    In my website (under development), the members can send messages to each other which are sent directly to their email, now I'm worried that some members can send spam to other members (I have a spam filter but it doesn't give 100% protection as you know), I'm worried that my domain might get blacklisted on Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL which will cause any messages sent from my domain to end up in the spam folder, this is why I want to add the domain of my website to their whitelists (if they exist). P.S. I don't want to use private messages that members check on the site and I have my reason for this. Thanks

    Hi All, We are currently working on a small IM project which pretty much works like gtalk and yahoo messenger. We came across a problem that puzzled us how gtalk/ym populate their contact lists. Given that the user has let's say more or less 500 contacts, both IMs seem to readily load the contacts pretty fast and already sorted. Here are my questions(referring to either): Does it cache its contacts, like saving it in a file somewhere upon exit so that upon log-in it readily extracts the contacts and displays it in its contact list? Does it always request for the VCARDS upon log in? OR they have a VCARD push or whatever that simply updates the contacts' profiles (like that of their status [presence push - available, busy, etc...] )?

Let's say that it's an RSS feed item's URL called item.link. Attempting to simply replace the quoted someurl with item.link gives you this error: Invalid identifier item.link. me is the only supported identifier in this context How can I pass this value in?

It is not required to be in the same order and google besides yahoo. No matter wherever it is in the line and give me a simple logic to it. i can able to query that thing.something like select * from table where column like("%google%yahoo%"). I want to develop this thing in php but how can i insert %.     I accidentally make Pidgin the default app for Yahoo Messenger URI scheme (ymsgr://) in Google Chrome. Now, whenever I click on a Yahoo Messenger URI scheme, instead of appearing a popup chat box, nothing happens. How can I change the default app to associate with this URI scheme back to Yahoo Messenger? I found a similar problem here. But I am using Windows 7, not Ubuntu, so the solution cannot be applied in my situation.

    I'm really new in Java and I really want to how do I convert the mouse clicks to co-ordinates in game. My game moves its images so that the camera could stay with the character. I follwed thenewboston tutorials. I have been modifying new codes for smoother gameplay. I have been searching the web for tutorials. This is one of the codes: PosGameX=MouseX+0; PosGameY=MouseY+0; I have not try this code but, I really think this would not work. The website I have visited, I think, is not good for coding. My gameplay is that when the mouse clicks on a position. It would try to get the co-ordinates(Mouse) and convert it to game co-ordinates.     My friend is working in one organisation for some time and wants to change a job. Problem is that motivation is money related (management is refusing to raise salary without any explanation despite 1) they don't have any questions nor problems related to his work 2) they promised raise long ago) and they won't find anyone to replace him. So they not just won't recommend him, but surely will say he is bad specialist and person as he leaves. Don't put that work in CV is not an option, so he thinks the possible solution is to reference his co-workers and teammates. He didn't work for them as employee, but he worked with them, so their (100% positive) feedback looks like fair compensation of what management will say. Is that correct? Looking for interviewers/employers opinion.

  • How to handle coworker with "obsessive refactoring disorder"

    My coworker (who is very clever, but with severly limited inter-personal skills), keeps refactoring my code even when it is work in progress and assigned to me as a task. Whereas I fully subscribed to the idea of collective ownership of code, I find this extremely irritating, but attempts to have him stop seem to have no effect. My analysis of his personality is that he considers himself the best, and if it had not been for him, the codebase would have been in a mess. I should add that I am not a novice, I know my skills and I produce quality work. Some of the refactorings are indeed to the better, most are basically just introduction of a style that he likes better than mine. In addition, he has a almost child-like need to have the last word in any discussion and has never any word of praise for work done by co-workers. There is always something that he, the master, would have done differently. I feel this is strongly affecting the quality of my work-life. What should I do ?

  • Calculating co-ordinate of a point on a path given a distance

    I'm working on a project that surveys the condition of a road or highway using a calibrated trip computer connected to a rugged-PC. An operator keys in defect codes as they travel along a pre-defined route. I need to show an indicator on the map screen that shows the vehicles current position, taking into account the distance data from the trip computer. I know the exact lat lon co-ordinates at the starting point of each section of road, and the road is made up of a series of points. The question is: how can I calculate the lat lon co-ordinates of the vehicle assuming that it has continued on the route and traveled a certain distance (e.g. 1.4km). The co-ordinates would be 'locked onto' the road line, as shown in blue on the diagram below. Thanks, Alex

    Hi, I'm new to Android, I've followed the hello world tutorial through and have a basic idea of what's going on. I'm particularly interested in the touch screen of my T-Mobile Pulse so just to get me started I want to be able to write the co-ordinates of a tocuh event on the screen, so say the user touched the co-ordinate 5,2 - a textview on the screen would display that. At present I have a simple program that just loads an xml file which contains the textview I intend to write the co-ordinates in. Thank you in advance, I did Google for help and searched stackoverflow but everything I found either went way over my head or wasn't suitable for this. Cheers.

    I am moving my farm (2 Dell's R620) to a co-location hosting service. I am trying to figure out the secure way to have my network settings The requirements are: VM1 is the working HOST, includes: esxi 5.1, vSphere, 4 clients (w2008r2 all) VM2 has esxi 5.1 installed, and a single machine with Veeam Backup and copy 6.5 - keeping a copy of VM1 clients on the VM2 internal storage (this solution is due to a very small budget - in case of failure on Host 1 - can redirect IP's) Only 2 VM clients require network address and access from the WWAN - ISP provides IP's range for them (with Gateway and DNS) I need connection to the iDrac's from my office (option to create a VPN-SSL tunnel) Connection to the vSphere appliances I want to be able to RDP to the VM clients The current configuration is that each host has the iDrac dedicated nic connected , and another (NIC #1) connected - with a static IP on 192.168.3.x The iDrac's have a static IP from the same network range (19.168.3.x) It will look something like this: My thoughts: On NIC#2 of both hosts I will connected a crossed cable I will give each VM clients that needs internet access a 2ndry VM network with the assigned IP from the ISP open only to web - can not access from the My Question: Should I give IP's (external) to the machines who DO NOT require WWAN Access? - I can't see a way to RDP to them directly if not. Should I use the crossed cable? or just plug NIC #2 to the switch? Will this setup even work? What do I need to verify? What Virtual nic's and/or switches should I create on the Hosts?

    For somebody who wants their web site to be as discoverable as possible (and who doesn't?), are Microsoft's Azure web sites (azurewebsites.net) a feasible domain to host sites? I have a site that is both on an azurewebsites.net and hosted under a completely different name by discountasp.net Both of these sites are exactly the same, except for the URL; whenever I update the code, I republish the site to/in both places. So obviosuly, they both have the same H1 and H2 elements. Searching for the value/content in my H1 tag, I find my .com site listed #3 on google and #2 on both Bing and Yahoo; OTOH, my azurewebsites.net site doesn't show up on the first page at all, in any of them. This makes me wonder if azurewebsites.net should only be used for Web API hosting and such-like, not for generic/commercial "public" sites. Are my conclusions valid?

    I am doing research about backlinks/PR/SEO/Search Result position and all I read about is that PageRank is not important, that it worth before but now it's not important at all. Only thing I found useful about it that is "change Search Result position", but ONLY if there are two sites with same keywords and same text content value, then Search Engine will check which site has higher PR and place that site above lowest one. Google counts PR importance as 20% for displaying search rankings, and Yahoo! is like 3%... Correct me if I am wrong... Is there any other good thing from it?

    Do you know a Firefox addon that adds postion number to Google/Yahoo results. When I do SEO report for www.some-site.com by keyphrase "some-keyphrase" I usually show results in blocks of 100 results per page. Then uisng browser find box I search for "some-site.com", if found in page I see its position, but I have to count by hand the number of results before (or after) it to know the exact position number. It would be handful a simple addon that adds a number positioning before each result like: 1. Result blah blah Snippet... url 2. Result blah blah Snippet... url etc.

    Thunderbird does not delete messages from the POP server. I am a Yahoo Plus user and I can download messages from the inbox in Thunderbird from the Yahoo POP3 server. However, I want to delete read messages directly on the email client rather than go to Yahoo mail. OK, boys and girls, here is the way to do it. Go to Options- Advanced - Config Editor find the Name 'mail . pop3 . deleteFromServerOnMove' Set it to True True: Delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you move or delete the message. False(default): Only delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you delete the message. That's it, restart Thunderbird. You need to press 'Get Mail' everytime you want to sync with the email server, in order for you to make sure messages in the application is in sync with the email server.**
