  Experience says that using WSDL-SOAP based webservice for internal consumption is an overkill. There are too many service-based POJO classes that when let into the system complicates it way too much. One option would be use adapter pattern, map the request/response objects to internal domain classes and . But is it even required? Is there a better approach? What are your suggestions?

  What is the best way to produce several tables of unknown size on the same worksheet? Values will be pulled from an oracle database and are used as values on several tables. Is it possible to create dynamic named ranges or is some other method desirable? I have some experience with c# but do not have access to VSTO 2005. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to explain the problem further if requested.

• Setting Rails Checkbox from Another Model

  I have a checkbox that belongs to "Foo" class. I have another "Preferences" class that sets the default for what that checkbox should be. I tried using f.check_box :email_preference, :value => preferences.email_preference but it doesn't work. I use this page to do new record creation as well as edit, so obviously for new records I would want to take the preferences.email_preference setting as a default, then for editing the record use the foo.email_preference. Any suggestions?

  Hello, I have just started learning Haskell and have got stumped on how to add a rating to a custom data type. The data type I'm using has a name, a year and a tuple (userName and their rating), it looks like: data Wine = Wine String Int [Rating] deriving (Eq,Ord,Show,Read) type Rating = (String, Int) I wanted to allow a user to rate a given wine from a database, stored as [Wine] but cant figure out how to to it.   Here's the question, I need to connect to a remote MySQL database from my C# Application, problem is the MySQL instance will block all access to all IP's apart from localhost, this can not be changed as its too much of a security issue.   Hello, I use code-generation for my data access layer and Doxygen for documentation. My problem is that I can't add Xml comments on the generated classes since they will be overwritten as soon as I re-generate the code. To be more precise I can add Xml comments to my custom methods (which are in a separate file as partial classes) but I can't do it on data properties. Any suggestions?

  I pulled a stupid and accidentally committed a folder named ${env.CATALINA_HOME} to my subversion repo. I tried doing an svn rm /path/to/${env.CATALINA_HOME} but it says "bad substitution" which I'm guessing means that it cant figure out why i'm using ${} notation in the path. I also tried surrounding the path in quotes, to no avail. Suggestions?

  i start up an existing solution, click on a javascript file, the file opens up in the IDE for a few seconds and then visual studio disappears. This is consistent and reproducible. • Remember the values entered on standalone app on the client side

  We have a standalone java swing app, in which the user can print something that he drew, on a printer by giving its IP. Now the requirement is that the app needs to remember the ip that was given the last time by this user. What I could think of till now is (a brute one though) - keep a log file kind of storage on the client machine, and that everytime the app comes up it reads the last submitted one. • OpenSSL Ignore Self-signed certificate error

  I'm writing a small program with the OpenSSL library that is suppose to establish a connection with an SSLv3 server. This server dispenses a self-signed certificate, which causes the handshake to fail with this message: "sslv3 alert handshake failure, self signed certificate in certificate chain." Is there a way I can force the connection to proceed? I've tried calling SSL_CTX_set_verify like so: SSL_CTX_set_verify(ctx, SSL_VERIFY_NONE, NULL); But it does not seem to change anything. Any suggestions?
