• iPhone Developer Program - Help?

  Hi, I just signed up for the iPhone Developer Program (the $99 one), I filled it all out, was directed to the store and completed the purchase. However, when I go to the member center it says I have not completed the purchase: Your Developer Program Enrollment Status: Once you've completed your purchase, you will receive an Order Acknowledgement email from the Apple Online Store and an Activation email within 24 hours from Apple Developer Support. The email from Apple Developer Support will contain information on how to access the resources of your Program. With a link directing me to a page that adds the program to my cart in the Apple store. (A process I have already been through with a success message at the end) Is this what has happened to everyone else? Aren't I supposed to receive an email from Apple at least confirming the purchase? I have received nothing. Thanks a lot.

• Fastest way to call a COM objects method without using a RCW

  I'm trying to find the cleanest and fastest way for calling a COM objects methods. I was using a RCW for the object but every time a new version of the third party COM object comes out its GUID changes which then renders the RCW useless, so I had to change and start using Type mytype = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("MyCOMApp.Application"); so that every time a new version of the COM object comes out I don't have to recomplie and redeploy my app. At the moment I am using refelection like mytype.InvokeMemeber but I feel it is so slow compared to just calling the RCW. How does everyone else tackle the problem of changing 3rd party COM object versions, but still maintaining the speed of a RCW?

• iPhone - Dismiss modal view by a UITabBarController

  Hi everyone, I've got into a very strange problem. I created my own UITabBarController to customize it and it works pretty well... except for the modal views. When I dismiss the modal view (present/dismiss from the UITabBarController) with an animation, it waits until the animation did finished and goes to the first controller of the tab bar! Why does the controller change? and how can I fix it? Thanks PS: My UITabBarController view is on the main window and has a UITabBar on it. The controllers (which are managed by the tab bar) are on the main window over the tab bar controller view with a shorter height. When I present the modal view, I bring the tab bar controller view to front.

• System.Net.Mail.MailMessage Raw Content / Spam Assassin

  Hey everyone, What I am trying to do is pass the raw content of an outgoing email to spamassassin in order to calculate a spam score. I am stuck in how I might get the raw content of the email. My C# code currently just constructs the MailMessage and passes it the SmtpClient's Send() method. Before sending, is there a way to get a raw version of the mail message (as the protocol might see it) so that I can pass this to the spamassassin tool for spam assessment? If I've not explained very well, let me know and I'll try to explain better. Thanks in advance, Martin.

• regex search a mysql text column

  Okay, I thought my head hurt with regular regex, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for with regexp in mysql. I'm trying to look for situations in news articles where a Textile-formatted url has not ended with a slash so: "Catherine Zeta-Jones":/cr/catherinezeta-jones/ visited stack overflow is ok but "Catherine Zeta-Jones":/cr/catherinezeta-jones visited stack overflow is not. [just used Catherine as an example because I'm assuming an alpha search wouldn't catch the hyphen] One of these days I'll have to do that goat sacrifice so I can gain the proper knowledge of regex.   Hi everyone, We're going through an ASP.Net MVC book and are having trouble with using an extenstion method within our view. The Extension method looks like this: using System; using System.Runtime.CompilerServices; using System.Web.Mvc; namespace MvcBookApplication { public static class HtmlHelperExtensions { public static string JQueryGenerator(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, string formName, object model); } } We use the extension method in our view like this: <%=Html.JQueryGenerator("createmessage", ViewData.Model)%> The problem is, that line of code says JQueryGenerator isn't a recognized method of HtmlHelper. I believe we've got the correct references set in the web project, but are there other things we can check? There's no using statement for views, is there?

My goal is to develop a simple CRUD (1 or 2 pages) but unit tested, for future use, as a code base. How does ListView.ItemCollection.Contains() identify if an item already exists? How do ListViewItems have to be initialised that ListView.ItemCollection.Contains() (not ListView.ItemCollection.ContainsKey()) is able to identify them?

• Saving a select count(*) value to an integer (SQL Server)

  Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble with this statement, owing no doubt to my ignorance of what is returned from this select statement: declare @myInt as INT set @myInt = (select COUNT(*) from myTable as count) if(@myInt <> 0) begin print 'there's something in the table' end There are records in myTable, but when I run the code above the print statement is never run. Further checks show that myInt is in fact zero after the assignment above. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I assumed that a select count would return a scalar that I could use above?

  Hello everyone, I heard on Windows x64 architecture, in order to support to run both x86 and x64 application, there is two separate/different sets of Windows registry -- one for x86 application to access and the other for x64 application to access? For example, if a COM registers CLSID in the x86 set of registry, then x64 application will never be able to access the COM component by CLSID, because x86/x64 have different sets of registry? So, my question is whether my understanding of the above sample is correct? I also want to get some more documents to learn this topic, about the two different sets of registry on x64 architecture.   Hello everyone!! Hope You all are fie and also in one of your best of moods!! I need your help to solve an issue with Facebook. I have integrate Facebook Connect with my iPhone app. So as per step i have to write path of src folder into 'Header path info' Field in Project Build. I have given the absolute path to 'Header path info' Field. and its run fine without any Error.. But, Now When i Move the project folder to another destination, its but obvious, that path of src folder will change… So Now after moving file, when i run an application, It gives path error. So is there any way to solve this path issue? this comes when i run an app in simulator, and i guess It also won't run in iPhone because of problem of path of src folder. • Configuring Team System Code Analysis via a FxCop rules file

  Is there anyway to configure the code analysis rules in Visual Studio Team System to match those in an FxCop configuration file and keep them in sync automatically? Not all the developers on the team have TS so keeping the rules we are currently running in an FxCop file is required so everyone can run the same set, but it would nice for those with to be able to run them in the IDE. We're introducing static analysis to an existing project so turning on everything now isn't a useful option. (We are not using Foundation Server for source control, if that makes any difference.)

For example. If I have a field in the create view called 'deliveraddress', how do I put that into the routes? I was wondering what the norm is for creating these settings. Say for example I would like one of the settings to be to change the name of the application name, or change a colour of the header.   Hello everyone, There is well known recommendation not to include into class interface method that returns a pointer (or a reference) to private data of the class. But what do you think about public method of a class that sends to another class a pointer to the private data of the first one. For example: class A { public: void fA(void) {_b.fB(&_var)}; private: B _b; int _var; }; I think that it is some sort of data hiding damage: the private data define state of their own class, so why should one class delegate changes of its own state to another one? • Using terminal vs KDE in linux?

  Hi Im used to using nautilus within centos but have recently just got a VPS and quickly realising that using a KDE is unacceptable in this environment. Although I do find it so much quicker doing things like folder permissions in KDE rather than typing it all out in the terminal? Everyone I speak to says, use the terminal and I should learn this way as opposed to using the KDE, but theres certain things I just dont get How is it possible to make quick changes to scripts and viewing them in a browser etc , without a mouse or using KDE? and only using a terminal?? I am wondering how to develop websites just using the terminal??? How can it be quicker to type out/view permissions etc in the terminal when its instant and just a few clicks in the KDE? Any thoughts are much appreciated. I would love to understand the benefits but just cant seem to see them right now. Cheers Ke.

  Hi everyone, In Linux. There is an srand() function, where you supply a seed and it will guarantee the same sequence of pseudorandom numbers in subsequent calls to the random() function afterwards. Lets say, I want to store this pseudo random sequence by remembering this seed value. Furthermore, let's say I want the 100 thousandth number in this pseudo random sequence later. One way, would be to supply the seed number using srand(), and then calling random() 100 thousand times, and remembering this number. Is there a better way of skipping all 99,999 other numbers in the pseudo random list and directly getting the 100 thousandth number in the list. thanks, m

• Are there any FreeRTOS interpreted language libraries available?

  I work for a company that created firmware for several device using FreeRTOS. Lately our request for new features has surpassed how much work our firmware engineers are capable of, but we can't afford to hire anyone new right now either. Making even tiny changes requires firmware people to go in and modify things at a very low level. I've been looking for some sort of interpreted language project for FreeRTOS that would let us implement new features at a higher level. Ideally I would like to get things eventually so the devices become closer to generic computers with us writing drivers, rather than us having to implement every feature ourselves. Are there any FreeRTOS projects that interpret java, python or similar bytecode? I've looked on google, but since I'm not a firmware engineer myself I'm not sure if I'm looking for the right keywords. Thanks everyone
