  • jQuery validation plugin for two fields

    I am using the Jquery Validation plug-in, however i need to add a "custom rule", i have 2 date fields and i need to ensure that the end date is not less than the start date. My problem is how to pass the two fields in as elements. As i understand u set up a custom function something like this : function customValidationMethod(value, element, params){ } But can't see how i could use it with two fields, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion, I also find the configuration of these servers to be more straightforward and minimal. Why do people use Apache when asynchronous servers are so much more lightweight? Is there any clear benefit?

    I'm working on a spreadsheet that two conditions have to true in order to be counted. If the month is January, and the number next to it is less than or equal to 30, then it's counted. Same rule applies for all the other months. I'm really looking for something like less that I can pipe my errors into that will collapse the template parameter lists by default, maybe with some nice highlighting so that my errors are actually readable.     How can I obtain an array with uid and names? I could iterate from 0 to 99999 and do a getpwnam(). However most machines have less than 5 accounts, so it's not optimal. I don't know what framework is responsible for this and thus I have no clue what to search for. Is there a more optimal solution that can traverse the accounts?

    I expect any good program should do all their reads and writes in a loop until all data written/read without relying that write will write everything (even with regular files). Am I right? Implemented simple FUSE filesystem which only allows reading and writing with small buffers, very often returning that it is written less bytes that in a buffer (using -o direct_io). Some programs work, some not. Are them buggy or programs should not expect truncated writes and reads from the regular files?

    I have several different test classes that require that certain objects are created before those tests can be run. Now I'm wondering if I should put the object initialization code into a separate helper class or superclass. Doing so would surely reduce the amount of duplicate code in my test classes but it would also make them less readable. Is there a guideline or pattern how to deal with common setUp-code for unit tests?

    I don't even know if a solution exists or not. Here is the problem in detail. You are a program that is accepting an infinitely long stream of characters (for simplicity you can assume characters are either 1 or 0). At any point, I can stop the stream (let's say after N characters were passed through) and ask you if the string received so far is a palindrome or not. How can you do this using less sub-linear space and/or time.

  • Dump to CSV/Postgres memory

    I have a large table (300 million lines) that I would like to dump to a csv - I need to do some processing that cannot be done with SQL. Right now I am using Squirrel as a client, and it does not apparently deal very well with large datasets - at least as far as I can tell from my own (limited) experience. If I run the query on the actual host, will it use less memory? Thanks for any help.

NOTE I really want to pass ONLY the value of $myValues['values'][$elem]['xx'] inside my function and return the changed value of $myValues['values'][$elem]['yy']. Can anybody help me with this? However, in situations like image compression, given that the data is already on the computer -- does compressed sensing offer anything? For example, would it offer better data compression?   • What are the steps taken with pip install in python

    I am trying to install a package via pip, but there were missing files from the zip file. So I copy the files and then compile with gcc. But now I cannot continue with the installation by calling pip install because it sees a pre-existing directory and will not proceed. This is with pip version 1.5.6, but I thought that with earlier versions of pip that it was less fussy about this. What are the remaining steps to complete the package installation?

I'm not very saavy in flash so this may be a simple question.. but how do you make a "movie-less" flash file? Is it possible to just embed an actionscript file? I generally use CType (and CInt, CBool, CStr) for casts because it is less characters and was the first way of casting which I was exposed to, but I am aware of DirectCast and TryCast as well. Simply, are there any differences (effect of cast, performance, etc.) between DirectCast and CType? I understand the idea of TryCast.
