• Java web-app debugging not possible due to direct undeploy on debug

  When i try to debug my webapp it starts up the tomcat server and the application, but shuts down the debugger shortly before the app gets usable. I see the debugging toolbar for a second before it vanishes again, though the app keeps running.   I need to call a number of methods in parallel and wait for results. Each relies on different resources, so they may return at different times. I need to wait until I receive all results or time out after a certain amount of time. I could just spawn threads with a reference to a shared object via a method call, but is there a better, more groovy way to do this?

Now if I run both applications and observe opened TCP connections using netstat, I find that: If both client and server are running on same machine, number of tcp connections are equal to number of proxy objects. It means all requests are being served in parallel. Which is good. If I run server on a separate machine, I observed that maximum 2 TCP connections are opened regardless of the number of proxy objects I create. Only 2 requests run in parallel. It hurts the processing speed badly. If I switch to net.tcp binding, everything works fine (a separate TCP connection for each proxy object even if they are running on different machines). I am very confused and unable to make the basicHttpBinding use more TCP connections. I know it is a long question, but please help!

  Short version: How can I prevent a spawned Java process in Windows from blocking the spawning process from ending? Long version: I'm trying to spawn a multi-threaded Java program (Selenium RC, not that it should matter) from a program launched from the Windows command line (NAnt's <exec> task, again, not that it should matter). I'm doing it using the Windows "start" command, and the spawned process is started and runs correctly. The spawning process receives control back and finishes (NAnt says "BUILD SUCCEEDED"), but doesn't actually exit to the command line. When the spawned process finally terminates (could be hours later), the command process returns and the command line prompt occurs.   Hi, I've peen looking at the PE/COFF format and it seems to be missing a few things about extensions to the format. Specifically, I'm trying to learn about ECOFF and ANON objects. from what I can tell, those're just two names for the same thing, which is also known as a BIGOBJ. The BIGOBJ allows you to create, surprise surprise, larger object files than the format otherwise allows. Can anyone confirm or correct this? Thanks

What I'm trying to accomplish is to treat this Asynch result in such a way that until it returns AND I finish with my add-thumbnail call, I will not request another call to imageProvider.BeginGetImage.   I'm writing a highly parallel application that's multithreaded. I've already got an SSE accelerated thread class written. If I were to write an MMX accelerated thread class, then run both at the same time (one SSE thread and one MMX thread per core) would the performance improve noticeably? I would think that this setup would help hide memory latency, but I'd like to be sure before I start pouring time into it.

• Connection Refused running multiple environments on Selenium Grid 1.04 via Ubuntu 9.04

  Hello, I'm writing a selenium grid test suite which is going to be run on a series of different machines. I wrote most of it on my macbook but have recently transfered it over to my work machine, which is running ubuntu 9.04. That's actually my first experience with a linux machine, so I may be missing something very simple (I have disabled the firewall though). I haven't been able to get the multienvironment thing working at all, and I've been trying and manual reviewing for a while. Any recommendations and help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!   I would like to have a central weld container that holds all my services and so on. This container would however be wrapped by a second container which contains local settings. THe goal is if a depdendency cannot be found in the outter container then i would like to then search the inner container. How can i achieve this ? I would prefer to do things in a standlike manner, without reverting to use of non standard WELD extensions.

  I used IntentService in my code instead of Service because IntentService creates a thread for me in onHandleIntent(Intent intent), so I don't have to create a Thead myself in the code of my service. I expected that two intents to the same IntentSerivce will execute in parallel because a thread is generated in IntentService for each invent. But my code turned out that the two intents executed in sequential way.   I'm writing a Visual Studio editor extension using the VS 2010 SDK RC. I'd like to be able to figure out what the references of the current project are. How do I get access to the project corresponding to the current editor? The documentation on editor extensions doesn't seem to include information on how to access non-editor parts of Visual Studio. I did some searching and it looks like in VS2008 you could write add-ins that would access the project system, but I'm trying to get at this functionality from a MEF editor extension.

  I have identified the query constructs my users normally use. would it make sense for me to create composite indexes to support those constructs and provide FIRST_ROWS capability? If I migrate from SE to IDS, I will loose the ability to write low-level functions with c-isam calls, but gain FIRST_ROWS along with other goodies like: SET-READS for index scans (onconfig USE_[KO]BATCHEDREAD), optimizer directives, parallel queries, etc?
