• ssl_error_rx_record_too_long and Apache SSL

  I've got a customer trying to access one of my sites, and they keep getting this error ssl_error_rx_record_too_long They're getting this error on all browsers, all platforms. I can't reproduce the problem at all. My server and myself are located in the USA, the customer is located in India. I googled on the problem, and the main source seems to be that the SSL port is speaking in HTTP. I checked my server, and this is not happening. I tried the solution mentioned here, but the customer has stated it did not fix the issue. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this, or how I can reproduce this??? PS: If you can reproduce the problem with the following URL please let me know! THE SOLUTION Turns out the customer had a misconfigured local proxy! Hope that helps anyone finding this question trying to debug it in the future.

• Sitecore - Rich Text Editor field is not saving information but instead just copying old information

  We are using Sitecore.NET 5.3.1 (rev. 071114) and we found out a problem. When we are trying to change information in a Rich Text Editor field on the Master database and save the information, this information is not stored and instead the old information appears back into the RTE field. I have been trying this on the Web database on which this is not happening. However, changing this information on the web database feels useless because a publish will just change every information that does not correspond to the data in the Master database in which i just can't edit this field. So I'm having big trouble at this point since this is for one of our bigger customers and they really want this fixxed asap. We (Estate Internet) already have had an open ticket for this problem, but never got the solution. Hope that someone here knows what the problem may be.

• Why does Joomla debug show 446 queries logged and 446 legacy queries logged?

  I have been called in to fix the performance of a Joomla site that was already setup. I look at the debug output and it shows the same queries twice, once for queries logged and again for legacy queries logged. My guess is that it is actually running the same queries twice make for just under 900 queries per page (hope I am wrong) The Legacy plugin is disabled, so Legacy mode is not on at all. The site uses VirtueMart as well (which BTW isn't working properly if the cache in the Global Config is turned on) Besides the fact that I don't think it should be running 446 queries anyway (sometimes even up to 650 per page ), has anyone every experienced this issue, and where would I look to fix this. • jeditable in an ASP.NET web form

  Can someone explain to me how you would use jeditable with an ASP.NET web form (and C# codebehind). I've got a bit of experience with web forms but not very complicated stuff, and haven't used much jquery before, and this is just puzzling me. I understand how to put it in and attach it to the element you want to be editable, it's what jeditable does when you submit the text field that I don't get. How do you handle that in the webform in order to save the changed text? Hope someone understands my issue... Cheers!

• Text formatting within textarea

  Variations on my problem have been discussed elsewhere, so I hope I'm not duplicating! I'm implementing a simple Private Messaging System as part of a web app. I've got an annoying problem though when dynamically inserting text into a textarea box in order to make a reply. Getting the content and displaying it is fine, but I can't work out how to format it correctly. Obviously, I can't use html tags, but plain text formatting like line breaks and carriage returns seem to be ignored too. This happens when an existing message is being displayed either as part of a reply or as a thread in a new message. How do I check what formatting is being saved in my db? Or indeed what formatting is being sent back from my db?!

• Git - tidying up a repo

  Hi I have got my repo into a bit of a state and want to be able to work my way out of it The repo looks a bit like this (A1, B1, C1 etc are obviously commits) A1 ---- A2 ---- A3 ---- A4 ---- A5 ---- A6 ---- A7 ---- A8 / (from a remote repo) B1 ---- B2 --------------------------------- | \ \ C1 ---------------------------------C2 \ / D1 --- D2 --- D3 --- D4 --- D5 --- D6 Ideally I'd like to be able to remove all the revisions (with rebase?) on the B, C and D lines (I'm loathed to say branches simply because there are now no local branches on these lines except ref branches to the remote repo) and try to merge in the remote repo again, perhaps in a better way. I'd be grateful of any suggestions as to how to get rid of all these commits. Could I ask that any answers use revision SHA1s rather than branch names. I thought that somehow I'd be able to revert the merge into A7 but can't quite work out how to do it I hope that is sufficient information. Many thx Simon

• UITableView resizing rows problem

  Hi All, Hope to get solution to this problem. I have been stuck on it since a long time now. I have a a tableView which has custom labels drawn upon the cell using CGRect. I receive the data from a web service in arrays. Initially i display a line of data on the cells. When the user selects a cell, I call reloadsRowAtIndexPath to increase the height of selected row. In the process, cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again. I keep track of this by a flag, and when cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again, I display the two more lines of data from arrays, on the cell. What i am getting is all overlapping data on one other. I tried to remove already placed labels in didSelectRowAtIndexPath, but to no avail. Please help me on this Thanks in advance.

  I can't seem to find a solution for this problem :s I have a many to many relationship like this: A user has_many organizations through affiliations and vice versa. I'm using declarative organizations and I only want a user to edit a particular organization if he is affiliated and the affiliationtype attribute of affiliation is a particular value. So affiliations has 3 columns , user_id, organization_id and affiliationtype_id I can do: o = Organization.find(:first) o.affiliatons[0].user and get the user now I wish to do this: has_permission_on [:organizations], :to => :edit do if_attribute (...) end That if_attribute should see if the current user is the organization.affiliation[?].user and if the organization.affiliation[?].affiliationtype_id = "3" I hope this is syntax issue ...   Ok, so I would like to make a GLR parser generator. I know there exist such programs better than what I will probably make, but I am doing this for fun/learning so that's not important. I have been reading about GLR parsing and I think I have a decent high level understanding of it now. But now it's time to get down to business. The graph-structured stack (GSS) is the key data structure for use in GLR parsers. Conceptually I know how GSS works, but none of the sources I looked at so far explain how to implement GSS. I don't even have an authoritative list of operations to support. Can someone point me to some good sample code/tutorial for GSS? Google didn't help so far. I hope this question is not too vague.

  I was reading this question and realized it might be helpful for entry- and pro-level developers alike (including myself) to have a common reference for best practices in using gdb. Many questions asked on Stack Overflow could easily be solved by taking some time to step some code in a debugger, and it would be good to have a community-approved resource to "teach them how to fish", so to speak. Even for those seasoned veterans who occasionally find themselves in gdb when they are accustomed to a GUI-tastic debugger might benefit from those who are much more familiar with the command line tool. For starters (both to gdb and to prime this thread) I submit: Ninefinger's gdb primer The gdb quick reference guide, which is useful for telling you what commands are available but not how best to use them. My hope is this thread is a seed planted that is of continued value to the community. If by "continued value" the community decides to nix it altogether, well then the masses have spoken.

• What's the best value for money c# code protection for a single developer

  What's the best value for money c# code protection? Some just use obfuscation, others add win32 wrapping, some cost a fortune. So far I've come up with http://www.eziriz.com/ who's Intellilock looks promising. Any other suggestions? Any reasons why this is not a good idea? I know its impossible to completely protect but I'd prefer the ability to protect my code so that it would require a lot of effort in order to recover it. I do hope to sell my products eventually, while also releasing some for free.

  I have set myself upon a journey to educate my coworkers (all have accepted my mission, even the boss). Every day I seem to find a piece of code that could have been less error prone if my coworkers knew more about the framework, better-know-framework (in courtesy of DNR ;)) is part two of my teaching process. First part is teaching my coworkers about LINQ, what it can do for them and how it is written. My big question is where are all the good basic resources for LINQ education, everything if find is tightly coupled to Linq2Sql or all other sorts of material. Neither have I been able to find a tutorial for the actual linq syntax (except a specification of it all). (I hope this haven't been asked before but if it has please say so, cause then my searching skills have failed ;) )

  Hi, I hope this question isn't tagged as too generic. But this is an honest concern/curiosity I have. Are you people still supporting Internet Explorer 6? Web developers sometimes use the concept of softly degrading their projects in older browsers. When I say "older", I mean mainly Internet Explorer 6. When you softly degrade you still have to waste tons of time tryng to fit things in IE6. This is time consuming and the client usually won`t even mind asking or checking how things look in IE6. So what are you doing when your website is completely broken in IE6? Do you bother to completely fix it and eat up your time or do you simply ignore it (leave broken boxes, opaque PNG files etc.)?

  Hi, I am using paypal standard as my payment gateway. My problem is that, in Paypal Standard payment method, I have done my code as below: When user click on return to merchant button from paypal then user return to the site with order data , and on that page my order entry will be inserted in my DB. So my problem occur when someone pays but don't click on return to merchant link. So in this case customer gets paid, but due to no entry my DB its not working proper. Hope I am clear to all. • UIButton: Need a circle hit area

  Ok I have 6 custom UIButtons. Their normal state image are all circles images. They are all spaced out equally but all the circles touch each other. The problem with the custom UIbutton (which has a circle image on it), is that the hit area of that button is square, and the corners of this square overlaps the hitarea of the other custom button's hitarea. How do i make the hit area of a UIbutton whos normal state has a circle image, be only clickable on that circle only, rather than the normal square hit area?!   I have an button just as have Ask Question on SO and here is the CSS for it: .rfs .grey_btn{ float: right; margin: 15px 5px; } Now I have to add border shadow to it and I have tried border-radius and box-shadow but it does not give me proper result. Also other question is that I have a label or box say and now I want to increase size of that box so that I have move the text inside that box to right, currently if I move it to right than it reaches the end limit of box and so I want to increase the size of box so that I can push text more towards right. • Flash AS3 Chrome Mailto link issues

  Hi I have a problem with flash in Chrome. I have a couple of mailto: links in my flash web page, when clicking on them in chrome they either don't do anything at all, opens up a blank page/tab and no email client or opens an email client once (have to refresh the page in order to click it again). Does anyone know the best way in which to do a chrome supported mailto? Seems to work in all other browsers. I have changed the target to _blank, _parent, _self etc. Plus I have one link actually on the stage and another running through AS. Hope that makes sense, cheers.

  I'm building a web semantic project that gathers the maximum ammount of historic data about a certain company and tries to predict its future market stock values. For data I have the historic stock values (not normalized), news (0 to 1 polarity) and subjective content (also a 0 to 1 polarity). What is the best AI system to train and use for this kind of objective? Is a simple NN with back-propagation training the best I can hope for? update: Everyone is concerned about the quality of this system. Although I'm pretty sure the system is as good as a random prediction (or even worse), this is a school project around artificial intelligence and web semantics. Therefore I'm only concerned in picking the best kind of train method for the data I have (NN, RBF, SVM, Bayes, neuro-fuzzy, etc). Its not about making money.

  Hi, Can anyone advise if its possible to pass data via JQUERY to an ASP.NET MVC controller action and have a view rendered in new browser tab based on the model data passed to the action method. My scenario is that I have a Jqgrid populated with product info on a page. The user would tick the items in the grid that they would like a label produced for. After they've made their slection they would click a button and I would like (if possible) to render a view of that contains a label for each selected item and have the view render in a new browser tab. All the code to allow the selections and post the relevant data back to the action method is all working fine and I know its easy to use the Jquery $(selector).load() command to populate an element on the current page with the HTML returned from the action. But is it possible to populate an element on a page in a new browser tab. If it is how would I go about it? Hope this make sense.

• What's the right way to calculate derived data in a Flex AdvancedDataGrid using summaries?

  Here's the gist of the problem: I have a set of rows of data with (say) field1 to field4 in them. I'm using a GroupingCollection to group on field1 and field2. So, I have something like this: f1.1 f2.1 f3.1 f4.1 f3.2 f4.2 f2.2 f3.3 f4.3 f3.4 f4.4 f3.5 f4.5 f1.2 f2.1 f3.6 f4.6 f2.2 f3.7 f4.7 f3.8 f4.8 f3.9 f4.9 (or at least, I hope that's clear enough) I need to calculate some derived values for each leaf row, for example f3, that is the ratio of f3 to the average of all f3 in that particular part of the tree. So, for f3.7 I need to calculate f3.7 / avg(f3.7..f3.9) and fill that into the f3_index property on the row, displaying that in lieu of f3 itself. So, basically, what it looks like I have to do is add source field values in the summarizeFunction implementation. It seems to me that there must be a better way of doing this. Is there?

  I have noted that when the iPhone OS receives a push notification, it considers that a user action to click on the action button as a "response" to the push notification for some indefinite period of time. If the user lets the push notification sit on screen for a number of seconds, or lets the phone go to sleep, the phone no longer considers the users action as a response to the push notification itself, and therefore does not launch the corresponding app. So my question is... does anyone know what the precise definition from the iPhone OS is as to how long the phone considers a push notification response to be corresponding to the push? Sorry, I can't find a great way to phrase this question, but I hope it makes sense. I'm guessing its something like 20 seconds from my testing, but I don't see this specifically documented anywhere.

• Stop multiple sessions accessing the same file simultaneously

  Is it possible to lock a file to stop it being opened while GD library is accessing it? What I am looking to achieve is similar to a database 'serialzable' level of isolation... I want to ensure that only one session/user can access an image at a time to stop a 'dirty read'. May application allows users to add an image of choice to a bigger image. for example the big image is empty Raj & Janet upload their images Raj's session opens the big image. 1 ms later Janet's session opens the big image. Raj's session add's his image and saves the big image 1 ms later Janet's session adds his image and saves its version of the big image. As a result Raj's image is not in the final image as Janet's version overwrote it. I hope that makes it clear enough.
