  • Updating the MSI for a Project in Visual Studio 2008.

    In reference to the post below, where it says I should increase the version number for older versions to be replaced by newer ones. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/40603/msi-installer-fails-without-removing-a-previous-install What I find is, just changing the version number didn't do the job. I had to change the product code also, which I got an option to change through a Message Box just after changing the Version Number. Is this how it's supposed to be?

    Did any one have luck recently register Visual studio 2008 express C# product? Look like, I would have to reformat my computer and install every thing all over again. I un-installed it and installed VS2008 express again but it will not start because it demands registration. When I click the register button, the website launches and hour glass spins forever. It appears that MS Express edition registration site may not be working. Please help..

    Would having a nice little feature that makes it quicker to write code like Automatic Properties fit very nicely with the mantra of VB.NET? Something like this would work perfect: Public Property FirstName() As String Get Set End Property UPDATE: VB.NET 10 (coming with Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0) will have Automatic Properties.     Are the REST for ASP.NET MVC bits automatically included with MVC 2, or do you need to download/install/use the REST for ASP.NET MVC bits separately? Specifically, I'm referring to the REST for ASP.NET MVC download here: http://aspnet.codeplex.com/releases/view/24471#DownloadId=79561 I want to use REST for ASP.NET MVC for the automatic json/xml serialization based on the incoming request's accepted content type.     Hi all, Two rows in the my database have the following data: brand | product | style ================================================= Doc Martens | Doc Martens 1460 Boots | NULL NewBalance | New Balance WR1062 SG Width | NULL Mininum word length is set to 3, and a FULLTEXT index is created across all the three columns above. When I run a search for IS BOOLEAN matches for +doc in the index, I get the first row returned as a result. When I search for +new, I get no results. Can someone explain why? Thanks.

    It seems like it should be very simple to specify that the h:messages generated by JSF should be styled using jQueryUI's nice ui-states. But sadly I can't make it fit. It seems that the jQueryUI states require several elements (div,div,p,span) in order to make it work.   • How do I display the validation which failed in my Rails unit test?

    Summary: Failed unit tests tell me which assert (file:line) failed, but not which validation resulted in the failure. More info: I have 11 validations in one of my models. Unit testing is great, whether I run `rake test:units --trace' or 'ruby -Itest test/unit/mymodel_test.rb'. However, despite the fact that it tells me exactly which assert() failed me, I am not told which validation failed. I must be missing something obvious, because I can't ask Google this question well enough to get an answer. Thanks :)

    Hi, I've set django filebrowser's debug to True and wrote the extension restrictions in the model. pdf = FileBrowseField("PDF", max_length=200, directory="documents/", extensions=['.pdf', '.doc', '.txt'], format='Document', blank=True, null=True) In django admin it shows correctly with debug info. Directory documents/ Extensions ['.pdf', '.doc', '.txt'] Format Document But when I call the filebrowser, it allows all file extensions to be uploaded. How can I restrict filebrowser to upload only certain filetypes that I want? Thanks everyone
