  Ok I am checking that a string is at least 4 characters long and 25 or less characters short I tried to use strlen like this $userNameSignupLength = strlen($userNameSignup); else if($userNameSignupLength<4 && $userNameSignupLength>25) { $userNameSignupError = "Must be between 4 to 25 characters long"; } but it doesn't work... what did I do wrong?

• Can a custom WPF control implement the IsDefault property

  I have a custom button control that does not derive from Button. Is it possible for me to implement the equivalent of IsDefault so that the command associated with my control will be invoked. I was hoping that this was an attached property that I could add to any control but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be. Am I out of luck if my control does not derive from Button or is there at least a reasonable workaround?

• Real time complex raster image morphing in Flash CS4

  Is there a way to load an image from some url or a local folder and then make some complex morphing to it in real time? For example, I have a vector animated pseudo 3D paper in my project that, for example, is being flipped different ways. Then I want to place some image inside that paper box and want to morph that image accordingly to the box form changes or at least make it look more realistically, not exactly the same as the paper box. However, the default java Verifier gives little information on which instruction resulted in the error (it only gives the method and a small message).   How can I find the least prime number greater than a given number? For example, given 4, I need 5; given 7, I need 11. I would like to know some ideas on best algorithms to do this. One method that I thought of was generate primes numbers through the Sieve of Eratosthenes, and then find the prime after the given number.

This library should support the CBC cipher mode and use PKCS7 padding according to the answer to an earlier question of mine. The library should at least work on Mac OS X (10.4) and Windows XP. Ideally just by dropping it into the source directory of my project. I have seen this by Josh Davis, but am not sure about how good it is and if it does the required CBC cipher mode...   If I recall correctly, there where at least to desktop programas from sun which were very useful for handling mysql databases... Now, all I can find is some mysql workbench which is only useful for designing data... Both programs I'm talking about allowed you to manage servers, create database, create tables, index, perform querys, edit data, etc... unfortunately I don't even recall there names... Any idea where I can find them? thanks a lot

  Hello, I'm using pthreads-win32 for portable threading support for windows. At least, according to the documentation pthreads-win32 should work with MSVC and even MSVC builds provided. But I don't know if the library is tested with latest MSVC compilers like MSVC-2008 and if it is supported under 64bit windows. Does anybody aware of any issues with this library? Note: Do not even try to recommend using Boost.Thread, I'm not interested in. And I'm familiar with Boost.Thread library

When I try it on an LG renoir instead of the page fitting the width of the screen the page displays at least twice as wide as it should meaning you can scroll left and right.   From what I've read from Herb Sutter and others you would think that volatile and concurrent programming were completely orthogonal concepts, at least as far as C/C++ are concerned. However, in GCC c++0x extension all of std::atomic's member functions have the volatile qualifier. The same is true in Anthony Williams's implementation of std::atomic. So what's deal, do my atomic<> variables need be volatile or not?

When i'm trying to open some stream, for ex. rtsp://sample.com/sample_100kbit.mp4 player reports it can't load stream and breaks connection. "Access History" section reports file was requested, so, at least initial connection is working, but nothing more. What can be wrong and what to check?

• Creating an empty Drawable in Android

  Creating a Drawable that is completely empty seems like a common need, as a place holder, initial state, etc., but there doesn't seem to be a good way to do this... at least in XML. Several places refer to the system resource @android:drawable/empty but as far as I can tell (i.e., it's not in the reference docs, and aapt chokes saying that it can't find the resource) this doesn't exist. Is there a general way of referencing an empty Drawable, or do you end up creating a fake empty PNG for each project?
