• How to control CSS class applied to ASP.NET 4 Menu with RenderingMode=List

  I am using an ASP.NET 4.0 Menu control with RenderingMode=List and am struggling with creating the appropriate CSS. Each menu item is represented by an <li tag that contains a nested <a tag with what appear to be fixed class names: <a class="level1" for unselected level 1 menu items <a class="level2" for unselected level 2 menu items <a class="level1 selected" for the selected level 1 menu item ... etc... What I want to do is to is to prevent the currently selected menu item from being "clickable". To do so I tried using: if (menuItem.Selected) menuItem.Selectable = false; This has the desired effect of removing the href attribute from the <a tag but also removes the class attribute - and as a result my CSS can not identify what level the menu item belongs to! Looks to me like a possible bug, but in any case I can't find any documentation describing what CSS class names are used, nor whether there is any way to control this (the old Style properties don't appear to have any effect). Ideally I would like to have "level" class attributes on the <li tags, not just the nested <a tags.

  I have an issue in asp.net 4. When I add an attribute on controls, then the render it encoded. For example, when I type this code txtQuestion.Attributes["onfocus"] = "if(this.value == this.title) { this.value = ''; this.style.backgroundColor='#FEFDE0'; this.style.color='#000000'; }"; I get render onfocus="if(this.value == this.title){this.value = &#39;&#39;;this.style.backgroundColor=&#39;#FEFDE0&#39;; this.style.color=&#39;#000000&#39;;}" And every ' hash been change to & #39; Is there a way to disable this new future only on some controls ? or an easy way to make a custom render ? My Fail tries I have all ready try some thinks but I fail. For example this fails. txtQuestion.RenderingCompatibility = new Version("3.5"); I also locate the point that this attributes renders and is on public virtual void RenderBeginTag(HtmlTextWriterTag tagKey) function, there every attribute have a flag if he wish to be encoded, but I do not know how can anyone set it or not.   Cookie error Hi, I am running S60 SDK 5th with Eclipse pulsar on win 7. I have oauth_token using with this Url https://www.linkedin.com/uas/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=. To get that grant access screen by LinkedIn. I am loading above Url using htmlComponent, and adding HtmlComponent to form and show it. Occasionally when I click on the "Ok I'll Allow It" button (i.e. after the button has been pressed) I get the following error message. "We’re sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please make sure you have cookies enabled and try again." but i'm receiving the response with oauth_token, oauth_token_secret, oauth_callback_confirmed = true, xoauth_request_auth_url, oauth_expires_in. Some buddy please help.

With FireFox the src attribute remains "Empty.aspx" when the page is loaded but when i refresh the page i.e. in post back event the scr attribute changes to "page.aspx?id=a.id" and iframe gets loaded properly. • NSFetchedResultsController sections localized sorted

  How could I use the NSFetchedResultsController with translated sort key and sectionKeyPath? Problem: I have ID in the property "type" in the database like typeA, typeB, typeC,... and not the value directly because it should be localized. In English typeA=Bird, typeB=Cat, typeC=Dog in German it would be Vogel, Katze, Hund. With a NSFetchedResultController with sort key and sectionKeyPath on "type" I receive the order and sections - typeA - typeB - typeC Next I translate for display and everything is fine in English: - Bird - Cat - Dog Now I switch to German and receive a wrong sort order - Vogel - Katze - Hund because it still sorts by typeA, typeB, typeC So I'm looking for a way to localize the sort for the NSFetchedResultsController. I tried the transient property approach, but this doesn't work for the sort key because the sort key need to be in the entity. I have no other idea. But I can't believe that's not possible to use NSFetchedResultsController on a derived attribute required for localization? There are related discussions like http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1384345/using-custom-sections-with-nsfetchedresultscontroller but the difference is that the custom section names and the sort key have probably the same order. Not in my case and this is the main difference. At the end I would need a sort order for the necessary NSSortDescriptor on a derived attribute, I guess. This sort order has also to serve for the sectionKeyPath. Thanks for any hint.

• Is there such a thing as IMAP for podcasts?

  Is there such a thing as IMAP for podcasts? I own a desktop, laptop, iPod, smartphone and a web-client all downloading StackOverflow Podcasts. (among others) They all tell me which episodes are available and which are already played. Everything is a horrible mess, ofcourse. My iPod is somewhat in sync with my desktop, but everything else is a random jungle. The same problem with e-mail is solved by IMAP. Every device gets content and meta-information from one server, and stays in sync with it. Per device, I can set preferences (do or do not download the complete archive including junkmail). Can we implement the IMAP approach for podcasts? Or is there a better metaphore/standard to solve this problem? How will the adoption-strategy look like? (by the way: except for the Windows smartphone, I own a full Apple-stack of products. Even then, I run into this problem) UPDATE The RSS-to-Imap link to sourceforge looks promesting, but very alpha/experimental. UPDATE 2 The one thing RSS is missing is the command/method/parameter/attribute to delete/unread items. RSS can only add, not remove. If RSS(N+1) (3?) could add a value for unread="true|false", it would be solved. If I cache all my RSS-feeds on my own server, and add the attribute myself, I only would have to convince iTunes and every other client to respect that.

• How to get an ASP.NET MVC Ajax response to redirect to new page instead of inserting view into Updat

  I am using the Ajax.BeginForm to create a form the will do an ajax postback to a certain controller action and then if the action is successful, the user should get redirected to another page (if the action fails then a status message gets displayed using the AjaxOptions UpdateTargetId). using (Ajax.BeginForm("Delete", null, new { userId = Model.UserId }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "UserForm", LoadingElementId = "DeletingDiv" }, new { name = "DeleteForm", id = "DeleteForm" })) { [HTML DELETE BUTTON] } If the delete is successful I am returning a Redirect result: [Authorize] public ActionResult Delete(Int32 UserId) { UserRepository.DeleteUser(UserId); return Redirect(Url.Action("Index", "Home")); } But the Home Controller Index view is getting loaded into the UpdateTargetId and therefore I end up with a page within a page. Two things I am thinking about: Either I am architecting this wrong and should handle this type of action differently (not using ajax). Instead of returning a Redirect result, return a view which has javascript in it that does the redirect on the client side. Does anyone have comments on #1? Or if #2 is a good solution, what would the "redirect javascript view" look like?

  I am developing a Java Desktop Application and using JPA for persistence. I have a problem mentioned below: I have two entities: Country City Country has the following attribute: CountryName (PK) City has the following attribute: CityName Now as there can be two cities with same name in two different countries, the primaryKey for City table in the datbase is a composite primary key composed of CityName and CountryName. Now my question is How to implement the primary key of the City as an Entity in Java @Entity public class Country implements Serializable { private String countryName; @Id public String getCountryName() { return this.countryName; } } @Entity public class City implements Serializable { private CityPK cityPK; private Country country; @EmbeddedId public CityPK getCityPK() { return this.cityPK; } } @Embeddable public class CityPK implements Serializable { public String cityName; public String countryName; } Now as we know that the relationship from Country to City is OneToMany and to show this relationship in the above code, I have added a country variable in City class. But then we have duplicate data(countryName) stored in two places in the City class: one in the country object and other in the cityPK object. But on the other hand, both are necessary: countryName in cityPK object is necessary because we implement composite primary keys in this way. countryName in country object is necessary because it is the standard way of showing relashionship between objects. How to get around this problem?

  Hi, I need to parse an XML record that represents a QuizQuestion. The "type" attribute tells the type of question. I then need to create an appropriate subclass of QuizQuestion based on the question type. The following code works ([auto]release statements omitted for clarity): QuizQuestion *question = [[QuizQuestion alloc] initWithXMLString:xml]; if( [ [question type] isEqualToString:@"multipleChoiceQuestion"] ) { [myQuestions addObject:[[MultipleChoiceQuizQuestion alloc] initWithXMLString:xml]; } //QuizQuestion.m -(id)initWithXMLString:(NSString*)xml { self.type = ...// parse "type" attribute from xml // parse the rest of the xml } //MultipleChoiceQuizQuestion.m -(id)initWithXMLString:(NSString*)xml { if( self= [super initWithXMLString:xml] ) { // multiple-choice stuff } } Of course, this means that the XML is parsed twice: once to find out the type of QuizQuestion, and once when the appropriate QuizQuestion is initialized. To prevent parsing the XML twice, I tried the following approach: // MultipleChoiceQuizQuestion.m -(id)initWithQuizRecord:(QuizQuestion*)record { self=record; // record has already parsed the "type" and other parameters // multiple-choice stuff } However, this fails due to the "self=record" assignment; whenever the MultipleChoiceQuizQuestion tries to call an instance-method, it tries to call the method on the QuizQuestion class instead. Can someone tell me the correct approach for parsing XML into the appropriate subclass when the parent class needs to be initialized to know which subclass is appropriate?

• Javascript Selectbox refresh necessary in YUI 3, when selecting none?

  Hi all, I'm using YUI 3 to let someone click "Select All" or "Select None" and then have the selectbox select all the items or unselect all of them, respectively. Here's my code: // This selects all Y.on('click',function (e) { selectBoxNode.get("options").each(function () { this.removeAttribute('selected'); this.setAttribute('selected','selected'); }); }, selectAllNode ); // This selects none Y.on('click',function (e) { selectBoxNode.get("options").each(function () { this.setAttribute('selected','false'); this.removeAttribute('selected'); }); selectBoxNode.('selectedIndex',-1); }, selectNoneNode ); selectAllLink, selectNoneLink, and selectBoxNode are self-evident, properly returned Nodes. Update: selectAll works, I had to manually remove the 'selected' attribute for each and re-add it. The selectNoneLink doesn't work: it unselects only the elements that weren't before selected... although DOM inspection shows that the selectedIndex attribute is indeed changed to -1, so maybe it needs a refresh? Any help would be appreciated. If this happens in all frameworks, that would be nice to know as well. Thanks!

• Why am I having this InstantiationException in Java when accessing final local variables?

  I was playing with some code to make a "closure like" construct ( not working btw ) Everything looked fine but when I tried to access a final local variable in the code, the exception InstantiationException is thrown. If I remove the access to the local variable either by removing it altogether or by making it class attribute instead, no exception happens. The doc says: InstantiationException Thrown when an application tries to create an instance of a class using the newInstance method in class Class, but the specified class object cannot be instantiated. The instantiation can fail for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: - the class object represents an abstract class, an interface, an array class, a primitive type, or void - the class has no nullary constructor What other reason could have caused this problem? • Testing ActionFilterAttributes with MSpec

  I'm currently trying to grasp MSpec, mainly to learn new ways of (T/B)DD to be able to make an educated decision on which technology to use. Previously, I've mostly (read: only) used the built-in MSTest framework with Moq, so BDD is quite new for me. I'm writing an ASP.NET MVC app, and I want to implement PRG. Last time I did this, I used action filters to export and import ModelState via TempData, so that I could return a RedirectResult and the validation errors would still be there when the user got the view. I tested that scenario by verifying two things: a) That the ExportModelStateAttribute I had written was applied (among tests for my controller) b) That the attribute worked (among tests for action filter attributes) However, in BDD I've understood I should be even more concerned with behavior, and even less with implementation. This means I should probably just verify that the model state is in tempdata when the action has finished executing - not necessarily that it's done via an attribute. To further complicate things, attributes are not run when calling the action directly in the test, so I can't just call the action and see if the job's been done. How should I spec/test this in MSpec?

• Replacing content with jquery.

  I am loading a movie into a overlay. My problem is that when I close the div overlay the movie continues to play. I do not control the code on the move side it is imported via a script tag which then opens in a iframe. I am able to remove the content of the of the div and then the movie stops playing. Then of course when the user opens the div again the movie is gone. My current thinking was that I could simply replace the script tag with one just like it but the outcome of that is that there is nothing there. I have been using jquery.   Hi, I have a buggy xml that contains empty attributes and I have a parser that coughs on empty attributes. I have no control over the generation of the xml nor over the parser that coughs on empty attrs. So what I want to do is a pre-processing step that simply removes all empty attributes.   I have a form that has a radio button on it (Formtastic), and It works just fine with the :collection I'm passing. The problem is I want some part of the text to be affected by some CSS, but the :collection attribute does not let me put in HTML. Is there any way I can modify the way it renders the label, I want to put some css to some part of the label. • how to send binary data within an xml string

  I want to send a binary file to .net c# component in the following xml format <BinaryFileString fileType='pdf'> <!--binary file data string here--> </BinaryFileString> In the component that is called I will use the above xml string and convert the binary string recieved within the BinaryFileString tag, into a file as specified by the filetype='' attribute. The file type could be doc/pdf/xls/rtf I have the code in the calling application to get out the bytes from the file to be sent. How do I prepare it to be sent with xml tags wrapped around it? I want the application to send out a string to the component and not a byte stream. This is because there is no way I can decipher the file type [pdf/doc/xls] by just looking at the byte stream. Hence the xml string with the filetype attribute. Its type is object, but it can be either int, long or string. I would intuitively use a ProtoInclude attribute to say "expect these types" but unfortunately they are class only attribute. Does anybody has any idea how I could work around this ? For background, the public object Key is here for historical reasons (and all over the place) so I would very much like to avoid the mother of all refactorings ;-) Any chance I could get this to Serialize, even force it to Serialize as a string ?

  Is one correct in stating the following: If a Python object is created in a C function, but the function doesn't return it, no INCREF is needed, but a DECREF is. [false]If the function does return it, you do need to INCREF, in the function that receives the return value.[/false] When assigning C typed variables as attributes, like double, int etc., to the Python object, no INCREF or DECREF is needed. Assigning Python objects as attributes to your other Python objects goes like this: PyObject *foo; foo = bar // A Python object tmp = self->foo; Py_INCREF(foo); self->foo = foo; Py_XDECREF(tmp); //taken from the manual, but it is unclear if this works in every situation EDIT: -- can I safely use this in every situation? (haven't run into one where it caused me problems) dealloc of a Python object needs to DECREF for every other Python object that it has as an attribute, but not for attributes that are C types.   Hi, iam using facebook connect in my site, and i want to know how do i use the graph api for authenticating the user. I followed these steps: 1) Initially i sent a request for "code", by clicking on the facebook icon in my site: https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/authorize? client_id=xxx&redirect_uri=http://xxxxxxxx 2) And then after getting a code, i sent a request for "access token", by clicking on another link in my site: https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token? client_id=xxx&redirect_uri=http://xxxxxxx&client_secret=xxxx&code=xxxxx 3) And after i got the token, i sent another request for getting user data, by clicking on yet another link: https://graph.facebook.com/me?access_token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Then finally i got the user data in array format, which i need to parse for my required data like user's firstname, email, etc. Now my question is that how i can automate this process with just one click ? Right now, iam using 3 different links for sending those requests. Can anyone suggest a solution ?
