  • (Ubuntu - Lamp) phpmyadmin install error 404 not found

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

    I want to retrieve the cpu usage/free percentage from mpstat output. The bash cut can be used to retrieve such details but i dont know what should be the delimiter viz. I know that on the client you can initiate the machine policy and the user policy but I dont want to have to touch the client machine. Is there a settings that has a value for wait time etc? Thanks

  • Secure openVPN using IPTABLES

    Hey, I setup an openVPN server and it works ok. The next step is to secure it, I opted to use IPTABLES to only allow certain connections through but so far it is not working. I want to enable access to the network behind my openVPN server, and allow other services (web access), when iptables is disabaled or set to allow all this works fine, when using my following rules it does not. also note, I already configured openVPN itself to do what i want and it works fine, its only failing when iptables is started. Any help to tell me why this isnt working will appreciated here. These are the lines that I added in accordance with openVPN's recommendations, unfortunately testing these commands shows that they are requiered, they seem incredibly insecure though, any way to get around using them? # Allow TUN interface connections to OpenVPN server -A INPUT -i tun+ -j ACCEPT #allow TUN interface connections to be forwarded through other interfaces -A FORWARD -i tun+ -j ACCEPT # Allow TAP interface connections to OpenVPN server -A INPUT -i tap+ -j ACCEPT # Allow TAP interface connections to be forwarded through other interfaces -A FORWARD -i tap+ -j ACCEPT These are the new chains and commands i added to restrict access as much as possible unfortunately with these enabled, all that happens is the openVPN connection establishes fine, and then there is no access to the rest of the network behind the openVPN server note I am configuring the main iptables file and I am paranoid so all ports and ip addresses are altered, and -N etc appears before this so ignore that they dont appear. and i added some explanations of what i 'intended' these rules to do, so you dont waste time figuring out where i went wrong : 4 #accepts the vpn over port 1192 -A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 1192 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -j INPUT-FIREWALL -A OUTPUT -j ACCEPT #packets that are to be forwarded from 10.10.1.0 network (all open vpn clients) to the internal network (192.168.5.0) jump to [sic]foward-firewall chain -A FORWARD -s 10.10.1.0/24 -d 192.168.5.0/24 -j FOWARD-FIREWALL #same as above, except for a different internal network -A FORWARD -s 10.10.1.0/24 -d 10.100.5.0/24 -j FOWARD-FIREWALL # reject any not from either of those two ranges -A FORWARD -j REJECT -A INPUT-FIREWALL -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A INPUT-FIREWALL -p tcp -m tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT-FIREWALL -j REJECT -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT #80 443 and 53 are accepted -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -m tcp -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -m tcp -p tcp --dport 443 -j ACCEPT #192.168.5.150 = openVPN sever -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -m tcp -p tcp -d 192.168.5.150 --dport 53 -j ACCEPT -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -m udp -p udp -d 192.168.5.150 --dport 53 -j ACCEPT -A FOWARD-FIREWALL -j REJECT COMMIT now I wait :D

    hey, i have a laptop with 16'' wide screen, but the screen is broken and i want to buy only the screen and replace it.. my laptop is: HP Pavilion dv6-1050us what i know about the screen is that it's model number 512357-001 "16inch widescreen BrightView BV display panel IMR, with web camera and microphone".     Hi, What is the best way to install software in a linux machine if you dont have root permissions. I know that we can use few variables like PKG_CONFIG_PATH and switches like --prefix with configure to get a software installed in a local directory, but sometimes when there are recursive dependencies it is becoming tough for me to install all the packages manually. Is there a better automated way? Update: What i meant by recursive dependencies is: to install package A, i should install package B, which in turn requires package C to be installed

    when a server has more than 8 cores per CPU (total 16 logical procs) and ESX standard license is applied, what does it mean for VM performance? Since each VM on host is allowed only 4 vCPUs max VMWare ESX/ESXi limits the no of vCPUs per guest VM depending on the license: standard Lic = 4 vCPU Advanced Lic = 4 since i dont know exact number is there need to upgrade to Advanced version for any perf benefits if none of VMs have workloads that need more than 4 vCPUs?

    So. I tried partition my disk using Disk Utility for loading the operating system in the partition drive and installing it. But partition failed, and I could not do that. I tried Remote OSX install from another computer, my MBA crashes with error Hold Power Button to shutdown I dont have a super drive or 8 gigs hard disk. Could someone suggest me some way to install Snow Leopard OSX on my Macbook air ? Thanks !

(dont ask why, long story, I need them for each with different settings involving Audio Recording) I am very keen to install the new Ubuntu and get into a new OS, out of interest but I don't want to mess with my current 2 windows installations?     My problem is that im trying to setup a server farm but the nodes all come up as offline. I dont get a connection error saying that the servername is wrong, but get "offline" after it "test connection" I have: - Setup firewalls rules to allow Remote and file share on Domain and private network - Installed WWF 2.0 on both servers - Account that im using is a domain account that is Administrator on both machines. www01 is the same server as the controller below, but same results if i try www02 as primary. Any ideas?

  • Windows 7 120 GB disc drive C full

    I have windows 7 and my disc drive has a capacity of 120 GB. From one day to another it tells me that my disc C is full in a red bar but I dont have many programs installed. I deleted all of my videos, games, music, pictures, etc and I was able to free up 30 GB. I ran the disk cleaner and emptied the TEMP folder and garbage can but it still shows a 70GB used. Can I get some help from the experts PLEASE!!!

  • Decrypting EFS w/o altering timestamp - possible?

    Hi, I'd like to decrypt some EFS-encrypted files, but I do not know how to do that without altering the timestamp. When encrypting/decrypting files, the modified-time is set to the current time. I'd like to preserve the original timestamp, as the files have not really changed. Is this possible? Solutions i dont think work copy to/from FAT (timestamp resolution differs) copy to from Samba share (same) programmatically copy original timestamp and reapply after decryption (possible, but need to handle decryption time which may vary)
