    Hello, I have a RS232C/USB cable to connect an electronic device to my iMac Intel (MacOSX SnowLeo 10.6.3). Is there a utility program that allows for sending ASCII characters on the USB port that the RS232C device will understand? If possible, I'd rather avoid programming. I'd prefer an Automator script or a simple program with a GUI. Thanks

    Hello, Im looking for the best way to accomplish a full backup of our "vmail" accounts on our mail server (CentOS "iRedMail" 5.1). I also need to split on 4GB parts the resulting tar or bzip compressed backup, and get this DVD-RW burned, on same server. The idea is to get this procedure to running overnight, once a week. Our mail server holds about 45GB of information. I will appreciate any advise or help on this topic. Thanks.

    Hello, I've just installed ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop its all great but the screen resolution is a bit crap i have it set 1200:800 and when i do xrandr it indicates that the i can have a bigger screen resolution but i dont seem to to be able to increase it more 1200:800. another interesting thing is that xorg.conf does not exist on the /etc/X11/ is there a way to increase the screen resolution for Sony laptops? the graphics card is Intel Graphics Please help!

    Hello everyone, I have a simple script which runs on a FreeBSD machine with the following code: #!/bin/sh `sed -i .bak '\:#start 172.0.0.3:,\:#end 172.0.0.3:d' /usr/local/etc/racoon/racoon.conf` echo $? It should delete a block of text between the two patterns. The problem is that if I run the sed command directly from shell it works, if i run the script the return code is 0. Why's that?

    Hello, Each time I reboot a Windows 2003 server, after Windows has restared I get message dialogs for all the application crashes that happened since the last reboot. So after each reboot I have to click "Don't send" countless times, for crashes that happened weeks before. How can the display of these error messages be stopped?     Hello, I was a bit surprised when I purchased a VPS with 15GB of storage to find that am left with very little space after Windows' 13GB footprint. I can't even install SQL Server. Tech support is saying this is normal. I know that if they felt like it they could remove Windows from the quota or adjust it accordingly. Is this a common practice or should I further pursue the issue with customer service?
