Channelling an explosion along a narrow passage

I am simulating explosions in a 2D maze game. If an explosion occurs in an open area, it covers a circular region (this is the easy bit.) However if an explosion occurs in a narrow passage (i.e narrower than the blast range) then it should be "compressed", so that it goes further and also it should go around corners. Ultimately, unless it is completely boxed-in, then it should cover a constant number of pixels, spreading in whatever direction is necessary to reach this total area. I have tried using a shortest-path algorithm to pick the nearest N pixels to the origin avoiding walls, but the effect is exaggerated - the blast travels around corners too easily, making U-turns even when there is a clear path in another direction. I don't know whether this is realistic or not but it is counter-intuitive to players who assume that they can hide around a corner and the blast will take the path of least resistance in a different direction. Is there a well-known (and fast) algorithm for this?

Editing XML Literals Embedded Expressions in Visual Basic 2010 (Avner Aharoni)

The implicit line continuation feature in Visual Basic 2010 provided an opportunity to improve the code editing experience in XML literals embedded expressions. In Visual Studio 2008, pressing Enter inside an embedded expression would result in the cursor being positioned to the left of the end embedded expression tag. In Visual Studio 2010, pressing Enter inserts a newline for the cursor, and the end embedded expression tag moves to the line below. Hosting cross-domain Silverlight applications (XAP)

In the Silverlight world, there are two types of cross-domain things that may leave some banging their head against a wall for a while. The first involves making network-based calls (WebClient, HttpWebRequest, etc) to services hosted on a domain other than the one that is the site of origin for the XAP. RabbitVCS suddenly stopped working in Nautilus with Ubuntu 11.04

A while ago I installed RabbitVCS on Ubuntu 11.04. It then all worked pretty well, but since a few weeks (maybe even more than a month) RabbitVCS suddenly disappeared from the Nautilus context menu. I visited this page: http://wiki.rabbitvcs.org/wiki/support/known-issues and saw some points I could try, but none of them worked out to a working version again. Also this issue Rabbit VCS stopped working after upgrade to 11.10 does not describe the solution for me, so I think it might be something else. I have also tried to reinstall RabbitVCS again from the PPA which was recently updated according to this topic, but no luck. I am still on 11.04 (as I don't like the way Ubuntu is going in newer versions at all) and my Nautilus version is 2.32.2.1 . Is there someone who can help with this one?

So far, I can see about 55 sessions which are directly related to my product areas (Forms, JDeveloper and Oracle ADF). These range from high-level strategic keynotes, to deep dives and hands on sessions from some of the best known names in ADF and Forms. Copy and Paste problems in Visual Studio 2010

The use case to reproduce the bug, just using VS2010 for a few minutes and eventually doing Control C and Control V to copy lines of code does not work. Are there plans for system-wide smooth scrolling?

As Ubuntu seems to be making strategic preparations for a tablet-like experience, I wondered what priority smooth scrolling is for the team. A use case: I read PDFs on a netbook on a daily basis. Even with fullscreen, I have to scroll about every 10-15 seconds. Without smooth scroll, I have to spend a half second or so to "find" my place. Even though it seems like a small inconvenience, the increments add up quite fast. As a result, I look enviously at owners of a certain well-known tablet far too often.
