• Ajax basic email code without reloading page

  I have in a previous Q found out that I need an ajax-function to send an email (submit a contact form) without reloading the page. This is for my classifieds website, where when users are viewing a classified they have the option to "tip a friend" by entering their friends email-adress and submitting the form. But I don't want to reload the page, that would be frustrating and not so clever. The only input in the form is a text input which will contain the email-adress to send to, and another hidden input which contains the classified_id nr, to identify which classified it is. The website is php based btw... Does anybody have a simple script for this? I have no experience in Ajax at all... And would really appreciate it. Thanks PS: Would prefer no Jquery, due to clients own reasons...

• Trying to connect internally to Oracle, getting an idle instance?

  So I have an Oracle instance, and I know it's running on this system, I've su'd to the oracle user, and I'm trying to connect using "/ as sysdba". However, when I do connect, it says the instance is idle. I know the database is up and opened, because my application's talking to it. • How to get or make a WPF WebBrowser with a visual.

  Having problems related to WPF WebBrowser not having a visual. Reason being, that it actually a wrapper around the winforms browser. Anyways, I searched the web for any solution to this problem, and got hold of the following suggestions: http://chriscavanagh.wordpress.com/2009/08/25/a-real-wpf-webbrowser/ http://rob.runtothehills.org/archives/60 The first one solves everything, but seems like an overkill. Plus, the dll's should be licensed for commercial use. The second one seems simple, but not able to figure out when to refresh the screen. Plus there's so much to do like sending mouse and keyboard messages to the webbrowser. P.S. The problem I'm trying to solve is to show the same webbrowser on different windows. They both must be interactive, and always in sync visually.

  hi there I need to have some images into my database, and the thing is that i need that images to have certain file names, dimensions and text on it. I know how to generate some images using the opencv lib, but this means that i need to install the lib and do just that job(which sounds as reinventing the wheel). Do you think is worth to do that or maybe you have a better idea? ps: the images are for testing stage of a software application, so i don;t need anything fancy or artistic.

  Hi, I have a GridView and I need update some data inserting HTML CODE; I would need this data been stored encoded and decoded on request. I cannot in any way disable globally "Request Validation" and not even at Page Level, so I would need a solution to disable "Request Validation" at Control Level. At the moment I am using a script which should Html.Encode every value being update, butt seems that "Request Validation" start its job before event RowUpdating, so I get the Error "Page A potentially dangerous Request.Form ... ". Any idea how to solve it? • Is there any framework for Windows Forms, DB driven application development/prototyping?

  I'm writing simple database driven application, 80% of functionality is CRUD operations on about 15 tables. Coming from web development background I figured I can cover almost all of these CRUD cases with Rails scaffolding or say Django admins. So I started to look around for Rails/Django-like framework but for Windows Forms applications (ofcourse I understand that "rich client" application development significantly differs from a web development and I'm not expecting anything really similar). I was surprised that except for a variety of ORMs (let's call it Model-layer) it seems like I'm left with little choice when it comes to View-Controller layer. Maybe I'm missing something? PS. I evaluated Visual Studio DataSet Designer, but it seems to work only for the most simple cases, and requires additional code for any slightly nontrivial task.   How do I make an image appear on the top of a page and not showing up in the listing post of my upcoming website: www.xternalit.co.uk? Example: when i type: abcdefg then "more option" then below "more option", id have an image. When the user click on "read more" they will see "abcdefg the an image. I dont want that. I want when they click on "read more" they would see the image first and then "abcdefg". Is this possible with a plugin or tweaking of my template? Cheers! • Wordpress - Plugin - Administration - ?

  Hi, I'm building a Wordpress plugin and I added a menu page which serves for management of "Vendor" entities that are kinda similar to the existing User entities. I have a list page similar to Users List, with Edit button for every record and when I click on the "Edit" button I should be taken to the "Edit Vendor" (which does not have its submenu item in the admin menu) page for that vendor. Everything is stored in the "plugins/wp_vendors" folder. Question: What URL should I use for opening that Edit page? How should a slug be registered for the Edit Vendor page? PS. Vendor List is added to the admin menu with add_menu_page('Vendors', 'Vendors', 8, 'C:\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\wp-vendors\vendors-list.php'); And I can open the List page with http://localhost/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-vendors/vendors-list.php Can anyone help me on this?

• How can I find the nearest intersection via the Google Maps API?

  How can I find the closest intersection of the street I have coordinates of? For instance, say I have street A running from south to north that is crossed by street X on the north and by street Y on the south. Does the Google Maps API allow for finding coordinates of the nearest crossroad (either X or Y) of street A? I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere. PS: The only solution I am aware of is to guess the lowest number and the highest number of building on the street A and to draw polyline between them. I am not sure about this though.

• Displaying full path of filename in tabs ~ Netbeans 6.8

  I can't seem to find a way in the options to display the full path of the file at the title of the tab. I can hover over it to see it, but it would be nice to see it at a glance. There is a SU question about it also, http://superuser.com/questions/88637/netbeans-how-to-view-file-full-path-in-window-title-or-somewhere-else Does anyone have a solution for this to actually display it? I can see there is a custom .jar for it in the RC2 Netbeans, but that's probably way old now. PS, I should mention that a path relative to the project would be ideal, as well as a full path. • How to flush output after each `echo` call?

  Hi all! I've a php script that only produces logs to the client. When I echo something, i wan't it to be transfered to client on-the-fly. (Because while the script is processing, the page is blank) I had already played arround with ob_start() and ob_flush(), but they didn't worked. What's the best solution? Since I haven't found a solution yet I thought I tried something else in the meantime: search for every <a href= and copy whatever is there until I hit a </a>. Now, my C is a bit rusty but I do remember i can use strstr() to get the first instance of that string, but how do I get the rest? Any help is appreciated.   I'm new to PHP, and it appears that the way I learn the fastest is to study a new language a well developed complete program (or website, in this case) changing stuff seeing what happens and consulting books. There are lots of recommendations of books all around, and that's pretty much covered. I'd like to find the sourcecode of a website. Either a well known, well developed open-source website, or a sample sourcecode of a complete website (maybe one used in a book or something). Everyone says they should find the way they learn better.. Well, that's mine. PS.: By complete I mean having several common functionalities (such as login), database connection, use of security conventions, maybe a popular framework, and being up-to-date.

• How do I programmatically nullify a File Attachment in InfoPath Forms

  Howdy all, I'm running into a problem with some InfoPath C# code while trying to remove an attachment from a form. Basically the process is: User opens form User clicks button File attachment is cleared I've tried adding a blank attachment to my schema that never becomes populated, then setting the original field's value equal to that value by the method below. When debugging the form I catch an error: Schema validation found non-data type errors.   I am creating a Cocoa Application for Mac OS 10.6 , and I want to hide the toolbar of an NSWindow automatically when it is not in use for at least 30 seconds. I think this can be done with NSTimers, but I'm not familiar with them and I don't know how I can implement this. Another problem is that both the NSToolbarDelegate and NSWindowDelegate protocols don't have delegate methods like toolbarDidShow: Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. PS. This is not to punish the user, but rather give the user a cleaner window (the window consist of only a toolbar for color and font and a text-view). PPS. Can the hide-toolbar-animation lead into a problem with the cursor while the user is typing?

• How to get total cpu usage in Linux (c++)

  I am trying to get total cpu usage in %. First I should start by saying that "top" will simply not do, as there is a delay between cpu dumps, it requires 2 dumps and several seconds, which hangs my program (I do not want to give it its own thread) next thing what I tried is "ps" which is instant but always gives very high number in total (20+) and when I actually got my cpu to do something it stayed at about 20... Is there any other way that I could get total cpu usage? It does not matter if it is over one second or longer periods of time... Longer periods would be more useful, though.

  Hi All I am wondering if someone would be such an expert in guice that he even would know how to implement that : I have an injection annotation (@ConfParam)with some parameters , like that : class TestClass { private final int intValue; @Inject public TestClass(@ConfParam(section = "test1", key = "1") int intValue{ this.intValue = intValue; } public int getIntValue() { return intValue; } } The ConfParam is my custom annotation. Now , when the injection value is requested , I would like guice to create a dynamic binding, to resolve the value. For that binding I will need the parameters inside the annotation. Some example could be , I will have to look in the database in some table where the section is ? and the key is ?. All the trouble is that the data is not available when the injector is created and could be also be added at runtime. Ps. I static solution is easy. ( just have a look at the Names class)

• I'm asked to tune a long starting app into a short time period

  Hi, I'm asked to shorten the startup period of a long starting app, however I have also to obligate to my managers to the amount of time i will reduce the startup - something like 10-20 seconds. As i'm new in my company I said I can obligate with timeframe of months (its a big server and I'm new and i plan to do lazy load + performance tuning). that answer was not accepted I was required to do some kind of a cache to hold important data in another server and then when my server starts up it would reach all its data from that cache - I find it a kind of a workaround and i don't really like it. do you like it? what do you think I should do? any suggestions? PS when i profiled the app i saw many small issues that make the startup long (like 2 minutes) it would not be a short process to fix all and to make lazy load.
