• How can I make 3ds files' size smaller??

  Hey all, Is there any way I can use to make the size of a 3ds file smaller?? I tried to change their length and width using 3dmax but the file size still the same?? I'm using the 3ds files in creating an OpenGl scene so I need to shrink their size as small as I can, any suggestions??

• Image classification: recognizing various features of many buildings from images

  so, let's say i have the long/lat or address of many buildings can get satellite images, "street view", and perhaps 3d/perspective views of buildings. want to find: height, number of floors, floor area (max building footprint) of the building. about 200k buildings. Is there a library for recognizing buildings from satellite shots or pictures? Kind of like face detection I suppose. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

• Is there a standard way to run a x509 key server?

  Does anyone know of a project / product that has standardized how to access/download x509/SSL certificates over HTTP? I have seen RFC 4387 but haven't found anyone who implements it. Basically, I am trying to setup a key server for an internal application. So short of implementing my own, does anyone have any suggestions?

• Is it possible to add an item to the copy paste menu in an iPhone application?

  I have several reference apps, and I'd like to be able to let my users "highlight" text. A reasonably good way to do this, to me, seems to be to modify the "copy/paste" contextual popup menu to add "highlight." If there's a way to do this, I'd like to know how. If there isn't a way, suggestions would be appreciated. My text is viewed in a UIHtmlView.

• How do I get jquery & mootools to play nice?

  I've been using Mootools 1.2.4 as my JS framework of choice. I've added Checkout by Amazon to one of my pages, and they inject jQuery 1.2.6 into the page and messes up my dollar function (among other things). I have control over Mootools, but not jQuery. I would rather not rewrite my existing code to accomodate jQuery since Checkout by Amazon was an afterthought and plug-in element. Any thoughts or suggestions are recommended. Thanks!

• Date type in oracle does not include time values

  I have a PHP application using an Oracle XE database. Whenever I add a date the hours minutes, and seconds seem to get left out. Is there some special format, or type I should use to be able to store this? I have tried using to_date, and specifying the format I am using.   In VB.net the ANDALSO and ORELSE keywords should basically always be prefered over the AND and OR keywords. What is the easiest way to disable the AND and OR keywords?   I have a 4MB log file from the Windows XP firewall which I'm trying to find lines that have both DROP and an IP and a port number. My regex-fu is weak and I'm assuming this is the reason I'm struggling. The words "DROP", "10.1.1.1" (for example) and "8801" need to be found on the same line and may be spread across the line and separated by one or more other words. Any help (or suggestions of another method to do this) are much appreciated.
