  • Log4j show package name

    - by Stephane Grenier
Right now for my ConversionPattern I have: log4j.appender.A1.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{yyyy MMM dd HH:mm:ss,SSS} %5p [%t] (%F:%L) - %m%n What I'd like to do is also include the full package name with the class (%F:%L) but I can't find any config to do so in the docs. I do understand that this will be slower, but it's only for debugging and not when the system will be in production.

  • Get the ID of a Child in a cascade="all" relationship, while adding it to a collection, in Hibernate

    - by Marco
Hi, i have two Entities, "Parent" and "Child", that are linked through a bidirectional one-to-many relationship with the cascade attribute set to "all". When adding a Child object to the Parent children collection using the code below, i can't get the ID of the persisted child until i commit the transaction: Parent p = (Parent) session.load(Parent.class, pid); Child c = new Child(); p.addChild(c); // "c" hasn't an ID (is always zero) However, when i persist a child entity by explicitly calling the session.save() method, the ID is created and set immediately, even if the transaction hasn't been committed: Child c = new Child(); session.save(c); // "c" has an ID Is there a way to get the ID of the child entity immediately without calling the session.save() method? Thanks

  • Formula to draw pyramid of circles

    - by terence6
    I'm trying to create a pyramid of circles to my game, looking similar to this : But I can't make it print properly. Constantly I'm getting really strange spirals but nothing close to this. Can anyone give me some tip on proper formula ? My window is 600x600, base of pyramid is 8 . fields = new Field[BASE*(BASE/2)+4]; int line_count = BASE; int line_tmp = line_count; for(int i=0; i< fields.length; i++){ for( int j=line_tmp; j <= line_count; j++){ fields[i] = new Field(0, (150+(line_tmp*5)),(600+line_tmp*5)); } line_count--; line_tmp = line_count; }

  • How to deserialize implementation classes in OSGi

    - by Daniel Schneller
In an eRCP OSGi based application the user can push a button and go to a lock screen similar to that of Windows or Mac OS X. When this happens, the current state of the application is serialized to a file and control is handed over to the lock screen. In this mobile application memory is very tight, so we need to get rid of the original view/controller when the lock screen comes up. This works fine and we end up with a binary serialized file. Once the user logs back in, the file is read in again and the original state of the application restored. This works fine as well, except when the controller that was serialized contained a reference to an object which comes from a different bundle. In my concrete case the original controller (from bundle A) can call a web service and gets a result back. Nothing fancy, just some Strings and Numbers in a simple value holder class. However the controller only sees this as a Result interface; the actual runtime object (ResultImpl) is defined and created in a different bundle (bundle B, the webservice client implementation) and returned via a service call. When the deserialization now tries to thaw the controller from the file, it throws a ClassNotFound exception, complaining about not being able to deserialize the result object, because deserialization is called from bundle A, which cannot see the ResultImpl class from bundle B. Any ideas on how to work around that? The only thing I could come up with is to clone all the individual values into another object, defined in the controller's bundle, but this seems like quite a hassle.

  • Which text margin does SWT Table use when drawing text?

    - by Zordid
I got a relatively easy question - but I cannot find anything anywhere to answer it. I use a simple SWT table widget in my application that displays only text in the cells. I got an incremental search feature and want to highlight text snippets in all cells if they match. So when typing "a", all "a"s should be highlighted. To get this, I add an SWT.EraseItem listener to interfere with the background drawing. If the current cell's text contains the search string, I find the positions and calculate relative x-coordinates within the text using event.gc.stringExtent - easy. With that I just draw rectangles "behind" the occurrences. Now, there's a flaw in this. The table does not draw the text without a margin, so my x coordinate does not really match - it is slightly off by a few pixels! But how many?? Where do I retrieve the cell's text margins that table's own drawing will use? No clue. Cannot find anything. :-( Bonus question: the table's draw method also shortens text and adds "..." if it does not fit into the cell. Hmm. My occurrence finder takes the TableItem's text and thus also tries to mark occurrences that are actually not visible because they are consumed by the "...". How do I get the shortened text and not the "real" text within the EraseItem draw handler? Thanks!

  • ArrayBlockingQueue - How to "interrupt" a thread that is wating on .take() method

    - by bernhard
I use an ArrayBlockingQueue in my code. Clients will wait untill an element becomes available: myBlockingQueue.take(); How can I "shutdown" my service in case no elements are present in the queue and the take() ist wating indefenitely for an element to become available? This method throws an InterruptedException. My question is, how can I "evoke" an Interrupted Exception so that take() will quit? (I also tought about notify(), but it seems I doesnt help here..) I know I could insert an special "EOF/QUIT" marker Element but is this really the only solution? UPDATE (regarding the comment, that points to another question with two solutions: one mentioned above using a "Poisoning Pill Object" and the second one is Thread.interrupt(): The myBlockingQueue.take() is used NOT in a Thread (extending Thread) but rather implements Runnable. It seems a Runnable does not provide the .interrupt() method? How could I interrupt the Runnable? Million Thanks Bernhard

  • Eclipse hangs when rebuilding after the addition of an external JAR file.

    - by celestialorb
I'm fairly new to Eclipse so if this is something simple I apologize, however when I attempt to add an external JAR file to my build path (specifically the "rt.jar" file which contains certain tools that I require) and then rebuild my project, Eclipse will hang at the end of the Build process. It'll get to 100% then just hang there using 100% of one of my CPU cores. At first I thought it may have been due to the relatively large size of the rt.jar file, but I tried using smaller JAR files and it still hung at 100%. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If there is something wrong with using the rt.jar file does anyone know of another JAR file that contains both tools for dealing with SOAP requests as well as XML/DOM manipulation? Thanks again!

  • How can I map a spring controller to a url with .jsp extension?

    - by Matteo Caprari
Hi. We are in the process of migrating a jsp-only application to Spring-MVC. For various reasons we can't change the extension of the current pages. (calls to login.jsp need to handled by a spring controller that will use a jsp file as view). We are doing this iteratively, so some pages need to stay jsp files (calls to welcome.jsp won't be handled by a controller). To do that I mapped both the DispatcherDervlet and the HandlerMapping to *.jsp, and configured the JstlView in the standard way. Unfortunately, if I browse to //login.jsp I get an error saying <No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/<context>/WEB-INF/jsp/login.jsp] in DispatcherServlet with name 'spring'> It all works if I change .jsp to any other extension in DispatcherServlet and HandlerMapping. web.xml: <servlet> <servlet-name>spring</servlet-name> <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>spring</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> spring-servlet.xml: <!-- View resolver --> <bean id="viewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.UrlBasedViewResolver"> <property name="viewClass" value="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView"/> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/"/> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"/> </bean> <!-- URL Mapping --> <bean id="publicUrlMapping" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.handler.SimpleUrlHandlerMapping"> <property name="urlMap"> <map> <entry key="/login.jsp" value-ref="loginController"/> </map> </property> </bean> Thanks a lot.

  • Why a EDT violation happens?

    - by Roman
I started to use CheckThreadViolationRepaintManager to detect EDT violations. It complains about: partner = getParameter("partner",generatePartnerSelectionPanel(),Design.partnerSelectionDuration); Because it does not like generatePartnerSelectionPanel() because it does not like JPanel panel = new JPanel(); in this method. But I cannot find out why there should be a problem around that. In more details, generatePartnerSelectionPanel() generates a JPanel (I do it not in the EDT) but then, in the getParameter I add the JPanel to the main JFrame and I do it in the EDT (using invokeLater). So, why there should be a problem?

  • SOS: AudioFormat when writing to file in FreeTTS

    - by user330793
Very annoying problem. I have developed a freeTTS application of the freetts class that write captured audio to file however I am having some very annoying problems. When setting the audio player to singlefileaudio player I try to also set the audioformat with my own default values for sampleRate, sampleSizeInBits, channels, signed and bigEndian. Now I access AudioPlayer.get methods to show these values in runtime just to ensure they are set to what I set them and they match those values. However when file writing completes and I check the properties of the resulting wave file, they are set to the audioPlayer default settings. Normally this will be fine except I have to read the files into another application which has fixed audio property settings so I always get a resulting output that sounds like am fast forwarding the sound and listening to it at the same time. Obviously because of the different sampling rates. I need help please. Thanx, Henry

  • Hibernate Query for a List of Objects that matches a List of Objects' ids

    - by sal
Given a classes Foo, Bar which have hibernate mappings to tables Foo, A, B and C public class Foo { Integer aid; Integer bid; Integer cid; ...; } public class Bar { A a; B b; C c; ...; } I build a List fooList of an arbitrary size and I would like to use hibernate to fetch List where the resulting list will look something like this: Bar[1] = [X1,Y2,ZA,...] Bar[2] = [X1,Y2,ZB,...] Bar[3] = [X1,Y2,ZC,...] Bar[4] = [X1,Y3,ZD,...] Bar[5] = [X2,Y4,ZE,...] Bar[6] = [X2,Y4,ZF,...] Bar[7] = [X2,Y5,ZG,...] Bar[8] = ... Where each Xi, Yi and Zi represents a unique object. I know I can iterate fooList and fetch each List and call barList.addAll(...) to build the result list with something like this: List<bar> barList.addAll(s.createQuery("from Bar bar where bar.aid = :aid and ... ") .setEntity("aid", foo.getAid()) .setEntity("bid", foo.getBid()) .setEntity("cid", foo.getCid()) .list(); ); Is there any easier way, ideally one that makes better use of hibernate and make a minimal number of database calls? Am I missing something? Is hibernate not the right tool for this?

  • j2me PushRegistry.RegisterAlarm and code signing

    - by Mihir
I am developing an app on Nokia C2-00 in which I am using push registry for auto start of app on some fixed time ex. PushRegistry.registerAlarm("ClassName", alarm.getTime()); this is working perfect and it starts app on that time. But this is asking me for permissions two times. 1) when I am registering alarm using PushRegistry.registerAlarm("ClassName", alarm.getTime()); 2) when app start on that defined time. in this and this link I found that if my application is signed then it will not ask for permission when app autostart. but I am not sure about the time when my code will register alarm. Will it ask for permission or not?

  • Spring 2.0.0/2.0.6 to 3.0.5 migration stories

    - by Pangea
We are in the process of migrating to 3.0.5 of spring from 2.0.x. We mainly use spring in below scenarios custom scope: thread local scope persistence: jdbc+hibernate 3.6 (but moving to mix of ejb 3.0+jpa 2.0+hibernate, not sure if all 3 can co-exist in 1 app) transactions: local (but planning to use jta due to the necessity of using multiple persistence inits, and has to use ejb+jpa+hibernate in 1 single trans), declarative trans mgmt parent-child contexts cxf annotations+xml OracleLobHandler Resource/ResourceBundleMessageResource JSF/Facelets with FacesSpringVariableResolver ActiveMQ integration Quartz integration TaskExecutor JMX exporter HttpExporter/Invoker Appreciate if someone can share their experiences like what to watch out for head aches/pain points which ones to drop for better alternate choices in new 3.0.5 release Is it better to switch from commons/iscreen validator to Hibernate Validator (Spec impl) or Spring Validator Is there a bean mapping framework in spring that i can use instead of Dozer XSLT transformation helper: currently we have small homegrown framework to cache xslts during load. if spring can do that for me then I would like to drop this Encryption/Decryption support. Password generation support. Authentication with SALT any SAML (or claims based secur New ideas Suggestions Switch to latest version of aspectj Upgrade guide from 2.5 to 3.0.5

  • [iText] Inserting Image onCloseDocument

    - by David
I'm trying to insert an image in the footer of my document using iText's onCloseDocument event. I have the following code: public void onCloseDocument(PdfWriter writer, Document document) { PdfContentByte pdfByte = writer.getDirectContent(); try { // logo is a non-null global variable Image theImage = new Jpeg(logo); pdfByte.addImage(theImage, 400.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f, 400.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } The code throws no exceptions, but it also fails to insert the image. This identical code is used onOpenDocument to insert the same logo. The only difference between the two methods are the coordinates in pdfByte.addImage. However, I've tried quite a few different coordinations in onCloseDocument and none of them appear anywhere in my document. Is there any troubleshooting technique for detecting content which is displayed off-page in a PDF? If not, can anyone see the problem with my onCloseDocument method? Edit: As a followup, it seems that onDocumentClose puts its content on page document.length() + 1 (according to its API). However, I don't know how to change the page number back to document.length() and place my logo on the last page.

  • Get rid of jfreechart chartpanel unnecessary space

    - by ryvantage
    I am trying to get a JFreeChart ChartPanel to remove unwanted extra space between the edge of the panel and the graph itself. To best illustrate, here's a SSCCE (with JFreeChart installed): public static void main(String[] args) { JPanel panel = new JPanel(new GridBagLayout()); GridBagConstraints gbc = new GridBagConstraints(); gbc.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH; gbc.gridwidth = 1; gbc.gridheight = 1; gbc.weightx = 1; gbc.weighty = 1; gbc.gridy = 1; gbc.gridx = 1; panel.add(createChart("Sales", Chart_Type.DOLLARS, 100000, 115000), gbc); gbc.gridx = 2; panel.add(createChart("Quotes", Chart_Type.DOLLARS, 250000, 240000), gbc); gbc.gridx = 3; panel.add(createChart("Profits", Chart_Type.PERCENTAGE, 40.00, 38.00), gbc); JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.add(panel); frame.setSize(800, 300); frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null); frame.setVisible(true); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); } private static ChartPanel createChart(String title, Chart_Type type, double goal, double actual) { double maxValue = goal * 2; double yellowToGreenNum = goal; double redToYellowNum = goal * .75; DefaultValueDataset dataset = new DefaultValueDataset(actual); JFreeChart jfreechart = createChart(dataset, Math.max(actual, maxValue), redToYellowNum, yellowToGreenNum, title, type); ChartPanel chartPanel = new ChartPanel(jfreechart); chartPanel.setBorder(new LineBorder(Color.red)); return chartPanel; } private static JFreeChart createChart(ValueDataset valuedataset, Number maxValue, Number redToYellowNum, Number yellowToGreenNum, String title, Chart_Type type) { MeterPlot meterplot = new MeterPlot(valuedataset); meterplot.setRange(new Range(0.0D, maxValue.doubleValue())); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Not Met ", new Range(0.0D, redToYellowNum.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(255, 0, 0, 128))); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Almost Met ", new Range(redToYellowNum.doubleValue(), yellowToGreenNum.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(255, 255, 0, 64))); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Met ", new Range(yellowToGreenNum.doubleValue(), maxValue.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(0, 255, 0, 64))); meterplot.setNeedlePaint(Color.darkGray); meterplot.setDialBackgroundPaint(Color.white); meterplot.setDialOutlinePaint(Color.gray); meterplot.setDialShape(DialShape.CHORD); meterplot.setMeterAngle(260); meterplot.setTickLabelsVisible(false); meterplot.setTickSize(maxValue.doubleValue() / 20); meterplot.setTickPaint(Color.lightGray); meterplot.setValuePaint(Color.black); meterplot.setValueFont(new Font("Dialog", Font.BOLD, 0)); meterplot.setUnits(""); if(type == Chart_Type.DOLLARS) meterplot.setTickLabelFormat(NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance()); else if(type == Chart_Type.PERCENTAGE) meterplot.setTickLabelFormat(NumberFormat.getPercentInstance()); JFreeChart jfreechart = new JFreeChart(title, JFreeChart.DEFAULT_TITLE_FONT, meterplot, false); return jfreechart; } enum Chart_Type { DOLLARS, PERCENTAGE } If you resize the frame, you can see that you cannot make the edge of the graph go to the edge of the panel (the panels are outlined in red). Especially on the bottom - there is always a gap between the bottom the graph and the bottom of the panel. Is there a way to make the graph fill the entire area? Is there a way to at least guarantee that it is touching one edge of the panel (i.e., it is touching the top and bottom or the left and right) ??
