  • Hibernate custom join clause on association

    - by myso
I would like to associate 2 entities using hibernate annotations with a custom join clause. The clause is on the usual FK/PK equality, but also where the FK is null. In SQL this would be something like: join b on a.id = b.a_id or b.a_id is null From what I have read I should use the @WhereJoinTable annotation on the owner entity, but I'm puzzled about how I specify this condition...especially the first part of it - referring to the joining entity's id. Does anyone have an example?

  • How to disable a container and its children in Swing

    - by Fuzzy76
I cannot figure out a way to disable a container AND its children in Swing. Is Swing really missing this basic feature? If I do setEnabled(false) on a container, its children are still enabled. My GUI structure is pretty complex, and doing a traversion of all elements below the container is not an option. Neither is a GlassPane on top of the container (the container is not the entire window).

  • Where to get streaming (live) video and audio from camera example app for Android?

    - by Ole Jak
Where to get streaming (live) video and audio from camera example for Android? Suppose I want to create some live video streaming service app so I'll have some cool server at the back end. And I know how to do that part. Suppose I have some stand alone app for PCs now I want to go on to mobile devices. So I want to see some sample app grabing audio and video streams from Phone, Synchronizing them, encoding somehow, and sending LIVE stream to server. I need any Open-Source sample that will do this or something like this. Where can I get one?

  • What are the possible causes of JasperException

    - by CitadelCSCadet
I have a JSP that takes an Arraylist from the session object and removes the items from it. It seemed to be working fine and then out of nowhere when I navigate to that page, the page is blank. I checked the Tomcat log files and in catalina.out I am receiving a JasperException an it is showing it as being on a line with the following for(int i; i < agentItems.size(); i++) agentItems is the name of the ArrayList I am using. I have been debugging it and can't seem to figure out what the problem might be. I have read that a JasperException is sometiems thrown as a JSP's NullPointerException. Is this true or am I just completely overlooking the problem? I have the web application running on a local machine and a intermediate server for development in which both of them have had no trouble. Why could it be that only on this server it is giving me problems?

  • Compare Long values Struts2

    - by Marquinio
Hi everyone I'm trying to compare two values using struts2 s:if tag but its not working. If I hardcode the values it works but I want it to be dynamic. The variable stringValue is of type String. The variable currentLongValue is of type Long. <s:set var="stringValue" value="order"/> <s:iterator value="listTest"> <s:set var="currentLongValue" value="value"/> <s:if test="#currentLongValue.toString() == #stringValue" > //Do something </s:if> <s:else> //Do something else </s:else> </s:iterator> For the s:if I have tried toString and also the equals(). It only works if I hardcode the values. Example: <s:if test="#currentLongValue == 1234"> Any clues? Thank you.

  • Does add() on LinkedBlockingQueue notify waiting threads?

    - by obvio171
I have a consumer thread taking elements from a LinkedBlockingQueue, and I make it sleep manually when it's empty. I use peek() to see if the queue empty because I have to do stuff because sending the thread to sleep, and I do that with queue.wait(). So, when I'm in another thread and add()an element to the queue, does that automatically notify the thread that was wait()ing on the queue?

  • Deleting a node in a family tree

    - by user559142
Hi, I'm trying to calclulate the best way to delete a node in a family tree. First, a little description of how the app works. My app makes the following assumption: Any node can only have one partner. That means that any child a single node has, it will also be the partner nodes child too. Therefore, step relations, divorces etc aren't compensated for. A node always has two parents - A mother and father cannot be added seperately. If the user doesn't know the details - the nodes attributes are set to a default value. Also any node can add parents, siblings, children to itself. Therefore in law relationships can be added. I have the following classes: FamilyMember String fName; String lName; String dob; String gender; FamilyMember mother, father, partner; ArrayListchildren; int index; int generation; void linkParents(); void linkPartner(); void addChild(); //gets & sets for fields Family ArrayListfamily; void addMember(); void removeMember(); FamilyMember getFamilyMember(index); ArrayListgetFamilyMembers(); FamilyTree Family family; void removeMember(); //need help void displayFamilyMembers(); void addFamilyMember(); void enterDetails(); void displayAncestors(); void displayDescendants(); void printDescendants(); FamilyMember findRootNode(); void sortGenerations(); void getRootGeneration(); I am having trouble with identifying the logic for removing a member. All other functions work fine. Has anyone developed a family tree app before who knows how to deal with removing various different nodes in the family "tree"? e.g. removing a leaf removing a leaf with partner (what if partner has parents etc) removing a parent It seems to be another recursive property but my head is swelling from over thought.

  • BFS Shortest Path: Edge weight either 1 or 2

    - by Hackster
I am trying to implement a shortest path algorithm using BFS. That is I am trying to find the shortest path from a specified vertex to every other vertex. However, its a special case where all edge weights are either 1 or 2. I know it could be done with Dijkstra's algorithm but I must use Breadth First Search. So far I have a working version of BFS that searches first for a vertex connected with an edge of weight 1. If it cannot find it, then returns a vertex connected with an edge of weight 2. After thinking about it, this is not the correct way to find the shortest path. The problem is I cannot think of any reasoning why BFS would work with weights 1 or 2, as opposed to any weight. Here is the code: public void addEdge(int start, int end, int weight) { adjMat[start][end] = 1; adjMat[end][start] = 1; edge_weight[start][end] = weight; edge_weight[end][start] = weight; } // ------------------------------------------------------------- public void bfs() // breadth-first search { // begin at vertex 0 vertexList[0].wasVisited = true; // mark it displayVertex(0); // display it theQueue.insert(0); // insert at tail int v2; while( !theQueue.isEmpty() ) // until queue empty, { int v1 = theQueue.remove(); // remove vertex at head // until it has no unvisited neighbors while( (v2=getAdjUnvisitedVertex(v1)) != -1 ){// get one, vertexList[v2].wasVisited = true; // mark it displayVertex(v2); // display it theQueue.insert(v2); // insert it } } // end while(queue not empty) // queue is empty, so we're done for(int j=0; j<nVerts; j++) // reset flags vertexList[j].wasVisited = false; } // end bfs() // ------------------------------------------------------------- // returns an unvisited vertex adj to v -- ****WITH WEIGHT 1**** public int getAdjUnvisitedVertex(int v) { for (int j = 0; j < nVerts; j++) if (adjMat[v][j] == 1 && vertexList[j].wasVisited == false && edge_weight[v][j] == 1){ //System.out.println("Vertex found with 1:"+ vertexList[j].label); return j; } for (int k = 0; k < nVerts; k++) if (adjMat[v][k] == 1 && vertexList[k].wasVisited == false && edge_weight[v][k] == 2){ //System.out.println("Vertex found with 2:"+vertexList[k].label); return k; } return -1; } // end getAdjUnvisitedVertex() // ------------------------------------------------------------- } //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// public class BFS{ public static void main(String[] args) { Graph theGraph = new Graph(); theGraph.addVertex('A'); // 0 (start for bfs) theGraph.addVertex('B'); // 1 theGraph.addVertex('C'); // 2 theGraph.addEdge(0, 1,2); // AB theGraph.addEdge(1, 2,1); // BC theGraph.addEdge(2, 0,1); // AD System.out.print("Visits: "); theGraph.bfs(); // breadth-first search System.out.println(); } // end main() } The problem then is, that I don't know why BFS can work for the shortest path problem with edges of weight 1 or 2 as opposed to any edges of any weight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Beautifying a SWT application on Mac

    - by Mark
SWT is designed to be cross-platform, so it can run on a Mac. The problem is it commits the cardinal sin of Macland - it's UGLY. Toolbars don't look like Mac toolbars, status bars don't look like Mac status bars, etc. Does anyone have any experience in making an SWT application look more like a Mac application? For example, by making platform-specific JNI calls via the 'OS' class in SWT? If so, how difficult was it? (This question arises because we are looking at porting an existing SWT app designed to run on Windows) Thanks

  • How to re-order a List<String>

    - by tarka
I have created the following method: public List<String> listAll() { List worldCountriesByLocal = new ArrayList(); for (Locale locale : Locale.getAvailableLocales()) { final String isoCountry = locale.getDisplayCountry(); if (isoCountry.length() > 0) { worldCountriesByLocal.add(isoCountry); Collections.sort(worldCountriesByLocal); } } return worldCountriesByLocal; } Its pretty simple and it returns a list of world countries in the users locale. I then sort it to get it alphabetic. This all works perfectly (except I seem to occasionally get duplicates of countries!). Anyway, what I need is to place the US, and UK at the top of the list regardless. The problem I have is that I can't isolate the index or the string that will be returned for the US and UK because that is specific to the locale! Any ideas would be really appreciated.

  • Does a HashSet make an internal copy of added Objects?

    - by praks5432
Let's say I have a function that is recursive and is like this public void someRecur(List<Integer>someList){ if(someBreakCondition) Set.add(someList); for(int i = 0; i < someLen ; i++){ someList.add(someInt); someRecur(someList); someList.remove(someInt); } } Does the remove affect the list that has been put into the set? What should I do to give the set an actual copy of the list?

  • When calling CRUD check if "parent" exists with read or join?

    - by Trick
All my entities can not be deleted - only deactivated, so they don't appear in any read methods (SELECT ... WHERE active=TRUE). Now I have some 1:M tables on this entities on which all CRUD operations can be executed. What is more efficient or has better performance? My first solution: To add to all CRUD operations: UPDATE ... JOIN entity e ... WHERE e.active=TRUE My second solution: Before all CRUD operations check if entity is active: if (getEntity(someId) != null) { //do some CRUD } In getEntity there's just SELECT * FROM entity WHERE id=? AND active=TRUE. Or any other solution, recommendation,...?

  • How to read an xs:any response using CXF Generated Client?

    - by mfcabrera
Hi, When consuming a webserice with CXF 2.1.4 (the generated client) I am having problem getting the response based on the following XSD snippet in the WSDL. CXF Generates a List representing it, but when I execute the service, the response comes null. I used wireshark to what I was reciving and indeed the response XMl is coming as expected, but CXF just give me null object. Below the XSD of the response object. And <!--- chunk --> <s:element name="GestionSIIFResponse"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="GestionSIIFResult"> <s:complexType mixed="true"> <s:sequence> <s:any /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> <!--- chunk --> And this is the response I am getting from the service: <soap:Body> <GestionSIIFResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <GestionSIIFResult> <Siif xmlns=""> <Pagina>NUY001B</Pagina> <Exitos> <ExitoRep> <CodExito>SIL0082</CodExito> <DesExito>La transaccion se ha aplicado satisfactoriamente</DesExito> </ExitoRep> </Exitos> <InformacionCab/> <Repeticiones/> </Siif> </GestionSIIFResult> </GestionSIIFResponse>

  • Reflection in unit tests for checking code coverage

    - by Gary
Here's the scenario. I have VO (Value Objects) or DTO objects that are just containers for data. When I take those and split them apart for saving into a DB that (for lots of reasons) doesn't map to the VO's elegantly, I want to test to see if each field is successfully being created in the database and successfully read back in to rebuild the VO. Is there a way I can test that my tests cover every field in the VO? I had an idea about using reflection to iterate through the fields of the VO's as part of the solution, but maybe you guys have solved the problem before? I want this test to fail when I add fields in the VO, and don't remember to add checks for it in my tests.

  • Create JTable in a JPanel and add row

    - by DK64
On my program I've dinamically created a JFrame that contains a JPanel called jp. jp also contains a JTable that I would like to fill with some rows. case KeyEvent.VK_R: JFrame frame = new JFrame("Snake v2.0 - Rankings"); JPanel jp = new JPanel(); jp.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(300,300)); JTable table = new JTable(); JScrollPane tableContainer = new JScrollPane(table); jp.add(tableContainer, BorderLayout.CENTER); DefaultTableModel tm = (DefaultTableModel) table.getModel(); tm.addRow(new Object[] {"#","Player","Score","Date"}); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.HIDE_ON_CLOSE); frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null); frame.setResizable(false); frame.getContentPane().add(jp); frame.pack(); frame.setVisible(true); break; This is my code. When I press R on the keyboard, the JFrame with that JPanel inside appears but the table doesnt (picture). What could I do?

  • Fast response on first Socket I/O request but slow every other time when communicating with remote serial port

    - by GreenGodot
    I'm using sockets to pass Serial commands to a remote device. And the response to that request is sent back and printed out. However, I am having a problem in that the first time it is instant but the rest of the time it can take up to 20 seconds to receive a reply. I think the problem is with my attempt at threading but I am not entirely sure. new Thread() { @Override public void run() { System.out.println("opened"); try { isSocketRetrieving.setText("Opening Socket"); socket = new Socket(getAddress(), getRemotePort())); DataOutput = new DataOutputStream(socket .getOutputStream()); inFromServer = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader(socket .getInputStream())); String line = ""; isSocketRetrieving.setText("Reading Stream......"); while ((line = inFromServer.readLine()) != null) { System.out.println(line); if (line.contains(getHandshakeRequest())) { DataOutput.write((getHandshakeResponse()toString() + "\r").getBytes()); DataOutput.flush(); DataOutput .write((getCommand().toString() + "\r").getBytes()); DataOutput.flush(); int pause = (line.length()*8*1000)/getBaud(); sleep(pause); } else if (line.contains(readingObject .getExpected())) { System.out.println(line); textArea.append("value = " + line + "\n"); textAreaScroll.revalidate(); System.out.println("Got Value"); break; } } System.out.println("Ended"); try { inFromServer.close(); DataOutput.close(); socket.close(); isSocketRetrieving.setText("Socket is inactive..."); rs232Table.addMouseListener(listener); interrupt(); join(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { System.out.println("Thread exited"); } } catch (NumberFormatException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (UnknownHostException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } } }.start();

  • Manage groups of build configurations in Hudson

    - by Lóránt Pintér
I'm using Hudson to build my application. I have several branches that come and go. Whenever there's a new branch, I have to set up the following builds for it: a continuous build that runs after every change in SVN a nightly build a nightly site generation (I'm using Maven under the hood) and a weekly integration build for some branches currently this means I need to copy four template configurations and set them up with the branch URL. I don't like this for two reasons: It's redundant, so modifying something is error-prone and takes a lot of time. I need four full checkouts of the product per branch on every build slave, plus four separate private Maven repository, not to mention the built artifacts. This is a lot of space wasted. What I'd like instead is to have one workspace and one configuration for allthese builds. Is this possible with Hudson?

  • lwjgl 101: How can I use VBOs?

How can I draw anything in lwjgl using VBOs? When I follow the tutorial, it just breaks. I've also tried running this example (with the byteorder fix) but it just displays a blank window. SO hasn't been helpful to me yet, but this is the last place I can think of that might have an answer...

  • Questions about my program and Polymorphism

    - by Strobe_
Ok, so basically I'm creating a program which allows the user to select a shape (triangle, square, circle) and then it takes in a int and calculates the boundary length and area. I have no problem doing this and have a program that's working perfectly. (https://gist.github.com/anonymous/c63a03c129560a7b7434 4 classes) But now I have to implement this with polymorphism concepts and I'm honestly struggling as to how to do it. I have a basic idea of what I want to do when it comes to inheritance Main | Shapes / | \ triangle circle square But I don't understand how I'm supposed to override when all the methods within the triangle/square/circle classes are unique, there are no "abstract" methods as such that I could inherit from the "Shapes" class. If somebody could make look quickly at the code I linked and suggest a way to do this it would be much appreciated. Sorry if I was bad at explaining this. Thanks.
