  Hi! I've got model A and model Attach. I'm editing my A form with nested attributes for :attaches. And when I am deleting all attaches from A via accepts_nested_attributes_for how can I get after_update/after_save callbacks for all of my nested models? Problem is that when I am executing callbacks in model A they are executed right AFTER model A is updated and BEFORE model Attach is updated, so I can't, for example, know if there is NO ANY attaches after I delete them all :). I’m looking for a solution for this problem: My model looks like this: class Song(models.Model): Album = models.ForeignKey(Album) class Artist(models.Model): album = models.ForeignKey(Album) song = models.ForeignKey(Song, blank=True, null=True) So the user has to define a topic. He can also define a subtopic but doesn’t have to. The subtopic belongs to a topic. In the admin interface I’d like to limit the choices for subtopic based upon what he selects in topics. That should change dynamically with AJAX. I will have a closer look to django-ajax-filtered-fields but didn’t find a solution to that specific problem. Perhaps it’s another usecase for django-ajax-filtered-fields in general? Or do you know another solution to my specific requirements?

  Hi I have 2 tables A and B with the following columns Table A - id,bId,aName,aVal Table B - id,bName where A.bId is the same as B.id. I want a result set from a query to get A.id, A.aName, B.bName where A.bId=B.id OR A.id, A.aName, "" when A.bId=0. In both cases, only those records should be considered where A.aVal LIKE "aVal" Can someone please help me with the query? I can use left join but how do I get the blank string if bId=0 and B.bName otherwise? Thanks

• Best way to show a loading screen in an iPhone app?

  I'm building what is essentially a web app. Every piece of data has to be fetched from a web API. So, every UITableView that I show takes some amount of time to fill with data and I'm struggling to find a good way to show the user a loading screen. Right now I'm popping up an action sheet, but that just seems a bit wrong. Ideally, I'd popup up a blank view over the tableview with "Loading..." on it, then fade it away when the data comes in, but I can't think of a way to do that in 8 places in my app without massive code duplication.

  hi guys, I have a listview which displays (eventually) an album cover of an itunes play list with the album name under it. the problem I am having is that I cannot get the album art (currently a blank square) ABOVE the album name. It always is on the side... how do I do it?   I am using the Jena semantic web framework version 2.6.3. I have code that creates a model with owl inferencing and then adds the following triples: [:bnode-3 rdf:type owl:Restriction] [:bnode-3 owl:onProperty :offspringOf] [:bnode-3 owl:someValuesFrom :Person] [:bnode-3 rdfs:subClassOf :Person] bnode-3 is supposed to be a restriction class which, for example, would contain :joe if :bob is a :Person and the following triple were asserted: [:joe :offspringOf :bob]. Then, since the restriction class is a subclass of Person, :joe would also be a person. And, in fact, this works. Whats confusing to me is that after I assert just the 4 triples at the top of this post, the inferencer creates a blank node which is a Person. In other words, the following triple is now in the model: [_:b0 rdf:type :Person] I don't understand why it would do this. Any help in understanding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kent.

• Screen scraping C application without using OCR or DOM?

  We have a legacy system that is essentially a glorified telnet interface. We cannot use an alternative telnet client program to connect to the system since there are special features built into the client software they have provided us. I want to be able to screen scrape from this program, however that's proving very difficult. I have tried using WindowSpy and Spy++ to check the window text and it comes up blank. It's a custom C program written by the vendor (they have even disabled selecting text). I'm really looking for a free option and something I may perhaps be able to use in conjuction with a scripting language. It seems the only ways to grab text is directly from the Windows GDI or from memory, but that seems a little extreme. Can anyone recommend any software/DLLs that might be able to accomplish this? I'd be extremely appreciative.

• Running external php files or snippets with starting session in Modx?

  I want to include an external php script or modx snippet to the index.php but it causes the blank screen instead (and no document parser errors). Probably the problem is that this script i want to include contains starting session functions and set_include_path function that might somehow conflict with Modx parser.. I tried to use the Modx API but it doesn't seem to work. I use Modx 0.9.2.6 yet.. How can I overcome the issue? My script checks the session and database if the user is logged-in on the site (logging system is not modx-based) and then prints the menu depends on the user privileges...

Something like this: conditions[:offset] = (options[:page].to_i - 1) * PAGE_SIZE unless options[:page].blank? conditions[:limit] = options[:limit] ||= PAGE_SIZE scope = Promo.enabled.active results = scope.all conditions I'd like to add a computed column to the query (at the point when I'm now calling scope.all). Something like this: (ACOS(least(1,COS(0.71106459055501)*COS(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ COS(0.71106459055501)*SIN(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ SIN(0.71106459055501)*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lat))))*3963.19) as accurate_distance Is there a way to do that without just using find_by_sql and rewriting the whole existing query?   Hi I'm trying to create a UIScrollView with loop that contains a collection of ViewControllers. The answer to this question here shows the code that is the basis for what I'm trying to do. It uses images instead of viewControllers. I've managed to get the all the viewControllers loaded (4) and displaying but the first view which is a duplicate of the last viewController is blank. I've tried creating a copy of this viewController and adding it to the array but this messes up the transition / count. Any suggestions?

• In SQL Server merge replication, how does reinitializing work?

  I have set up a pull subscription to a merge publication in SQL Server. I use parameterized row filters on some tables. This works fine with the initial synchronization - just the rows using the filter arrive in the replicated (client) database. However, at some later point I'd like to be able to synchronize the replicated database again from the server and have new rows that match the parameterized row filters appear on the client database. The doucmentation seems to indicate that I can call Reinitialize() to do this. However, when I do try this and Synchronize again, I get an error saying that the script 'snapshot.pre' cannot be applied to the database. I've inspected the script and can see why - it's trying to drop some functions are used by the tables in the database. It would appear that for Reinitialize() to work it requires that the database be blank. Am I misunderstanding something here? Is there a way to make this work?

  I am trying to compile with javac on Snow Leopard through the command line. I have Xcode installed. I am just using a simple Hello World file, it works in Eclipse but I can't get it to work using javac. javac -version returns javac 1.6.0_17 HelloWorld.java public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { String message = "Welcome to Java!"; System.out.println(message); } } I type: javac HelloWorld.java and get the following error. HelloWorld.java:1: class, interface, or enum expected public class HelloWorld ^ 1 error and... javac -cp . HelloWorld.java returns the same. echo $CLASSPATH just returns blank. Thanks for the help.

  I've just installed the new Aquamacs 2.0 in my Mac Os X 10.6.3 and I'm an happy user of IDLWAVE on Aquamacs for programming in IDL. Unfortunately I run into a problem which I can't understand. I used in my configuration file to put the following (setq idlwave-surround-by-blank t) for the beautiful space around operator. • maya "export all" window blocks my plugins script UI

  I'm writing a custom File Translator for Maya which can export only (I have only declared the writer function). Currently having a problem with the MEL script which defines the plugin's options as a GUI. Currently I have a blank Maya scene, go to "file-export all". This creates the "File Export All" dialog, I then select my plugin exporter which runs my MEL script to create the bespoke options window. This new window is created behind the "File Export All" dialog and is not selectable! Do I have to place my export plugin specific options within the export all dialog rather than placing them in a separate window? Thanks for any links, tips or pointers you can provide.

• Flex: Rendering a bound TileList - when does it finish rendering?

  Hi, I have an mx:TileList which is bound to an ArrayCollection. I have some code that displays a "Loading..." message before modifying the ArracyCollection and some code after that hides the loading message. For small data sets, it works fine. However, I noticed with an array size of about 50~ and larger, flex will hide my loading message before the TileList is finished rendering the new data and I'm left with a blank screen for an odd second. Is there an event I can listen to that is called after the TileList is finished re-rendering? Code looks something like this: loading_message.visible = true; for each (var x:Object in new_data) { tile_list_data.append(x); // bound to my_tile_list component } my_tile_list.validateNow(); loading_message.visible = false; In this example, loading_message appear, disappear, and then the flex app will lag before finally revealing the updated TileList. • Application built using VS2010 does not work in VS-Express2008 - C

  Hello, I have wrote an application that consists of two projects in a solution, each project contains only 1 .c source file. I was using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate but due to the University only supporting 2008 I decided to create a blank solution and copy the source files into the new one. After creating a new solution in VS2008 express, creating two projects and re-creating and adding the source files to the projects I ran the application. For some reason only one part of the application does not work, I use CreateProcess() to execute "Project1.exe" from Project 2. This works fine under vs2010 but for some reason it's not working under VS2008 express, GetLastError() is showing an Error 2: File Not Found. This is an image showing the same code in both IDE's: I'm not using anything special and I've made sure that both solutions/projects are using .Net 3.5. I can't work out why it would work for one IDE and not the other. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  So, I have a file called 'dummy' which contains the string: "There is 100% packet loss at node 1". I also have a small script that I want to use to grab the percentage from this file. But for some reason, it just prints out a blank string. Can anyone help me?

• SVN Merge returns nothing...

  Here is the scenario: Windows Vista environment. SVN version 1.6.11. I'm on my branch directory. I want to update my branch with a particular change from my trunk. Using command line (using SlikSVN) I enter the following and it returns nothing (returns a blank line and no merge occurs): svn merge -r 11846:11891 http://trunk//AppConstants.java When I do the equivalent using Tortoise SVN, it says "Completed" but nothing gets merged either. When I do a svn diff I clearly see the differences I want to merge in from the trunk to my branch. The diff command I am using is svn diff -r 11846:11891 http://trunk//AppConstants.java. Can anyone figure why no merge occurs? Thanks!!!

• What port is my SQL2008 instance running on?

  Check out this pic of my SQL 2008 Management Configuration screen for TCP: I need to know what port I am running on. Base on this previous post, I don't believe that it is 1433, which I guess is the default. When I check my port number in SQL Config Mgr., it is blank. Does this suggest a default port? Note that I have multiple SQL Server instance on the db server. 1 2000 instance and two 2008 instances. I want to know the port of the 2008b instance. Can you help?

  So I'm dipping my toes into this area for the first time - i followed instructions to install the android SDK and eclipse plug in. I created a blank new android project and I get the following build errors: [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx]: Dxno classfiles specified [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx] Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1 I've googled the problem and tried to clean and rebuild, or hitting F5 on the project in the explorer but the issue remains. I've verified the build paths and the libraries to make sure only Android 2.3 is there but still get this issue. I have also tried to load a sample project and I get the same error. Any ideas?

• What is possible causes of Jasper Exception

  I have a JSP that takes an Arraylist from the session object and removes the items from it. It seemed to be working fine and then out of nowhere when I navigate to that page, the page is blank. I checked the tomcat log files and in catalina.out I am receiving a Jasper Exception an it is showing it as being on a line with the following for(int i; i < agentItems.size(); i++) agentItems is the name of the ArrayList I am using. I have been debugging it and cant seem to figure out what the problem might be. I have read that a JasperException is sometiems thrown as a JSP's NullPointerException. Is this true or am I just completely overlooking the problem? I have the web application running on a local machine and a intermediate server for development in which both of them have had no trouble. Why could it be that only on this server it is giving me problems?

Observed: Page 1 displays the session data. However, there are NO cookies created anywhere on the browser? Page 1 does a require to display page 2. Page 2 does not contain the session data. Using FireFox as the target browser (looking at cookies with web developer add-in) How do I get the session to work across all pages? Thank You and yes I am a newbie at this.
