• SQL Query Update is not working

  Hey guys, I am using pawn script for something, and everything works great except for one of my queries. For some reason, it will not work, and I am hoping it is simple enough someone can spot my mistake as I have been banging my head on it for days. http://ampaste.net/m6a887d30 The two highlighted lines are the queries that are not working. • Google Analytics--My second profile to an existing domain not tracking

  Hey Guys, I created a second profile to my Analytics account to track SEO keywords. This is a second profile for my existing working domain. It has been 4 days and I still do not see any traffic on this secondary profile. The profile shows a Staus of "Unknown". But I do not see a way to validate it like you have to when you create your first profile and this should not be necessary for a profile to my existing domain. Any ideas what I am missing? Thanks!

• Document Management System - Where to Store Files?

  Hey, stack! I'm on charge of building an ASP.NET MVC Document Management System. It have to be able to do basic document management tasks like adding, editing and searching entries and also perform versioning. Anyways, I'm targeting PDF, Office and many image formats as the file attached to each document entry in the database. My question is: What design guidelines do pros follow when building the storage mechanism? Do they store the document files in the file system? Database? How file uploading is handled? I used to upload the files to a temporal location while the user was editing the data and move it to permanent storage when the user confirmed the entry creation. Is this good? Any suggestions on improvement?

• Better product to develop for, iPad or Android based tablet in a purely business related application

  Hey guys Just wondering what you'd suggest as the best platform for developing a business application for a tablet device. The application needs to be multitouch, have access to a maps API, a database on the device. It will not be going on sale in the app store or Androids market, it is purely for specific business task and not for the general consumer. Obviously the options seem to be iPhone OS and the iPad or Android and an Android tablet device. The form factor for the end product requires something in the region of 8 inch+ screen and enough processing power to provide a good experience for the end user. Any help would be much appreciated.   Hey, I have an SQL question which may be basic to some but is confusing me. Here is an example of column names for a table 'Person': PersonalID, FirstName, LastName, Car, HairColour, FavDrink, FavFood Let's say that I input the row: 121312, Rayna, Pieterson, BMW123d, Brown, NULL, NULL Now I want to update the values for this person, but only if the new value is not null, Update: 121312, Rayna, Pieterson, NULL, Blonde, Fanta, NULL The new row needs to be: 121312, Rayna, Pieterson, BMW123d, Blonde, Fanta, NULL So I was thinking something along the lines of: Update Person(PersonalID, FirstName, LastName, Car, HairColour, FavDrink, FavFood) set Car = @Car (where @Car is not null), HairColour = @HairColour (where @HairColour...)... etc. My only concern is that I can't group all the conditions at the end of the query because it will require all the values to have the same condition. Can't i do something like Update HairColour if @HairColour is not Null

  Hey, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm trying to run some environmental scripts before I run the build in a m2 project, but it seems no matter how hard I try - the 'pre' build script are never run early enough. Before the 'pre-build' scripts are run, the project checks to see if the correct files are in the workspace - files that won't be there until the scripts I've written are executed. To make them 'pre-build', I'm using the M2 Extra Steps plugin - but's it's not 'pre' enough. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can carry out what I want to do? Cheers.

• WPF - How do I style a row based on a binding property value?

  Hey! So I am trying to bind a collection of objects (IList<) to a WPF datagrid. I would like to make the row background a different color if the 'artist' property is null or empty. I am checking the value stored at the property on the LoadingRow datagrid event. Currently my implementation seems to style all of the rows with an empty or null 'artist' property correctly. The problem is that is also styles the rows where the property is not null or empty in some cases. So some rows are given the red background even though the rows 'artist' property is not null. Can anyone tell me why this could be?? • How to call sql procedure from an html button?

  Hey guys, my doubt is pretty simple to understand. I have a sql procedure that generates a util file as its output depending on the input parameters that are passed to it. I have to pass these parameters from an html page from 3 text boxes.There will also be a button ,on clicking which, the procedure will be called and the util will be generated. I thought of doing it in jsp and writing the full procedure there itself. But i want to util file to opened in WORD the moment it is generated. • Find overdrawn accounts in SQL

  Hey guys, I have a program that allows me to run queries against a large database. I have two tables that are important right now, Deposits and withdraws. Each contains a history of every user. I need to take each table, add up every deposit and withdraws (per user), then subtract the withdraws from the deposits. I then need to return every user whos result is negative (aka they withdrew more then they deposited). Is this possible in one query? Example: Deposit Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |1 | Use1 |100.00| |2 | Use1 |50.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | WithDraw Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |2 | Use2 | 5.00 | |1 | Use1 |100.00| |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | So then the result would output: |OverWithdrawers| | Use2 | Is this possible (I sure don't know how to do it)?   Hey, Not sure if that has been asked before, but semantics causes difficulty in searching. Are there any sites which have a list of items for developers to use in applications? For example, you can download Dictionaries in specific formats (e.g. XML) for use in word games. In particular, I was hoping that there might be a list of common medical drugs so that I can use display a list in an application I'm working on as researching and typing 150+ drug names would be quite inefficient. • How to tell process id within Python

  Hey, I am working with a cluster system over linux (www.mosix.org) that allows me to run jobs and have the system run them on different computers. Jobs are run like so: mosrun ls & This will naturally create the process and run it on the background, returning the process id, like so: [1] 29199 Later it will return. I am writing a Python infrastructure that would run jobs and control them. For that I want to run jobs using the mosrun program as above, and save the process ID of the spawned process (29199 in this case). This naturally cannot be done using os.system or commands.getoutput, as the printed ID is not what the process prints to output... Any clues? Edit: Since the python script is only meant to initially run the script, the scripts need to run longer than the python shell. I guess it means the mosrun process cannot be the script's "son process". Any suggestions? Thanks

Note that my nested SQL (tmp) can have more then 10 milion records. You can split that in more SQLs if the performance is better. Should I add any indexes to make it quicker (i have it on IDs)?

• SQL decimal conversion error

  Hey, my app parses numerous txt files in a directory that are almost all formatted identically, then inserts the values into columns of my sql db. However, there are a few files that the app has come across where a value is 'blank' instead of '0.0', so the application fails stating that it cannot convert that value to numeric. • System_Daemon and shell_exec

  Hey Everyone, I've set up a daemon (daemon.php) using PEAR's System_Daemon which waits for something to appear in the database. Once something is there, the daemon gets enough information and sends it out to another script (execute.php) using the shell_exec command this way I'm not worried about waiting for a response and holding up the daemon. Both of the scripts work fine alone and I'm even able to call shell_exec before calling System_Daemon::start(); . However, if I trying calling it AFTER System_Daemon::start();, then I get an Access Denied only when outputting to a file. I'm still new to Daemons in general, so any ideas or thoughts would be great! Thanks Guys!

  Hey Guys, I am trying to generate a full rss feed, however when loading the feed in Mail, it just shows the title, with a read more link at the bottom. I have tried several different options. But none seem to work. I would like to generate the feed with a combination of several feeds in my modl. • Custom "Very Long Int" Division Issue

  Hey everyone, So, for a very silly project in C++, we are making our own long integer class, called VLI (Very Long Int). The way it works (they backboned it, blame them for stupidity) is this: User inputs up to 50 digits, which are input as string. String is stored in pre-made Sequence class, which stores the string in an array, in reverse order. That means, when "1234" is input, it gets stored as [4|3|2|1]. So, my question is this: How can I go about doing division using only these arrays of chars? If the input answer is over 32 digits, I can't use ints to check for stuff, and they basically saying using long ints here is cheating. Any input is welcome, and I can give more clarification if need be, thanks everyone.

• How can a client try to reconnect to a server after a first failed try with WCF?

  Hey guys, I'm using a client - server app. When a client starts, he gets a login-screen. When the server is not up yet, the call to the server will throw an exception which i catch (EndpointNotFoundException). I show a messagebox telling the user the server is offline. When he tries to reconnect again, it will throw another exception (CommunicationObjectFaultedException), even though the server is online. When a new client starts then, he can connect to the server. But the client who attempted before, still gets the error. My question now is how can the first client login after a failed first try without having to start his program again. So i want to clear the communicationchannel of its faulted state or something like that. Thanks in advance.

• Is there a security issue with using javascript to manipulate cookies?

  Hey guys, another quick question for the experts. I have an alert box that displays updates processed in php to the user just like this site. I want to make it so that if the user closes the box, then it will not pop up for another 5 minutes (unless they check the messages then it will not pop up because the entries that cause the pop up are deleted in the database). On the close of the box I was thinking of giving the user a javascript cookie, since the alert box is done in javascript. I was wondering if this was a bad coding practice, since I am kind of unfamiliar with cookies and was warned against them before. If anyone has any advice or can recommend a better way, I would really appreciate it.
