  • 13.04 Ringtail USB installation overwrote my username

    - by barnhillec
    I had to use an .iso USB to upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 Ringtail. Great results, except the USB stick install app asked me to provide an identity so I provided the same one I used for 12.10 . Unfortunately it overwrote my other identity with a fresh one, so now I have no ownership of all my previous profiles, etc. A dumb mistake, but is there a way to take ownership of my previous user identity and merge it with the current?

  • Inserting variable into routes - map.resources :posts, :as => X - is this possible?

    - by bgadoci
    Ok, so I am working on a blog application of sorts. Thus far, it allows for a user to sign up for their own account, create posts, tags, comments, etc. I have just implemented the ability to use www.myapp.com/brandon to set @user to find by username and therefore correctly display the users information at each url. So when you go to www.myapp.com/brandon you see all Brandon's posts, tags, and comments associated with those posts, etc. Works great. I'm implementing this URL mapping through the routes.rb file by adding the following: map.username_link '/:username', :controller => 'posts', :action => 'index' And then just setting the @user variable in the PostController and corresponding views to find_by_username. Now the issue is this. Once at www.myapp.com/brandon when you click on a post title, it sends to myapp.com/posts/id without the username in the URL. How do I tell rails to replace the /posts with /username. Is it even possible to insert the user_username variable into this code? map.resources :posts, :as => [what goes here]

  • Should I map a domain object to a view model using an optional constructor?

    - by Byron Sommardahl
    I'd like to be able to map a domain model to a view model by newing up a view model and passing in the contributing domain model as a parameter (like the code below). My motivation is to keep from re-using mapping code AND to provide a simple way to map (not using automapper yet). A friend says the view model should not know anything about the "payment" domain model that's being passed into the optional constructor. What do you think? public class LineItemsViewModel { public LineItemsViewModel() { } public LineItemsViewModel(IPayment payment) { LineItemColumnHeaders = payment.MerchantContext.Profile.UiPreferences.LineItemColumnHeaders; LineItems = LineItemDomainToViewModelMapper.MapToViewModel(payment.LineItems); ConvenienceFeeAmount = payment.ConvenienceFee.Fee; SubTotal = payment.PaymentAmount; Total = payment.PaymentAmount + payment.ConvenienceFee.Fee; } public IEnumerable<Dictionary<int, string>> LineItems { get; set; } public Dictionary<int, string> LineItemColumnHeaders { get; set; } public decimal SubTotal { get; set; } public decimal ConvenienceFeeAmount { get; set; } public decimal Total { get; set; } }

  • Bing Map on Windows Phone - add click events to pushpins; display more details

    - by Will Gill
    I have a WP Phone app using a Bing Map control. I have an array of objects, and each object has a location. I iterate the array to place the pins on the map (see below). I have a touch event bound to each pin to allow the user to tap the pin to start an action. Now - I would like, on tap, to show information from the object that relates to that pin to be shown in a textbox. How can I retrieve the object from the array that corresponds to the pushpin that was tapped/clicked? foreach (wikiResult result in arrayResults) { double lat = double.Parse(result.Latitude, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); double lng = double.Parse(result.Longitude, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); statusTextBlock.Text = result.Latitude + " " + result.Longitude + " " + lat + " " + lng; GeoCoordinate d = new GeoCoordinate(lat, lng); Pushpin pin; pin = new Pushpin(); pin.Location = d; pin.Content = result.Name; pin.MouseLeftButtonUp += new MouseButtonEventHandler(pin1_MouseLeftButtonUp); myMap.Children.Add(pin); } void pin1_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { //display the content from the object in a text box } Many thanks in advance!

  • How to do "map chunks", like terraria or minecraft maps?

    - by O'poil
    Due to performance issues, I have to cut my maps into chunks. I manage the maps in this way: listMap[x][y] = new Tile (x,y); I tried in vain to cut this list for several "chunk" to avoid loading all the map because the fps are not very high with large map. And yet, when I update or Draw I do it with a little tile range. Here is how I proceed: foreach (List<Tile> list in listMap) { foreach (Tile leTile in list) { if ((leTile.Position.X < screenWidth + hero.Pos.X) && (leTile.Position.X > hero.Pos.X - tileSize) && (leTile.Position.Y < screenHeight + hero.Pos.Y) && (leTile.Position.Y > hero.Pos.Y - tileSize) ) { leTile.Draw(spriteBatch, gameTime); } } } (and the same thing, for the update method). So I try to learn with games like minecraft or terraria, and any two manages maps much larger than mine, without the slightest drop of fps. And apparently, they load "chunks". What I would like to understand is how to cut my list in Chunk, and how to display depending on the position of my character. I try many things without success. Thank you in advance for putting me on the right track! Ps : Again, sorry for my English :'( Pps : I'm not an experimented developer ;)

  • What is the simplest way to map a folder on the file system to a url in Tomcat?

    - by Simon
    Here's my problem... I have a small prototype app (happens to be in Grails hosted on AWS) and I want to add the ability of the user to upload a few (max 10) images. I want to persist these images on disk on the server machine, in a folder location which is outside my WAR. I realise that there is probably a super-scalable solution involving more web servers and optimised static asset serving, but for the approximately 100 users I am likely to get, it's really not worth the effort and cost. So, what is the simplest way I can have a virtual folder from my url map to a physical folder on disk? I sort of want... http://myapp.com/static to map to a folder which I can configure e.g. /var/www/static so I can then have in my code... <img src="/static/user1/picture.jpg"/> I don't particularly mind whether the resulting physical folders are directly browsable. Security will eventually be an issue, but it isn't at the start. So, what are my options? I have looked at virtual hosts on the apache site, but it feels more complicated than I need. I don't want to use the Grails static rendering plugins.

  • How to convert Vector Layer coordinates into Map Latitude and Longitude in Openlayers.

    - by Jenny
    I'm pretty confused. I have a point: x= -12669114.702301 y= 5561132.6760608 That I got from drawing a square on a vector layer with the DrawFeature controller. The numbers seem...erm...awfull large, but they seem to work, because if I later draw a square with all the same points, it's in the same position, so I figure they have to be right. The problem is when I try to convert this point to latitude and longitude. I'm using: map.getLonLatFromPixel(pointToPixel(points[0])); Where points[0] is a geometry Point, and the pointToPixel function takes any point and turns it into a pixel (since the getLonLatFromPixel needs a pixel). It does this by simply taking the point's x, and making it the pixels x, and so on. The latitude and longitude I get is on the order of: lat: -54402718463.864 lng: -18771380.353223 This is very clearly wrong. I'm left really confused. I try projecting this object, using: .transform(new OpenLayers.Projection("EPSG:4326"), map.getProjectionObject()); But I don't really get it and am pretty sure I did it incorrectly, anyways. My code is here: http://pastie.org/909644 I'm sort of at a loss. The coordinates seem consistent, because I can reuse them to get the same result...but they seem way larger than any of the examples I'm seeing on the openLayers website...

  • Calling a SLSB with Seam security from a servlet

    - by wilth
    Hello, I have an existing application written in SEAM that uses SEAM Security (http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.1.1.GA/reference/en-US/html/security.html). In a stateless EJB, I might find something like this: @In Identity identity; ... if(identity.hasRole("admin")) throw new AuthException(); As far as I understand, Seam injects the Identity object from the SessionContext of the servlet that invokes the EJB (this happens "behind the scenes", since Seam doesn't really use servlets) and removes it after the call. Is this correct? Is it now possible to access this EJB from another servlet (in this case, that servlet is the server side of a GWT application)? Do I have to "inject" the correct Identity instance? If I don't do anything, Seam injects an instance, but doesn't correctly correlate the sessions and instances of Identity (so the instances of Identity are shared between sessions and sometimes calls get new instances etc.). Any help and pointers are very welcome - thanks! Technology: EJB3, Seam 2.1.2. The servlets are actually the server-side of a GWT app, although I don't think this matters much. I'm using JBoss 5.

  • Google Maps: remember id of marker with open info window

    - by AP257
    I have a Google map that is showing a number of markers. When the user moves the map, the markers are redrawn for the new boundaries, using the code below: GEvent.addListener(map, "moveend", function() { var newBounds = map.getBounds(); for(var i = 0; i < places_json.places.length ; i++) { // if marker is within the new bounds then do... var latlng = new GLatLng(places_json.places[i].lat, places_json.places[i].lon); var html = "blah"; var marker = createMarker(latlng, html); map.addOverlay(marker); } }); My question is simple. If the user has clicked on a marker so that it is showing an open info window, currently when the boundaries are redrawn the info window is closed, because the marker is added again from scratch. How can I prevent this? It is not ideal, because often the boundaries are redrawn when the user clicks on a marker and the map moves to display the info window - so the info window appears and then disappears again :) I guess there are a couple of possible ways: remember which marker has an open info window, and open it again when the markers are redrawn don't actually re-add the marker with an open info window, just leave it there However, both require the marker with an open window to have some kind of ID number, and I don't know that this is actually the case in the Google Maps API. Anyone? ----------UPDATE------------------ I've tried doing it by loading the markers into an initial array, as suggested. This loads OK, but the page crashes after the map is dragged. <script type="text/javascript" src="{{ MEDIA_URL }}js/markerclusterer.js"></script> <script type='text/javascript'> function createMarker(point,html, hideMarker) { //alert('createMarker'); var icon = new GIcon(G_DEFAULT_ICON); icon.image = "http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=mm&chs=24x32&chco=FFFFFF,008CFF,000000&ext=.png"; var tmpMarker = new GMarker(point, {icon: icon, hide: hideMarker}); GEvent.addListener(tmpMarker, "click", function() { tmpMarker.openInfoWindowHtml(html); }); return tmpMarker; } var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas")); map.addControl(new GSmallMapControl()); var mapLatLng = new GLatLng({{ place.lat }}, {{ place.lon }}); map.setCenter(mapLatLng, 12); map.addOverlay(new GMarker(mapLatLng)); // load initial markers from json array var markers = []; var initialBounds = map.getBounds(); for(var i = 0; i < places_json.places.length ; i++) { var latlng = new GLatLng(places_json.places[i].lat, places_json.places[i].lon); var html = "<strong><a href='/place/" + places_json.places[i].placesidx + "/" + places_json.places[i].area + "'>" + places_json.places[i].area + "</a></strong><br/>" + places_json.places[i].county; var hideMarker = true; if((initialBounds.getSouthWest().lat() < places_json.places[i].lat) && (places_json.places[i].lat < initialBounds.getNorthEast().lat()) && (initialBounds.getSouthWest().lng() < places_json.places[i].lon) && (places_json.places[i].lon < initialBounds.getNorthEast().lng()) && (places_json.places[i].placesidx != {{ place.placesidx }})) { hideMarker = false; } var marker = createMarker(latlng, html, hideMarker); markers.push(marker); } var markerCluster = new MarkerClusterer(map, markers, {maxZoom: 11}); </script>

  • infoWindow position and click/unclick controls - controlling KML groundoverlays

    - by wendysmith
    I've made a lot of progress on this project (with earlier help with forum member Eric Badger, thanks!!) but I now need help with fine-tuning the infoWindow. Presently, you checkbox one of the historic maps choices -- the map appears as a ground overlay, and if you click it, you get info about the map which appears in a div (yellow area at the bottom). I want the info to appear in a more traditional window on the map, just to the center-right of the overlay map. It should have a close-option (X at the top corner?) Also, if you uncheck one of the boxes -- the overlay map disappears but the info window should close as well.  As you see my javascript skills are very limited. I would very much appreciate your help with this. Here's the test webpage: Here's the script: function showphilpottsmap(philpottsmapcheck) { if (philpottsmapcheck.checked == true) { philpottsmap.setMap(map); } else { philpottsmap.setMap(null); } } function showbrownemap(brownemapcheck) { if (brownemapcheck.checked == true) { brownemap.setMap(map); } else { brownemap.setMap(null); } } function showchewettmap(chewettmapcheck) { if (chewettmapcheck.checked == true) { chewettmap.setMap(map); } else { chewettmap.setMap(null); } } function showjamescanemap(jamescanemapcheck) { if (jamescanemapcheck.checked == true) { jamescanemap.setMap(map); } else { jamescanemap.setMap(null); } } var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow(); function openIW(FTevent) { infoWindow.setContent(FTevent.infoWindowHtml); infoWindow.setPosition(FTevent.latLng); infoWindow.setOptions({ content: FTevent.infoWindowHtml, position: FTevent.latLng, pixelOffset: FTevent.pixelOffset }); infoWindow.open(map); } var philpottsmap; var brownemap; var chewettmap; var jamescanemap; function initialize() { var mylatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(43.65241745, -79.393923); var myOptions = { zoom: 11, center: mylatlng, streetViewControl: false, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP, }; map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); //End map parameters brownemap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1851map_jdbrowne.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(brownemap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); chewettmap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1802mapwilliamchewett.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(chewettmap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); philpottsmap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1818map_phillpotts.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(philpottsmap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); jamescanemap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1842jamescanemapd.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(jamescanemap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); } Thanks very much!   • plotting multiple google maps to page

    - by Roland
    I'm trying to append more than one Google Map to a page. But it seems like I'm having some trouble. This would be the template I'm using to ( with Handlebars.js ) to create the same block more than once, about 50 times : <script type="text/x-handlebars-template"> {{#each productListing}} <div class="product-listing-wrapper"> <div class="product-listing"> <div class="left-side-content"> <div class="thumb-wrapper" data-image-link="{{ThumbnailUrl}}"> <i class="thumb"> <img src="{{ThumbnailUrl}}" alt="Thumb"> <span class="zoom-image"></span> </i> </div> <div class="google-maps-wrapper"> <div class="google-coordonates-wrapper"> <div class="google-coordonates"> <p>{{LatLon.Lat}}</p> <p>{{LatLon.Lon}}</p> </div> </div> <div class="google-maps-button"> <a class="google-maps" href="#">Google Maps</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="right-side-content"> <div class="map-canvas-wrapper"> <div id="map-canvas" class="map-canvas" data-latitude="{{LatLon.Lat}}" data-longitude="{{LatLon.Lon}}"></div> </div> <div class="content-wrapper"></div> </div> </div> </div> {{/each}} And I'm trying to append the map to the #map-canvas id. With the following block of code I'm doing the plotting : Cluster.prototype.initiate_map_assembling = function() { return $(this.map_canvas_wrapper_class).each(function(index, element) { var canvas = $(element).children(); var latitude = $(canvas).attr('data-latitude'); var longitude = $(canvas).attr('data-longitude'); var coordinates = new google.maps.LatLng(latitude, longitude); var options = { zoom: 9, center: coordinates, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP }; var map = new google.maps.Map($(canvas), options); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: coordinates, map: map }); }); }; This way I'm "looping" through all the parent classes of the id I'm trying to append the map to, but the map would only append to the first id. I tried to append it to all of the id's in other ways but with the same results. So what would you suggest me to do to make it work as I would expect it, append the map to each of the id's ?

  • IPhone App Signing: A valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keycha

    - by Ben Reeves
    I'm pulling my hair out over this. I just downloaded the iphone 3.0 SDK, but now I can't get my provisioning profiles to work. Here is what I have tried: Delete all provisioning profiles Delete login keychain Create new "login" keychain, make it default Create a new cert signing request Create new developer and distribution certs in the apple developer center Download and install them Download the WWDR cert and install it Create a new provisioning profile and double click it to install All the certificates report as valid, but xcode still won't recognize them. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Edit: I completely re-installed osx and from a fresh install installed the 3.0 sdk and still the same problem.

  • How to sort a Map<Key, Value> on the values in Java?

    - by Abe
    I am relatively new to Java, and often find that I need to sort a Map on the values. Since the values are not unique, I find myself converting the keySet into an array, and sorting that array through array sort with a custom comparator that sorts on the value associated with the key. Is there an easier way?

  • How can I map one to one relationship in Fluent NHibernate. I have tried everything else

    - by RM
    I have this table structure and would like to map it using Fluent Hibernate (subclass if possible). I cannot change the structure because the database has too many records and might cause major applications rework. It would be easier if the Id from Party table was a foreign key in person and organization table, but in the particular scenario the database has person and organization key as a foreign key in party table. Any help would be great. Party table Id PersonId OrganizationId Person table Id FName LName Organization table Id OrgName OrgDescription

  • Is using the Class instance as a Map key a best practice?

    - by Pangea
    I have read somewhere that using the class instances as below is not a good idea as they might cause memory leaks. Can someone tell me if if that is a valid statement? Or are they any problems using it this way? Map<Class<?>,String> classToInstance=new HashMap(); classToInstanceMap.put(String.class,"Test obj");

  • How does bundler work (in general)?

    - by MAP
    Hello, I'm pretty new to Ruby/Rails but I was taking a look at bundler and was wondering how it works exactly. Do you install a full set of gems like normal gem install XYZand then use the Gemfile to pull a certain subset of those gems for use with a specific application? Or do you not install gems normally anymore and just include them in the Gemfile and then do a bundle install to include them all in a bundle that is then used with your application? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer this, I'm just a little confused on what bundler's functionality is exactly. -- MAP

  • Eclipse CDT -- How to map Linux path's to Windows paths?

    - by SiegeX
    We have a C-code project written for a Linux environment but we also want the ability to view and edit the code on Eclipse for Windows and have the headers be resolved. The problem we are facing is that a lot of the headers are included with absolute paths in the Linux format such as: #include /path/to/custom/header.h What I would like to be able to do is have Eclipse CDT map /path/to/custom/ to C:\path\to\custom. Is this possible?
