  • Where can I find a jQuery article rotator / carousel / slider?

    I want to make an article rotator similar to http://www.vmagazine.com/ And I want to use jQuery. I know there are carousels like jCarousel and jQuery Carousel. There is also the Coda-Slider, but I don't fint it very elegant. Can anyone suggest a good jQuery method / script for having an article carousel? I don't want to use MooTools, Prototype etc. since I'm already using jQuery. Any suggestions anyone?

  • Is there a way to flush html to the wire in Sinatra

    I have a Sinatra app with a long running process (a web scraper). I'd like the app flush the results of the crawler's progress as the crawler is running instead of at the end. I've considered forking the request and doing something fancy with ajax but this is a really basic one-pager app that really just needs to output a log to a browser as it's happening. Any suggestions?

    Is there a library that can be used for implementing undo/redo functionality for DOM element manipulations in JavaScript? I'm writing an app that moves around DOM elements, enables editing and deletion of those elements. There are event-handlers and other objects associated with each element operated upon. Not sure whether I need to roll my own implementation of the Command pattern for this. Surely, there must be something available? If not, suggestions and pointers would be a great help.

My requirements for the random number generator are not very onerous - its not important that it pass a great battery of statistical tests of pure randomness.   • Android Icon Duplicates in Application Dock

    For some odd reason, my project is generating two icons, same name, launches the same project, in the app drawer. I can't figure out what is causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions?     I am just wondering if you are supposed to write a sort of really secure application with data being transmitted over insecure networks, what kind of encryption algorithm will you use it in order to make it safe ? I know several c++ libraries for encryption providing nice functions with different algorithms, but i'm not quite sure which cipher to use - AES, DES, RSA, Blowfish or maybe something more different ?   • Getting scp's status bar to appear in a Java window

    I'm writing a program that uses scp to copy files in a bigger java program. As it stands now, the program freezes up while the scp is copying the file, which can take a few minutes, so I'd like to be able to display the progress of the scp or at the very least get the terminal window with the scp progress to show up!
