• how to remove a few lines from a Unicode registry file using batch commands in Windows?

  Hi. I have a program who's generating some data in registry. I save it with "reg export HKCU\Software\ProgramName\Data data.reg" (Unicode format). I need to take it to other computer and import it there so the program from that computer could use the data. But I have to remove some text lines from data.reg. The text lines are easy to find because they contain some strings. Now I'm doing this manually (using Wordpad) every few days but maybe there is another way... Oh and I can't install other programs on these computers (the access is restricted) so I have to use batch/cmd files. What I tried so far: - redirecting the export to "con" but is visual only not in a variable; - using "for /F ..." but this works only with ANSI and removes blank lines. Can somebody please help me...? Thank you.

• LogCat acting patchy

  The LogCat output in eclipse suddenly started weird. It sometimes shows all the output as expected. Other times it just doesn't show anything - is completely blank. After some internet research, I thought Mylyn plugin might be responsible. So I tried de-selecting "Mylyn Tasks UI" & "Mylyn Team UI" on eclipse Window -- Preferences -- General -- Startup and Shutdown -- programs that are started at startup. No Luck. Has anyone else encountered & solved this problem?

• Managing Foreign Keys

  So I have a database with a few tables. The first table contains the user ID, first name and last name. The second table contains the user ID, interest ID, and interest rating. There is another table that has all of the interest ID's. For every interest ID (even when new ones are added), I need to make sure that each user has an entry for that interest ID (even if its blank, or has defaults). Will foreign keys help with this scenario? or will I need to use PHP to update each and every record when I add a new key?

• Flex Builder 3 Unclosable Editor Windows

  See: http://i.imgur.com/pQNQh.png Somehow I made this happen and I don't know how to undo it. The image linked above shows my Flex Builder session. The largest section of the window is the editor. Initially, there was a blank window on the screen so I tried closing it, but I couldn't. Then I tried dragging it and realized I could drag it into a corner of itself, hence all the nested windows. I have no idea how to close these windows or simply reset the view. I went to the preferences under General Perspectives, but the "reset" button was disabled for every available perspective. Help?

  I just validated my actual XHTML Strict 1.0 doc with the w3c validator service.. and it says that, <ul id="socialnetwork"> <li><a href="http://www.twitter.com" target="_blank"></a></li> <li><a href="http://www.flickr.com" target="_blank"></a></li> <li><a href="http://www.xing.com" target="_blank"></a></li> <li><a href="http://www.rss.com" target="_blank"></a></li> </ul> the target="_blank" is not valid.. but I need the target blank so a new tab will open in the browser, so that the user does not leave the main page. What can I do? Why is this not valid?

• Window title for a console application

  In Visual Studio's Attach to Process dialog, one of the columns in the Available Processes list is "Title", which lists the title of the topmost window owned by each process. We spawn multiple instances of several server processes in order to compartmentalize the work. For these console processes, the Title field is blank, so currently we have to look up the process id in our management tool in order to find the correct process. In order to streamline the debugging process, I would love to be able to use the Title field to directly determine which process I want. SetConsoleTitle does not do the trick, nor SetWindowText with a NULL hWnd. To the best of my knowledge, a console application does not intrinsically own any window handles that we could pass to SetWindowText. We don't want to create any visible windows for these server processes. Any suggestions for a reasonable way to trick Visual Studio into displaying some useful information here?

  I have a form (Quote) with an auto-number ID, on the form at the moment are two subforms that show different items (sub 1 shows partition modules sub 2 shows partition abutments) both forms use the same parts tables to build them. Both forms are linked to the quote form using the ID. All works well until the forms is refreshed or re-loaded, subform 1 shows the module names and quantities and blank spaces for the abutment names but shows the quantiews for the abutments, the reverse of this is shown in the abutments subform 2. When the lists for the variuos types and the detailed parts lists are printed they are correct. This seems to be only a visual problem. All based on Access 2003. • Closing a Dialog Box, Opening a New One and it is Grayed out (Colorbox)

• Zend Framework ErrorController not working on live site?

  My site is set up pretty much as per the Zend Quickstart guide. The default ErrorController works locally using MAMP. But now I've deployed it to my live site I get a blank page and a "500 Internal Server Error" according to FireBug when I go to an action that doesnt exist. On my local server I get a 404 and a nicely formatted error page. Any ideas anyone? I dont really know where to begin looking. I'm confused :/ Thanks.

• Parsing boolean from configuration section in web.config

  I have a custom configuration section in my web.config. One of my classes is grabbing from this: <myConfigSection LabelVisible="" TitleVisible="true"/> I have things working for parsing if I have true or false, however if the attribute is blank I am getting errors. When the config section tries to map the class to the configuration section I get an error of "not a valid value for bool" on the 'LabelVisible' part. How can I parse "" as false in my myConfigSection class? I have tried this: [ConfigurationProperty("labelsVisible", DefaultValue = true, IsRequired = false)] public bool? LabelsVisible { get { return (bool?)this["labelsVisible"]; } But when I try and use what is returned like so: graph.Label.Visible = myConfigSection.LabelsVisible; I get an error of: 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'bool?' to 'bool'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Thanks for any suggestions!

• JPanel: both implementing my own paintComponent() and rendering children doesn't work

  I'm extending a JPanel to display a game board, and adding a JEditorPane at the bottom to hold some status text. Unfortunately, the game board renders just fine, but the JEditorPane is just a blank gray area until I highlight the text in it, when it will render whatever text is highlighted (but not the rest). If I'm understanding Swing right, it should work, because super.paintComponent(g) should render the other children (i.e., the JEditorPane).   Hi. I'm working with strings in C++. I recently came across a problem when entering strings. I'm using cin >> string; to get my string as user input. When the user enters a space into the string, the next input is automatically filled out with the remaining letters, or sometimes left blank. As the next input string is often an integer, this will result in an unpleasant bug. What's a good fix for this?

• TileGroup does not fill the container

  I put a TileGroup in a BorderContainer and set the width to 100%, but the content in the TileGroup did not fill the parent container, it leaves a big chunk of blank on the right part.   I am trying to understand the best way of implementing a DropDownList in ASP.NET MVC 2 using the DropDownListFor helper. This is a multi-part question. First, what is the best way to pass the list data to the view? Pass the list in your model with a SelectList property that contains the data Pass the list in via ViewData How do I get a blank value in the DropDownList? Should I build it into the SelectList when I am creating it or is there some other means to tell the helper to auto create an empty value? Lastly, if for some reason there is a server side error and I need to redisplay the screen with the DropDownList, do I need to fetch the list values again to pass into the view model? This data is not maintained between posts (at least not when I pass it via my view model) so I was going to just fetch it again (it's cached). Am I going about this correctly?

Considering that resources are already defined in routes.rb I was expecting it to work easily, bute somehow when I click the save button it calls the create method, instead of update, using a POST http request. Inmediatly after that it autocatically log out form the session. Any ideas?

• jQuery hyperlinks - href value?

  Hi, On my website I use jQuery to hook the events of elements, namely hyperlinks. As these hyperlinks only perform actions on the current page, and do not lead anywhere, I have been putting a href attribute of "#" in: <a href="#">My Link</a> However in some browsers this causes the page to scroll right to top which is obviously undesirable behaviour. I've tried using a blank href value, or not including one, but then the mouse does not change to the hand cursor upon hovering. What should I put in there?

• Where is App.config?

  I'm trying to set up logging with Microsoft's Enterprise Library (log4net seems to be a dead project). I'm using VB .NET 2008 and VS 2008. I've searched all over the MSDN documentation, CodePlex docs (including the Hands-On labs that installed and then vanished), and online tutorials to no avail. They all refer to a mysterious "configuration file" or "App.config" that I can't find and can't seem to add. I even tried adding a new text file and renaming it "App.config" but that only made VS 2008 spit out a red wavy line on a blank file. Any suggestions for finding the elusive app.config would be greatly appreciated. (and, if that makes the EntLib configuration tool show up, I'll be absolutely delighted) Edit: I've been tricked! The tree in VS 2008 isn't a true superset-subset relationship, which is why I got so frustrated. To wit, the top of the tree: And a 'sub-section' of the tree.

• My map callouts don't display the image when clicked

  I am developing an iPhone application for a university project and I'm new to iPhone development. I have looked through Apple's MapCallouts code but it doesn't seem feasible to implement it. So far my code displays a map, drops annotations, displays the title and it displays the right call out button. But this is where I encounter problems. When I press on the callout button, it displays a blank view controller but it should display a different image for every callout that's tapped and this isn't happening so far. But i can see only black background in my viewcontroller view in iphone device. Also if i remove "self" from the appdelegate.m code of cameracontroller it also showing blank.   I've checked out a branch of C# code from source control. It contains maybe 50 projects in various folders. There's no existing .sln file to be found. I intended to create a blank solution to add existing solutions. The UI only lets me do this one project at a time. Is there something I'm missing? I'd like to specify a list of *.csproj files and somehow come up with a .sln file that contains all the projects.

My questions are: How can I convert a min.js file into a clear, easy readable .js file Besides, size(&and speed) are there any other advtages of the min.js file. the js files can be encripted? can js be infected. • Silverlight Pixel Shader resource "not found"; what should the URI be?

  So I've written and compiled an HLSL pixel shader with Shazzam, placed the resulting .ps file in my project, and am trying to instantiate it. No matter what URI I put, Blend tells me that the resource can't be found whenever I try to view any xaml designer, and Visual Studio just shows me a blank page, both in design view and if I try to run the application. This is a Silverlight 4 SketchFlow project, in Blend 4 RC and Visual Studio 2010. I've tried both Resource and EmbeddedResource as the Build Action for the .ps file, neither make any difference (I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be set to Resource). I've tried the following URI formats: "ShaderFileName.ps" "/ShaderFileName.ps" "AssemblyName;component/ShaderFileName.ps" "/AssemblyName;component/ShaderFileName.ps" I also tried moving the shader file from the Screens assembly to the root assembly (that's how SketchFlow projects are created) and that didn't help either. Anyone have any thoughts?
