• SVN hook script conflict

  I am trying to write a pre-commit hook script that will alter a specific svn-property of a folder/file. The script looks fairly similar to the one that is documented in the svn book. I figured out how to set/change the property of a node and when executing the binding function svn.fs.commit_txn the property of the node actually gets set. But at the moment tortoise always gives me a conflict on the folder I am altering the property. I wrote my script with Python but am new python and hook scripts. Hope someone can give me a clue why I am getting this conflict..

• Can SqlAnywhere's UltraLiteJ DB tables be viewed in the Database Explorer of the Eclipse IDE

  Hi, I am developing a Blackberry app which should be able to access a DB. Here is my development environment and the tools I am using: Eclipse (Galileo) IDE with the Blackberry plugin installed. Blackberry OS 5.0 SQLAnywhere's DB 11 with UltraLiteJ (I am targeting Blackberrys running OS 4.1 and above) I have successfully executed a sample project for building a Blackberry application that uses the UltraLiteJ DB, following the tutorial in the UltraLiteJ documentation*. The tutorial creates, populates and retrieves data from the DB using java code. Now, I want to be able to access the tables and view data in them from the Eclipse IDE. Something similar to the FireFox plugin for SqlLite or say the Enterprise Manager for Sql Server 2005 which is a DB Explorer providing access to the StoredProcedures, Views, DB Diagrams etc. for a Database. • SHA1 form .exe file in C#

  Hi! I hope that someone could help me with reading exe files in C# and create a SHA1 hash from it. I have tried to read from executable file using StreamReader and BinaryReader. Then using built-in SHA1 algorithm I tried to create a hash but without success. The algorithm results for StreamReader was "AEUj+Ppo5QdHoeboidah3P65N3s=" and for BinaryReader was "rWXzn/CoLLPBWqMCE4qcE3XmUKw=". Can anyone help me to acheive SHA1 hash from exe file? Thx. BTW Sorry for my English ;)

• ASP.Net AJAX controls, adding via .ashx page

  Okay, this is a continuation of a previous question of mine, but it is distinct enough to be its own question. Based on user interaction, I'm calling a .ashx handler via a jquery ajax call, and that handler is building some html for me that includes some Telerik controls like a masked textbox (masked for a phone number like "(###) ###-####". I got around all the hurdles of using Render() to get the html output of a server control even when it doesn't have a "Page" object or a ScriptHandler object. However, when I show the control to a user, I see the mask in the text of the textbox, but the mask doesn't "work" in the sense that when a user starts typing, it is as if the mask is really just text. So, my question is, after putting the html code out for a masked textbox, how do I tell whatever javascript is supposed to mask the input to really start masking on that specific control? I really hope this made sense. Please tell me if you need any clarification.

  I'm looking for some way of using the number-crunching ability of a GPU (with Java perhaps?) in addition to using the multiple cores that the target machine has. I will be working on implementing (at present) the A* Algorithm but in the future I hope to replace it with a Genetic Algorithm of sorts. I've looked at Project Fortress but as I'm building my GUI in JavaFX, I'd prefer not to stray too far from a JVM. Of course, should no feasible solution be available, I will migrate to the easiest solution to implement.

• Pervasive SQL german Umlauts Problem

  Hi there, I'm using the Pervasive SQL - ADO.NET 3.5 DataProvider for retrieving data out of the PSQL DB and I've noticed that the german umlauts (äöüÄÖÜ etc.) are not represented correctly in the PSQLDataReader, but in the Pervasive Control Center (similar to the sql management studio) the umlauts are all correct. Is there anything similar to the TSQL "SET LANGUAGE"-command? I havn't found something like that for Pervasive SQL. Googling this issue wasn't successful at all, too. Although I did find some tips with a file called upper.alt or collate.cfg, but don't know how to use this files and I coudn`t find them in my installation. (I'm totally new to Pervasive...) I hope that someone on here could help me with that. Thanks in advance

  I can't seem to figure out how to add additional functionality to the basic jquery autocomplete. • How do I use the Silicon Laboratories IDE with SDCC?

  I'm thinking about using a microcontroller with an 8051 core from Silicon Laboratories. I hope that I can use C rather than assembly language, so I installed SDCC. I installed the "Silicon Laboratories IDE" to download the executable binaries to the on-chip Flash program memory. It also supposedly can be set up (under the Project Tool Chain Integration menu) to use "any" 8051 compiler. I tried to set it up to use SDCC, but every time I hit the "Assemble/Compile File" button it tells me "Compiler process did not sucessfully complete." How do I get new C code I write onto the SiLabs C8051F310 chip? Is there a web site with a step-by-step HOWTO? (Would it be easier to use a MAKEFILE that calls SDCC, only using the "Silicon Laboratories IDE" for the very last step of downloading the executable binary to the chip?)

• What's the best way to change the namespace of a highly referenced class?

  I am attempting to move a highly referenced class from one namespace to another. Simply moving the file into the new project which has a different root namespace results in over 1100 errors throughout my solution. Some references to the class involve fully qualified namescape referencing and others involve the importing of the namespace. I have tried using a refactoring tool (Refactor Pro) to rename the namespace, in the hope all references to the class would change, but this resulted in the aforementioned problem. Anyone have ideas of how to tackle this challenge without needing to drill into every file manually and changing the fully qualified namespace or importing the new one if it doesn't exist already? • Problem searching a NSMutableArray

  Basically, I have a UISearchBar searching an NSMutableArray of stories that make up an RSS feed, and when you select a story, it loads in my app's UIWebView. It's difficult to explain, but I have a list of entries 1, 2, 3, and 4 and you search for '4'. 4 will be the first entry in the now-filtered list of data, right? You'd think that by selecting 4, it would load in the UIWebView. Well, the app seems to not recognize that you're selecting the first entry in a filtered list of data, and instead thinks that you're selecting the first entry in the unfiltered array of data, so it loads entry 1. Everything looks right in my code, but obviously it isn't. I know it's a confusing problem, but I hope I made it somewhat clear. • Hidding a Flash SWF upon loading

  Hello, I have a question that is probably very simple, but I cannot find an answer here or on Google. I am loading a SWF in an HTML page the following way (using JavaScript): AC_FL_RunContent( "src", "${swf}", .... "type", "application/x-shockwave-flash", "pluginspage", "http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" ); I have tried to add the line: "style", "visibility: hidden" But it has not worked. I can later on make it visible or hidden using: document.getElementById("flash").style.visibility = "hidden"; But I would like to have the flash invisible and make it visible later on, but by adding a parameter in the AC_FL_RunContent. • Texture allocations being doubled in iPhone OpenGL ES

  The below couple lines are called 15 times during initialization. The tx-size is reported at 512 everytime, so this will allocate a 1mb image in memory 15 times, for a total of 15mb used.. However, I noticed instruments is reporting a total of 31 allocations! (15*2)+1 glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, tx-size, tx-size, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, spriteData); free(spriteData); Likewise in another area of my program that allocates 6 256x256x4 (256kB) textures.. I see 13 sitting there. (6*2)+1 Anyone know what's going on here? It seems like awful memory management, and I really hope it's my fault. Just to let everyone know, I'm on the simulator.

  I'm using ruby and I want to splice out a piece of a string that matches a regex (I think this is relatively easy, but I'm having difficulty) I have several thousand strings that look like this (to varying degrees) my_string = "adfa <b>weru</b> orua fklajdfqwieru ofaslkdfj alrjeowur woer woeriuwe <img src=\"/images/abcde_111-222-333/111-222-333.xml/blahblahblah.jpg\" />" I would like to splice out the /111-222-333.xml (the value of this changes from string to string, but suffice it to say is that I want to remove the piece between 2 forward slashes that contains something.xml. my hope was to find a match like this my_match = my_string.match(/\/.+?\.xml\//) but this actually captures "/b> orua fklajdfqwieru ofaslkdfj alrjeowur woer woeriuwe <img src=\"/images/abcde_111-222-333/111-222-333.xml/" I assumed that .+? would match what I am looking for, but it seems like it starts with the first forward slash that it finds (even though it's non-greedy) and then expands forward to the ".xml"). Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? TKS!!

  Hi Guys, I recently wrote C programs for image processing of BMP images, I had to read the pixel values and process them, it was very simple I followed the BMP header contents and I could get most of the information of the BMP image. Now the challenge is to process videos (Frame by Frame), how can I do it? How will I be able to read the headers of continuous streams of image frames in a video clip? Or else, is it like, for example, the mpeg format will also have universal header, upon reading which I can get the information about the entire video and after the header, all the data are only pixels. I hope I could convey. Has anyone got experience with processing videos? Any books or links to tutorials will be very helpful. Vikram

  Hey, I have a Ruby on Rails application setup like so: User Model has_and_belongs_to_many :roles Role Model has_many :transactions has_and_belongs_to_many :users Transaction Model belongs_to :role This means that a join table is used called roles_users and it also means that a user can only see the transactions that have been assigned to them through roles, usage example: user = User.find(1) transactions = user.roles.first.transactions This will return the transactions which are associated with the first role assigned to the user. If a user has 2 roles assigned to them, at the moment to get the transactions associated with the second role I would do: transactions = user.roles.last.transactions I am basically trying to figure out a way to setup an association so I can grab the user's transactions via something like this based on the roles defined in the association between the user and roles: user = User.find(1) transactions = user.transactions I am not sure if this is possible? I hope you understand what I am trying to do.

  probably something simple how do i get google analytics to detect traffic that comes from a website that redirects to another? i.e someone visits www.abc.com, and are redirected to another site <?php header("Location:www.cde.com"); ?> how do i track these hits? nothing comes up..as i guess it's not strictly a "referrer". hope this makes sense..thanks or is there a better way to do this? I want to track hits on anyone visiting domain X, which redirects to another site. Essentially we are doing a radio campaign with this new domain and would like to measure its effectiveness. thanks

• Combining iPhone/iPad apps into one universal app

  I have two apps (one for the iPhone, the other for the iPad) that I'd like to combine into one universal app. For my first attempt, I tried creating a new universal app project and added the libraries for the iPhone and iPad versions. The iPad version compiled and ran fine (as expected), but the iPhone version didn't. My hope was that I could create a universal app that would execute only the project in the iPhone library when running on the iPhone and vice versa for the iPad. It seems like this should still work. Is there a way to tell the universal app project to ignore one of the external libraries when compiling for the iPad and vice versa for the iPhone? Thanks!

• How can I receive CameraActivities result in a DIFFERENT Activity (i.e. not in the launching one)?

  Hi, I hope the title says it all: I've got Activity A which fires up the Camera intent via: Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE); startActivityForResult(intent, REQUEST_CAMERA); After the picture is taken I can easily grab the picture in: @Override protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) But I'd like to receive the result in Activity B in which the image can be edited. Right now I'm receiving the result in Activity A and pass it over to Activity B which results in showing the GUI of Activity A for a short while: Intent i = new Intent().setAction("DisplayJPEG"); i.setClass(this, EditImageActivity.class); i.putExtra("IMAGE_URI", uri); startActivityForResult(i, REQUEST_EDIT_IMAGE); Of course, I will need the result from Activity B in Activity A after the image has been edited. But that should work with: setResult(resultCode, data); So there has to be a way to do what I need. Please point me into the right direction. Thanks in advance, steff

  Hi people. I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to do this one. Here's the scenario. My e-commerce site has a blog with a lot of content, promoting the products I sell, reviewing them etc. 99% of the posts on the blog link back to the products they are talking about. I'm going to be changing the URL where my ecommerce system is located. Therefore my blog is going to end up sending people to a lot of 404 pages. The idea I've had is to be able inclue a JS file which will on load, scan the document for existing links then, if found, swap them out with ones which are now correct. I hope this make sense. • jQuery Cycle plugin: One pager to control multiple slideshow on a page

  Hi there, I have a cycle plugin set up on a page (images) with a pager to control the horizontal slide. My issue is that there is a transparent overlay that needs to sit over part of the images for some text relating to each image but would rather have that with a different transition effect for this so it doesn't slide in from the left. Am I able to set up to slideshows, each with 3 pieces of related content, that I can position correctly and have them controlled with the one pager? • Google App Engine - low-level datastore API flag?

  In my GAE-Java app, I'm using the low-level datastore API. Hence I don't need the GAE app instance to load any of the higher level data access libraries such as JPA, JDO, Data Nucleus, etc. Is there a flag that I can set to indicate that I don't want these libraries to be loaded? My motivation to do this is to reduce app instance startup time everywhere I can. Now I don't know if these libraries are loaded only on-demand or always. The dev environment logs messages related to data nucleus which seems to indicate that some of these libraries may be pre-loaded? I hope I'm wrong here. Thanks, Keyur

• Development team collaboration via Google Wave

  I hope I am not repeating any previously asked question. Anyway, so Google Wave is nice and shiny and sounds like a lot of folks(at least at Google I/O :) used it in a useful for work(!) way. I've been beta-testing Google Wave for sometime now, but can't quite grasp how to improve our workflow using it. We have a medium size team of developers that are spread out around US and Europe and naturally most of communication is happening via IM and Skype and email of course. So what are specific things that could be offloaded to Google Wave to improve collaboration by leaps and bounds(meaning not just replacing IM with nicer IM)?
