I know private members of a class cannot be accessed, but the question is: I need to access private members of class A from class B, rather than create variables with the same value in class B. I need to export a PDF in a controller The code below, where I return a View, works as expected. @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public View exportReport( @RequestParam(value = "userName", required = true) String userName, @RequestParam(value = "startDate", required = true) Date startDate, @RequestParam(value = "endDate", required = true) Date endDate) { /////////////////////////////////////////// return new TimeSheetReportPdfView(); } The problem occurs if I change the method to return a ModelAndView: @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public ModelAndView exportReport( @RequestParam(value = "userName", required = true) String userName, @RequestParam(value = "startDate", required = true) Date startDate, @RequestParam(value = "endDate", required = true) Date endDate) { /////////////////////////////////////////// return new ModelAndView(new TimeSheetReportPdfView(), model); } Now, the PDF is not exported, all I get is a blank page and nothing in the logs.   • Android Canvas.DrawBitmap without blurring/AntiAliasing?

    I'm trying to make an android game using sprites, (or very pixelated characters, backgrounds etc.). I draw them on the canvas like so... matrix.preScale(xrat,yrat); canvas.drawBitmap(img, matrix, null); Where img is the Bitmap and the xrat and yrat are the scales. My problem is that when I test, the Bitmap is blurry or anti-aliased, is there a way to prevent this? The rigid-blocky art style of the game will be ruined if the blocks are blurry. Any (ANY) help appreciated!

    I want to use the Google account login to retrieve the informations to be used for Google's gdata api so that when I start the application deployed on Google App Engine the user is asked for its login and I can then use this information on the server side to specify the credentials for Google Calendar login (through gdata api). How can I do that? I tried using Client login but it seems that there's no way to get password information from che Client object on the server side... thank you.

  • How to implement thread timeout in J2ME?

    I am using Connector in J2ME and found that sometimes it take a very long time to send a request, and sometime it may halt the whole process. So I try to put code related to Connector in a thread and try to set timeout to the thread. But I found out that it's very difficult to do this in J2ME because there's no join(long) in J2ME. Is there any way to do this? Or any better way to deal with network connection in J2ME? Thanks a lot in advance.

  • JavaMe Bluetooth service registration

    Hello, I am trying to develope an application that offers a service via bluetooth. Everything works fine in the emulator but as soon I install it on a real device (6120/X6 Nokia) the service cannot be found. If I search for already registered services such as OBEX they are found. So I think it has something to do with the registration.     I'm attempting to write some unit tests using EasyMock and TestNG and have run into a question. Given the following: void execute(Foo f) { Bar b = new Bar() b.setId(123); f.setBar(b); } I'm trying to test that the Id of the Bar gets set accordingly in the following fashion: @Test void test_execute() { Foo f = EasyMock.createMock(Foo.class); execute(f); Bar b = ?; // not sure what to do here f.setBar(b); f.expectLastCall(); } In my test, I can't just call f.getBar() and inspect it's Id because f is a mock object. Any thoughts? Is this where I'd want to look at the EasyMock v2.5 additions andDelegateTo() and andStubDelegateTo()?

    I have a workflow that I want to looks something like this: / Worker 1 \ =Request Channel= - [Holding Queue|||] - Worker 2 - =Response Channel= \ Worker 3 / That is: Requests come in and they enter a FIFO queue Identical workers then pick up tasks from the queue At any given time any worker may work only one task When a worker is free and the holding queue is non-empty the worker should immediately pick up another task When tasks are complete, a worker places the result on the Response Channel I know there are QueueChannels in Spring Integration, but these channels require polling (which seems suboptimal). In particular, if a worker can be busy, I'd like the worker to be busy. Also, I've considered avoiding the queue altogether and simply letting tasks round-robin to all workers, but it's preferable to have a single waiting line as some tasks may be accomplished faster than others. Furthermore, I'd like insight into how many jobs are remaining (which I can get from the queue) and the ability to cancel all or particular jobs. How can I implement this message queuing/work distribution pattern while avoiding a polling? Edit: It appears I'm looking for the Message Dispatcher pattern -- how can I implement this using Spring/Spring Integration?

  • Decorator Pattern - Multiple wrappers or quantity property?

    I'm making use of the decorator pattern for one of the first times, as part of a Uni project. As far as I can see, the pattern seems to be meant more for adding functionality in a modular manner, however we've been taught it with uses such as a coffee or pizza maker, where the object has modular components that are added - changing properties rather than behaviour. I'm trying to make the most of both uses, however I've come up with a question. In the example in the book we're using (Head First Design Patterns), the pattern is used in a coffee shop creating different coffees. So, for example, milk, froth, sugar, sprinkles are all decorators. How would you implement a system that used the same decorator multiple times (for example, a coffee with two sugars)? Would you rewrap the coffee, or give sugar a quantity property? Or (as i'm starting to suspect) would this never be an issue as the pattern isn't designed to be used this way?

    I am basing my game off the lunarlander example. This is the run loop I am using (very similar to what is used in lunarlander). I am getting considerable performance issues associated with my drawing, even if I draw almost nothing. I noticed the below method. Why is the canvas being created and set to null each cycle? @Override public void run() { while (mRun) { Canvas c = null; try { c = mSurfaceHolder.lockCanvas();//null synchronized (mSurfaceHolder) { updatePhysics(); doDraw(c); } } finally { // do this in a finally so that if an exception is thrown // during the above, we don't leave the Surface in an // inconsistent state if (c != null) { mSurfaceHolder.unlockCanvasAndPost(c); } } } } Most of the times I have read anything about canvases it is more along the lines of: mField = new Bitmap(...dimensions...); Canvas c = new Canvas(mField); My question is: why is Google's example done that way (null canvas), what are the benefits of this, and is there a faster way to do it?

  • JTable - Getting a cell into Edit mode on pressing Tab

    This is possibly has a trivial solution, but I am at the end of my tether so I hope somebody can help out. I use a JTable which has a custom renderer and a custom editor for a set of columns. The renderer uses a JLabel component and the editor uses a JSpinner component. Our users want to be able to enter values in a column, and then press TAB or ENTER to move to the next editable cell in the table. If I understand correctly, this is the default behaviour for a JTable. However, this doesn't seem to work correctly for me. Until the user clicks on the cell, only the JLabel is displayed. The JSpinner (i.e. CellEditor) is only displayed when a user double clicks on the cell. So, it looks like the cell is going into "edit" mode only on MouseEvents, but not when it has focus. How do I get the cell to go into edit mode as soon as it has focus?

    All, Due to a bug in a library I'm using, I need to override the dispose() method on all objects extending a certain class and make it a NO-OP. I know that if I'm making new instances of the classes directly, this is easy to do: layerManager = new LayerManagerLayer(wwd) { @Override public void dispose() {} }; The problem is that a lot of the object instances I get are not directly constructed by my client code, but instead are created via static library method calls. // Here I want to override the dispose method, but I cannot. Layer l = ShapefileLoader.makeShapefileLayer(this.getClass().getResource("polylines10.shp")); Is there a way I can inject my dispose method into that statically created object without modifying the original sourcecode?

    Hello, I am using Netbeans 6.8. I can see an option to create a web service in my independent ejb module but i can't seem to find an option to create a RESTful based web service in my ejb module. Is there any kind of restriction in ejb module that i can only create SOAP based web service and not RESTful? or is it the bug of Netbeans 6.8?
