  I have long been looking for a functioning example of a password, but I have not found. can someone help me? Explained more clearly: I have a TextField named password and I want that when it is written in 123 and press the button it goes to another activity if it is written in 123 if not it would inform the "wrong password!" and that the password is found file, which is / sdcard / Android / password.txt if you understood :) SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!   I'm a PHP Developer and Web Designer. In my work a partner asked me if I could set up a Google Cloud Messaging server. I read the documentation but couldn't find a clear tutorial to set up this server. I got no knowleadge about Java so it makes my job harder. I could "compile" a war file using ant as GCM Demo Tutorial says. But I can't deploy it to my AppEngine server to try it out (It's my first time using AppEngine too).   i m trying to make a simple program ( & yes , it is a homework ) that can generate Dates , & like most of normal people : i made my Class attributes private , i tried to send the same type that i m working on to the constructor but the complier have not accept it , i did some research & i found out that in cases like that people generously send a const "type" reference to the constructor witch meant to me that have not understand OOP well so why do we have to send the const " type " reference instead of just the types name to the constructor ? & please give me some links or websites for beginners PS : sorry for my English

• Java application failing on special characters.

  An application I am working on reads information from files to populate a database. Some of the characters in the files are non-English, for example accented French characters. The application is working fine in Windows but on our Solaris machine it is failing to recognise the special characters and is throwing an exception. For example when it encounters the accented e in "Gérer" it says :- Encountered: "\u0161" (353), after : "\'G\u00c3\u00a9rer les mod\u00c3" (an exception which is thrown from our application) I suspect that in order to stop this from happening I need to change the file.encoding property of the JVM. I tried to do this via System.setProperty() but it has not stopped the error from occurring. Are there any suggestions for what I could do? I was thinking about setting the basic locale of the solaris platform in /etc/default/init to be UTF-8. Does anyone think this might help? Any thoughts are much appreciated.

  Hello. Can someone please add a feature to C++? I would like to change variable names depending on the context. Example: Class stuff; if(stuff.hasSuperPowers()) { stuff becomes stuffWithSuperPowers; } That because creating a new variable and using an assignment sucks and lets stuff be acessible in that scope anyway. If you do it, please keep the becomes syntax unless it doesn't look good enough for you as a native English speaker. Thanks in advance.

  Is it possible to create an application for Android, which can generate a video signal (HDMI or VGA) via USB? Any Android device has miniUSB port. Theoretically it's possible to create a small commutator device on microcontroller or microscheme, which will be a USB-host for Android device. You'll connect Android device with commutator and then connect commutator with monitor. For example, the scheme looks like: Android phone - commutator (USB-host) - TV/Monitor. Summary, I need to connect android phone with TV via miniUSB port. I found soft which can use miniUSB - HDMI cable, but those apps only for Motorolla Droid and HTC Evo. I'll glad to get links to existing apps or projects on that theme, to info about software generation HDMI-signal and connecting Android devices with another devices.   hi to all! i am suffering with an unexpected behavior,here is problem definitation i have applications communicating on LAN via UDP protocol, i am reading the Ip and Port no from a text file, initially the Ip and Port is working nicely but after some time the Ip that is a char array is corrupted and it takes garbage values, also the file writing is effected by this i mean the values that are in ip array are also written in text file that is written by the same application, i cant understand what is the problem. sorry for weak english. thanx in advance.

  hi, i have setup Sphinx and tested Hello World and its working fine. but i wanted to change the words. so i change the WSJ extension and edited the Dictionary and included the name which i wanted with the phonemes. and then i zip it and again change the extension type to jar and checked. but it says "WARNING jsgfGrammar Can't find pronunciation for nugegoda" and when i talked to some friends about it they asking me to put that word to the language model also but i cannot find such a language model in the library folder. please can someone help me the normal english words are working fine. i hope someone help me on this.

  I'm using NSDate to get a string such as "18 Jun 09", with code: NSDate *theDate = [NSDate date]; NSString *dateString = [theDate descriptionWithCalendarFormat:@"%d %b %y" timeZone:nil locale: nil]; This works, but only results in an English output. I need the output to be localized in the user's default language. Does Cocoa (Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 in this case) provide a facility for this localization or do I have to manually localize for each case of day and & month names my self? (I have provided a locale, but although that does provide a locale-specific ordering of the date, it does not appear to do any localization of day-month names.)

• Using LocationManager from another class than Main

  Hi, i'm new here, i'm new in iphone development, i'm new in Objective-c and i'm new in engligh speaking, so don't hate me :P I'm creating an application that will use the location manager to display the distance between the own position and the positions of a list of shops, like AroundME. Now, i give the locationManager property to my main class and in the .m of that class, precisely in the viewDidLoad method, i make: [locationManager startUpdatingLocation]. It all works fine, but the problem is: i need to know my position in other classes than the main, but i don't think that is a good idea making [locationManager startUpdatingLocation] every time i need it, is not time overhead? The view of my main class is always below the others, so can i retrieve the updated location in my other classes? In what way? Creating another instance of my main class is not useful, i think, but the locationManager, once started, doesn't stop until my main class is released, isn't true? So i think that it is accessible in some way. Thanks for your attention and sorry for my awful english : )

  Maybe this has an obvious solution that I'm overlooking, but I can't seem to find the correct parameter to put in to make this happen. Using the Google Translate widget on a site, I need to set the default language that the user sees when entering the site, even though the site is english. function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({ pageLanguage: 'en' }, 'google_translate_element'); } I've tried adding: defaultLanguage: 'fr' and tried: targetLanguage: 'fr' I did find some nice jQuery solutions, but didn't want to bypass this if it was an easy fix.   I have a ~300.000 row table; which includes technical terms; queried using PHP and MySQL + FULLTEXT indexes. But when I searching a wrong typed term; for example "hyperpext"; naturally giving no results. I need to "compansate" little writing errors and getting nearest record from database. How I can accomplish such feaure? I know (actually, learned today) about Levenshtein distance, Soundex and Metaphone algorithms but currently not having a solid idea to implement this to querying against database. Best regards. • Is this a correct iText design?

  I´m making some pdf reports to be used on a web app. I wonder if the way I´m taking to make the designs is appropriated. This would be a screenshot of the way I´m doing the things. As you can see, I´m using tables to position everything in the document. I think this is a pretty much similar design to HTML. But I want to know is there is a better way to get the same result I got. This is the document without cell borders: I could post the code if necessary. By the way, why should I spend long hours programming these kind of stuff with iText tool when I could do things faster and maybe better looking with iReport? I like iText, it´s just a question.   First of all, I would like to say that I have used the search box looking for a similar question unsuccessfully, maybe because of my poor english skills. The way I currently do this is checking in every single page that a session has been opened. If not, the user gets redirected to a 404 page, to seem like the file which has been requested doesn't exist. I really don't know if this is sure or there's a better and more safety way and I'm currently working with kind of confidential data that should never become public. Could you give me some tips?
