  How can a voxel terrain (marching cubes) be textured without triplanar mapping ? The goal being to have more artistic freedom. I think, I could unwrap the mesh while extracting the isosurface then use projective painting. But I do not know how to handle terrain modifications without breaking the texture.   So I’ve been tweeting the last little while “Rolling with the punches” and I’ve had some people ask me what that meant. Whether you’re running a conference (like I am this week), or a project, or a birthday party for a 2 year old, you need to be ready to handle those things that are unexpected. Risk mitigation can only go so far and its at those times that you need to become resourceful. So let me tell you what the last few days have been like. Today is the first day of Prairie Dev Con Winnipeg, a conference that I run. On Friday I was informed that my keynote speaker had lost his voice, one of my speakers had a family emergency and had to back out, and I got a warning from another that he was travelling over the weekend and if there was a storm or something he may not be able to get back by Monday for his talk. A storm didn’t happen, but their car did break down and he was delayed. Finally, Saturday night I took my printing order to Staples. It was at 5 and they closed at 6, and I had a bunch of surveys to be printed and cut. The girl working said that she’d have it ready by the next day (Sunday). Her intent was to come in the next morning and finish the job. Unfortunately, she had to be hospitalized that night and never made it into work…and never informed anyone of the remaining work. They found out at 3pm when I came to pick it up and there was no way they’d be able to cut everything in time. So how did we roll with these punches? - Miguel, my keynote speaker, was a trooper and was able to do the keynote but asked that his session get moved from Monday to Tuesday. This is why I wait until the last day before printing out schedules, they can change up to the event and even later. - I was able to move some sessions around to accommodate my stranded speaker and fill the empty slot from the speaker that couldn’t make it. - Staples was able to get me half the cut surveys so I took those and my wife will pick up the rest today. I altered how we’d collect session surveys, and actually I think it’ll work better. So all of this is to say, plan but also plan for what you can’t plan for – there will be things that happen that blindside you, that you’re not sure how to handle or solve. Stop, take a deep breath, and don’t feel that you need to limit yourself to the boundaries that you initially set for yourself. Roll with the punch and learn from it so that you can avoid the blow next time. Now, back to the conference! D

However, the image size for Ubuntu 12.04 is 732MB, which is too large for a CD, which can hold only 700MB. The maintainers of Ubuntu 12.04 say the image size will never go over 700MB, and indeed, the download size seemed to be 689MB. Brasero says it won't burn the CD because the file is too big, what's going on?

I've made a php file where i can upload the csv file and it analyses the fields n stuff and does the actual importing. but it can only handle small fiels max 5mb. so that's a 100 files and actually pretty slow(uploading) is there another way? I have to repeat this process every month because the data in the file changes every month it's about 12 000 000 lines :D

  The version-numbers for our jars have to be longer them x.x.x. We would rather need x.x.x.x to integrate some old-fashioned self-made mechanism. This is, because we tag our software with x.x.x and as soon as we have a delivery to a customer one specific jar has to be build exactly at this point of time to fit to another backend, which communicates with our program. For that reason this one jar has the version 2.3.4.1, when generated and in next delivery of the same Version it is build and named 2.3.4.2. Now artifactory cannot handle this an doesn't save more than x.x.x.2 in some cases. So we thought of maybe edit the regular expression in the maven repository layout (see attached Screenshot) Because testing the path in the field below shows, that it cannot handle the version number. Of course for the rest of our jars still x.x.x has to work.. For Example here is the maven-metadata.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <metadata> <groupId>com.firm</groupId> <artifactId>someid</artifactId> <version>1.5.1</version> <versioning> <latest>1.5.1</latest> <release>1.5.1</release> <versions> <version>1.4.62</version> </versions> <lastUpdated>20120926073942</lastUpdated> </versioning> </metadata> The folder structure looks like: someid 1.4.62 1.4.62.1 1.4.62.2 1.4.62.3 If we deploy an new artifact version (1.4.62.1), the maven-metadata.xml contains the 1.4.62.1 version. But the artifactory overrides the version number (1.4.62.x) to (1.4.62) after an unspecified time. It seems that the artifactory only support major, minor and revision numbers, and deletes the buildnumber. Now we looking for a solution do disable this behavior. We use the JFrog Artifactory version 2.5.0 (rev. 13086). Any ideas, maybe? Thanks in andvance
