• Trouble with apache saarting on boot with ssl api key

  Im Running on Centos, the trouble is when i restart my server i need to start my apache and varnish service I use this to start both of them service httpd restart && service varnish restart But i would likw both of them to start when i reboot the server I read i could use this chkconfig httpd on But this is only for apache could i do this chkconfig varnish on Finally when i do y usual start of httpd , i am asked for my api key for SSL , am i able to incorporate this into resarting both varnish and httpd on start up. Or am i doomed to run this command everytime i resart

• Extract cert and private key from JKS keystore to use it in Apache2 httpd

  I tried to find this but no luck. I created a JKS keystore and generated a CSR, then imported the signed cert and intermediate and root CA certs. Used this keystore on Tomcat without problems. Now I want to use the same cert for Apache2 http server on the same machine. I actually want to set up mod_jk to redirect /*.jsp and servlets paths to Tomcat and serve the static content and PHP from Apache2. I tried to convert JKS to PKCS12 with keytool to afterwards handle it with openssl with a command like this: keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore foo.jks \ -destkeystore foo.p12 \ -srcstoretype jks \ -deststoretype pkcs12 The problem is only the cert is exported but not the rest of the chain. I actually used this keystore on Apache and it complained about key and cert don't matching (not sure if it's related to the chain or not). Can anyone point me on the right direction? I am not a server guy and I am kinda lost with all this things :-(

• WEP key not working on laptop running Ubuntu

  I can't connect to my router via wifi from my laptop (running Ubuntu) even if I'm 100% sure the WEP key I punch in is correct. It works via LAN though. I'm also not able to ping localhost 127.0.0.1. I had some problems setting up the radio on my network card but I think that that works since it finds some wireless networks. (Although it's much much faster than Windows it's useless since I can't download any libraries for development.) What could be wrong with my setup?

  I'm a newbie to AHK, learning the basics. I'm using Notepad as an example - I want to hit the Cancel key every time I close Notepad and it asks if I want to Save/Don't Save/Cancel. I've come up with the script below and it works once but then I have to reload the script to do it again. I want it to hit Cancel every time the question box comes up.   I have problem in running the command below using openssl-0.9.8e and apache in Ubuntu 11.10. do you have any idea to resolve it? first i was receiving this error: No such file or directory:bss_file.c:169:fopen('openssl.cnf','rb') then i copied my modified openssl.cnf file in the /etc/ssl/ directory. now i receive an error regarding -in option: openssl ca -days 3650 –in server/requests/ciise.concordia.ca.csr –cert ./CA/ConcordiaCA.crt –keyfile ./CA/ConcordiaCA.key –out ./server/certificates/ciise.concordia.ca.crt -config openssl.cnf unknown option –in I also copied ciise.concordia.ca.csr in the upper directory, but the problem still persists I would appreciate any help:)

• What's created this key combo?

  I've recently upgraded my iMac to OSX Mavericks. I'm finding that when I press Control-Shift-N something is immediately locking my screen and making it dark. I can still hear my streaming audio playing, so I guess it's not logging me out. I've looked carefully through the list of keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences, and that key combo isn't mentioned anywhere. Is there any place I can get a list of all active keyboard shortcuts? Is there any terminal command I can run to see which application has taken over this keypress combination? It's really annoying because I habitually use that combo in PHPStorm! (And yes, I have checked the keymaps there too.)

• Need help solving "Disk Error Press any key to restart" after blue screen in XP.

  I have had a couple of BSOD's lately and after the last one I got the disk error message. The disk shows up during the BIOS portion of the boot. It is in a Dell Precision 690 so the F12 key gives me a boot menu. I can boot from the utility partition, and if I specifically select the hard drive from the boot menu it will boot fine. Any ideas why if I just try to do an unattended boot, it give the error listed in the title?

• Citrix ICA Client on Mac shift key doesn't work as expected

  When I'm connected to a Windows XP computer from my Mac OS X 10.6 using the Citrix ICA Client, it seems that the shift key only works for the first letter typed after pressing shift. In order to type multiple uppercase letters, like ICA, I must either press caps lock, or press and release shift before each character. I've tried switching between standard and enhanced keyboard, as well as the 'Send Special Keys Unchanged' option, but none of these seem to affect the issue. The problem doesn't occur when I switch from the Citrix window to a regular Mac window.

  (i'm just trying to find what am I missing...) Assuming John have a clear text message , he can create a regular hash ( like md5 , or sha256) and then encrypt the message. John can now send Paul the message + its (clear text)hash and Paul can know if the message was altered. ( decrypt and then compare hashes). Even if an attacker can change the encrpyted data ( without decrypt) - - when paul will open the message - and recalc the hash - it wont generate the same hash as the one john sent him. so why do we need hash by key ?

  Hi I wrongly pressed the push button in linksys wap54g web administration. Then it restarted and stated that it's protected with WPA while I first configured it as WEP. So, my old key didn't work. What should I do? Plugin with wire cable to reconfigure it? - which is the only way? coz it was embedded in ceiling. I found no solutions in product manual and google. Thank you.

• Issue with Capslock key on Laptop

  For some reason my laptop has a mind of its own and the Caps Lock tends to come on whenever it feels like it. I thought it was an software issue from that reasoning, but I later cleared the OS and then reinstalled it hoping to fix the problem, but it didn't. Not only does it do that it also comes on and off whenever the letters A, S, and left shift key are pushed. So I assummed it was a keyboard issue and that the keyboard needs to be replaced, but it has one of those touch pad cap lock buttons also, because even when I press that button it tends to not react. So how can that be fixed with a keyboard replacement or is that connected still? • VMWare and ALT GR key results in missing characters

  For some odd reason WMware products hijack the AltGy-key despite I make sure that other keys are used as hot keys to release mouse and keyboard from the virtual machine. While this is not a problem for US keyboards, european however who extensively use AltGR for characters such as pipe (|), at-sign (@), left brace ({) and right brace (}). This seem to happen both in Windows and Linux and I can not seem to find a solution that works for both. :( Anyone have an idea how to fix this without the need to modify the guest OS every time? When I run the imaging process from an initial state, I get the following error remove disks or other media press any key to restart If I run the process subsequent times, It will work as desired, but I'm still interested in getting the process to work the first time.   in Windows, win+ <-- and win+ --> snap any window to the left/right side of a monitor, and if pressed again, snap the window to the other monitor, in multi-monitor environment. when a window is maximized, it will "restore" the window first, and at the next win+ <-- key the window will snap. this is very easy to use and remember. But on Linux a maximized window is not affected by win+ <-- , and the user must explicitly un-maximize it (win+down. the window is not moved to another monitor a side-snapped window cannot be resized - it behaves like a maximized window. is there another program that behaves like Windows, or I should write one by myself? (i'm using ubuntu/mint)

  For my company I'm starting to manage more and more domains; and with that more and more certificates for those domains. What is a good way to store the basic KEY and CSR files generated? I was considering a git repo on our private code server. This does not seem secure enough though. Would you suggest and other system, or how this can be done securely with a source control system like git? Also: Does it make sense to store the CRT files and CA files in use?

• Unable to access a registry key

  I wondered why some file associations were broken and stumnled upon a nasty problem: I cannot access the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes. As you can see above, I cannot view its current permissions, nor its owner (which should by SYSTEM). And no matter what I tried I'm unable to fix it. Trying to change the owner gives me a permission denied (also when trying from the Administrator account). RegDacl, which seemed to help another user, also aborts with a permission denied error. Any suggestions how to repair this? If I cannot repair this I guess I have to dump that user account and create a new one. Are there any "diff-like" tools out there to help copy over registry keys?

• Extract registry key from NTBackup System State backup

  A Windows Server 2003 machine died recently but I need some information that was contained in the now-defunct server's registry. I have a "System State" backup file created by the Windows Server 2003 built-in backup program (NTBackup.exe). Is there any way to extract a key/value out of the backup file? I might be able do a Win2003 install on a similar machine then do a system-state restore but that's a lot of effort and I don't know for certain that the system-state restore will work on a different spec machine. (Would it work if I booted up in 'safe mode'?) But I'd really rather just get at the data straight out of the NTBackup file zip-file-esque styles if that's possible.

• Server resolve issues not consistent

  I am having some weird issues with my web server. It has a public ip address and is set-up on an openVZ virtual machine. Accessing in to the site works fine every time but when trying to access out from the server I can't always connect out. Sometimes I can connect out and resolve addresses, sometimes I can't. The issue is visible in both ssh when trying to do a wget command on Google; sometimes it works and I get the index.html page and sometimes I get nothing. The issue is more visible in wordpress where you can't view themes but after a few presses of the try again button you can then view them. I have searched google and found nothing about this issue. Does anyone here have any ideas what could be causing this strange behaviour? Ports 80 and 2222 are open for web and ssh. • Using Different Mappings for Uppercase and Lowercase of the Same Key

  I'm trying use AutoHotkey to map some key combinations in a way that respects upper and lowercase, but I cannot get it to work. For example: I want: AppsKey + L types "a" AppsKey + Shift + L types "b" A. I've tried these, but both combinations only give "b" ("+" appears to be the symbol for shihft): AppsKey & l::Send a AppsKey & +l::Send b B. I've tried this, but it won't compile and gives a "invalid hotkey error": AppsKey & l::Send a AppsKey & Shift & l::Send b C. I've tried this, but it won't compile and gives a "duplicate hotkey error" (which makes sense as it appears the hotkey definitions are case insensitive): AppsKey & l::Send a AppsKey & L::Send b Is this type of mapping possible in AutoHotkey? What am I missing to make it work?

• Remap key combinations in Windows

  This question is similar to this one, but the accepted solution doesn't work in my case. I work on two different laptops. On one, the Home and End keys are only available by pressing Fn+Left and Fn+Right. This can make it rather annoying when switching between the two since I always go to press Fn-Right and not get what I want. The tool suggested in the other question is Sharpkeys, however it doesn't recognise Fn+Right as a different key from Right, and I suspect that registry twiddling isn't going to help me here. (?) Is there any way to remap this combination? (I'm on Windows Vista if that helps)

• Key modifiers affect remote VNC sessions in OS X

  I have two concurrent users of my MacBook: one local (with local peripherals) and one remote (connecting via VNC to a user kept logged in with fast user switching). As described here http://macosx.com/forums/howto-faqs/52547-howto-simultaneous-user-environments-via-vnc.html That's working fine, except that when I hit modifier keys (e.g. shift, option, ...), I also affect the remote user. For example, if I hold down shift, the remote user's key strokes are capitalised, and if I hold down option, they get strange glyphs instead of the normal letters. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it?

• Shortcut key for "Open file location" in Windows 7

  I'm new to Windows (former Mac user) and using Windows 7 for about two months now. I almost exclusively use the taskbar to navigate to files (i.e., I press the Win/meta key and start typing... my libraries and naming conventions make it pretty easy to get the correct file). Then I press enter and the file opens. Awesome. But sometimes I want to see the file in its folder (i.e., maybe I want to rename, move, copy, etc.). To do this I need to mouse/trackpad over and right click to get the "Open in file location" options. Is there another way, short of searching for the folder name instead? Is there a hotkey/shortcut for "Open file location"? Thanks!
