• Trying to understand the Zend_Auth OpenId

  I'm using a slightly modified version of the Zend_Auth_OpenId classes to get openid logins from google apps. The results are very positive, as I seem to be getting successful results from Google. I cannot get successful results passed to Zend_Auth, though. For example, Zend_Auth_Adapter_OpenId on line 241: if (!$consumer->login($id, $this->_returnTo, $this->_root, $this->_extensions, $this->_response)) { return new Zend_Auth_Result( Zend_Auth_Result::FAILURE, $id, array("Authentication failed", $consumer->getError())); } The consumer calls login() which in turn calls the private method _checkId() in Zend_OpenId_Consumer. _checkId() always ends in redirecting to the openid server. How is this ever supposed to return a valid Zend_Auth_Result object? I'm pretty close to giving up and trying to implement another OpenId library, but I'm so close to just making this work. I must be missing something so obvious! Maybe I don't understand how openid works exactly, but if someone could help me understand I would really appreciate it.

• Validating an e-mail field based on a specific domain

  I have a site that will require a login by the users. The client will only only users from their company's domain to gain access. I need to validate the field based on an e-mail domain address. ie. only allow email addresses from @mycompany.com to go through. Can this be done with the jquery.validate plugin? I see where you can check to see if it's a valid e-mail, but I'd like to make sure it matches a specific pattern (@mycompany.com). Any help would be appreciated!

• How to pass parameters with spaces via cstdlib system

  Hi, I have this windows console app which takes a file, do some calculations, and then writes the output to a specified file. The input is specified in "app.exe -input fullfilename" format. I need to call this application from my C++ program, but I have a problem with spaces in paths to files. When I call the app directly from cmd.exe by typing (without specifying output file for clarity) "c:\first path\app.exe" -input "c:\second path\input.file" everything works as expected. But, when I try using cstdlib std::system() function, i.e. std::system(" \"c:\\first path\\app.exe\" -input \"c:\\second path\\input.file\" "); the console prints out that c:\first is not any valid command. It's probably common mistake and has simple solution, but I have been unable to find any. Thx for any help.

• asp.net regular expression not working as expected

  Hi, I have a textbox and a regular expression validator applied to it. I want to make sure that the only allowed string inputted into the textbox are "Anything Entered" or "Something Else" or "Another String" otherwise I want an error to be displayed. This is the regular expression I have so far: ValidationExpression="(^Anything Entered)$|(^Something Else)$ |(^Another String)$" However when I enter the supposed valid strings the error is displayed. I cant figure out whats wrong with the expression. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zaps

  I've been asking a few questions about strictness, but I think I've missed the mark before. Hopefully this is more precise. Lets say we have: n = 1000000 f z = foldl' (\(x1, x2) y -> (x1 + y, y - x2)) z [1..n] Without changing f, what should I set z = ... So that f z does not overflow the stack? (i.e. runs in constant space regardless of the size of n) Its okay if the answer requires GHC extensions. My first thought is to define: g (a1, a2) = (!a1, !a2) and then z = g (0, 0) But I don't think g is valid Haskell.

  Hi all, I'm implementing a web service on the xfire plugin. I was wondering how I'm supposed to handle the errors. I tried with this setup but the error is not returned to the SOAP client: GaSession[] myMethod( String userId ) throws MyException{ GaUser user = GaUser.findByUserId( userId ) if (!user) throw new MyException("user ${userId} does not exist") // do stuff and return valid results } Is there a standard way to handle errors and return them to the client in a clear way? My log is full of messages like: 2010-06-13 18:20:40,926 [Thread-289] DEBUG aegis.XMLClassMetaInfoManager - Mapping file : /com/mycompany/MyClass.aegis.xml not found. Is there a way to fix this? • What is corresponding Cron expression to fire in every X seconds, where X > 60?

  I want my jobs to execute in every X seconds, there's one to one matching between job and X. Also during runtime there can be registered new jobs with their own intervals. I've tried to write cron expression for such scenarios, but in documentation there's written that value of seconds can't be more than 69. So cron expression like this: "0/63 * * * * ?" isn't valid. At first sight solution of that problem seemed to be expression like this: "0/3 0/1 * * * ?", but it means completely different thing: trigger job in every three second of every minute. Can you suggest what is the right solution (cron expression) for that? I know I could use just simple timers, but I've to use cron jobs using Quartz.

• an array of strings as a jQuery selector?

  I have an array of strings that are valid jQuery selectors (i.e. IDs of elements on the page): ["#p1", "#p2", "#p3", "#p4", "#p5"] I want to select elements with those IDs into a jQuery array. This is probably elementary, but I can't find anything online. I could have a for-loop which creates a string "#p1,#p2,#p3,#p4,#p5" which could then be passed to jQuery as a single selector, but isn't there another way? Isn't there a way to pass an array of strings as a selector? EDIT: Actually, there is an answer out there already.

  Hi, I need to implement a HtmlHelper extension in my MVC project simply just to output some string but ONLY in the DEBUG mode, not in REALEASE. My first attempt would be: [Conditional("DEBUG")] public static string TestStringForDebugOnly(this HtmlHelper helper, string testString) { return testString; } But obviously that would give a compile error: "The Conditional attribute is not valid because its return type is not void." So my understanding is once you set [Condition] attribute, it doesnt allow to return anything? why? What is other way to implement this kind of function? anyone help would be much appreciated.   hi, how can I assign a column name to the SUM column ? i.e. select OwnerUserId, SUM(PostScore) INTO Experts from ... I get this error: An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name. I guess because the column containing the results of SUM has not name. thanks

  Now I am trying to add a front end check on my app to detect if user input only number in the textfield. I found that some patterns cause handler to fall into loop. for example searching \b\b in a text, never will terminate. and number of these expressions is infinite (\b\b\b,\b\b\b\b and so on). I'd like to determine and control all invalid expressions. Is there an algorithm to distinguish valid and invalid expressions? If not, how can I prevent my program from falling into an infinite loop?

  My application checks a number of domains to see if they are valid (approx 100). I have the following code to check a single domain: def self.test_url uri, limit = 10 if limit == 0 return get_error_messages("001") end begin url = URI.parse(uri) response = Net::HTTP.start(url.host, url.port).request_head('/') rescue SocketError => e return get_error_messages("002") end case response when Net::HTTPRedirection then test_url(response['location'], limit - 1) else return get_error_messages(response.code) end end The code checks for the response code while taking into account redirects. This works fine. The only problem I have is when I put this in a loop I want it to run in parallel. So I don't have to wait for domain 1 to respond before I can request domain 2. I have managed this in PHP using curl_multi to run the requests in parallel. Is there a similar thing I can do in Rails?

• user buffer after doing 'write' to file opened with O_DIRECT

  I'm using the O_DIRECT flag to write to the disk directly from the user buffer. But as far as I understand, Linux doesn't guarantee that after this call, the data is written. It just writes directly from the user buffer to the physical device using DMA or anything else... Therefore, I don't understand if I can write to the user buffer after the call to 'write' function. I'm sure that example code will help to understand my question: char *user_buff = malloc(...); /* assume it is aligned as needed */ fd = open(..., O_DIRECT); write(fd, ...) memset(user_buff, 0, ...) Is the last line (memset) legal? Is writing to the user buffer valid that is maybe used by DMA to transfer data to the device?

  hi i got some problem i got this 3 line statement: Dim infoID As Integer = objCommand1.ExecuteScalar() Dim strSQL2 As String = "insert into feedBackHotel (infoID, feedBackView) values(" + infoID + ",'" + FeedBack + "')" Dim objCommand2 As New SqlCommand(strSQL2, conn) objCommand2.ExecuteNonQuery() the problem here is..the strSQL2 can capture the infoID from previous statement, but it didnt insert into the database. it will pop out this error "Conversion from string "insert into feedBackHotel (infoI" to type 'Double' is not valid." in both table related, use same data type (int) but for the feedBackHotel's infoID i allow it to be null..bcoz if i make it not null, it will show another error.. im using vb.net ..can anyone help?

• Issues with Sinatra and Heroku

  So I've created and published a Sinatra app to Heroku without any issues. I've even tested it locally with rackup to make sure it functions fine. There are a series of API calls to various places after a zip code is consumed from the URL, but Heroku just wants to tell me there is an server error. I've added an error page that tries to give me more description, however, it tells me it can't perform a `count' for #, which I assume means hash. • For securing forms, when do I issue the token?

  So, I have a form, to make it a little more secure and potentially help prevent CSRF attacks I want to add a random token value in a hidden field that value is also stored server side in my session data. When should I issue a new token? Per form? Per page load where there is any form? Per session? I can render it invalid as soon as a form is successfully submitted but I'm wondering when to generate one. I ask as if I issue it per form or per page do I not risk the chance of a duplicate token value overwriting the existing (valid) token if a user opens a separate window but submitting the first form (with the now overwritten value)?

  Hi, I try to localize error messages from the Domain classes. This is possible with the default error messages, e.g.: default.blank.message=Property [{0}] cannot be blank and localized attribute names, e.g.: customer.address.label=Customer address Where "Customer" is my domain class and address is its attribute. My problem is that I can't localize some attributes because I need specific error messages. E.g: has.to.be.a.number=Property [{0}] has to be a number contingent.size.label=Contingent size. But the message I get is "Property [size] has to be a number" instead of "Property [Contingent size] has to be a number". The messages I cant localize are following: - Property [{0}] has to be a number - Property [{0}] has to be a valid date // I can't use g:datePicker in this context
