  • Thunderbird 3.1.7 file system and file extensions

    I have lost all email messages and folders in my Thunderbird program. Where can I look for them? The messages were organized in folders for several years. My system is Windows XP. I have looked in the Thunderbird Profiles default profile folder. I can see Inbox and Trash but none of the other folders I have set up are visible. I cannot directly open Inbox or Trash so I don't know if my lost messages are in these folders. Others in the Community Forum seem to have the same problem but no one has answered them or me. Is there someone in this community who can help? Thank you, Sharon Bode

    I need to unarchive a file to the /Developer folder. Install Qt for iOS SDK The Qt for iOS SDK has been configured to be installed in the default Xcode installation location /Developer. It is not possible to install the SDK into another location without first rebuilding it, as the install location is contained within the qmake executable, and that is built as part of Qt. To install the Qt for iOS SDK, open ‘Terminal’ and type the following from the command­-line: tar –xf qt­-everywhere-­ios­-4.8.0­-xxx.tar.gz –C /Developer (where xxx is an identifier which can be used to determine the build of the iOS SDK eg. arm7-­-nossl) This will install the Qt for iOS SDK into the following path: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/share/qt­-everywhere­-ios­-4.8.0 When I perform the operation I get the information: Lions-Mac:Documents User$ tar -xf qt-everywhere-ios-4.8.0-arm7-nossl.tar.gz -C /Developer tar: could not chdir to '/Developer' Any idea what is wrong?

  • How do you get around security warnings when redirecting AppData?

    I've recently set up folder redirection for my user profile in a domain. For now, I've redirected AppData, Desktop, Pictures, Documents and Favorites. So far, so good. But now I've noticed a quite disturbing side effect of the whole thing. Whenever I click any of my pinned elements on the task bar, I get the following warning: The shortcuts get synced as well and are no longer trusted. They're located at \\DFS\UserData\Profiles\OliverSalzburg\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar That seems like it could be a problem when rolling it out to the whole company.

  • How to redirect domain to new server?

    I've got a domain registered with a hosting company who I no longer wish to use. I'm happy for them to keep managing my domain, but I want my domain to point to my new (better) server which i've just bought and set up. I know my new server's IP address and Nameservers, What do I need to do in my domain management control panel to make it point to my new server? Change the "A" record to the new IP? Change the nameservers to my new hosts nameservers? Is that it? Are there no other record on either server which need changing? I always get confused by who needs to do what when it comes to domains... Thanks, Hugh

    I transfered the configs of a dhcp server from one server to another both running Windows Server 2003 R2 following http [://] support.microsoft.com/kb/325473. The new server has a statically configured ip(outside the scope) like the old one. Stopped the server on the old, and started up in the new server (authorized too) - but when I ipconfig /renew from a client its network interface fails with all 0.0.0.0 (or 169...*). I read somewhere I need to reconcile the scope to sync the new registry values ('ll try this tomorrow). What other troubleshooting steps can I take other than these (which didn't help)? Things work fine when the old server resurrects and the new one is taken down. The new server showed there was no requests for offer.

  • NIS AD password synch for new accounts

    I have a Win2k3R2 DC with NIS. All is working well but its no longer synching the passwords for new accounts. When creating a new AD user, NIS does its thing and sends its Unix account to the synched linux server. It's doing everything its supposed to do but not the users password to the server (getent passwd returns the ABCD!efgh12345$67890 password for the new account). Thinking that password synchronization is not working, I changed the password of an existing working account and it synchs the new password. If I delete a new or old AD user, it deletes it on the linked linux server as well. All this tells me that NIS is doing its thing (at least with existing accounts) No updates have been installed on the DC. I am not even sure where to start here.

    A task: To find all new files and subfolders under some root folder (let us say Documents) and to copy them to other disk (j: in this case) Command line used: robocopy c:\users\valery\documents j:\robocopy /XO /E /MAXAGE:20131030 /XD Result: A full folders tree created. Only new files copyed, as supposed. It's good A point is, that I do not want to create all subfolders on a target disk, if there are no new files in them.     Is there a way to increase how much is cached for thumbnail views of pictures? If I'm looking through a folder of .png files for example, with "medium" set as the view size. The screen will eventually fill all the thumbnails with the appropriate pictures. But as I scroll down it takes a while for the pictures to fill in again. I would like a way for "off screen" pictures to fill in before I get the that section of the screen. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Is there a website/app/forum/newsletter where I can followup different softwares or technology and feature soon after their new releases. i.e. ipad iphone ios 7 release as soon as it will release with its feature. andriod next version soon after it release with its feature. coreldraw x7 whenever it will rlease zend framework new version when ever it will release. mac php new version photoshop new version ....... there are lot more list than that which goes on and on and Its difficult to follow up new technology as they come out. Any better and less time consuming way to follow up.

  • Moving the home directory to a new drive

    I have no more space left on my hard-drive. So I bought a new one and I would like this hard-drive to be the home folder. I thought of copying all the stuff I have on the home folder to the hard-drive partition. and creating a symbolic-link from ~ to there. The problem I have is that I can't really delete the home folder while I'm logged in as the current user. Is there a way to log out, and log in as root in Linux Mint? I want to be able to do this without a live-CD solution.

  • WIndows 7: would like recursively check a directory for changes to files and folders since my last visit

    I have found varieties of this question. Most of them fall under monitoring and others are said to be buggy. A continuously monitoring program won't help me and neither will a list of the most recently modified files. I would like to check if the directory, its sub folders and files have changed since my last visit. It seems to me that I'd likely need a program that maintains and index of that directory and compares it with its condition when I tell it to. Then that program could output to a log for my use. This is on Windows 7 over a shared network, the folder(s) I'd like to check have 4-50GB of data. I did find this, however I am still learning how to program.     Hi, I have a website using asp.net mvc in which I need to embed a flash file in view. I am unable to set the relative path for the flash file. Given below is the code I am using: AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0', 'width', '487', 'height', '359', 'menu', 'false', 'movie', 'images/butterfly', 'quality', 'high', 'allowscriptaccess', 'sameDomain', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' ); where I copied butterfly.swf in a directory called images. images directory resides in the views folder. If I use code behind( default.aspx default.aspx.cs) in a different solution with the same folder strucuture, browser is able to load the flash file.   • git can I speed up committing?

    I have a big repository in a shared folder. I use git from within a VM on that folder. Everything works nice, but the repository is big and git's searching through all directories and files when committing is slow. I cannot move this repository out of the shared folder. I tried to git add specific files and directories, but when I do git commit -m "something" it still goes off onto it's oddyssey through the directory tree. Can I do commits that ignore the rest of the tree?

    So far I know that FileSystemWatcher can look into a folder and if any of the files inside that folder is changed,modifies,.etc... then we can handle it. But I am not sure which filter and event I should use in my scenario: Watch for a Folder, If a file is added to that folder, do XYZ ... So In my scenario I don't care if an existing file is changed,etc..those should be ignored...only do XYZ if and only if a new file has been added to that Folder... Which event and filter do you recommended for this scenario?

  • SCCM 2007 R2 missing boot.wim files from OSD\Boot folder

    I have just installed SCCM 2007 R2 and when I went to deploy an OS i found that there is a problem with the boot.wim...There isnt one in the osd\ folder on the SCCM server. I then tried to use other WIM files and they all failed with "Error: Errors You can not import this boot image. Only finalized boot images are supported" I even tried to recreate the wim with DISM and it still would not accept it. Any ideas.

  • Cannot read/write FTP directory vsftpd on centos 6.0 (empty folder)

    I have Centos 6.0 and installed vsftp with YUM, I added a user with Webmin panel, set its home dir to "/var/www/html" and its shell to "/bin/sh", user id is 500, user group is same as name: "adrian_ftp". When I start a ftp program it logs in but the remote folder always shows empty. I set directory owner and group to adrian_ftp:adrian_ftp , no change, I also made them 0777, no change. Any ideas? I tried for over 3-4 hours :|

Of course I can define my own command (e.g. CHD.BAT) doing something like this: @echo off cd %1 if exist init.bat ( init.bat ) else ( color 0F title Command Prompt ) But I wonder if something like this would be possible using the standard CD command.
