  • How to unset delegate on UIView setAnimationDelegate: call?

    - by morticae
I am receiving crash reports that appear to be from a UIView animation calling a delegate that has been dealloced. Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x334776f6 objc_msgSend + 18 1 UIKit 0x31c566c4 -[UIViewAnimationState sendDelegateAnimationDidStop:finished:] 2 UIKit 0x31c565d2 -[UIViewAnimationState animationDidStop:finished:] 3 QuartzCore 0x30045a26 run_animation_callbacks I am setting the current view controller as the delegate for animations using the following pattern: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; ... [UIView commitAnimations]; My question is, how do I set that delegate reference to nil in my dealloc method? Is there some way to retain a reference to an animation? Or fetch animations in progress?

  • Differentiating Between UITouch Objects On The iPhone

    - by Jasarien
Hey guys, I'm trying to differentiate between two (or more) UITouch objects on the iPhone. Specifically, I'd like to know the order in which the touches occurred. For instance, in my -touchesBegan:withEvent: method I get an NSSet of UITouch objects. Now I can find out how many touches there are, but, which object represents which finger? I notice the timestamp property on UITouch - is this what I'm looking for? I see how that would be useful to obtaining the last or first touch - providing the touches don't mutate... Therein lies my problem. I can use the timestamp to single out the latest touch, but then the touch that occurred first moves, and IT becomes the latest touch... At the end of this exercise, I'd like to be able to implement the "pinch" gesture to zoom in or out, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • UISearchDisplayController not working when created in code??

    - by Nick Bedford
I'm working on a tab bar application and one of the tabs has a UISearchDisplayController hooked up to a UISearchBar. It's all connected up in the NIB and is working. When I tap the search bar, the Scope and Cancel buttons fly in etc, and the search delegate updates the results table correctly. However, I'm trying to implement the same code in the viewDidLoad message instead of the NIB, however when I delete the search display controller from the NIB and uncomment my code to create the same controller in the function, it doesn't work. It's as if there's some fundamental connection not being made so that all my search delegate functionality isn't being called. Here's my working NIB version of the Search Display Controller. It's hooked up to the search bar, the UINavigationController subclass (MASearchController) and the root view of that is hooked up as the searchContentsController. Now this is what you would expect to do in code to create the same, right? What I'm doing is leaving the UISearchBar in the NIB to eliminate one piece of the puzzle at a time in code. // [MASearchController viewDidLoad] UISearchDisplayController *searchController = [[[UISearchDisplayController alloc] initWithSearchBar:searchBar contentsController:[[self viewControllers] objectAtIndex:0]] autorelease]; [searchController setDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDataSource:self]; I've checked all objects at run time and they all check out. Essentially I've deleted the search display controller from the NIB and then put in the code to create it in the viewDidLoad message. Why would this not work? The search keyboard comes up but none of my search and button animation functionality work???

  • NSOperationQueue bug with dependencies

    - by Daniel
I am using NSOperation and NSOperationQueue for performing a sequence of operations, all dependent on each other (2 on 1, 3 on 2, etc...). I set the dependency after I create the operations. I am encountering problems when the queue completes: the program crashes in the _release part of the code, apparently when the NSOperations are getting released. Note that they all get released at the end by the queue, because it is only after the very last one which depends on the second last one, which depends on etc... that they can be released. If I remove any dependency, the code runs fine. If I change waitUntilFinished: to NO, it crashes, if it is YES, it does not. I have isolated the problem to the following code which does not use any of my custom classes. NSOperation by default is a class that does absolutely nothing. Yet, this still crashes when all operations have completed. Therefore, it appears I am not using NSOperationQueue properly but can't see what is wrong. I am running on 10.9 and I have noticed that in general Maverick 10.9 is much more sensitive to these issues than 10.8. I call this method from the main Thread with a Menu item: - (void) testOperations:(id)object { NSOperationQueue* queue = [ [ NSOperationQueue alloc ] init ]; NSMutableArray* array = [ NSMutableArray array ]; for ( int i = 0; i < 10000; i++) [ array addObject: [[[ NSOperation alloc ] init ] autorelease ] ]; for ( int i = 1; i < [ array count ]; i++) [[ array objectAtIndex:i ] addDependency:[array objectAtIndex:i-1]]; // remove this and no crash [ queue addOperations: array waitUntilFinished:NO ]; // Change to YES, no crash [ queue autorelease ]; // or release, it does not make a difference, in fact leaking the memory makes no difference: the code crashes when the queue is removing the NSOperations } This will crash every single time with: bool objc::DenseMapBase , objc_object*, unsigned long, objc::DenseMapInfo, true: (EXC_BAD_ACCESS) The full stack is: #0 0x9104d81b in objc::DenseMapBase<objc::DenseMap<objc_object*, unsigned long, true, objc::DenseMapInfo<objc_object*> >, • NSUndoManager grouping problem?

    - by anonymous
    I'm working on a barebones drawing app. I'm attempting to implement undo/redo capability, so I tell the view's undoManager to save the current image before updating the display. This works perfectly (yes, I understand that redrawing/saving the entire view is not incredibly efficient, but to solve this problem before attempting to optimize the code). However, as expected, when I 'undo' or 'redo', only the minute change is reflected. My goal is to have the whole finger stroke undone/redone. To do that, I told the undoManager to [beginUndoGrouping] in the [touchesBegan] method, and to [endUndoGrouping] in [touchesEnded]. That works for a bit, but after drawing a few strokes, the app crashes, and gdb exits with exc_bad_access. I'm very grateful for any insight you can give me. - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { mouseDragged = YES; currentPoint = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self]; UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(drawingImageView.bounds.size); [drawingImageView.image drawInRect:drawingImageView.bounds]; CGContextRef ctx = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetLineCap(ctx, kCGLineCapRound); CGContextSetLineWidth(ctx, drawingWidth); [drawingColor setStroke]; CGContextBeginPath(ctx); CGContextMoveToPoint(ctx, previousPoint.x, previousPoint.y); CGContextAddLineToPoint(ctx, currentPoint.x, currentPoint.y); CGContextStrokePath(ctx); [self.undoManager registerUndoWithTarget:drawingImageView selector:@selector(setImage:) object:drawingImageView.image]; drawingImageView.image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); previousPoint = currentPoint; }

  • How to overlay view over navigation controller bar?

    - by 0SX
I've sorta got a little problem. I'm trying to add a popoverview to my app but part of the popoverview get's hidden by my navigation controller bar. How can I make my popoverview overlay over top of the navcontrollerbar? Here's an image of the problem: http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/4056/viewn.jpg Here's my code I'm working with: - (IBAction)onButtonClick:(UIButton *)button { if (self.popoverController) { [self.popoverController dismissPopoverAnimated:YES]; self.popoverController = nil; [button setTitle:@"Show Popover" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else { UIViewController *contentViewController = [[WEPopoverContentViewController alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStylePlain]; self.popoverController = [[[WEPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:contentViewController] autorelease]; [self.popoverController presentPopoverFromRect:button.frame inView:self.view permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionDown animated:YES]; [contentViewController release]; [button setTitle:@"Hide Popover" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } } Is there anyway to make this popover above the navigation controller bar? Here is the full source code what I'm working with https://github.com/werner77/WEPopover Hopefully someone knows how to fix this problem, Thanks in advance.

  • How to get the same UITableViewCell layout as in the Address Book app?

    - by Romain
Hi, I currently have a custom UITableViewCell which contains a few labels, and an image. The "main" label is used to display people's names. Currently, I'm styling it in bold text. What I'd like to do (to gain some space and readability), is to mimic the Address Book app cell style, that is: first name in light text, and family name in bold text. Is there a way to do this using the same UILabel? Or, should I use 2 different UILabels? How should I layout them, without knowing their sizes? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  • How to troubleshoot deallocation of object in uitableview?

    - by 4thSpace
I have a table view with tall cells. About 300 in height. The cells are custom and have an associated nib. In cellForRowAtIndexPath, I access an object in an array using indexPath.row. The object has properties, which I assign to labels on the custom cell. This works fine for the first two cells. Once I scroll enough for the third cell to get created, the app crashes. I have NSZombieEnabled set and here is the output: 2010-04-19 21:48:13.360 MyApp[54463:207] *** -[CALayer release]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xfc4e50 (gdb) continue 2010-04-19 21:48:18.382 MyApp[54463:207] *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0xfc4e50 of class '_NSZombie_CALayer' does not implement methodSignatureForSelector: -- trouble ahead 2010-04-19 21:48:18.383 MyApp[54463:207] *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0xfc4e50 of class '_NSZombie_CALayer' does not implement doesNotRecognizeSelector: -- abort (gdb) continue Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. • How to update a detailView in a splitViewController?

    - by pikebu
Hello, I'm trying to update a detailView in a splitViewController. This is what I try: //Get the application delegate AppDelegate *delegate = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; //Get the masterViewController MasterViewController *master = [delegate.splitViewController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0]; This seems to work fine so far. Then I try to update a label in the detailViewController by doing this: master.detailViewController.myLabel.text = "someText"; But this doesn't work. (ignore the missing at sign in front of the "someText" - I have it, but it seems it's not allowed to put it in this forum.) So how is the right way to access the outlets of in the detailView? Thanks for help.

  • I just don't get AudioFileReadPackets

    - by Eric Christensen
I've tried to write the smallest chunk of code to narrow down a problem. It's now just a few lines and it doesn't work, which makes it pretty clear that I have a fundamental misunderstanding of how to use AudioFileReadPackets. I've read the docs and other examples online, and apparently I'm just not getting. Could you explain it to me? Here's what this block should do: I've previously opened a file. I want to read just one packet - the first one of the file - and then print it. But it crashes on the AudioFileReadPackets line: AudioFileID mAudioFile2; AudioFileOpenURL (audioFileURL, 0x01, 0, &mAudioFile2); UInt32 *audioData2 = (UInt32 *)malloc(sizeof(UInt32) * 1); AudioFileReadPackets(mAudioFile2, false, NULL, NULL, 0, (UInt32*)1, audioData2); NSLog(@"first packet:%i",audioData2[0]); (For clarity, I've stripped out all error handling.) It's the AFRP line that crashes out. (I understand that the third and fourth argument are useful, and in my "real" code, I use them, but they're not required, right? So NULL in this case should work, right?) So then what's going on? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • NSOperation and UIKit problem

    - by Infinity
Hello guys! I am doing my download with an object which was inherited from NSOperation. I have read the documentation and when my operation finished I must call the [self.delegate performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(operationDidFinish:) withObject:self waitUntilDone:YES]; method. It needs to be called on the main thread, because the UIKit is not thread safe and the documentation says this in these non thread safe frameworks cases. In the delegate method I am drawing a pdf or an image, but because it is drawn on the main thread the User Interface is very laggy until the drawing is finished. Maybe can you suggest me a good way to avoid this problem?

  • ConnectionKit & iPhone SDK

    - by Wilco
I'm still getting my feet wet with the iPhone SDK, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to get the ConnectionKit framework working for an iPhone app. I know it was developed for the desktop OS, so I'm not sure what sort of dependencies it has and whether or not it could be shoehorned into the iPhone OS. In my case, I would like to use its FTP functionality, though having access to this entire framework could prove useful for future projects as well. Any ideas or experience trying this? In case it helps, here's the official ConnectionKit site: http://opensource.utr-software.com/connection/

  • OCUnit testing an embedded framework

    - by d11wtq
I've added a Unit Test target to my Xcode project but it fails to find my framework when it builds, saying: Test.octest could not be loaded because a link error occurred. It is likely that dyld cannot locate a framework framework or library that the the test bundle was linked against, possibly because the framework or library had an incorrect install path at link time. My framework (the main project target) is designed to be embedded and so has an install path of @executable_path/../Frameworks. I've marked the framework as a direct dependency of the test target and I've added it to the "Link Binary with Libraries" build phase. Additionally I've add a first step (after it's built the dependency) of "Copy Files" which simply copies the framework to the unit test bundle's Frameworks directory. Anyone got any experience on this? I'm not sure what I've missed.

  • How to directly store SQLite data in XCode?

    - by Justin
Hi guys: Searched on here and got some vague answers, so I thought i'd rephrase the problem to get some clearer answers- Right now I have an SQL Lite db that reads/parses information from a pre-formatted .txt file. When I open the app, there is a slight 'lag' as the iDevice parses the info, then gets fetched for the iDevice. I'm just wondering if there's any way to just 'save' all the information directly in the xCode so there's no lag/fetch time? Thank you.

  • Texture2D problem

    - by Anders Karlsson
I have a problem that is driving me crazy, I want to write a number of texts on the screen using Texture2D however I only seem to be able to write the first one. If I individually write one of the labels it works but not if I write all of them, only the first label is displayed. Let me show some code: -(void)drawText:(NSString*)theString AtX:(float)X Y:(float)Y withFont:(UIFont*)aFont { // set color glColor4f(1, 0, 0, 1.0); // Enable modes needed for drawing glEnableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); Texture2D* textTexture = [[Texture2D alloc] initWithString:theString dimensions:viewSize // 320x480 alignment:UITextAlignmentLeft font:aFont]; glBlendFunc(GL_SRC_ALPHA, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); [textTexture drawInRect:CGRectMake(X,Y,1,1)]; glDisableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); [textTexture release]; } When I call this drawText once it seems to display the text properly, but if I call it a second time nothing seems to be displayed. Somebody has an idea what it could be? The states like GL_BLEND and GL_TEXTURE_2D have been enabled in the view setup function. In the Texture2D the dimensions are 512x512 as I pass the whole screen to function. If I don't pass that the text gets enlarged and fuzzy. I am a bit uncertain about that parameter. TIA for any help.

  • Change Sprite Anchorpoint without moving it?

    - by Oscar Gomez
I am trying to change my Sprite anchor point so that I can rotate over a 0.0f,0.0f anchorpoint. At first my object is rotation at the default anchor point (0.5f,0.5f). However later on I need it to rotate over a 0.0,0.0 AnchorPoint. The problem is I cannot change the anchor point and change the position accordingly, so it stays on the same position, without the object appearing to quickly move and reposition to its original point. Is there a way I can set the anchor point and the position of my Sprite at once, without it moving at all?. Thank you. -Oscar

  • Aquatic Prime on 10.6?

    - by Kevin
Hello, I have 2 applications that I use with Aquatic Prime. One is an application just with the Aquatic Prime framework, and the other is an application that I've been working on that has been incorporated with the Aquatic Prime framework. The first application I mentioned before has its SDK set to 10.5 with the architecture to 32-bit. The second application I made has its SDK that is set to 10.6 (which it has to since I need NSRunningApplication) and its architecture to 32-bit. Now my question is, whenever I debug my first application it works perfectly fine, but with my second it gives me this interrupted error right after Running. What's going wrong? I've tried doing some breakpoints like "objc-exception-throw" but all it says is stopped at breakpoint 1. I need 10.6 in my application, but I also need Aquatic Prime. Can anyone help me solve this problem?
