  • How to embed XBase expressions in an Xtext DSL

    I am writing a simple little DSL for specifying constraints on messages, and Have been trying without success for a while to embed XBase expressions into the language. The Grammar looks like this: grammar org.xtext.businessrules.BusinessRules with org.eclipse.xtext.xbase.Xbase //import "http://www.eclipse.org/xtext/xbase/Xbase" as xbase import "http://www.eclipse.org/xtext/common/JavaVMTypes" as jvmTypes generate businessRules "http://www.xtext.org/businessrules/BusinessRules" Start: rules+=Constraint*; Constraint: {Constraint} 'FOR' 'PAYLOAD' payload=PAYLOAD 'ELEMENT' element=ID 'CONSTRAINED BY' constraint=XExpression; PAYLOAD: "SimulationSessionEvents" |"stacons" |"any" ; Range: 'above' min=INT ('below' max=INT)? |'below' max=INT ('above' min=INT)? ; When trying to parse a file such as: FOR PAYLOAD SimulationSessionEvents ELEMENT matrix CONSTRAINED BY ... I can't get it to work for ... = any kind of Arithmetic expression, although it works for ...= loop or if expression, or even just a number. As soon as I do something like '-5' or '4-5' it says Couldn't resolve reference to JvmIdentifiableElement '-', even though the Xbase.xtext Grammar looks like it allows these expressions. I don't think I'm missing any Jars, as it doesn't complain when I run the mwe workflow, but only when trying to parse the input file. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • How to put a background image on GridBagLayout

    I am trying to work with layout managers for the first time, and they are just kicking me in the teeth. I am trying to make a background image and then put buttons on top, using GridBagLayout, if there is a a better layoutmanager please do tell. As for trying to learn how to use layout managers, its very difficult and any learning references would also be much appreciated.     My slides say that: A recursive call should always be on a smaller data structure than the current one There must be a non recursive option if the data structure is too small You need a wrapper method to make the recursive method accessible Just reading this from the slides makes no sense, especially seeing as it was a topic from before christmas!     I'm currently writing a wrapper of the Spotify Metadata API to learn Scala. Everything's fine and dandy but I'd like to unit test the code. To properly do this I'll need to stub the Spotify API and get consistent return values (stuff like popularity of tracks changes very frequently). Does anybody know how to stub web calls in Scala, the JVM in general or by using some external tool I could hook up into my Maven setup? PS I'm basically looking for something like Ruby's FakeWeb...   • Automatic Hudson CI setup and plugin updates through apt?

    Hi! We've used Hudson for quite a while to implement a CI server with all the bells and whistles. The setup is quite straight forward, when installing from the provided RPMs and Debs, but through googling I haven't been able to figure out whether the plugins are installable using apt/rpm or some other package manager? The reason is that I would like to create a (meta)package for Ubuntu which would install and also update both Hudson and all the plugins through the normal upgrade mechanism. At the same time I could create a template setup for other projects, say JavaEE project needs git, cobertura and Chuck Norris plugins, while my Python project needs plugins XXX and YYY. Anybody got such a setup? As a workaround I figured setting up a number of Maven POMs, which would do the init, and later upgrades, but I feel this would require more scripting on the side, which I'm not very eager to do. Any other suggestions for this would also be appreciated.

  • Checked equivalent to IllegalArgumentException?

    I have a method that takes an enum as a parameter and returns some information dependent on that parameter. However, that enum contains some values which should not be handled, and should raise an error condition. Currently the method throws an IllegalArgumentException but I would like this to be a checked exception to force callers to catch it (and return gracefully, logging an error). Is there something suitable or should I create my own Exception subclass? I'm open to other patterns as well. A reasonable reaction would be that all values of the enum should be handled, but that isn't the case. When a new value is added to the enum, I want to make sure that this method does the right thing - alerting a human is preferable to using some default return value in this case. Thanks for any advice.

    Hi all, I am trying to create a Database Manager page which shows the database details on page load and updates the database settings when the user press submit I followed this tutorial and set the database settings in properties file. I managed to update the database settings in properties file programmatically. But essentially I am trying to emulate a ticket machine. The ticket machine maintains a list of tickets in the BlockingQueue q. Whenever a client adds a ticket to the machine, the machine also keeps track of the price of the last 5 tickets (ArrayList list)

  • Is it possible to use flashvars with JBoss?

    Hi, I'm part of a team developing a product using JSF 2.0 and I was asked to investigate the possibility of including FusionCharts free in the app. I have tried different ways of inserting a simple chart in a JSF page but with no luck. On of the methods involves using the elements OBJECT and EMBED but hhen I try to use them I get a "null source" error from JBoss. From what I could find online (through Google), I am under the impression that 'flashvars' isn't quite compatible with JBoss. Is anyone here able to confirm this? If this is the case, what workaround would you suggest me? Other ways I also found online didn't show the chart not even an error message. Thanks in advance.

  • Null Inner Bean with Spring IoC

I have a singleton bean definition like this: <bean id="exampleBean" class="com.examples.ExampleBean"> <property name="exampleBean2"> <bean class="com.examples.ExampleBean2" /> </property> </bean> where ExampleBean could be: public class ExampleBean { private ExampleBean2 exampleBean2; public ExampleBean() { } public ExampleBean2 getExampleBean2() { return exampleBean2; } public void setExampleBean2(ExampleBean2 exampleBean2) { this.exampleBean2 = exampleBean2; } } The problem is that, in certain conditions, the com.examples.ExampleBean2 class might not exist at runtime witch will cause an error when the IoC tries to instantiate exampleBean. What I need is to ignore this error from IoC and allow the exampleBean to be created but leaving the exampleBean2 property null. So the question is: is this possible in any way?     Hello, I have this question relating to Lucene. I have a form and I get a text from it and I want to perform a full text search in several fields. Suppose I get from the input the text "textToLook". I have a Lucene Analyzer with several filters. One of them is lowerCaseFilter, so when I create the index, words will be lowercased. Imagine I want to search into two fields field1 and field2 so the lucene query would be something like this (note that 'textToLook' now is 'texttolook'): field1: texttolook* field2:texttolook* In my class I have something like this to create the query. I works when there is no wildcard. String text = "textToLook"; String[] fields = {"field1", "field2"}; //analyser is the same as the one used for indexing Analyzer analyzer = fullTextEntityManager.getSearchFactory().getAnalyzer("customAnalyzer"); MultiFieldQueryParser parser = new MultiFieldQueryParser(fields, analyzer); org.apache.lucene.search.Query queryTextoLibre = parser.parse(text); With this code the query would be: field1: texttolook field2:texttolook but If I set text to "textToLook*" I get field1: textToLook* field2:textToLook* which won't find correctly as the indexes are in lowercase. I have read in lucene website this: " Wildcard, Prefix, and Fuzzy queries are not passed through the Analyzer, which is the component that performs operations such as stemming and lowercasing" My problem cannot be solved by setting the behaviour case insensitive cause my analyzer has other fields which for examples remove some suffixes of words. I think I can solve the problem by getting how the text would be after going through the filters of my analyzer, then I could add the "*" and then I could build the Query with MultiFieldQueryParser. So in this example I woud get "textToLower" and after being passed to to these filters I could get "texttolower". After this I could make "textotolower*". But, is there any way to get the value of my text variable after going through all my analyzer's filters? How can I get all the filters of my analyzer? Is this possible? Thanks

  • Getting the instance when Constructor#newInstance throws?

    I'm working on a simple plugin system, where third party plugins implement a Plugin interface. A directory of JARs is scanned, and the implementing classes are instantiated with Constructor#newInstance. The thing is, these plugins call back into register* methods of the plugin host. These registrations use the Plugin instance as a handle. My problem is how to clean up these registrations if the constructor decides to fail and throw halfway through. InvocationTargetException doesn't seem to have anything on it to get the instance. Is there a way to get at the instance of an exception throwing constructor? P.S.: It's typically strongly advised to users that the constructor not do anything, but in practice people are doing it any ways.
