  • How can I create a Zerofilled value using JavaScript?

    - by Wilco
    What is the recommended way to zerofill a value in JavaScript? I imagine I could build a custom function to pad zeros on to a typecasted value, but I'm wondering if there is a more direct way to do this? Note: By "zerofilled" I mean it in the database sense of the word (where a 6-digit zerofilled representation of the number 5 would be "000005").

  • Appending a prefix when using join in Perl

    - by syker
    I have an array of strings that I would like to use the join function on. However, I would like to prefix each string with the same string. Can I do this in one line as opposed to iterating through the array first and changing each value before using join?

  • Matlab regex if statement

    - by Dan
    I want to have matlab take user input but accept both cases of a letter. For example I have: function nothing = checkGC(gcfile) if exist(gcfile) reply = input('file exists, would you like to overwrite? [Y/N]: ', 's'); if (reply == [Yy]) display('You have chosen to overwrite!') else $ Do nothing end end The if statement obviously doesn't work, but basically I want to accept a lowercase or uppcase Y. Whats the best way to do this?

  • Why is C++ backward compatible with C ? Why isn't there some "pure" C++ language ?

    - by gokoon
    C and C++ are different languages, blababla we know that. But if those language are different, why is it still possible to use function like malloc or free ? I'm sure there are all sort of dusty things C++ has because of C, but since C++ is another language, why not remove those things to make it a little less bloat and more clean and clear ? Is it because it allows programmers to work without the OO model or because some compilers doesn't support high-level abstract features of C++ ?

    Is there something similar to jQuery's live()-method in dojo? I have some content that's being loaded with ajax, and need that content to get the same event connections. dojo.query(".allTheseElements").connect("onclick", function() { /***/ } And then have the dynamically loaded content fire on this too.
