    hello I just want to ask whether we can call a view method to a model? I know that we can call it on our controller in zend framework. Like if I want to call the url method of view on my controller I can call it like this $this->view->url(array(),''); and on the view we just can call it by $this->url(array(),''); But When I tried to call the same method on my model by $this->view->url(array(),''); it generates an error of call to undefined method url. Now I want to ask whether it is possible to call view method to a model? If yes then how? What Am I doing wrong. Thanks

  • Mysqli prepared insert statements always returning false

    I'm writing prepared statements that are supposed to insert data into a table, on a database that's been pre-selected in the variable $GLOBALS['mysqli']. The connection has been tested, and that's not the problem I'm having. I'm only running into trouble whenever my prepared statement involves INSERT INTO. I know the tablename, and field names are correct, but $stmt is ALWAYS false.     Let's say I have code like this: $dbh = new PDO("blahblah"); $stmt = $dbh->prepare('SELECT * FROM users where username = :username'); $stmt->execute( array(':username' => $_REQUEST['username']) ); The PDO documentation says The parameters to prepared statements don't need to be quoted; the driver handles it for you. Is that truly all I need to do to avoid SQL injections? Is it really that easy? You can assume MySQL if it makes a difference. Also, I'm really only curious about the use of prepared statements against SQL injection. In this context, I don't care about XSS or other possible vulnerabilities.

  • creating arrays in for loops.... without creating an endless loop that ruins my day!

    Hey Guys, Im starting with a csv varible of column names. This is then exploded into an array, then counted and tossed into a for loop that is supposed to create another array.     Let's say I have the following structure: abstract class Hand {} class Rock extends Hand {} class Paper extends Hand {} class Scissors extends Hand {} The goal is to make a function (or a method) Hand::compareHands(Hand $hand1, Hand $hand2), which would return the winning hand in a rock-paper-scissors match. That would be very easy with a bunch of ifs, but the point is to have a more robust structure, that's relying on polymorphism rather than on procedural code. P.S. this is done in actual production code, if someone is asking. This isn't some sort of challenge or homework. (It's not really rock-paper-scissors, but you get the point).

  • One regular expression to match parts in various positions

    Hi all, I'm trying to parse a DSN (from a Symfony application) using regular expressions, in order to link with a secondary application, but using the same database. The DSN I currently have is: mysql:dbname=my_db_name;host=localhost with a regex of: /^(\w+):(dbname=(\w+))?;?(host=(\w+))?/ (using preg_match()). This matches OK, but fails in my test environment because the DSN elements are switched around, thus: mysql:host=localhost;dbname=my_testdb_name I could just switch them round, yes :-) but I'm sure that extraction of the host and dbname parts from both DSNs is possible with a single regular expression, and I'd like to be able to enhance my knowledge at the same time ;-) Is there a way I can do this?

    I'm currently writing a TYPO3 extension which is configured with a list of tt_content UID's. These point to content elements of type "text" and i want to render them by my extension. Because of TYPO3s special way of transforming the text you enter in the rich text editing when it enters the database, and again transforming it when it is rendered to the frontend, i can not just output the database contents of the "bodytext" field. I want to render these texts as they would usually get rendered by TYPO3. How do I do that?

  • Moved X-cart site to Sub Directory - Need Help setting up Redirects

    I recently moved an x-cart site from a root directory to a sub directory, and also built a new Wordpress site under the root directory. The problem I am having is that I am trying to figure out a redorect combo that will show the search engines that the product pages are now under the sub directory (/store) but do not want the search engines to exclude the brand new site under the Root directory. I was thinking that if I could just have redirect any .html file (all of the product pages link to .html pages) that it would redirect to the same page just under the sub directory. The reason I cannot do everything one by one is because there are about 50k+ products that would need be changed. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advanced!

    Hi all I've inherited a Joomla 1.5 site and I am trying to find a Joomla component that will let me add a signup/prizedraw page where people can also recommend the compo to a friend in the one form. Basically 1 - email to go out to our existing database asking them to recommend a friend for the chance to win x prize 2 – they are directed to the form on the website where they enter their details for the prize draw and also have the option to enter a few friends email addresses 3 – the recommender is entered into the draw (signed up), while the recommended friends get a princes square email saying ‘you have been recommended by....to receive exclusive offers etc etc.. click here to enter.   • mysqli query not working when variable inserted

    Hi Everyone, I need an extra pair of eyes! I have a super-simple query: $result = $mysqli->query("SELECT post_id FROM blog_posts WHERE post_uri = 'the-test-post' LIMIT 1"); $row = $result->fetch_array(); and this gives me the post_id. However, if I insert a variable for post_uri, the result is empty. Ways I tried of which none worked: $result = $mysqli->query("SELECT post_id FROM blog_posts WHERE post_uri = '".$post_uri."' LIMIT 1"); $result = $mysqli->query("SELECT post_id FROM blog_posts WHERE post_uri = ".$post_uri."     We need a caching solution that essentially caches data (text files) anywhere from 3 days up to a week based on user preferences and criteria. In this case memory based caching does not make sense to us. We were referred to MemcacheDB however I also thought of some NO SQL solutions. Our current application uses RDMS (MYSQL) and I guess it makes sense to use MemcacheDB however NOSQL does appeal as it is something more on the horizon. However we have not deployed a production level application under NOSQL and the beta stuff does not settle well with management/investors. Any how what are your thoughts and how would you address it?     I have a grid of a variable number of elements. Say 5 images per row and a variable number of images. I need to determine which column (for lack of a better word) each image is in... i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. In this grid, images 1, 6, 12 and 17 would be in column 1 while 4, 9 and 15 would be in column 4. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 What I am trying to do is apply a background image to each element based on it's column position.   • Batch adding attribute to attribute sets

    I have a Magento installation with around 60 attribute sets. I need to add a new attribute to each of the attribute sets. There doesn't seem to anyway of doing this in the admin control panel. I am sure I can work it out by manually entering the correct fields into the database, but is there a way of doing this through the API or through the Import / Export profiles? Any suggestions would be gladly received.
