• Specify which row to return on SQLite Group By

  I'm faced with a bit of a difficult problem. I store all the versions of all documents in a single table. Each document has a unique id, and the version is stored as an integer which is incremented everytime there is a new version. I need a query that will only select the latest version of each document from the database. While using GROUP BY works, it appears that it will break if the versions are not inserted in the database in the order of version (ie. it takes the maximum ROWID which will not always be the latest version). Note, that the latest version of each document will most likely be a different number (ie. document A is at version 3, and document B is at version 6). I'm at my wits end, does anybody know how to do this (select all the documents, but only return a single record for each document_id, and that the record returned should have the highest version number)?

• Calculating the average color between two colors in PHP, using an index number as reference value

  Hi all! In PHP, I am trying to calculate the average color (in hex) between to different hex colors.. However, I also need to be able to supply an index number between 0.0 and 1.0. So for example: I have $color1 = "#ffffff" and $color2 = "#0066CC" .. If I would write a function to get the average color and I would supply 0.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#ffffff". If I would supply 1.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#0066CC".. However if I would supply 0.2, the function would need to return an average color between the two colors, but still closer to color1 than to color2.. If I would supply index number 0.5, I would get the exact average color of both colors.. I have been trying to accomplish this for several days now but I can't seem to figure it out..! Any help would therefor be greatly appreciated!.. Thanks!

  I've seen a lot of questions on that on StackOverflow, but reading the answers did not clear that up for me, probably because I'm a total newbie in C programming.   Has there been an announcement (outside microformats.org) that the value-class-pattern is fully accessible? e.g. given <abbr class="value" title="2008-06-24">this Tuesday</abbr>, will a screen reader say "24 June 2008" or will it say "2008 dash 6 dash 24"? History Microformats came along, and were great, except that dates etc were stored in abbr tags: <abbr class="dtstart" title="20070312T1700-06"> March 12, 2007 at 5 PM, Central Standard Time </abbr>` This lead to screen readers doing ridiculous things as noted in hAccessibility. Now that microformats.org have released the value-class-pattern it's a lot better. But I'm left unable to find a declaration from WaSP (or another accessibility source not directly tied to microformats) that declaratively states that they are now accessible to screen readers etc.

• Why does [NSOutlineView clickedRow] always return -1?

  I have a fairly pedestrian non-editable NSOutlineView setup. In the bindings for the outline view, I have set the binding to my file's owner (MyDocument FWIW) with a selector of outlineViewWasDoubleClicked The method exists and is called, but when I call -clickedRow it consistently returns -1 rather than the row number of the row that I double clicked to trigger the method. My _outlineView is an IBOutlet and I've verified that it is hooked up correctly by using -selectedRow for the method rather than -clickedRow (I would rather use -clickedRow though because it seems unintuitive for the user to have a row selected, double click another row to do something with it and have the method triggered with the row they had selected.) My best guess right now is that the -clickedRow value is getting cleared out before my method fires, but I don't know where or what might be gobbling it up. Thanks in advance for any help.

  I need to set the initial date for the date picker to 03/20/2010 in mm-dd-yyyyy format. I have done this <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='20/03/2010' /> But my problem is on clicking the field date picker populates with today's date as highlighed and no date selected, and up on selecting date value But when i change my input field like one below <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='03/20/2010' /> Date picker is populating March 20 as selected date and current date highlighted. But all in 'mm-dd-yyyy' format! I want show all dates in 'dd-mm-yyyy' format. How can I solve this?

• Documenting using Sandcastle: Refering to enum value using <see>

  I'm using Sandcastle 2.4.10520 and Sandcastle Help File Builder 1.8.0 to generate a .chm help file. In my documentation, I'm using <see> tags. If I try to refer an enum like <see cref="NumberStyles"/> it works perfectly. If I try to refer an enum value like <see cref="NumberStyles.AllowTrailingWhite"/> I get a link in the documentation file, but the link leads me to an MSDN Page not found I don't get any warnings - my xml documentation is correct. I've noticed that MSDN pages that refer to an enum value also have a Page not found link. For example: UInt64.Parse Method (String, NumberStyles, IFormatProvider) refers to NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier and this leads to another MSDN Page not found. Should I refer to the enum instead of the enum value? What should I do to refer an enum? Is it even possible?

  Hi everybody! Just learning Silverlight 4/RIA and i 'm stuck in a weird problem: setup an ASP.NET MVC project as the project hosting the Domain service. In this i tried to get data from the Domain Service which worked fine (i'm using a repository in it). Now i tried to setup a SL4 project.   I'm writing some JDBC code which calls a Oracle 11g PL/SQL procdedure which has a Custom Object return type. I can get the code to call the procedure, but how do I access the returned Custom Object to obtain it's contained values?. So far, I have this: int value = 3221; // 3221 is just an example, could be any number int result = 1; while (result < value) result <<= 1; It works fine, but feels kind of naive. Is there a better algorithm for that problem? EDIT. There were some nice Assembler suggestions, so I'm adding those tags to the question.

  I have method to which I pass an object. In this method I check it's type and depending on the type I do something with it and return a Long. I have tried every which way I can think of to do this and I always get several compiler errors telling me it expects a certain object but gets another. Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong and guide me in the right direction? I have tried: 1. boost::function< void() func( boost::bind( DataConsumer, & boost::bind( DataSource ) ) ); certainly it didn't work, compiler says it can not convert 'boost::_bi::bind_t ' to 'A *' 2. boost::function< void() func( boost::bind( DataConsumer, boost::addressof( boost::bind( DataSource ) ) )); compiler says cannot convert parameter 1 from 'boost::_bi::bind_t' to 'A &' Question: how to use return value from the nested boost::bind ? or if you want to use boost::lambda::bind.

• ASP.NET Gridview Checkbox value to DataTable

  Hey all, First off, im using a checkbox to highlight a true or false value from a dataset which I want to be able to change it. Unfortunately databinding the DataTable to the GridView checkboxes doesnt work (as you probably know) as it requires it to be in "edit" mode. The way I've gotten round this is having the checkbox reading the data table value seperately rather than being databound and locked: Checked='<%# Convert.ToBoolean(Eval("myValue")) %>' So that solves checkbox values from DataTable - GridView, now I need to do the opposite having the changed checkbox values go from GridView - DataTable as it is not ready to submit it to my data source (SQL) just yet. I figure I need to run a loop through the GridView rows, thats a give'un, what I can't figure out is how to replace/update just a single value in a row of a DataTable , only the ability to add or remove an entire row by the looks of things (something I don't want to do). So can anyone offer a workaround? Or is there a way to have a databound but always editable checkbox in a gridview?

  I have a Windows Mobile 6 ARMV4I project where I would like to get the value of the program counter. The function is declared like this: extern "C" unsigned __int32 GetPC(); My assembly code looks like this: GetPC FUNCTION EXPORT GetPC ldr r0, [r15] ; load the PC value in to r0 mov pc, lr ; return the value of r0 ENDFUNC But, when I call the GetPC() function, I get the same number every time.   Hi Everyone, First post here. Having a problem with NSNumber's floatValue method -- somehow, it returns an imprecise number. Here's the problem: I store a bunch of NSNumbers in an array, like this: NSArray *a = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.04f], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.028f], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.016f], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.004f], nil]; Then I try to retrieve the first value (for example): NSNumber n = (NSNumber) [a objectAtIndex:0]; CGFloat f = [n floatValue]; In the debugger, n shows a value of 0.04 (in the summary column), but f shows a value of 0.0399999991. When form will created meaning onLoad it will display blank value(text box is empty). But now we want to check that number is existing then concate with some random number. • Is using value converters to generate GUI-friendly strings a misuse of value converters?

  Currently, I use value converters to generate user-friendly strings for the GUI. As an example, I have a window that displays the number of available entities in the status bar. The Viewmodel simply has an int dependency property that the calling code can set, and then on the binding for the textbox that displays the number of entities, I specify the int dependency property and a value converter that changes "x" into "x entities available". My code is starting to become littered with these converters, and I have a large number of annoying resource declarations in my XAML, and yet I like them because all the GUI-specific string formatting is being isolated in the converters and the calling code doesn't have to worry about it. But still, I wonder if this is not the purpose that value converters were made for.

• WPF ComboBox SelectedItem - change to previous value

  Hello, I have a ComboBox that has the SelectedItem bound to the ViewModel. <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding SelItem, Mode=TwoWay}" ItemsSource="{Binding MyItems}"> When the user selects a new Item in the View ComboBox, I want to display a prompt and verify that they want to make the change. In the SetItem Property setter in the View Model, I display a Dialog to confirm the selection. When they say yes, it works fine. My problem is, when the user clicks on "No" I am not sure who to get the ComboBox to revert back to the previous value. The Property in the ViewModel has the correct older value, however in the View the ComboBox displays the newly Selected Value. I want the user to select an item, confirm they want to go ahead with it, and if they decide not to, I want the ComboBox to revert back to the previous item. How can I accomplish this? Thanks!

I do something like this ....sys.columns c... c.precision, c.scale, c.is_nullable as isnullable, c.default_object_id as columndefault, c.is_computed as iscomputed, but for default value i get the id..something like 454545454 but i want to get the value "xxxx". What is the table to search or what is the function to convert that id to the value. Thanks

• Return/consume dynamic anonymous type across assembly boundaries

  The code below works great. If the Get and Use methods are in different assemblies, the code fails with a RuntimeBinderException. This is because the .Net runtime system only guarantees commonality of anonymous types (<string, int> in this case) within assemblies. Is there any way to fool the runtime system to overcome this?
