• Problem With Inserts of multibyte (converted to utf-8) strings in the mysql tables of utf_unicode_ci encoding

Every keyword shows up properly with no problems in unicode conversions etc. Now, When I am adding these words to the database column of a table, the words show up as messed up. http domainsoutlook.com/b/site/bhaskar.com.html For example on this front end page if you see there is a keyword that is shown as a blank but still occurs on the website 8 times. (It isnt empty in the database though). I have checked and there is no problem with mysql_real_escape_String...because the output stays the same before and after the word is gone through mysql_real_escape_String. Another problem was that I wanted to fix my urls for arabic language. They should be showing up as /word-{1st letter of the word}/{whole word}.html but its showing as /word-{whole word}/{1st letter of the word}.html I really need answers for these two questions.

• Side effects of reordering columns in PostgreSQL

  I sometimes re-order the columns in my Postgres DB. Since Postgres can only add columns at the end of tables, I end up re-ordering by adding new columns at the end of the table, setting them equal to existing columns, and then dropping the original columns. My question is: what does PostgreSQL do with the memory that's freed by dropped columns? Does it automatically re-use the memory, so a single record consumes the same amount of space as it did beforehand? But that would require a re-write of the whole table, so to avoid that, does it just keep a bunch of blank space around in each record? Thanks! ~S

• Joomla article not showing in the frontend but its visible in administrative part.

  I have a very big article to be put into our joomla site. At first I was getting "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 285487 bytes) in..." . But then I increased the memory_limit in php.ini . And I was able to create the article. Now I can view the article by logging into backend. But the article is not at all visible in the front end. If I click on the menu item pointing to that article, all I can see is a blank page with nothing in it. All other articles in the site are visible properly. Any idea? ps: I have enabled the error reporting to maximum, also ran the site in debugging mode. But saw nothing unusual.

• Is it possible to show the download progress of a flash file?

  I know how to setup a preloader and I have that working. But when I debug the flash application and simulate a download, it has a blank background until a few seconds have passed. I know it is "downloading" the swf file and I'm wondering if I can show a progress bar for that, or do I need to have the swf file as small as possible and pre load everything needed and have all assets as a separate file I fetch? I found something with ProgressEvent.PROGRESS but this only loads after the flash file is finished downloading.

  I am working in asp.net using the gridview control. I have a button column that I create dynamically as such: ButtonField bfSelect = new ButtonField(); bfSelect.HeaderText = "View"; bfSelect.ButtonType = ButtonType.Link; bfSelect.CommandName = "View"; bfSelect.Text = "View"; grdAttachments.Columns.Add(bfSelect); The text on the button is the same for every row. I was wondering if there was any way to have the text be different for different rows depending on a condition.   How do I strip whitespaces (trim) from the end of a charField in Django? Here is my Model, as you can see I've tried putting in clean methods but these never get run. I've also tried doing name.strip(), models.charField().strip() but these do not work either. Is there a way to force the charField to trim automatically for me?   I need to make my image fitting into my div, I want the picture to be only inside the div, the rest of the picture will be behind the other elements. Basically I want to achieve the same effect as here http://tommywebdesigner.com/Home%20Page.html but with the div id="background"and div id="content" i have created. As you can see first i gave margin-bottom="350px to the header in order to create a blank space, here i have the space for the img in my div id="background"which is located under (z-index: -1;) and the rest of the elements is placed over inside the the div id="content" (z-index:2;) I need now a Javascript which fit this image in the div id="background". • Designing a Chart that expands as more data is entered in Excel

  I have a worksheet that pulls data from another, it is designed to only show late jobs, and it works perfectly. I have it where it is broken down into quarters, and it gathers all this data and does everything I want. Except this one last bit... I want to have it where it shows charts, if there is data in said area the chart would self populate, otherwise it would be blank. If more data is entered into the range expand the chart accordingly. Attached is a simplified workbook with what it does, and what I'd like to see it do. I don't even know if this is possible...   I'm sure that there's an easy answer to this, but I can't find it. I have a table 'myTable' which I stripe using the following $("#myTable tr:even").css({ "background-color": "#FEE996" }); $("#myTable tr:odd").css({ "background-color": "#FFEFAF" }); This works fine. I am also using a table filter plugin as follows $('#myTable').tableFilter(); This plugin places a blank field at the top of each column into which the filter criteria can be typed. When the table is filtered it removes unmatched rows, which in turn messes up the striping. I would like to be able to re-invoke the lines to re-stripe the table. Something like $('#myTable').tableFilter().find("tr:even").css({ "background-color": "#FEE996" }).find("tr:even").css({ "background-color": "#FFEFAF" }); Is this possible please?

• Powershell Select-Object from array not working

  I am trying to seperate values in an array so i can pass them to another function. Am using the select-Object function within a for loop to go through each line and separate the timestamp and value fields. However, it doesn't matter what i do the below code only displays the first select-object variable for each line. The second select-object command doesn't seem to work as my output is a blank line for each of the 6 rows. • Why does my report recalculate totals when I scroll in Access '07?

  Whenever I make a report in Access '07 and include some sort of total (whether counting or summing values), when I'm viewing the preview and scroll, the total recalculate. This is really annoying as Access takes a while (several tenths of a second) to do this, and while it does that the totals go blank. I've looked for a solution online, but I can't find this issue described anywhere. How can I stop the totals from recalculating when I scroll? I'm hoping for a simple solution that would solve this for all reports, or perhaps a simple property tweak on each report. I don't want to have to add code for every single report! I should describe the report layouts I'm using - they contain rows of data all on one page, and at times I group the rows. The number of rows aren't major, maybe around 50 a time or so.

  Is there a way to display User fields under a form that adds/edits a UserProfile model? I am extending default Django User model like this: class UserProfile(models.Model): user = models.OneToOneField(User, unique=True) about = models.TextField(blank=True) I know that it is possible to make a: class UserProfileInlineAdmin(admin.TabularInline): and then inline this in User ModelAdmin but I want to achieve the opposite effect, something like inverse inlining, displaying the fields of the model pointed by the OneToOne Relationship (User) in the page of the model defining the relationship (UserProfile). I don't care if it would be in the admin or in a custom view/template. I just need to know how to achieve this. I've been struggling with ModelForms and Formsets, I know the answer is somewhere there, but my little experience in Django doesn't allow me to come up with the solution yet. A little example would be really helpful!

  I have an Symfony2 edit form for an entity and one of the fields is for the user's profile picture. I'm trying to theme the Twig file upload widget so that the current picture set for the field is displayed above the file input. • SSRS mysterious extra pages

  I have two reports that are setup with the same page dimensions- A4 portrait, with page margins of 1cm. When I run the reports seperately and print them they both come out as expected: fitting into the width constraint of the page. However, when I include one report as a subreport in the other and then run and print the "master" report I start to experience problems. Even though both reports appear I get extra blank pages appearing every other page in the output. I'm sure I'm missing a simple trick - probably with the page sizes of the two reports but I can't figure it out - any pointers? I don't mind changing the setup of the subreport as it will never be run as a seperate eport in the wild, I only included that step to prove that it did indeed fit within the page!

It works on my localhost, but when I try to run it on my server it just doesn't work, returns a blank site. I tried to use this code with others sites like example.com and It works, so I thought, that its becouse of facebook blocks my ip (i dont know why it would be true), so I checked it. I have run it with curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_PROXY, 'myproxy'); But it still doesn't show any information. I am trying to fix it all day, but its to difficult. Have you got some ideas?

• iPhone SDK: How to store the time each word was typed?

  My problem is twofold: 1) I'm trying to determine an eloquent way to allow the user to type into a UITextView and store the time each word was typed into an array. The time will be a float which starts at 0 when the user begins to type. 2) Conversely, I'd like the user to be able to tap on a word in the UITextView and display the time that word was typed (displaying in an NSLog() is fine). Considerations that may throw a wrench into a possible approach -- what if the user goes back to the top of the text and starts typing or to the middle of the text? Even a suggested approach without code would be appreciated, because right now I'm drawing a blank.

• GetBytes Issue in Loading External Flash

  I'm trying to debug a gallery section within a site of mine. Currently the section display a number of thumbnails which visitor select one to view. Once selected, the main flash loads in an external swf. To make the process smoother, I have a preloader for this process using normal getbytes codes. However for some reasons, the flash works fine in IE but not in Firefox or Chrome. In these browsers, as soon as you click the thumbnail, the preloader animated away to reveal the holder of the external swf. However as it is still loading, the holder is a blank area. Would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on why this is so.
