    Is there any tool to sniff bittorrent traffic and reassemble data about the torrent? Im looking for file names, peers, tracker address, local IP, etc. This is purely for academic interest in which all parties would be willing participants and therefore please dont upvote responses that talk merely about legal issues with using this kind of approach on a production network.     Hi I want to close an open port which is in listening mode between my client and server application. Is there any manual command line option in Linux to close a port ?? NOTE: I came to know that "only the application which owns the connected socket should close it, which will happen when the application terminates." I dont understand why it is only possible by the application which opens it ... But still eager to know if there is any another way to do it ??

    I would like to install linux ubuntu next to my primary windows 7 OS. I found that wubi ubuntu installer which helps you with simple installation/uninstallation of ubuntu. But the wiki says that wubi uses a virtual disk. Is that similar to virtually running the OS? I really dont want my primary system to slow down because of that. Should i rather go with the classical dual boot? If WUBI, whats the recommended install size? Thanks

    Currently I am using wamp 2.X, and been using it for 1 year. Recently I found this XAMPP, and it looks pretty good (well, I could say AWESOME), can I install XAMPP and WAMP on same computer? Will it crash or conflict each other? I already back up my wamp files, but I just dont want to waste my time to install and uninstall and install again. Thats why I am asking this question here.

    I am getting the UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME error on my Samsung laptop which does not have a CD Rom drive. I tried to merge the C and D partitions to get more space but since then the laptop does not start up anymore. I dont care about the laptop, just about some pictures on there which I did not back up yet. I really hope someone can help me?!! I am a new user, so cant post pictures, but can send a screenshot if needed.

    i can access phpmyadmin by typing in the url: h t t p : / / 234.231.123.123/phpmyadmin. i wonder where to configure phpmyadmin to only accept h t t p : / / localhost/phpmyadmin so i could use ssh tunneling to connect to it. cause i dont want other to get to the phpmyadmin page so they could brute force the password.

  • Squid Log Rotation and Sarg

    We have just setup squid as our proxy, and i was going to use Sarg to analyze the log files. I had initially set the Squid logs to rotate everyday so they dont get huge. The problem is i cant see an option in the squid config to read a folder full of squid log files (say *.log). Is there an easy way to do this or am i going to have to write a bash script or something to process them all into one before i get squid to read it? Cheers Luke

    i have a text file where each line looks like this: <img border=0 width=555 height=555 src=http://websitelinkimagelinkhere> each line is like that for like 1500 lines, i want to sort of 'grep' (i dont think that will work because it returns the whole line) each line for 'http://websiteimagelinkhere' output file should have newlines or tabs after each image link, like the original file. or if someone only knows a way to do this with each element being in a cell of the same column that would be okay too.

    i have application in spring .its is deployed in Linux machine and windows server 2008. i am using mysql 5.5.32 in my linux server and mysql 5.5.13 in windows server 2008. stored procedure in mysql is working perfectly in Linux machine but while calling stored procedure from windows,its is working partially that is some integer values is set as 0.if i restart the tomcat and call that stored procrdure then t is working. i dont know the exact reason .can any one help me to find issue.thanks in advance
