  • Google Docs viewer in IE

    Hey all, I've searched high and low for a solution, but can't find one. I'm using Google Docs Viewer to view PDF files. It's a great tool, but I can't seem to get it working in Internet Explorer (7 or 8). All my images come up as a 'missing' icon. If I view the file externally, it seems to load fine and it will start working (I'm assuming because the images are being cached). The document is being displayed in an iframe and works in all other browsers. Has anyone come across a solution to get it to work in IE? If not, is there an alternative that can display PPT and PDF files? Thanks

    Hey, I'm sending out an email using codeigniter's built in library. All I'm trying to do is send a bolded string, but instead of rendering the tags, it is printing them. What I have: <html> <head> </head> <body> <b>Donkey</b> </body> </html> That is, character for character, the email I'm getting. Why aren't the tags rendering? Thanks for your help!

  • jQuery plugin: Colorpicker

    Hey all, I'm using this colorpicker (http://www.eyecon.ro/colorpicker) and am trying to capture the hex value so that I can use it on the server side to store the selected color. If you check out the link provided, I'm using the last option: $('#colorSelector').ColorPicker({ color: '#0000ff', onShow: function (colpkr) { $(colpkr).fadeIn(500); return false; }, onHide: function (colpkr) { $(colpkr).fadeOut(500); return false; }, onChange: function (hsb, hex, rgb) { $('#colorSelector div').css('backgroundColor', '#' + hex); } }); My problem is that I can't seem to get the hex value from it...I've tried simply calling the name of the input to get its value, but it won't work (when you click away to make the colorpicker disappear, the input changes to 'style="display:none;"' so I can't get anything from it. Then, I tried pulling the value using some simple jQuery calls, but got nothing... Please help....

    Hey I am looking for theory, algorithms and similar for how to compare music. More specifically, I am looking into how to dupecheck music tracks that have different bitrates or perhaps slightly different variations (radio vs album version), but otherwise sound the same. Use cases for this include services such as Grooveshark, Youtube, etc. where they get a lot of duplicate tracks. I am also interested in text comparisons (Britney Spers vs Britney Spears, how far they deviate, etc.) although this is secondary and I already have some sources to go on in this area. I am mostly interested in codec-agnostic comparison techniques and algoritms (assuming a "raw" stream), but codec-specific resources are appreciated. I am aware of projects such as musicbrainz.org, but have not investigated it further, and would be interested if such projects could be of help in this endeavor.

    Hey I have a problem getting my head around how custom GWT event Handlers work. I have read quite a bit about the topic and it still is some what foggy. I have read threads here on Stackoverflow like this one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/998621/gwt-custom-event-handler.Could someone explain it in an applied mannar such as the following. I have 2 classes a block and a man class. When the man collides with the block the man fires an event ( onCollision() ) and then the block class listens for that event. Thanks

  • Memory Issues When DOM Parsing A Large XML File on Android Devices

    Hey awesome SO users, I have an Android application that parses an XML file for users and displays results in a much more mobile friendly format. The app works great for most users, but some users have lots and lots of data and the app crashes on them because it runs out of memory. Is there any way I have a DOM style XML parser quit parsing data after a certain amount of parsing? I only need the first 30 or so elements so it would make the application much more efficient. I'd like to use a SAX or pull parser instead, but the XML I'm parsing is not valid and I have no control over it. Unless anyone has some good SAX solutions that let me parse messy, invalid XML, I think DOM is the only way to go. Thanks for reading!

  • Getting my ip address

    Hey! I have a computer on a small network, so my ip is 192.168.2.100. I am trying to get my real ip. I download the no-ip client but that just seems like a lot of trouble for such a simple thing. I created this php script that got http://www.ip-adress.com/ page and retrieved the ip it gave me. Is there a simpler way? Either using C, WSH or something. Or if there is an easier way in php please tell me. When I get the ip I'll uploaded it to my ftp site so that I can see the ip from work.

  • MYSQL Event to update another database table

    Hey All, I have just taken over a project for a client and the database schema is in a total mess. I would like to rename a load of fields make it a relationship database. But doing this will be a painstaking process as they have an API running of it also. So the idea would be to create a new database and start re-writing the code to use this instead. But I need a way to keep these tables in sync during this process. Would you agree that I should use MYSQL EVENT's to keep updating the new table on Inserts / updates & deletes?? Or can you suggest a better way?? Hope you can advise !! thanks for any input I get

    Hey, I've tried to update jQuery to its latest version on a system I'm working and I'm having this issue: I have a file that posts data to a .php: $.post( 'ajax_Save.php', { id: [$('#service_id').val()], number: [$('#number').val()] }, function(data){ ... }); On ajax_Save.php var_dump($_POST) gives: array(26) { ["id"]=> array(1) { [0]=> string(5) "18204" } ["number"]=> array(1) { [0]=> string(5) "18250" }... With jQuery version 1.2.2 the result is: array(26) { ["id"]=> string(5) "18204" ["order_number"]=> string(5) "18250" Which is OK. Any clues? Thx

  • Insert rows into MySQL table while changing one value

    Hey all- I have a MySQL table that defines values for a specific customer type. | CustomerType | Key Field 1 | Key Field 2 | Value | Each customer type has 10 values associated with it (based on the other two key fields). I am creating a new customer type (TypeB) that is exactly the same as another customer type (TypeA). I want to insert "TypeB" as the CustomerType but then just copy the values from TypeA's rows for the other three fields. Is there an SQL insert statement to make this happen? Somthing like: insert into customers(customer_type, key1, key2, value) values "TypeB" union select key1, key2, value from customers where customer_type = "TypeA" Thanks- Jonathan

    Hey Guys Ive used the ObjectBindingDatasource to bind to a class Ive called "ReportViewModel" which contains properties such as List Companies {get; set;} List Managers {get; set;} in its constructor Im just calling a method to populate with dummy data Managers = new ReportDataRepository().GetManagers(); Companies = new ReportDataReposiroty().GetCompanies(); ... When i create the new Datasource , it shows the ReportViewModel class with the Lists under it. I expand the Companies object and attempt draging and dropping fields onto the report designer and it works. Though doesnt allow me to drag and drop for any other List. Any guidance would be really appreciated.

  • Don't want to JSON serialize the whole list of classes

    Hey, I've got a IList of Sites in my application and Site has a large amount of properties. I'm wanting to convert this list to JSON to be used in a dropdownlist similar to this var sites = SiteRepository.FindAllSites(); return new JsonResult() { Data = sites, JsonRequestBehavior = JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet }; the problem I have is that I only want to use the id and name properties of the site class. I was thinking a way round this would be to use an 'adaptor' class that would then only expose these two properties and I would then serialize that. The problem I have is I want to make the class generic so that it can handle any list of objects. Has anybody come across a similar situation and solved it?

    Hey, I am currently deleveloping a algorithm to decide wheather or not a frame is voiced or unvoiced. I am trying to use the Cepstrum to discriminate between these two situations. I use MATLAB for my implementation. I have some problems, saying something generally about the frame, but my currently implementation looks like (I'm award of the MATLAB has the function rceps, but this haven't worked for either): ceps = abs(ifft(log10(abs(fft(frame.*window')).^2+eps))); Can anybody give me a small demo, that will convert the frame to the power cepstrum, so a single lollipop at the pitch frequency.     Hey guys ! i'm fairly new at web development scene and i was wondering if you guys can help me break up the pros and cons of using python django vs asp.net mvc besides the maturity level of its framework. I have intermediate experience with JAVA. As of right now, i'm leaning towards python but i just wanted to make sure i am making the right choice. I find myself limited with books available on asp.net web developments. I am aware that there is the storefront example on the official asp.net site. However, that tutorial was a little hard for me to follow. I've done a research around and was hoping python could be my next available choice. There are more tutorials available online for python anyways. What do you guys think??

    Hey, I'm very new to linq and lamba expressions. I'm trying to walk a collection, and when I find an item that meets some criteria I'd like to add that to another separate collection. My linq to walk the collection looks like this (this works fine): From i as MyCustomItem In MyCustomItemCollection Where i.Type = "SomeType" Select i I need each of the select items to then be added to a ListItemCollection, I know I can assign that linq query to a variable, and then do a for each loop adding a new ListItem to the collection, but I'm trying o find a way to add each item to the new ListItemcollection while walking, not a second loop.     Hey guys I know that using the Doctrinebundle in Symfony2 it is possible to instantiate multiple DB connections under Doctrine... $connectionFactory = $this->container->get('doctrine.dbal.connection_factory'); $connection = $connectionFactory->createConnection(array( 'driver' => 'pdo_mysql', 'user' => 'foo_user', 'password' => 'foo_pass', 'host' => 'foo_host', 'dbname' => 'foo_db', )); I'm curious if this is the case if you are using PURELY Doctrine though?, I've set up Doctrine via Composer like so... { "config": { "vendor-dir": "lib/" }, "require": { "doctrine/orm": "2.3.4", "doctrine/dbal": "2.3.4" } } And have been looking for my ConnectionFactory class but am not seeing it anywhere?     Hey, what are the usage scenarios for these kinds of virtual hosting ? Name Based - typical tomcat virtual hosting, one HOME instance with many contexts, each as an individual host IP based / port based - multiple instances of tomcat ( how is it with performance and memory consuption?) running on IP aliases (virtual IPs) for one network adapter, usually behind http apache server that can run name based virtual hostings. Otherwise I can't figure out how would I forward requests in iptables/firewall based on IP address, which is just one. How is IP based virtual hosting done as to Tomcat and multiple instances ? I'd like to hear some usage scenarios from your experience. How are you running your applications. Cause there are applications having it's own modified classloader and they are developed in a way to run alone withing a tomcat instance. Then there are trivial applications which can run within one instance without problems. Many thanks

    Hey, I've run into a strange problem regarding default buttons in master pages and IIS7 rewrite module. All my content pages have default buttons set in the code-behind (on prerender), or they are in panels on the aspx page. This works fine on my local machine and on the production server. However, when I enable IIS7 URL Rewrite, the default button is always to the one in the master page. protected void LoginButton_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e) { Button btnDefault = sender as Button; this.Page.Form.DefaultButton = btnDefault.UniqueID; } That's how I set my default button in the code-behind. I'm not sure what the rewrite module could be doing. Thanks for any help

  • Using LINQ to query database through a proxy server of some kind?

    Hey All Sorry for using (perhaps) the wrong lingo, but my question may be clearer if you view this diagram as you read it. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13256/DIAGRAM.PNG Our client is requiring us to adhere to the server configuration (poorly) diagrammed in the above image. The web server is accessible over port 80 and is where our web application is hosted - a second firewall permits this web server to access a second server which in turn is the only server permitted to access the database server. My question is: How do I deploy a web application that uses LINQ-to-SQL in this environment? Is there a way to proxy my LINQ queries through the app server so that the database connection goes through that server? This is uncharted territory for me, as we always have had access to the DB server directly from our web server in the past. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Mustafa

  • MySql: Select all entries with count...

    Hey guys quick question, I have a query that I want to count all entries it finds, and select all so when I use while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ it will list all entries. The problem I am encountering is that while, all the entries are successfully counted and the right number is listed, only the latest entry is select and listed when I echo $row['title']. If I delete , COUNT(*) as total then it selects all but I was wondering if it was possible to use count and select *. I was wondering if anyone knew what I am doing wrong? SELECT *, COUNT(*) as total FROM new_messages WHERE username='$session->username

  • Problems with Linked List in C

    Hey everyone, I am new to C and I am working on an XOR linked list for a project. I have most of the code done, but I can't seem to get the delete function of the list to work properly. It seems able to delete some numbers, but not any number you pass into the function. Could anyone experienced with C take a look and possibly point out where I went wrong? I have been working on this for a while now and have not had much luck and I have started over 3 times :( Any help is much appreciated. Thank you. You can see my first attempt of code here.     Hey I have an .htaccess file with the following code: <Files ~ "item|profile|category|search"> ForceType application/x-httpd-php </Files> What I want is to add a re-write rule as well which changes any body who navigates tot he site ot use http://www.domain.com sintead of http://domain.com I have the code stored somewhere else for it however I can't seem to just place in the file as it corrupts?   • NHibernate, the Parallel Framework, and SQL Server

    hey guys, we have a loop that: 1.Loops over several thousand xml files. Altogether we're parsing millions of "user" nodes. 2.In each iteration we parse a "user" xml, do custom deserialization 3.finally, in each iteration, we send our object to nhibernate for saving. We use: .SaveOrUpdateAndFlush(user); This is a lengthy process, and we thought it would be a perfect candidate for testing out the .NET 4.0 Parallel libraries. So we wrapped the loop in a: Parallel.ForEach(); After doing this, we start getting "random" Timeout Exceptions from SQL Server, and finally, after leaving it running all night, OutOfMemory unhandled exceptions. I haven't done deep debugging on this yet, but what do you guys think. Is this simply a limitation of SQL Server, or could it be our NHibernate setup, or what? cheers andy

  • Creating xaml 'template' for multiple pages

    Hey, I'm developing a Silverlight application for the first time. I've gone through some tutorials, but I can't seem to find anything that helps me with this particular problem. I would like a set of buttons to be present on all of my pages (like a template). When a button is pressed, I would like the ContentGrid to slide out and a new ContentGrid slide in (with the relevant .xaml file being loaded). Are there any tutorials showing the best way to do this? From samples I've seen, they only seem to transition between two pages, so copy-pasting the group of buttons on each xaml page isn't too much of a problem. However, with more pages, it would be inefficient to copy-paste the base layout each time. Thanks for any suggestions
