  • How to start learning Programming? [on hold]

    Most of the time people ask which programming language to learn which I know is not valid question to ask here and I don't care about 'which' here, I care about 'How'. So, how do I start learning programming from scratch? in other words, what are the steps for absolute beginner to learn programming the right way? I'm sure buying a book and reading it is not the only way in this case. Again, I don't want to ask which but I want also to know if there are specific languages that will make my start as solid as possible because I know that some can hurt my mindset of programming point of view.

I know there are some ways of doing it, but I find it hard to find any available code on the net that explains it for a java/android beginner like myself.     Hi everybody, I am building a WCF service as http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WCF/9StepsWCF.aspx#Beginner%20WCF%20FAQ%E2%80%99s and facing a trouble with X.509 certificate: when I debug, evething is OK. But when I pubish it to IIS (5.1, windowsXP SP3) I receive the error: **Cannot find the X.509 certificate using the following search criteria: StoreName 'My', StoreLocation 'CurrentUser', FindType 'FindBySubjectName', FindValue 'WCFServer'.** Thanks for any idea.

Any recommendations of: blogs more detailed / advanced books (I've already stuck Advanced Programming in a Unix Environment on my Safari bookshelf) open source code (beginner-friendly and with good C idioms or style) to read up on next would be gratefully appreciated.
