• Permissions denied on apache rewrite module virtual host configuration

  All of a sudden I keep getting "Permissions denied" on apache 2 virtualhost once we moved it to its own conf file. I have tried all the suggestions I have found here but none work. Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?   I am trying here to do a manual translation for the application I am working with. (There is already a working LocalizationModule but it's working dodgy, so I can't use <asp:Localize /> tags. Normally with ResourceManager you are supposed to be using it as Namespace.Folder.Resourcename (in an application). Currently I am translating an existing asp.net "website" (not web application so no namespace here....). The resources are located into a folder name "Locales/resources" which contains "fr-ca.resx" and "en-us.resx". • Why does localization with resx files fail with ZH (chinese) only?

  Howdy All, I've been tasked with localizing an English language ASP.NET MVC 2.0 website into 7 additional languages. I've added resource files to the Views Home App_LocalResources folder: Example: Index.resx, Index.es.resx, Index.fr.resx, Index.zh.resx, etc. I have set the CustomTool to PublicResXFileCodeGenerator (Access modifier is Public), Set file as an Embedded Resource, Set a Custom Tool Namespace. The keys ("Name") in all of the files are the same. For 7 languages this works perfectly. If I go into IE 8 settings and change the language to de,fr,it, etc., the page shows the appropriate translated strings. However, when I set the language in the Browser to any of the zh (Simplified Chinese) variants localization completely fails and the English strings are displayed. Is there something special about Simplified Chinese? Japanese and Korean work without problems. TIA, Trey Carroll

  Here's an obscure problem. I'm using an InfoPlist.strings to localize my app name. It's only got one value: CFBundleDisplayName = "Mon App". The strings file is localized (putting it in a directory for that localization). I've just made an extra target, where I change things like the non-localized app name (different Info.plists), and the icon. I'm also changing the Default.png using a run script build phase (copying different files depending on the app type I'm building). I've tried using the script to copy different versions of my InfoPlist.strings, but I couldn't make it work. Here's what I used: if($TARGET_NAME == "MonApp")then cp fr.lproj/MonApp_InfoPlist.strings fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings endif I've seen a post suggesting wincent strings util for processing strings, but wanted to see if there's an easy way to do this.   Hello, This is my messages_en_US.properties file in WEB-INF/classes folder :- Login=Login And then i created messages_fr_FR.properties :- Login=frenchLogin Then in my JSF page i wrote this :- <f:loadBundle basename="messages" var="msg"/> <h:commandButton id="btnLogin" value="#{msg.Login}" actionListener="#{IndexBean.doLogin}"/> I can correctly see the Login text by default. But when i go in firefox and change my default language to fr-fr, my text still remains the same i.e i can't see frenchLogin. I don't have anything in my faces-config.xml What am i doing wrong?   I have a table which contains house details called property. I am creating a localised application, and I have a db table called propertylocalised. In this table is held duplicates of the data and culture column e.g. key culture propertyname 1 en helloproperty 1 fr bonjourproperty At the moment I have all my en culture inserted but I want to duplicate all of those rows and then for every other row insert fr into culture. I obviously only want to do this once, for the purpose of setting up the localisation. Thanks Andy

I have a model class : class MyModel(models.Model): date = models.DateField("Date") And associated admin class class MyModelAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): pass On django administration interface, I would like to be able to input a date in following format : dd/mm/yyyy. However, the date field in the admin form expects yyyy-mm-dd. How can I customize things ? The DateTime.Tostring() method has a list of patterns that are very useful but I would like a very small change in it. Any way to achieve that without too much custom code?

  Hi, I run into the following errors when i try to store a large file into a string. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.util.Arrays.copyOf(Arrays.java:2882) at java.lang.AbstractStringBuilder.expandCapacity(AbstractStringBuilder.java:100) at java.lang.AbstractStringBuilder.append(AbstractStringBuilder.java:515) at java.lang.StringBuffer.append(StringBuffer.java:306) at rdr2str.ReaderToString.main(ReaderToString.java:52) As is evident, i am running out of heap space. Basically my pgm looks like something like this. FileReader fr = new FileReader(<filepath>); sb = new StringBuffer(); char[] b = new char[BLKSIZ]; while ((n = fr.read(b)) > 0) sb.append(b, 0, n); fileString = sb.toString(); Can someone suggest me why i am running into heap space error?   I have the following query: select * from ACADEMIC a left join RESIDENCY r on a.PEOPLE_CODE_ID = r.PEOPLE_CODE_ID where a.ACADEMIC_TERM='Fall' and r.ACADEMIC_TERM='Fall' and a.ACADEMIC_SESSION='' and a.ACADEMIC_YEAR = (Select Year(GetDate())) and r.ACADEMIC_YEAR = (Select Year(GetDate())) and (CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'FR%' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'SO' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'JR' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'SR%') and r.RESIDENT_COMMUTER='R' For each person in the database it returns two rows with identical information. Yet, when I do the same query without the left join: select * from ACADEMIC a where a.ACADEMIC_TERM='Fall' and a.ACADEMIC_SESSION='' and a.ACADEMIC_YEAR = (Select Year(GetDate())) and (CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'FR%' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'SO' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'JR' OR a.CLASS_LEVEL LIKE 'SR%') ORDER BY PEOPLE_ID It returns only one row for each person. I'm doing a left join - why is it adding an extra row? Shouldn't it only do that if I add a right join?

• Microsoft sublanguage string to locale identifier

  I can't seem to find a way to convert, or find, a local identifier from a sublanguage string. This site shows the mappings: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd318693(v=VS.85).aspx I want the user to enter a sublanguage string, such as "France (FR)" and to get the local identifier from this, which in this case would be 0x0484. Or the other way around, if a user enters 0x0480 then to return French (FR). Has anyone encountered this problem before and can point me in the right direction? Otherwise I'm going to be writing a few mapping statements to hard code it and maintain future releases if anything changes. BTW, I'm coding in C++ for Windows platform. Cheers

  Ok so I've been reading up on HTTP and found this page. This is an example HTTP request that was posted there: GET /http.html Http1.1 Host: www.http.header.free.fr Accept: image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, Accept-Language: Fr Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 4.0) Connection: Keep-Alive I tried it in telnet and it worked. But everywhere else I see this kind of request line GET /http.html HTTP/1.1 The important different is that HTTP is all caps and the / character. Are they both correct? They both seem to work on the sites I've tested it on. I've skimmed the RFC of HTTP but didn't find anything of use. Has anyone else seen this kind of request header? Is it officially supported?

  Maybe this has an obvious solution that I'm overlooking, but I can't seem to find the correct parameter to put in to make this happen. Using the Google Translate widget on a site, I need to set the default language that the user sees when entering the site, even though the site is english. function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({ pageLanguage: 'en' }, 'google_translate_element'); } I've tried adding: defaultLanguage: 'fr' and tried: targetLanguage: 'fr' I did find some nice jQuery solutions, but didn't want to bypass this if it was an easy fix. • CSS not displayed depending on page

  I have a friend that has a really strange issue with my website. When he clicks on http://www.copeo.fr/ the page displays fine but when he clicks on a link like www.copeo.fr/user/ the CSS is not applied even after a refresh. The raw html does display. I asked him to display the CSS that is hosted on amazon S3 hcopeoressources.s3.amazonaws.com/style/futurvert/style.css and it displays fine. The code validates on W3C validator so does the CSS. I am lost what could be the origin of the issue. Could it be its enterprise cache? configuration of IE7 on his machine? If it happens to someone else who could explain the issue to me, I am all hears. Thanks

• IE incompatibility with JavaScript (surprised?)

  I am coding my website, and a friend of mine was helping me. This code does not work on IE 10 (Windows 7). I even tried the legacy modes and to no avail. Upon clicking on "services" for example, this code would work on FF or Chrome. But, not on IE.
