    Hi, I have problem with one my conputer, it does not display any website properly. The background clouds on some websites do not show up, the layout of some websites are not properly displayed. And it only happen to only one computer. OS: Windows XP IE: 7 (not working on either IE7 or IE 8) I have tried to add my website as trusted site still that site is not working properly. I also tried Internet Options Advanced ... Check Show images, smart image dithering, enable visual styles in button and controls on webwage. Is there anything else I could do to fix the problem? Any help is appreciated

  • Monitor not recognised after apt-get upgrade on 11.10 - maximum 1024x768 resolution

    I did an apt-get upgrade through update manager on 11.10. After restarting my VGA monitor is no longer recognised and I can only get a maximum of 1024x768 on a 1440x900 monitor.     My wifi worked perfect until I updated to the latest version of Ubuntu. Now I don't find any wireless connections at all. I have tried lots of guides on the internet but I can't get it to work. I did however start to work once after writing something I don't remember in Terminal, but after rebooting it stopped working again.   • Drawing Grid in 3D view - Mathematically calculate points and draw line between them (Not working)

    I'm trying to draw a simple grid from a starting point and expand it to a size. Doing this mathematically and drawing the lines between each point, but since the "DrawPrimitives(LineList)" doesn't work the way it should work, And this method can't even draw lines between four points to create a simple Rectangle, so how does this method work exactly? Some sort of coordinate system: [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] [ ][2.2][ ][0.2][ ][2.2][ ] [ ][2.1][1.1][ ][1.1][2.1][ ] [ ][2.0][ ][0.0][ ][2.0][ ] [ ][2.1][1.1][ ][1.1][2.1][ ] [ ][2.2][ ][0.2][ ][2.2][ ] [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] I've checked with my method and it's working as it should. It calculates all the points to form a grid. This way I should be able to create Points where to draw line right? This way, if I supply the method with Size = 2 it starts at 0,0 and works it through all the corners (2,2) on each side. So, I have the positions of each point. How do I draw lines between these? VerticeCount = must be number of Points in this case, right? So, tell me, if I can't supply this method with Point A, Point B, Point C, Point D to draw a four vertice rectangle (Point A - B - C - D) - how do I do it? How do I even begin to understand it? As far as I'm concered, that's a "Line list" or a list of points where to draw lines. Can anyone explain what I'm missing? I wish to do this mathematically so I can create a a custom grid that can be altered.

  • Wired card not connecting after trying to connect

    I have an Ubuntu 12.10 PC. When I plug in my internet cable it starts connecting and after a minute it says it can't connect. I tried different cables but nothing works. Wlan works. I think it's the network driver but I don't know how to install/update it.     I have successfully setup PXE server on Ubuntu 12.04 with DNSMASQ for DHCP Proxy Service, TFTPD-HPA for TFTP service, NFS-KERNEL-SERVER, APACHE2 and SYSLINUX for pxelinux.0 bootloaded needed for pxe boot using the following POST: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1606910 I was successfully able to pxe boot a client to a Ubuntu 12.04 LIVE CD. Next, I want to PXE boot a client to a RHEL 6.5 x64 Kernel and initrd image. I dont want to install, just boot a client so that it mounts initrd and I can get a minimal filesystem on the client. How can I do that? Please Help!!

The domain is registered with Google Apps for Business and the hosting is done with another company. I have some A records that are pointing the site to this server. However, as it appears the A records are only working halfway. What do I have to do to make it working for both http:// and http://www ?

    I am running 64 bit Ubuntu on Dell with 1GB graphic card. I login with "Ubuntu" hoping to see Unity 3d but it doesn't. Unity 2D runs instead. when I type in echo "$DESKTOP_SESSION" it confirms the Unity-2D. I've checked the System info that shows like : The graphics row shows itself as empty. SO I've presumed that the graphic drivers aren't detected and hence I went to Unity- Additional Drivers and installed the fglrx driver that the UI has suggested. Even after installing so, the graphics part in System info details shows nothing and still Unity 2D runs in spite of all the effort. Please help! How can I get my Unity 3D back?     I got the following external sound card to make some awesome noise with my speaker set. It should be plug and play, but it so happens that when I plug it in and hook everything up, there's no sound at all.     i have the windows XP media edition running on my Dell Inspiron E1405 with all the hardware working properly. Recently i wipe out the windows and installed the Ubuntu 12.04 LTE using the CD and the installation process completed successfully but my wireless stopped working after. computer wireless indicator turned off and i can't even do the wired connection as well. it is Broadcom BCM4311 adapter. i tried to download the driver from the dell website but they don't have the Linux version of the driver if its that causing the problem. i appreciate your help that can solve my issue. thank you.

  • Gparted not working in live CD (usb)

    Using ubuntu 10.10 live usb. When atempting to open gparted (sudo gparted in a terminal), its window gets stuck a few seconds and disappears (i noticed that it closes when it's searching for /dev/sda/ partitions). After a while a window appears telling gparted closed unexpectedly and asking to restart it. Choosing this option won't do any effect. Typing sudo fdisk -l in a terminal does show a list of the drives and partitons correctly. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Gnome Shell installed not working in Ubuntu 12.04

    I had Gnome Shell working perfectly on my desktop, and I tried to install it on my laptop by the exact same method, (tried apt-get, synaptic and software centre), but it won't work. It seems to install fine with no errors. If I select "Gnome" at login, I get the "Gnome Classic" interface rather than Gnome Shell. My laptop has sufficient specs to run Gnome Shell. Am I missing something? EDIT: I have just discovered that under System Details Graphics, it says "Unknown". So, Ubuntu hasn't recognised my graphics card, and I'm guessing this is why Gnome Shell can't work. I have a nVidia GeForce GT 525M. How can I get it working? (as you may have realised, I'm a linux noob)

    so i have upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and i installed smplayer from the repositories. The thing is when i play a movie (even in full screen) the screen saver comes up.   • disk not accessible

    i formatted my hard drive yesterday and it was working well even after the formatting. But when I restarted my system again , is is showing that the space is alloted to my files but they are inaccessible. I have even tried to unhide the files and folders, if they got hidden somehow. But nothing works. the hard drive is being shown empty but the properties are saying that it still conatins the data : http://imgur.com/ObjTE in the image, it is showing that the directory has only 1 file of size:4.8 kbps but the space being used by the drive is 11.6 GB. do suggest some solution.

  • Windows 7- New Windows Are Not Displayed

    I am running an up-to-date and OEM version of Windows 7. I have been experiencing an annoying problem for the past few weeks where new windows are not displayed 70-80% of the time. For example, when I launch notepad, the notepad window is not displayed or when I select save from the file menu, the save dialog is not displayed. The window is there, but it is not being displayed; the screen is not refreshed. The way to work around this problem is to force a system-wide refresh by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+DEL and then cancelling hiding all windows using "show desktop" then displaying the window needed via taskbar Can anyone please point me in the right direction to solving this problem? What could be causing this?

  • WMV will play audio but not show images (dark screen)

    This happens on one computer. On the other computer I can see the video. I've installed GStreamer, FFMpeg and Ubuntu Restricted Extras. On the computer where it doesn't work, I've tried both Movie Player and VLC. There must be some difference between the two computers, but how can I obtain all the system information in such a way that a diff could be reasonably done? Or just any other suggestion on how to solve this would be appreciated. :-)
