOR(i,n+1) { FOR(w,W+1) { if(i==0 || w==0) { K[i][w]=0; } else if (wt[i-1] <= w) { if(val[i-1] + K[i-1][w-wt[i-1]]>=K[i-1][w]) { K[i][w]=val[i-1] + K[i-1][w-wt[i-1]]; } else { K[i][w]=K[i-1][w]; } } else { K[i][w] = K[i-1][w]; } } } int a1=K[n][W],a2; for(int j=0;j<W;j++) { if(K[n][j]==a1) { a2=j; break; } } cout<<a2<<" "<<a1<<"\n"; } return 0; } Could anyone suggest what am I missing??

  • Constructors taking references in C++

    - by sasquatch
    I'm trying to create constructor taking reference to an object. After creating object using reference I need to prints field values of both objects. Then I must delete first object, and once again show values of fields of both objects. My class Person looks like this : class Person { char* name; int age; public: Person(){ int size=0; cout << "Give length of char*" << endl; cin >> size; name = new char[size]; age = 0; } ~Person(){ cout << "Destroying resources" << endl; delete[] name; delete age; } void init(char* n, int a) { name = n; age = a; } }; Here's my implementation (with the use of function show() ). My professor said that if this task is written correctly it will return an error. #include <iostream> using namespace std; class Person { char* name; int age; public: Person(){ int size=0; cout << "Give length of char*" << endl; cin >> size; name = new char[size]; age = 0; } Person(const Person& p){ name = p.name; age = p.age; } ~Person(){ cout << "Destroying resources" << endl; delete[] name; delete age; } void init(char* n, int a) { name = n; age = a; } void show(char* n, int a){ cout << "Name: " << name << "," << "age: " << age << "," << endl; } }; int main(void) { Person *p = new Person; p->init("Mary", 25); p->show(); Person &p = pRef; pRef->name = "Tom"; pRef->age = 18; Person *p2 = new Person(pRef); p->show(); p2->show(); system("PAUSE"); return 0; }

  • VHDL gate basics

    Hello. I'm learning VHDL and I've come to a halt. I'd like to create a simple gate out of smaller gates (a NAND gate here). Here's the code: library IEEE; use IEEE.STD_LOGIC_1164.all; entity ANDGATE2 is port( x,y : in STD_LOGIC; z : out STD_LOGIC ); end ANDGATE2; architecture ANDGATE2 of ANDGATE2 is begin z <= x AND y; end ANDGATE2; library IEEE; use IEEE.STD_LOGIC_1164.all; entity NOTGATE1 is port( x : in STD_LOGIC; z : out STD_LOGIC ); end NOTGATE1; architecture NOTGATE1 of NOTGATE1 is begin z <= NOT x; end NOTGATE1; library ieee; use ieee.std_logic_1164.all; entity NANDGATE2 is port( x : in STD_LOGIC; y : in STD_LOGIC; z : out STD_LOGIC ); end NANDGATE2; architecture NANDGATE2 of NANDGATE2 is signal c, d: std_logic; component NOTGATE1 port( n_in : in STD_LOGIC; n_out : out STD_LOGIC ); end component; component ANDGATE2 port( a_in1, a_in2 : in STD_LOGIC; a_out : out STD_LOGIC ); end component; begin N0: ANDGATE2 port map(x, y, c); N1: NOTGATE1 port map(c, d); z <= d; end NANDGATE2; Here's the code from some tutorial I've been using as a template; it compiles with no problems. library ieee; use ieee.std_logic_1164.all; -- definition of a full adder entity FULLADDER is port ( a, b, c: in std_logic; sum, carry: out std_logic ); end FULLADDER; architecture fulladder_behav of FULLADDER is begin sum <= (a xor b) xor c ; carry <= (a and b) or (c and (a xor b)); end fulladder_behav; -- 4-bit adder library ieee; use ieee.std_logic_1164.all; entity FOURBITADD is port ( a, b: in std_logic_vector(3 downto 0); Cin : in std_logic; sum: out std_logic_vector (3 downto 0); Cout, V: out std_logic ); end FOURBITADD; architecture fouradder_structure of FOURBITADD is signal c: std_logic_vector (4 downto 0); component FULLADDER port ( a, b, c: in std_logic; sum, carry: out std_logic ); end component; begin FA0: FULLADDER port map (a(0), b(0), Cin, sum(0), c(1)); FA1: FULLADDER port map (a(1), b(1), C(1), sum(1), c(2)); FA2: FULLADDER port map (a(2), b(2), C(2), sum(2), c(3)); FA3: FULLADDER port map (a(3), b(3), C(3), sum(3), c(4)); V <= c(3) xor c(4); Cout <= c(4); end fouradder_structure; My code compiles with no errors, but with two warnings: # Warning: ELAB1_0026: p2.vhd : (85, 0): There is no default binding for component "andgate2".(Port "a_in1" is not on the entity). # Warning: ELAB1_0026: p2.vhd : (87, 0): There is no default binding for component "notgate1".(Port "n_in" is not on the entity).   • Split a Large File In C++

    - by wdow88
    Hey all, I'm trying to write a program that takes a large file (of any time) and splits it into many smaller "chunks". I think I have the basic idea down, but for some reason I cannot create a chunk size over 12,000 bites. I know there are a few solutions on google, etc. but I am more interested in learning what the origin of this limitation is then actually using the program to split files. //This file splits are larger into smaller files of a user inputted size. #include<iostream> #include<fstream> #include<string> #include<sstream> #include <direct.h> #include <stdlib.h> using namespace std; void GetCurrentPath(char* buffer) { _getcwd(buffer, _MAX_PATH); } int main() { // use the function to get the path char CurrentPath[_MAX_PATH]; GetCurrentPath(CurrentPath);//Get the current directory (used for displaying output) fstream bigFile; string filename; int partsize; cout << "Enter a file name: "; cin >> filename; //Recieve target file cout << "Enter the number of bites in each smaller file: "; cin >> partsize; //Recieve volume size bigFile.open(filename.c_str(),ios::in | ios::binary); bigFile.seekg(0, ios::end); // position get-ptr 0 bytes from end int size = bigFile.tellg(); // get-ptr position is now same as file size bigFile.seekg(0, ios::beg); // position get-ptr 0 bytes from beginning for (int i = 0; i <= (size / partsize); i++) { //Build File Name string partname = filename; //The original filename string charnum; //archive number stringstream out; //stringstream object out, used to build the archive name out << "." << i; charnum = out.str(); partname.append(charnum); //put the part name together //Write new file part fstream filePart; filePart.open(partname.c_str(),ios::out | ios::binary); //Open new file with the name built above //Check if near the end of file if (bigFile.tellg() < (size - (size%partsize))) { filePart.write(reinterpret_cast<char *>(&bigFile),partsize); //Write the selected amount to the file filePart.close(); //close file bigFile.seekg(partsize, ios::cur); //move pointer to next position to be written } //Changes the size of the last volume because it is the end of the file else { filePart.write(reinterpret_cast<char *>(&bigFile),(size%partsize)); //Write the selected amount to the file filePart.close(); //close file } cout << "File " << CurrentPath << partname << " produced" << endl; //display the progress of the split } bigFile.close(); cout << "Split Complete." << endl; return 0; } Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Help with Boost Grammar

    - by Decmanc04
    I have been using the following win32 console code to try to parse a B Machine Grammar embedded within C++ using Boost Spirit grammar template. I am a relatively new Boost user. The code compiles, but when I run the .exe file produced by VC++2008, the program partially parses the input file. I believe the problem is with my grammar definition or the functions attached as semantic atctions. The code is given below: // BIFAnalyser.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application. // // /*============================================================================= Copyright (c) Temitope Jos Onunkun 2010 http://www.dcs.kcl.ac.uk/pg/onun/ Use, modification and distribution is subject to the Boost Software License, Version 1.0. Hello (and thanks in advance) I'm in a bit of a quandry, I cant seem to figure out why I'm seg faulting. • Visual Studio 2010 Beta start without debugging Console wont stay open

    - by CousinVinny
    I want to keep the console (output) window open to view the output of the project I am working on. I have enabled the start without debugging option and added the button to the debugging toolbar, but alas it fails to keep it open nicely like in visual studio 2008. I have to add cin.getline() etc etc etc to get it to stay open, but I don't want to type it. Any suggestions as to alter it Visual Studio 2010 to keep it open, or any debugging tricks to make it easier to view output for longer than a flash. Visual Studio used to have a "Press any key to continue prompt" I want it back...
