  • Using SmtpClient.Send to send ~500-2500 emails what way would be faster.

    I'm needing to send around 500-2500 emails out at a time to internal email accounts. I'm wondering which was would be faster both for the mail server and for my client app. Should I send multiple emails with just different TO addresses, or just one with multiple BCC addresses? I tried testing this by sending a bunch to my own email and the multiple emails method work, but with the BCC and a single message I only get that single message in my inbox. Shouldn't I be getting as many copies as the number of times I put my address in the BCC line?

    I need to highlight an email addresses in text but not highlight them if contained in HTML tags, content, or attributes. For example, the string [email protected] must be converted to <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> But email addresses in the string <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> must not be processed. I've tried something like this regexp: (?<![":])[a-zA-Z0-9._%-+]+@[a-zA-Z0-9._%-]+.[a-zA-Z]{2,6}(?!") but it doesn't work properly.

  • Delete file after sharing via intent.

    I'm trying to delete a temporary file after sharing it via android's Intent.ACTION_SEND feature. Right now I am starting the activity for a result and in OnActivityResult, I am deleting the file. Unfortunately this only works if I am debugging it with a breakpoint, but when I let it run freely and say, email the file, the email has no attachment. I think what is happening is my activity is deleting the file before it had been emailed. What I don't get is why, shouldn't onActivityResult only be called AFTER the other activity is finished? I have also tried deleting the file in onResume, but no luck. Is there a better way to do this?

    I'm learning PHP and I'm trying to write a simple email script. I have a function (checkEmpty) to check if all the forms are filled in and if the email adress is valid (isEmailValid). I'm not sure how to return true checkEmpty funciton.   • Display local image in iPhone HTML mail

    Hello there, In my app, I am composing an HMTL email message with the 3.0+ MFMailComposeViewController. To do this, I created an HTML file, with some placeholders. In my code, I read the HTML file, and with replaceOccurrencesOfString, I replace the placeholders with data from the app. In that way, I compose the body of the email I want to send out. This is all working very nicely, except for the fact, that in my HTML file, I have an <img src='imageplaceholderpath' /> tag. Somehow, I cannot figure out, with what I should replace this imageplaceholderpath, in order to refer to an image that resides in my app. Is this a valid approach at all, and if so, what would be the syntax/logic behind the path I should put there?     I have an upload script that write a index.html file, I modified it to mail me the results, however the point to the root, since the email isn't in the root, the image doesn't load. How do I append the code to add "http://www.home.html/uploaded" prior to the ". $value ." so that the images show up in the email.     Hello Everyone, I am working in a mailing application in C# and, basically, I need to be able to determine which recipients successfully received the message, which ones did not, no matter what was the failure reason. In summary, I need an exception to be thrown whenever the email address does not exist, for example. However, SmtpClient.Send does not throw an exception in this case, so I'd need to monitor the delivery failure replies and parse them, maybe. I know this is not a simple task, so I'd ask you experts some tips on how to handle the main issues with email sending. Thanks in advance!!

  • Why doesn't BlackBerry let me click on this link?

    This is a link in an HTML email.. Other links in this email work, but this one does not get recognized in a BlackBerry as a link, so you can't click on it. Does anyone know why that might be?     Can't believe how difficult this seems to be all I want to is to validate a user inout using javascript to make sure that it is an email address.   • Are there any CMS editors out there which users can populate locked down HTML templates with content

    Hi there, We work in email marketing, creating HTML/TEXT emails for clients. In essence we design HTML email templates for our clients. Clients then post us content (via a form) to populate these templates before we send them out. Right now we do this manually, basically cutting and pasting the content from their submitted form into the relevant parts of the template, which is time consuming and particularly mind-numbing. What we're looking for (and have so far been unable to find) is a simple system which will allow us to capture this client content in a sort of WYSIWYG HTML format. Basically they populate a locked down version of the template, entering text where necessary, before submitting to us. This is our most basic requirement, and a friend of mine kindly demo'd a proof of concept here: http://advantageone.co.uk/mbe/ Note: If you click on a text area in the body of the template, an editor pop ups. Now what we are looking for a CMS editor out there which can be easily adapted to do the above and the following for our end clients? User login View previously submitted campaigns that they have created and edit these Create new - selecting from template (assigned to their user/client id), perhaps being able to add new rows to the template. And have these HTML templates locked down so they can only edit what they're allowed too (like in the demo above), and perhaps make some areas required. Perhaps have a simple workflow or approval built in Allow us to lock submitted campaigns after a point so they can't be further edited, and as administrators view all campaigns from all users Be so incredibly simple, with any extraneous functionality switched off Essentially an extremley simple stripped down CMS, but we use the outputted HTML for sending out as an email, rather than publishing onto the web. Now to the actual dilemma: we're looking for something really simple, and the above sounds like a CMS. But we haven't been able to find anything that already does, or can be easily adapted to do this. Everything is either too complex, or simple and inflexible. We're sure there must be something off the shelf available, rather than us coding something ourselves. But we've kind of got stuck. Does anyone know of a system, or could recommend a system that can do the above out of the box, or with a few days tweaking? Something similar to the email sending by exception notifier when there is an error in Rails app. I wonder because now we have no way to find out if someone hits an unexpected app spawner or other error (like memory limit etc.).
