  I have to make a load test for a relatively large number of users so I cant realy use User Parameters pre-processor to parametrize each thread with custom user data. I've read that I should use CSV Data Set Config instead. However I run into a problem with how JMeter interprets the input of this Config. Example: I have a thread group of 3 threads and Loop Count:10 with one HTTP request sampler with server www.example.com and path: \${user}. The csv file (bullet is a single line in file) for CSV Data Set Config to extract the user parameter: 1 2 3 4 5 Expected output is that for thread 1-x the path of the request should be: \x. So the output file should consist of 10 samples per thread namely: for thread 1-1 : 10 requests to www.example.com\1 for thread 1-2 : 10 requests to www.example.com\2 for thread 1-3 : 10 requests to www.example.com\3 but instead i get requests to each \1 - \5 and then to EOF. Does anyone know how to achieve the expected effect with CSV Data Set Config in jmeter 2.9?

  for a lot of quick tasks where one could employ a function f(x,y), in plain C, macros are used. I would like to ask specifically about these cases, that are solvable by a function call (i.e. macros used for inlining functions, not for code expansion of arbitrary code). Typically C functions are not inlined since they might be linked to from other C files. However, static C functions are only visible from within the C file they are defined in. Therefore they can be inlined by compilers. I have heard that a lot of macros should be replaced by turning them into static functions, because this produces safer code. Are there cases where this is a not good idea? Again: Not asking about Code-Production macros with ## alike constructs that cannot at all be expressed as a function.

  I have widows 8 (Pre-installed), and I was not a fan. So I thought I would try Ubuntu as many people from what I hear that use it, like it, and hey, free OS. Well before I was able to do all the instalations, I had to goto work, so my girlfriend (whio is not at all tech savy) decided to help. She told me she installed it, (It popped up with a thank you for installing message) She then shut it off. When she turned it on, when I turn it on, I boot right to windows, I have never installed a secondary OS. And I was hoping someone with more experiance than I could walk me through what I need to do in order to be able to dual boot Ubuntu version is 14.04 and 64bit

  Hello, One time I faced an issue where my customer is having an HTTP 500 internal server error while trying to access any SharePoint site. The problem appeared once he moved back and forth with inheriting/breaking inheritance of permissions over different levels in the site collection. "Security corruption in database" sounds very tough for a customer running a production portal with a backup that can make him lose around 3 weeks of valuable data. However, the solution tends not to be that hard, there's an stsadm command that help us detect the corruption and even delete the orphaned items causing the corruption. Follow these steps: a. stsadm -o databaserepair -url http://SITEURL -databasename DBNAME                and it returned some orphaned items.            b. stsadm -o databaserepair -url http://SITEURL -databasename DBNAME -deletecorruption                and it removed the orphaned items.   I just bought a new Dell Inspiron pre-installed with Ubuntu 11.10. All was fine until I updated the OS. Since then, I have this flickering line at the top of my screen and it won't go after rebooting or changing the screen resolution. It gets really annoying. I don't know which update did this. I tried reinstalling the image from Dell, and it worked fine until I applied the updates. I tried to take a screen shot but it does not show. The line seems to be outside the desktop area. Help please... Thanks!

  According to a popular SO post is it considered a bad practice to prefix table names. At my company every column is prefixed by a table name. This is difficult for me to read. I'm not sure the reason, but this naming is actually the company standard. I can't stand the naming convention, but I have no documentation to back up my reasoning. All I know is that reading AdventureWorks is much simpler. In this our company DB you will see a table, Person and it might have column name: Person_First_Name or maybe even Person_Person_First_Name (don't ask me why you see person 2x) Why is it considered a bad practice to pre-fix column names? Are underscores considered evil in SQL as well? Note: I own Pro SQL Server 2008 - Relation Database design and implementation. References to that book are welcome.

  I got sick of the Bing Maps on WebOS not being able to find “coffee” when I’m in St. Paul.  Coffe Pk, TX anyone? – no thanks.  So I finally got around to installing PreWare on my Palm Pre 2.  The WebOS Quick Install doesn’t successfully download the novacom drivers.  You can find them here: http://downloads.help.palm.com/opensource/novacom/novacom-win-32.tgz http://downloads.help.palm.com/opensource/novacom/novacom-win-64-tgz Don’t bother trying the Novacom Universal Installer either. Then put phone in developer mode (by Typing webos20090606 and switch on developer mode), attach phone in “Just Charge” mode, run WebOS Quick Install, select the globe icon, and search for PreWare, install.

  I have a 11-year old son who wants to do game programming. I've started him on C++ (C++11) and he's learned iostreams, looping, functions, logic and flow control. I'm using the standard library and no memory management at all. But I would like to ask: What language would you suggest for a pre-teen (Python, ...)? What books would you suggest? We looked at one book that was just for console ASCII games. I liked the C++ that it taught but I think he'll get bored without some graphics at some point.

  I was wondering what web browsers exist for Ubuntu; I don't want to use wine. I just want the ones written for Ubuntu. I know about Firefox and Google Chrome, you don't need to add them as answers. I've never liked the Ubuntu software center because it never has all of the programs that I might want to install and therefore it's not perfect. I just want a list of all the browsers for Ubuntu and what's the point of them. Example: Firefox: open source, and is pre-installed. Please give me only one browser per answer or this will be confusing.

• Site returning 404 header to google, not sure why

  A Drupal site that works fine for regular users returns a 404 not found error when I try to use the W3C validator on it; it is also not being indexed by google at all (which is the main issue but I suspect there is a connection). It is a https:// site with .htaccess rule to redirect any http:// request to the https://. I had had it running in google webmaster tools and thought it was fine, but it turns out I had not added the https domain. After adding the https domain it's also returning the header as HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Date: Mon, 15 Oct 2012 19:37:43 GMT Server: Apache Expires: Sun, 19 Nov 1978 05:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Robots.txt just has User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10 # Files Disallow: /cron.php How can I check what the issue is here?

  I am using Bootable USB for installing Ubuntu with Windows 8.1. I have put pendrive and then booting my USB. When it shows me to try Ubuntu or install Ubuntu. Then I press Try ubuntu and then it says" "The system is running in low graphics mode". Then I press Ok. Then it shows 4 options. Then again I click Ok. Then it shows a black screen and nothing happens. I have tried all possible answers provided in AU. What should I do? Please help. I am using Windows 8.1 with dedicated graphic card (Video card - AMD Radeon HD 8670M). Installing 12.04 LTS with pre-installe Windows 8.1 in a Dell Laptop 3537 inspiron.

• Duplicate page content and the Google index

  I have a static pages with dynamically expanding content that google is indexing. I also have deep links into virtually duplicate pages which will pre-expand the relevant section of content into the relevant section. It seems like Google is ignoring all my specialized pages and not putting them in the index. Even after going through web-masters tools, crawling and submitting them to the index manually. I also use the google API for integrating search on the site, and the deep linked pages won't show up. Is there a good solution for this?

• After installing ubuntu, all my partitions are gone. Boot-repair log

  I have an HP Pavilion Sleekbook that came with windows 8 pre-installed. I had trouble dual booting after installing ubuntu, so I disabled safeboot on bios and proceeded to try boot-repair, nothing happened. No dual boot yet. So I tried to reinstall ubuntu, but without the manual partitioning. So I chose to erase ubuntu 13 and reinstall it. Instead it deleted all my HP recovery partitions and windows as well. Here is the log of boot-repair. http://paste.ubuntu.com/6354919/ Gparted and fdisk only show one partition: /dev/sda1 I am wondering if you could suggest any way of recovering my windows partition and have a working windows 8 again?   I just learnt a crash course from an institute for Core and Advanced Core Concepts in Java. I asked them what are all the algorithms, I need to know? They said: In Java there are more methods, you don't need to code more as in C/C++. After finishing core concepts in Java, I just passed on with more method usages from pre-defined classes in packages. So what's the next part I have to do, if the above mentioned is perfectly true (or) false based on the current expectations of IT Java programmers market? FYI: I'm fundamentally from the Electronics background, so please do excuse my ignorance.

  We are currently in a pre-production of developing a 2d game in Unity but with the arrival of Unity 4.3 around the corner we were contemplating waiting for the release 4.3 instead of starting on 4.2, mainly since 4.3 got native 2d support. Is this something to be worried about, or do we need to start over to take use of the advantages that 4.3 brings, or does it matter at all? What benefits does one get in Unity 4.3, considering developing a 2d game? and is it a lot of tweaking to rework if we start the project before 4.3 release?

• Synchronizing Mysql Table Schema [on hold]

  I have some difficulty keeping track of my SQL changes in a text file in SVN. One solution that I am aware of is to put the SQL queries in files (1.sql, 2.sql...) and to manually load each file at the proper time. Besides missing commas, the process is too cumbersome when builds become more frequent. I have actually taken to asking a co-worker to send me his SQL changes on Skype and we just apply the changes immediately on our local, development, and production servers (using three PhpMyAdmin tabs). I have seen several GUI tools mentioned in similar questions on SO, but these are actually more work and less automated than the aforementioned methods. Is there any standardized process by which this is done in an automated way? I can only guess that large companies build their own mechanisms of keeping track of database schema changes (yet I can't find a word about it - maybe they use files?). This question was closed as off-topic on Stack Overflow, so I am re-posting it here.

• What kind of math should I be expecting in advanced programming?

  And I don't mean just space shooters and such, because in non-3D environments it's obvious that not much beyond elementary math is needed to implement. Most of the programming in 2D games is mostly going to involve basic arithmetic, algorithms for enemy AI and dimensional worlds, rotation, and maybe some Algebra as well depending on how you want to design. But I ask because I'm not really gifted with math at all. I get frustrated and worn out just by doing Pre-Algebra, so Algebra 2 and Calculus would likely be futile for me. I guess I'm not so "right-brained" when it comes down to pure numbers and math formulas, but the bad part is that I'm no art-expert either. What do you people here suppose I should do? Go along avoiding as much of the extremely difficult maths I can't fathom, or try to ease into more complex math as I excel at programming?
