• can't update nvida having error near the end of the install

  I had just got Ubuntu (first timer to Ubuntu so be very descriptive). I think there a problem with my Nvida update it won't let me update it. This is the name of the update in update manager NVIDIA binary xorg driver, kernel module and VDPAU library. • LinearLayout not expanding inside a ScrollView

  I have a LinearLayout inside a ScrollView that has android:layout_height="fill_parent", but it doesn't expand to the full height of the ScrollView. My layout looks something like: level layout layout_width layout_height 1 LinearLayout fill_parent fill_parent 2 LinearLayout fill_parent wrap_content 3 (some irrelevant stuff) 2 ScrollView fill_parent fill_parent <-- this expands full height 3 LinearLayout fill_parent fill_parent <-- this does not (has orientation=vertical) (following stuff probably are irrelevant, but just to be sure:) 4 TextView fill_parent fill_parent 4 LinearLayout fill_parent wrap_content I can see that the LinearLayout doesn't expand the full height of the ScrollView because in Eclipse in Android Layout Editor, if I select the ScrollView (in the Outline panel) it is highlighted with a red border that fills the screen to the bottom but when I select the LinearLayout its highlight doesn't expand to the bottom of the screen. How can I get it to do so? The effect I'm trying to achieve is to have some text and a button below it (inside the LinearLayout in level 4 there's just a button). The text can be big enough to need a scrollbar, in which case I want the user to have to scroll down in order to see the button. In case the text is not big enough for a scroll bar, I want the LinearLayout containing the button to stick to the bottom of the screen.

• How do I make Views fill the full width of their parent in my Android app?

  I have the following layout defined for one of my Activities: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TableLayout android:id="@+id/TableLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <TableRow android:id="@+id/TableRow01" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent"> <EditText android:text="Resource Name" android:id="@+id/ResourceName" android:lines="1" android:isScrollContainer="false"></EditText> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/TableRow02" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent"> <Button android:id="@+id/Tile" android:text="Tile"></Button> </TableRow> </TableLayout> The layout renders almost correctly, the only problem is that my text box and my button aren't occupying the full width of their respective rows. I've tried specifying fill_parent for the layout width properties, but to no avail, they still only occupy roughly half of the screen. Documentation overall for Android so far has been great, but there are a few scenarios like this one where I hit an invisible wall! Thanks for all the help!

• MySQL: Creating table with FK error (errno 150)

  I've tried searching on this error and nothing I've found helps me, so I apologize in advance if this is a duplicate and I'm just too dumb to find it. I've created a model with MySQL Workbench and am now attempting to install it to a mysql server. Using File Export Forward Engineer SQL CREATE Script... it outputs a nice big file for me, with all the settings I ask for. I switch over to MySQL GUI Tools (the Query Browser specifically) and load up this script (note that I'm going form one official MySQL tool to another). However, when I try to actually execute this file, I get the same error over and over SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1005 Can't create table './srs_dev/location.frm' (errno: 150) "OK", I say to myself, something is wrong with the location table. So I check out the definition in the output file. So I start to Google this issue and find all kinds of accounts that talk about an error with InnoDB style tables that fail with foreign keys, and the fix is to add "SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0;" to the SQL script. Well, as you can see, that's already part of the file that MySQL Workbench spat out. So, my question is then, why is this not working when I'm doing what I think I'm supposed to be doing?   I'm creating a popup window in a listactivity in the event onListItemClick. But they return 0. I guess that is because the layout isn't rendered yet. Does anyone have a clue, how can I control the size of the popup window without needing to use absolute pixel numbers?

  I am currently trying to return an array which contains information about a seat at a theate such as Seat number, Name, Price and Status. I am using a combobox where I want to list all vacant or reserved seats based upon choice. When I choose reserved seats in my combobox, I call upon a method using AddRange. This method is supposed to loop through an array containing all seats and their information. If a seat is Vacant, I add it to an array. When all is done, I return this array. However, I am dealing with a ArgumentNullException.   I am trying to produce a table with a different number of cells in each row. The first row is a header row (every other row contains cells). This header is the width of the table. The second row has 2 cells in it... the third has 1 cell... the fourth has 4 cells... the fifth and final row has 3 cells. I want the table set up so that the rows span the full width of the table. If the table is 1000px... The header would be 1000px wide the cells in the 2nd row would be 500px EACH the cell in the 3rd row would be 1000px the cells in the 4th row would be 250px EACH and the cells in the 5th row would be 333px, 334px, and 333px each (left-to-right) I figured out I could use colspan for the first 4 rows, but the 5th (with 3 cells) would require a non-integer value. The cells in the 5th row won't expand beyond their column without colspan that I can tell... trying the width:## CSS code inside a div tag for each cell inside the td tag creating a class or classes that define the cell widths id-ing each cell, with or without a div tag, and defining widths individually and adjuting the table-layout: option After several days, I'm now at my rope's end. The only thing I can come up with is deliberately tripling the number of cells in each row so that colspan would be all integer values. That sounds inconvenient and unreasonably difficult to format the table the way I'd like. It's a table of Batman movies for a website -- a practice website I'm building, in order to learn HTML/CSS. I've been working on-and-off with HTML for several months, and CSS for a few weeks. PS: It is not being used for layout, I am simply trying to adjust the layout of the table itself.

  I am having an issue making one of my elements 100% within an overall layout that is 100%. I have tried different positioning solutions and I either end up with hidden content the floats behind the footer at the bottom, or the content ends up going behind the footer, and carrys on after the footer.   Both in Actionscript3 and Javascript these statements give the same result: /\S/.test(null) = true /null/.test(null) = true /m/.test(null) = false /n/.test(null) = true Seems that null value is converted into string "null" in this case. Is this a known bug in Ecmascript or am I missing something?

  I am having an issue in SCOM 2007 R2. I am routinely getting the following errors: Failed to ping or bind to the RID Master FSMO role holder. The default gateway is not pingable. Failed to ping or bind to the Infrastructure Master FSMO role holder. The default gateway is not pingable. Failed to ping or bind to the Domain Naming Master FSMO role holder. The default gateway is not pingable. Failed to ping of bind to the Schema Master FSMO role holder. The default gateway is not pingable. The weird thing about these errors if I log into the server in question or if I log in to the SCOM server I can ping everything just fine. To top it all off the server in question is the role holder for 2 of the roles it is complaining about (RID and Infrastructure). Any thoughts as to what might be going on?

  I thought I'd share my experiences here. I work for a small business with only ~20 users. I wanted the ability to use managed client preferences to assign things like the software update server. Basically the ability to manage my Macs easily and in a native way. At first I tried the magic triangle solution, but I found this to be very complicated. Not only does it require a Mac OS X Server, but it gives you two points of failure. Additionally each Mac workstation must be bound to both servers. Eventually I sucked it up and went with the schema changes documented here. I was hesitant at first, because the instructions require a lot of manual work. However it was fairly basic and only took me about an hour and a half. Below you'll find the schema changes file that was a result of my work. I followed the instructions exactly and double checked everything, after six months of having this in place things have been running great. Too good to not share.   When trying to do some science to answer this question, I took a Windows 7 guest on a Server 2008 R2 host being managed by SCVMM 2012 and ran Prime95 on it to just generate some CPU usage. Here's the Guest: The Hyper-V host shows 12%, which is 1/8 cores (which is what is allocated), so that's looking correct: But SCVMM is showing 0%: I have left the stress test running for a long time, thinking that maybe SCVMM averages out over a long time (I thought it was 9 minutes, but I've been known to be wrong; just don't tell my wife). Why is SCVMM showing 0% when everything else seems to disagree?

  I'm just starting to setup DPM 2010 in a test environment with a Domain Controller and a File Server. Everything seem to be working fairly well and I can get all of my backup jobs to succeed except for the "Computer\System Protection" backups. Both servers are running fully up to date 64 bit Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 1. The error that is being provided is: DPM cannot create a backup because Windows Server Backup (WSB) on the protected computer encountered an error (WSB Event ID: 517, WSB Error Code: 0x8078001D). (ID 30229 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909FB) This Microsoft Knowledge Base article describes the issue perfectly and provides a hotfix. I downloaded the hotfix, moved it onto the affected server, attempt to run it and receive the following error: The update is not applicable to your computer. I've verified that I have indeed downloaded the 64 bit version. According to this thread the hotfix got rolled into Service Pack 1, yet I'm still experiencing the issue. Both machines do have the Windows Server Backup feature installed. Can anybody point me in the right direction? What am I missing?

  What exactly is the CPU Average field in VMM 2012 showing me? I'm running Server 2008 R2 with VMM 2012. My server has 2x16 core CPUs installed. An example virtual machine has 4 virtual processors, and shows 20% CPU usage. Is that: 20% of the entire system's available CPU power? 20% of 4 of the 32 core's CPU power? 20% of one core's CPU? (in which case it could go as high as 400%) Something else entirely? How can I tell how much of the entire system's CPU power is being used (all 32 cores)? Edit: Well, I can tell for sure it's not 20% of the entire system's CPU power - since the entire server's CPU averages add up to well over 100% right now.

I copied a Job (Agent) doing the following: Copied the .agnt file Copied the associated perl script The problem is that one or the other job (changes randomly) does not run.   We have a Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Infrastructure that consists of two domain controllers. Bound to the Active Directory Domain is a Mac OS X Mavericks Server 10.9.3. The server runs Profile Manager and VPN Services. My Active Directory users are able to authenticate to the Profile Manager, but not the VPN. I have found several threads on other forums of other users reporting similar issues, here is just one of many references: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5174619 It appears as though the issue is related to a CHAP authentication failure. Can anyone suggest what next troubleshooting steps I might take? Is there a way to liberalize the authentication mechanism to include MSCHAP? Here is an excerpt of the transaction from the logs. • Pidgin To Shoretel Call Manager IM

  Is anyone out there using Pidgin to connect with Shoretel's Instant Messaging? Shoretel 9.2. According to one of the docs I found on Shoretel's website, it should be connecting as a SIMPLE client but so far no dice. It keeps getting an error resolving the server. There's no proxy involved that I know of. I was just wondering if anyone else had this particular configuration and if they'd made it work correctly.
