  Hi, We are currently looking for a jquery developer, experienced specifically with flowplayer, to integrate a video player into our web application prototype. The player interface is being built in html and has to be wired to the flash player using the flowplayer jquery library. We also hope to be able to overlay some html elements on top of the video. • jQuery, drop image on overlaping target

  I am using jQuery to detect drop on target, the target in question is a image. If i drag one image upon another, and then drop it, it shall replace the target source with the dropped source. This works fine until two images lies upon each other. Some of the images lies next to each other and some times the target images overlap. if i drop, both the visible image and the image beneath is replaced with the dragged image. I hope the problem is clear and their is any good solution

  I currently have code with an enum where one value is set and the rest are left to be set by the compiler using the previous value +1, or so I hope. Is this functionality within an enumerated type compiler dependant, an example is below to clarify. enum FUNC_ERROR_CODE { FUNC_SUCCESS, FUNC_ERROR_1 = 24, FUNC_ERROR_2, FUNC_ERROR_3 } Is it safe to assume that FUNC_ERROR_2 will have the value 25 and FUNC_ERROR_3 will have the value 26, regardless of compliler used. I'm coding this so as a function can return an integer value, 0 is always success and any other value can signify failure.

• meta refresh for redirection not working in BlackBerry

  Hi.. I asked this question here but don't get reply so far. I hope posting it too here is ok. For page redirection, in a mobile site development, I am using <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=/pagetwo.jsp"/> because it is required to work when Javascript is off. However, I find it working only in BlackBerry (BB) simulator, not in real BB (I tried with BB 8250 and 9700). Could anyone help me please, what could be the reason. Thanks.

• iPhone: UIImageView not showing images

  Hello, I've got UIImageView drawn in my nib-file and it's connected to a imageView iboutlet. I can load single pictures which will show up very nicely, but when it comes to drawing many images separately as like an animation, images won't show. I've got drawImage() function which takes NSData-objects(image data) and draws it to a screen(imageView). Main function has got for loop which loops 300 times as quickly as it can and each time it calls that drawImage function and passes different image data to it. Sometimes when I execute this code, last picture from that "animation" shows up, sometimes not at all. Maybe I need to schedule enough time for imageView so that the image can be shown? Hope someone has some clues. Thanks in advance!

• Can someone recommend a resource/site/book to improve problem solving skills

  I am a reasonably experienced developer (.NET, c#, asp.NET etc) but I'd like to hone my problem solving skills. I find that when I come up against a complex problem I sometimes implement a solution that I feel could have been better had I analyzed the problem in a different way. Ideally what I am looking for is a resource of some type that has 'practice problems and solutions' as I think my skills will only get better by practicing this more and adopting better practices. I hope my question is not to vague and I wont get upset with people answering with opinions etc.. thanks

• How can I store all the properties of a class in an array of objects?

  Hello, Let's say I've a class myClass which has few properties, such as property1, property2, perperty3, etc. Now, I'd like to populate an array with each of those properties so that, I can access each of them through its index. Is there an automatic way of doing so? Here's an example from SportsStore (Pro ASPN.NET MVC/Steve Sanderson/Apress) on how to gather all the active controllers in the the 'Assembly'. var controllerTypes = from t in Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetTypes() where typeof(IController).IsAssignableFrom(t) select t; foreach(Type t in controllerTypes) //Do something I wonder if there is some thing like the one above I can use to collect (only) properties of a class and store them in a array, no matter each one's type value (int, string, or custom type) I hope I was able to express myself clearly. • Adding HTML to the DOM through the client.

  Hi all Just wanted your views on the most efficient way to render content on demand, the reason this has come to light is that I'm maintaining a AA compliant website and we recently added video to it, and one of the techniques to avoid invalidation was to add the HTML for the video to the DOM after the page has loaded - which is fine and working ok. However, I found 2 possible techniques and I would appreciate some views, the one I'm currently using is an AJAX call that returns the HTML, the other technique is a hidden field that contains the HTML - I'm presently using the former. The main reason I'm asking the question is because there may be times when this particular control is also requested via an AJAX call, so I would end up with back-to-back AJAX calls, which seems a bit inefficient to me. I hope this makes sense, are there any better techniques to achieve this? Am I worrying too much over the consecutive AJAX calls? Thanks

We have been able to access the progress event with plain js as seen below but when trying to access this with jQuery we get undefined in console. • Virtual StringTree's hint windows are left out on the screen

  Hi, See this screenshot, in the middle it's the small hint windows that are generated by a TVirtualStringTree control and were left out on the screen, these hint windows will remain there until the application exits. the problem happens when the treeview's hint is shown and the mouse leaves quickly to the window next to it. Any idea about how to avoid this or how to clear those un-erased hint windows if it's difficult to avid this? Few days ago I asked a similar question, while the hint windows in the screenshots look the same, the are not the same problem. That problem, the hint text never shows and only that kind of uncompleted hint windows are shown; This problem, the hint text shows but the hint windows are not completely erased in a case (as I described above).   The main concept goes like this. I have four listviews with its own data loaded at the same time. Only one listview will be visible to the user. Now, when the user presses a button, not only the current listview but also other three listviews should be minimized and then user can just scroll just as in Gallery and select the listview that one wants to open.   Hi everyone: I just begin to study ARM assembly language, and am not clear about how to use MOV to transfer an immediate number into a register. From both the ARM reference manual and my textbook, it's said that range of immediate number following MOV instruction is 0-255. But when I test on my own PC in ADS 1.2 IDE, instruction MOV R2, #0xFFFFFFFF performs well. Isn't number 0xFFFFFFFF out of range according to the specification? Hope someone can give me a hand. • Kohana 3 and CRON always accessing index.php (not following the URI argument)

  OK, I hope this is my last question about CRON jobs and Kohana 3. Note: others are not duplicates, just other problems. Here is my CRON job (setup in cPanel) php /home/user/public_html/index.php --uri=properties/update As per this answer. I have set it up so it emails me the output. It is running every 5 mins. Unfortunately, it always emails me the source of the home page of my site (index.php or /). I can access that URL fine in my browser, i.e. http://www.example.com/properties/update and it works and does it's job correctly. I can tell the Cron is never hitting the script because I have a file logger in place. Would this have anything to do with .htaccess? Has this happened to anyone before, and how did they fix it?   I'm writing a database of all DVDs I have at home. One of the fields, actors, I would like it to be a set of values from an other table, which is storing actors. So for every film I want to store a list of actors, all of which selected from a list of actors, taken from a different table. Is it possible? How do I do this? It would be a set of foreign keys basically. I'm using a MySQL database for a Django application (python), so any hint in SQL or Python would be much appreciated.   Is there a way to animate enabling or disabling a button? I've tried the following with no success. I'm guessing at this point that the enabled property cannot be animated like opacity can – but I hope I'm wrong. • Is there a DOS command for verifying what version of .NET is installed

  I have set of scripts for doing scripted installs. You can use the scripts on any server 2008 machine. However, I need to check if .NET 3.5 has been installed (before the scripts run) using a dos batch file. Is that possible? I know I can check if a file in the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5 exists, but it would be nice to have something a little more reliable. I would like to check if it's actually installed, not just if the dir/file exists. Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

I read/heard about web farms, integration between different systems, load balancing ... etc. Therefore, I was wondering if there are ways for the individual developer to create an environment that simulates real world situations with minimal number of machines like: web farms & caching simulating many users accessing your website (Pressure tests?) Performance load balancing anything you think I should consider. By the way, I have a server machine and 1 PC. and I don't mind investing in tools and software. PS.   Hi all, I've installed HTTP Activation and Non-HTTP Activation IIS's features for Framework.NET 3.0 under WCF Activation feature. I'm trying to remove http and https bindings (under default Web Site) from IIS Manager and leave others (net.tcp, net.msmq, etc.) but if I close and re-open IIS manager I not found any icons in the right panel (Feature View). The only feature I see is IIS Manager Permissions. It's right I don't see them? I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance!

  Hi, i am implementing a little Black Jack game in C# and i have the following problem calculating the player's hand value. the problem is Ace may have value of 1 or 11 so if the players has three cards and one Ace if the sum of the cards is <= 10 Ace will have value of 11(Sorry for who doesn't know the scope of the game is to reach 21 with the sum of the cards) Other way value of 1 Up to here is easy Now lets assume i do not know how many Aces the player has got and the game is implemented giving the possibility to the dealer to use more than one deck of cards. the user may have in one hand even 5,6,7,8 ... aces. What is the best way(possibly using Linq) to evaluate all the aces the player has got to get the closest combination to 21 (in addition tot he other cards)? • PHP + GD: imagetruecolortopalette not keeping transparency

  I am using GD to output an image that is a truecolor+alpha channel PNG file using imagepng just fine. However, I would like to have the ability to also output an ie6-compatible 256-color PNG as well. According to the official documentation for imagetruecolortopalette: The code has been modified to preserve as much alpha channel information as possible in the resulting palette, in addition to preserving colors as well as possible. However, I am finding that the results of this function do not properly preserve any transparency at all. I used this firefox image with text superimposed on top of it as a test, and all the function did was give me a white background and a weird dark blue border. I know that I can't hope to preserve the full alpha channel, but surely this function would at least pick up on the transparent background. Is there something I'm missing? Are there any alternative approaches that I can take?
