• Makefile issue with compiling a C++ program

  I recently got MySQL compiled and working on Cygwin, and got a simple test example from online to verify that it worked. The test example compiled and ran successfully. However, when incorporating MySQL in a hobby project of mine it isn't compiling which I believe is due to how the Makefile is setup, I have no experience with Makefiles and after reading tutorials about them, I have a better grasp but still can't get it working correctly. When I try and compile my hobby project I recieve errors such as: Obj/Database.o:Database.cpp:(.text+0x492): undefined reference to `_mysql_insert_id' Obj/Database.o:Database.cpp:(.text+0x4c1): undefined reference to `_mysql_affected_rows' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [build] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 Here is my Makefile, it worked with compiling and building the source before I attempted to put in MySQL support into the project. The LIBMYSQL paths are correct, verified by 'mysql_config'. • fancybox encoding issue

  i am using fancybox.net for my light boxes. it works great with images. but when i use iframe option i am having problems with encoding. i use hebrew and english and russian on my website. when i use UTF-8 on the iframe page i get squares instead of hebrew letters. when i change to iso-8859-8 i have hebrew but inverted, and russian goes: ??????????? any idea? my website is UTF-8 and every thing works great.. except fancybox :(

• Intermittent Issue Writing to Google Appengine Datastore

  Hi, I have a functioning app and recently have had intermittent problems writing to the datastore. I did not make any relevant code changes, however in the last few days my attempts to write to the datastore sometimes work and sometimes don't. I am trying to save an object that is in a many to one relationship with an existing persisted parent. So, the logic works like this: 1) Parent pulled from the datastore 2) Child created / instantiated using constructor 3) Parent.addSingleChild(child); // the "addSingleChild" method just adds the object argument to the collection of children 4) child.setParent(Parent); // sets the Parent object to the parent field I am using transactions as explained in the documentation ending with "finally {if (tx.isActive()) {tx.rollback(); } }" When the servlet is called, the parent is called from the datastore and the child object is created and added to the many to one mapping to the pre-existing parent. The child should automatically be persisted, since the parent is already persistent, and the child is added to the collection of children that map to the parent. And it worked this way in the past. However, to be sure, i did add a pm.makePersistent(child). Doesn't seem to help, still have the intermittent problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and if you need to see the actual code I can post. Thanks

• Layout issue regarding a JQuery smoothDivScroll

  Hi all. I have been scratching my head for a while on this one. I dont really play around with HTML formatting that often. I have a smoothDivScroll using JQuery (http://maaki.com/thomas/SmoothDivScroll/) to scroll through dynamically generated images. What I want it for, is to have multiple small images lined up right next to each other, and each image has a section of writting underneath. about 25 images, 140px width each in a 7560px span. I acheived this great by putting a table inside the div, and each image inside a<td>.This works problem i have, is that i need the slider to start from the furthest RIGHT image, and slide automatically left. This is acheived by (if you look at the link above) - startAtElementId: But if I am using a table inside the div, it is taking the TABLE as a element and not the TD... so it doesnt work. I know this because if I change every image to be inside tables (i.e 25 tables), it works... but obviously then the formatting is not how I want. Can anyone think of a way I can use this slider (modifications to the js code or not), with 25 images that NEED to be right next to each other, no gap. I guess this is more of a formatting question, than about the slider. • jquery draggable/droppable issue

  Hey guys I have a drag and drop function that does not fully work. What I want to do is be able to drag and drop a picture into a div and have that picture pop up in the div. I have a list of 2 pictures right now, so I have the following function echoed for each picture. Both pictures are draggable and droppable, but the first one is the only one that appears in the div, regardless of which picture gets dragged in. I am not sure what is wrong because the jquery function seems to be unique to each picture. • Issue reading in a cell from Excel with Apache POI

  I am trying to use Apache POI to read in old (pre-2007 and XLS) Excel files. My program goes to the end of the rows and iterates back up until it finds something that's not either null or empty. Then it iterates back up a few times and grabs those cells. This program works just fine reading in XLSX and XLS files made in Office 2010. I get the following error message: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NumberFormatException: empty String at sun.misc.FloatingDecimal.readJavaFormatString(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Double.parseDouble(Unknown Source) at the line: num = Double.parseDouble(str); from the code: str = cell.toString(); if (str != "" || str != null) { System.out.println("Cell is a string"); num = Double.parseDouble(str); } else { System.out.println("Cell is numeric."); num = cell.getNumericCellValue(); } where the cell is the last cell in the document that's not empty or null. When I try to print the first cell that's not empty or null, it prints nothing, so I think I'm not accessing it correctly.

• ASP.NET web form Routing issue via UNC Path

  I create a IIS 7.0 website via UNC path to load .aspx to dynamic compile files and runs. however, it's running perfect. I always use IIS URL Rewrite module 2 to rewrite my site URL n' its perfect, too. Today, I wanna use System.Web.Routing to implement url rewrite but I encountered difficulties... When I wrote code in Global.asax: System.Web.Routing.RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("TEST", "AAA/{prop}", "~/BBB/CCC.aspx"); And it just CANNOT reDirect to /BBB/CCC.aspx When I type the URL(like: xx.xx.xx.xx/BBB/CCC.aspx) in browser directly, it runs normally that I want. (so it proof CCC.aspx is in right path.) thus, I copy all of the code and open VS2010 running with IIS 7.5 Express locally, it works perfect! e.g: in browser URL I type xx.xx.xx.xx/AAA/1234, it will turn to page xx.xx.xx.xx/BBB/CCC.aspx (Works perfect!) Why??? help me plz. thanks. Update: I think I should consider not UNC path to make it error! when I move all code to physical disk and setup IIS 7.0 to monitor this Folder, it still not works! But the same code run in VS2010 + IIS 7.5 Express it works!? so strange!

• jQuery UI sortable issue

  When I try to use a sortable event . (For instance the stop() event) It only works when I bind it using : $('.selector').bind('sortstop', function(event, ui) { ... }); rather than $('.selector').sortable({ stop: function(event, ui) { ... } }); Is there a missing piece in this? The only reason I ask is because when I bind using the actual bind() method it's not giving me access to the event or ui parameters I pass in. I'm always returned undefined.

• Web API Getting Http 500 error : Issue Solved See Below

I then added a customer configuration in Global: public static void CustomizeConfig(HttpConfiguration config) { config.Formatters.Remove(config.Formatters.XmlFormatter); var json = config.Formatters.JsonFormatter; json.SerializerSettings.ContractResolver = new CamelCasePropertyNamesContractResolver(); } I am still receiving an Http 500 in API Controller ONLY and at a loss as to why. Any ideas? UPDATE: It appears using lazy loading caused the problem. When I set the associated properties to NON-VIRTUAL the Test API provided the necessary JSON string. However, whereas before I had the Vendor class included, I only have VendorId. I really wanted to included the associated classes. Any ideas? I know there are alot of smart people out there. Anyone?

• Issue with Visual C++ 2010 (Express) External Tools command

  I posted this on SuperUser...but I was hoping the pros here at SO might have a good idea about how to fix this as well.... Normally we develop in VS 2005 Pro, but I wanted to give VS 2010 a spin. We have custom build tools based off of GNU make tools that are called when creating an executable. This is the error that I see whenever I call my external tool: ...\gnu\make.exe): * couldn't commit memory for cygwin heap, Win32 error 487 The caveat is that it still works perfectly fine in VS2005, as well as being called straight from the command line. Also, my external tool is setup exactly the same as in VS 2005. Is there some setting somewhere that could cause this error to be thrown?

  hi, i have 3 data grid placed working fine with expand and collapse. now i have an requirement where i have an grid with four columns starting from name age mailId address once user moves mouse over the *name column only. i need to call the MouseEnter Event* here i am showing an pop grid whereas when i move mouse over the other columns like i need call the MouseLeave Event here i need to hide the pop grid right now once user click on the row on any column values i am showing an pop up grid with all the details of that row. here i am using Selection Changed Event is there any way i can achieve this functionality like on move mouse over only the first column need to display the data and call the mouse events thanks in advance looking for an help. i am at few steps away from the solution let me know how to solve it. prince

I wanted to put put that list in the session as: facesContext........put("mylist", mylist); And in the getters of the mylist, I have public List<MyClass> getMyList() { if(mylist== null){ mylist= (List<MyClass>) FacesContext......getSessionMap().get("mylist"); } return mylist; } Now the problem is whene ever i click on paging button to go to second page, only the first records are displayed, I know i am missing some thing, and I have few questions: Is the way of putting the list in session correct. Is this the way I should be calling the list in my case. Thnaks in advance...

• Rails 3: habtm migration, primary key issue

  I'm trying to setup a migration file for a habtm relationship, however when I run the migration I'm getting the following error: Primary key is not allowed in a has_and_belongs_to_many join table (parts_vehicles). Here is my migration file (20110111035950_create_parts_vehicles.rb): class CreatePartsVehiclesJoinTable < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :parts_vehicles, :id => false do |t| t.integer :part_id t.integer :vehicle_id end end def self.down drop_table :parts_vehicles end end The documentation example states to use :id => false to disable a primary key from being generated, but I'm still getting the error.

• issue displaying total row on devexpress pivot grid when paging

  Hi, I'm working with devexpress pivot grid, so I added the paging function and everything is working fine, the only thing I need to do is display the total row on each page, at this moment it is displayed just in the last one, I was looking on DevExpress documentation and it looks like pivot grid calculate the total and gran total automatically and I don't find any thing about my task, anybody knows how can I do this???   In my application (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cabot.beastly&feature=search_result), I am using facebook-android api to login and share to Facebook. It's works fine in emulator and Samsung Galaxy Tab when i tested. But some bugs are reporting by the client, facebook login doesn't load. I think they tested in a device with Android2.1. What are the reasons to don't load facebook login Dialog?. How can i find the reason for this bug?.
