• How to set Chrome's user script version number.

  Hey. I've been wondering how I might set the version number displayed for user-scripts in Chrome's extension tab So far the obvious methods have failed: // ==UserScript== // @version 1.1.5 // @uso:version 1.1.5 // ==/UserScript== I know Greasemonkey for Firefox doesn't use a version value, but since Chrome actually displays a version number, I thought it might. Perhaps this is a feature that has not been implemented? Or maybe it was never intended to be there, but it is there because extensions have version numbers, and user-scripts are currently installed as extensions? (I'm using the Linux beta, version: 4.0.249.43, by the way) Thanks. Edit: Seems this is listed as an unconfirmed bug in the Chromium bug database (Issue 30760)

• I need to stop execution during recursive algorithm

  Hey, I have a problem in choosing the right method to accomplish my goal. I'm working on Algorithms teaching system, I'm using C#. I need to divide my algorithm into steps, each step will contain a recursion. I have to stop execution after each step, user can then move to the next step(next recursion) using a button in my GUI. After searching, threads was the right choice, but I found several methods: (Thread.sleep/interrupt): didn't work, my GUI freezed !! (Suspend/Resume): I've read that it's a bad idea to use. (Waithandles): still reading about them. (Monitor wait/resume). I don't have much time to try and read all previous methods, please help me in choosing the best method that fits my system.Any suggestions are extremal welcomed.

  Hey All, Say I have a post table containing the fields post_id and parent_post_id. I want to return every record in the post table with a count of the "depth" of the post. By depth, I mean, how many parent and ancestor records exist. • Best way to deal with multiple layouts in symfony

  Hey folks. I'm looking for the best way to do something simple in symfony. Basically, I have a module in which all the pages will contain the same header and footer. That module also shares the same general layout as the other modules. I'm just wondering, should I create one file and have my content pages called up as partials or should all files have their own content and somehow call the two other templates. • Php writing to file - empty ?

  Hey, I've been struggling with writing a single string into a file. I'm using just a simple code under Slackware 13: $fp = fopen('/my/absolute/path/data.txt', 'w'); fwrite($fp, 'just a testing string...'); fclose($fp); The file gets created (if it's not already created) but it's empty ?! The directory in which this file is written is owned by apache's user & group (daemon.daemon) and has 0777 permissions. This has never happened to me before. I'm curious what's the reason I'm not able to write inside the file ? Thanks in advance.

• Wrapper not resizing to full content size

  Hey guys, I have a div called #background. I have most of my content in it and I want it to resize when I add more content. As far as I know the way to do this is to assign it no height? I have done this in my layout.css file. As far as I can see, my #background doesnt close until after the last bit of content which is what I want, but it's not working. It seems to be just stopping after my #special offers div, I#m not sure why this is? Colm

But at the same time i want to check if the TDs of the THs in the tbody is containing any input elements. When I call a pdo query connection within a function and the connection is included outside the function, the connection becomes undefined. Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? • Protect files from svn commit.

  Hey, imagine a plain webapp with a log4j.properties which is under version control. I can't add it to svn:ignore because its a mandatory file. If i make custom changes for development and i don't want to commit them, i have to watch out for accidently commits. For one file it's easy to handle, with 3 or more files it becomes creepy. Is there a way to disable these files temporary from svn commit? So its easiert to commit? I'm working with svn and subclipse.

  hi i play a game called maplestory because a LOT of my friends do and i want to talk to them online and they will only chat on maplestory because they are playing it. i would like to build a program that will send my chats to maplestory and it will be a small little chat window because i can't do much well im chatting on Maplestory. i have tryed sending my fake input to maplestory but their anti-hack shield blocks it, i can't find a way by it with out running a by pass to their anti-hack shield which i don't really want to do :( so i need a way to send stuff by so i can chat. please don't tell me to use a by pass i really would like to find a way to leave it running. also i only really need keyboard input not really the mouse because to chat you only have to hit enter then type text then enter to send, but hey it might come in useful. also if the way only works for the top window i can just make something that swhitchs back and forth.

  Hey guys, I have the following classes: class Vigil < ActiveRecord::Base after_update :do_something_cool private def do_something_cool # Sweet code here end end class NewsFeedObserver < ActionController::Caching::Sweeper observe Vigil def after_update # Create a news feed entry end end Everything works as expected. The after_update in the sweeper requires that the do_something_cool method in the model has finished before it can run properly. The problem is that the after_update in the sweeper is being called before (or perhaps at the same time as) the do_something_cool callback and it's causing problems. Does anyone know how to force the after_update in the sweeper to fire after the model callback? Is there better way to achieve this?

  Hey guys, I am grabbing a JSON array and storing it in a NSArray, however it includes JSON encoded UTF-8 strings, for example pass\u00e9 represents passé. I need a way of converting all of these different types of strings into the actual character. I have an entire NSArray to convert. Or I can convert it when it is being displayed, which ever is easiest. • Linking Libraries in Xcode

  Hey all, I'm using a powerbook (osx 10.5) and recently downloaded and installed FFTW 3.2 (link text). I've been able to compile and run some simple programs based on the online tutorial using the terminal: g++ main.cpp -lfftw3 -lm however, I can't get the same program to compile in Xcode. I get a linking error, "symbol(s) not found". There is a file called libfftw3.a in /usr/local/lib. How can this be linked? Furthermore, apparently the libraries have to be linked in a particular order, i.e. see: link text thanks for any help

  Hey all. I'm working on an application that was originally intended for HTML, but I've recently concluded that the best thing to do for my purposes is to do it in Flash instead. One of the big things I need is to be able to bring in movieclips from external files and add them to my main movie at runtime (dynamic number of elements, skinning, etc.) Don't need full-on code for this, but I could use some assistance in tracking down the resources to learn how to do these things successfully. Tutorials, best practices… The usual suspects. I've been using Flash for a while now, and used to do this pretty easily in AS2, but I've had some hiccups using classes and addchild in an earlier attempt, so any help would be much appreciated.   Hey all! So, we're looking to develop a mobile website. On this mobile website, we'd like to automatically populate a user's location (with proper fallback) based on their IP address. I'm aware of geocoding a location based on IP address (mapping to latitude, longitude and then getting the location with that information). However, I'm curious how accurate this information is? Are mobile devices assigned IP's when they utilize 3G, EDGE, and GPRS connections? I think so. If that is so, does it map to a relatively accurate location? It doesn't have to be spot on, but relatively accurate would be nice. Thanks! -Steve

The following does not work: lineItem = invoice.ORInvoiceLineAddList.Append.InvoiceLineAdd Dim amount as Double amount = summary.dailySold * summary.dailyRate loggingTxtBox.AppendText("Amount is " & amount & vbNewLine) lineItem.Amount.SetValue(amount) The exception I receive is System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040305): Invalid Amount format. at Interop.QBFC8.IQBAmountType.SetValue(Double val) The following works: lineItem.Amount.SetValue(20.3) Any suggestions? • Blurred PNGs on UIView, using Interface Builder

  Hey everyone, I've added some UIImageViews with png images to my view, using interface builder. Initially they are added off-screen. Later, I animate them onto the screen with CoreAnimation, like so: [UIView beginAnimations:@"slide" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.1f]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; image.frame = CGRectMake(81+1, 390, 150, 80); [UIView commitAnimations]; Once they appear onscreen, they look really blurred or fuzzy. I've heard of this happening before. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

• Smooth table view like on iPod.app

  Hey folks ;), Im trying to redo the table view in the ipod.app. The one with 2 labels and the cover on the left. I want the same information there. I mean the cover plus all the other MPMediaItem stuff. Everything works fine. I can build the table and get all the information from the music library I need. My only problem is that my table is far away from being smooth. It lacks. When I remove the MPMediaArtworkItem from the table its super fast. So I guess its a problem with that. Is there any way to load the MPMediaProperties more faster? Whats the fastest way? THX in advance :)

• ASP.NET MVC - Alternative to Role Provider?

  Hey there, I'm trying to avoid the use of the Role Provider and Membership Provider since its way too clumsy in my opinion, and therefore I'm trying to making my own "version" which is less clumsy and more manageable/flexible. Now is my question.. is there an alternative to the Role Provider which is decent? (I know that I can do custom Role provier, membership provider etc.) By more manageable/flexible I mean that I'm limited to use the Roles static class and not implement directly into my service layer which interact with the database context, instead I'm bound to use the Roles static class which has its own database context etc, also the table names is awful.. Everything works fine.
