  • SecurityException in Sandboxed AppDomain

    - by Galen
    I'm attempting to use C# as a scripting language using CSharpCodeProvider (using VS2010 and .NET 4.0). I want the scripts to be run in a restricted AppDomain with minimal permissions. Currently, I'm getting an exception while trying to instantiate a class in the AppDomain (The call to CreateInstanceAndUnwrap()). Here is some simplified code that reproduces the exception: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using Microsoft.CSharp; using System.CodeDom; using System.CodeDom.Compiler; using System.Security; using System.Security.Policy; using System.Security.Permissions; using System.Reflection; using System.Runtime.Remoting; namespace ConsoleApp { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { // set permissions PermissionSet permissions = new PermissionSet(PermissionState.None); permissions.AddPermission(new SecurityPermission( SecurityPermissionFlag.Execution)); AppDomainSetup adSetup = new AppDomainSetup(); adSetup.ApplicationBase = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory; //Create a list of fully trusted assemblies Assembly[] asms = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies(); List<StrongName> sns = new List<StrongName>(); for (int x = 0; x < asms.Length; x++) { StrongName sn = asms[x].Evidence.GetHostEvidence<StrongName>(); if (sn != null && sns.Contains(sn) == false) sns.Add(sn); } //this includes: "mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" AppDomain domain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("NewAppDomain", AppDomain.CurrentDomain.Evidence, adSetup, permissions);//, sns);//, sn4, sn, sn2, sn3); try { String asmName = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().FullName; String typeName = typeof(ConsoleApp.ScriptRunner).FullName; //Throws exception here ScriptRunner scriptRunner = domain.CreateInstanceAndUnwrap(asmName, typeName) as ScriptRunner; } catch (SecurityException se) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(se.Message); } catch (Exception ex) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } } public class ScriptRunner : MarshalByRefObject { public ScriptRunner() { //A breakpoint placed here is never reached.   • How to print a Perl 2-dimensional array?

    - by Matt Pascoe
I am trying to write a simple Perl script that reads a *.csv, places the rows of the *.csv file in a two dimensional array, and then prints on item out of the array and then prints a row of the array. #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; open(CSV, $ARGV[0]) || die("Cannot open the $ARGV[0] file: $!"); my @row; my @table; while(<CSV>) { @row = split(/\s*,\s*/, $_); push(@table, @row); } close CSV || die $!; foreach my $element ( @{ $table[0] } ) { print $element, "\n"; } print "$table[0][1]\n"; When I run this script I receive the following error and nothing prints: Can't use string ("1") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at ./scripts.pl line 16. I have looked in a number of other forums and am still not sure how to fix this issue. Can anyone help me fix this script?

  • The Benefits of Constants

    - by onaclov2000
I understand one of the big deals about constants is that you don't have to go through and update code where that constant is used all over the place. Thats great, but let's say you don't explicitly declare it as a constant. What benefit(s) exist(s) to take a variable that HAPPENS to actually not be changed and make it a constant, will this save on processing, and/or size of code...etc? Basically I have a program that the compiler is saying that a particular variable is not changed and thus can be declared a constant, I just wanted to know what the benefit to adding the constant qualifier to it would be, if it makes no difference then making that change adds no value and thus no point wasting time (this same scenario occurs in more then one place) going back and "fixing" all these variables. Thank you, onaclov

  • struct method linking

    - by James
I'm updating some old code that has several POD structs that were getting zero'd out by memset (don't blame me...I didn't write this part). Part of the update changed some of them to classes that use private internal pointers that are now getting wiped out by the memset. So I added a [non-virtual] reset() method to the various structs and refactored the code to call that instead. One particular struct developed an "undefined reference to `blah::reset()'" error. Changing it from a struct to a class fixed the error. Calling nm on the .o file h, the mangled function names for that method look the same (whether it's a class or a struct). I'm using g++ 4.4.1, on Ubuntu. I hate the thought that this might be a compiler/linker bug, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Am I missing some fundamental difference between structs and classes? I thought the only meaningful ones were the public/private defaults and the way everyone thinks about them.

  • How can I determine if an object or reference has a valid string coercion?

    - by Ether
I've run into a situation (while logging various data changes) where I need to determine if a reference has a valid string coercion (e.g. can properly be printed into a log or stored in a database). There isn't anything in Scalar::Util to do this, so I have cobbled together something using other methods in that library: use strict; use warnings; use Scalar::Util qw(reftype refaddr); sub has_string_coercion { my $value = shift; my $as_string = "$value"; my $ref = ref $value; my $reftype = reftype $value; my $refaddr = sprintf "0x%x", refaddr $value; if ($ref eq $reftype) { # base-type references stringify as REF(0xADDR) return $as_string !~ /^${ref}\(${refaddr}\)$/; } else { # blessed objects stringify as REF=REFTYPE(0xADDR) return $as_string !~ /^${ref}=${reftype}\(${refaddr}\)$/; } } # Example: use DateTime; my $ref1 = DateTime->now; my $ref2 = \'foo'; print "DateTime has coercion: " . has_string_coercion($ref1) . "\n\n"; print "scalar ref has coercion: " . has_string_coercion($ref2) . "\n"; However, I suspect there might be a better way of determining this by inspecting the guts of the variable in some way. How can this be done better?

  • Application compiled by Flex Builder 3 does not trace

    - by Bart van Heukelom
I've built a simple application in Flex Builder 3 with some trace() calls. It's an "ActionScript Project", no MXML or AIR involved. I don't run the app from within Eclipse, I just open the generated html file with Firefox. I'm using the Flash Player 10 Debug version. I've correctly set mm.cnf to log trace output, following the official instructions. A flashlog.txt file is generate in the appropriate location. Despite all that, trace output is not shown in the log file. What am I doing wrong? (I suspect it's a compiler option, but I can find no such option in the project options in FlexBuilder) (If I do run the app from Eclipse, by pressing F11, I can see trace output but only inside Eclipse, not in the log file)

  • Can't find applicationSupportDirectory?

    - by Frost Li
There is always a pre-written function at AppDelegate: (NSString *)applicationSupportDirectory { NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSApplicationSupportDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *basePath = ([paths count] > 0) ? [paths objectAtIndex:0] : NSTemporaryDirectory(); return [basePath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"SyncFile"]; } However, I can't call this method outside this class: id _appDelegate = (SyncFile_AppDelegate *)[[NSApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSLog(@"%@", [_appDelegate applicationSupportDirectory]); The compiler warned me that it can't find method applicationSupportDirectory... Does anyone know what's wrong with my code? Thank you very much!

  • Why does Email::MIME split up my attachment?

  • C# ASP.Net The type or namespace name 'Secure' does not exist in the namespace 'source_extranet'

    - by Louis Russell
Afternoon all, I really need your help as this is a Nightmare! I was earlier having a problem with referencing a 3rd Party Dll (Here) but have overcome this problem and am now having a problem referencing my own classes! Everything seems fine at build with no errors at all but when I go to run the application it comes up with the following Compilation Error: Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Secure' does not exist in the namespace 'source_extranet' (are you missing an assembly reference?) The line that the Error points to this line in the class: source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData newdata = new source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData(); This line of code points to a class in the same folder as the calling code class. I have scoured Google looking for an answer and haven't found anything that points me to an answer to my problem. Any help would be AMAZING!

  • Step-by-step execution for Intel AT&T assembler?

    - by Søren Haagerup
Hello everyone, I'm writing a compiler that converts source code (written in a small imperative programming language) to Intel AT&T 32-bit assembler. I tend to spend a lot of time debugging, because of nasty offset-mistakes etc. in the generated code, and I would like to know if anyone knows of a tool to "walk through" the generated assembler code step-by-step, visualizing what's on the stack etc. I use Ubuntu Linux as my development platform, and I'm comfortable with the terminal -- a GUI-program would be nice though. Does it exist? Or is there a good reason it doesn't (maybe the problem isn't so straightforward..?) If you have good ideas for approaching debugging tasks in assembly code, I'll be glad to hear from you!

  • GCC (ld) option to strip unreferenced data/functions

    - by legends2k
I've written an program which uses a library which has numerous functuions, but I only limited functions from it. GCC is the compiler I use. Once I've created a binary, when I used nm to see the symbols in it, it shows all the unwanted (unreferenced) functions which are never used. How do I removed those unreferenced functions and data from the executable? Is the -s option right? I'm tols that it strips all symbol table and relocation data from the binary, but does this remove the function and data too? I'm not sure on how to verify this too, since after using -s nm doesn't work since it's stripped all sym. table data too.

  • How Can I Check an Object to See its Type and Return A Casted Object

    - by Russ Bradberry
    I have method to which I pass an object. In this method I check it's type and depending on the type I do something with it and return a Long. I have tried every which way I can think of to do this and I always get several compiler errors telling me it expects a certain object but gets another. Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong and guide me in the right direction? What I have tried thus far is below: override def getInteger(obj:Object) = { if (obj.isInstanceOf[Object]) null else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Number]) (obj:Number).longValue() else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Boolean]) if (obj:Boolean) 1 else 0 else if (obj.isInstanceOf[String]) if ((obj:String).length == 0 | (obj:String) == "null") null else try { Long.parse(obj:String) } catch { case e: Exception => throw new ValueConverterException("value \"" + obj.toString() + "\" of type " + obj.getClass().getName() + " is not convertible to Long") } }

  • PoptorootViewController fails then removes all Viewcontrollers

    - by Spyker
Trying to fix a very strange error, i have 3 view controllers that start from the app delegate and push each other accordingly. The 3rd view controller then has a toolbar button that calls the code here: -(void)showEventBrowser; { accelManeger.delegate = nil; NSLog(@"%u",[self.navigationController.viewControllers count]); [self.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:NO]; } This works the first time round but when i come back to this view controller and try again. Firstly it reports that there are 3 view controllers on the stack. It then deallocs the 2nd view controller in the stack and doesnt crash but will not go any further. If i hit the button again it says there are no view controllers on the stack and fails to respond. I have logs for all the viewdid, viewwill, e.t.c in each view controller and there appears to be no odd behaviour. Also no memory warnings from any view controllers. Why would this work once through but not the second time ?

  • Persisting a trie to a file - C

    - by Appu
I have a trie which I am using to do some string processing. I have a simple compiler which generates trie from some data. Once generated, my trie won't change at run time. I am looking for an approach where I can persist the trie in a file and load it effectively. I have looked at sqllite to understand how they are persisting b-treebut their file format looks bit advanced and I may not need all of those. It'd be helpful if someone can provide some ideas to persist and read the trie. I am programming using C.

  • typeid , dynamic casting (upcast) and templates

    - by David
Hello, I have few questions regarding dynamic casting , typeid() and templates 1) How come typeid does not require RTTI ? 2) dynamic_cast on polymorphic type: When I do downcast (Base to Derive) with RTTI - compilation passes When RTTI is off - I get a warning (warning C4541: 'dynamic_cast' used on polymorphic type 'CBase' with /GR-; unpredictable behavior may result) When I do upcast (Derive to Base), with or without RTTI - compilation passes smoothly What I don't understand is why when I do upcast and RTTI is off - I don't get any warning/error! 3) dynamic_cast on NON polymorphic type: When I do downcast with or without RTTI - compilation fails (error C2683: 'dynamic_cast' : 'CBase' is not a polymorphic type) BUT When I do upcast with or without RTTI - compilation passes smoothly. How come on upcast on NON polymorphic type passes w/o RTTI ? 4) Does 'inline' in front of a template function has any effect, i.e. when the compiler compiles the function and see it is 'inline' it will actually treat the function as inline or it is ignored? Thank you very much for the assistance David

  • TAPI App on 64bits OS

    - by mvg
I have a TAPI Application (Delphi 2007) working on 32bits OSs (XP, Vista, Win7). The TAPI server is 32bits Windows 2003 SP2. While TAPI APP is running on 64bits OS, I can connect to the line but i cannot get TAPI messages on my App. I can see messages have arrived on machine through Tracing tapisrv but the WaitForSingleObjectEx to the event handle (returned by lineInitializeEx) is never signaled (always returns WAIT_TIMEOUT). I've also tried C++ code and 64bits compiler but the 64bits App had the same behavior (except not even starting on 32bits OS :-) ). Is there any ideas how i can receive the TAPI messages to my App??? EDIT: Well, it seems that only the messages regarding incoming calls are cut. If (while App is running) i execute "tcmsetup /c /d" (=disable TAPI) then i DO receive LINE_CLOSE and LINE_REMOVE messages. Then, if i execute "tcmsetup /c server_name", i DO get the LINE_CREATE message. I can lineOpen the new line provided but still CANNOT get LINE_APPNEWCALL, LINE_CALLSTATE etc

  • Why Automatically implemented properties must define both get and set accessors.

    - by Nasser Hajloo
When we define a property like public string Name {get; set;} dot net can make our properties code. but when we use public string Name {get;} public string Name {set;} we face with 'Hajloo.SomeThing.PropertyName.set' must declare a body because it is not marked abstract or extern. Automatically implemented properties must define both get and set accessors. Actualy whay compiler can't determine the property and make code automatically ? what's happen ?

  • Why doesn't Perl file glob() work outside of a loop in scalar context?

    - by Rob
According to the Perl documentation on file globbing, the <*> operator or glob() function, when used in a scalar context, should iterate through the list of files matching the specified pattern, returning the next file name each time it is called or undef when there are no more files. But, the iterating process only seems to work from within a loop. If it isn't in a loop, then it seems to start over immediately before all values have been read. From the Perl docs: In scalar context, glob iterates through such filename expansions, returning undef when the list is exhausted. http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/glob.html However, in scalar context the operator returns the next value each time it's called, or undef when the list has run out. http://perldoc.perl.org/perlop.html#I/O-Operators Example code: use warnings; use strict; my $filename; # in scalar context, <*> should return the next file name # each time it is called or undef when the list has run out $filename = <*>; print "$filename\n"; $filename = <*>; # doesn't work as documented, starts over and print "$filename\n"; # always returns the same file name $filename = <*>; print "$filename\n"; print "\n"; print "$filename\n" while $filename = <*>; # works in a loop, returns next file # each time it is called In a directory with 3 files...file1.txt, file2.txt, and file3.txt, the above code will output: file1.txt file1.txt file1.txt file1.txt file2.txt file3.txt Note: The actual perl script should be outside the test directory, or you will see the file name of the script in the output as well. Am I doing something wrong here, or is this how it is supposed to work?

  • mingw32-make : "Input line too long" issue

    - by hjsblogger

Since the Makefile has many include paths, it exceeds the buffer size of 8K that the cmd can handle [Ref - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830473/EN-US/due to which the compilation results in "input line too long" issue. I wanted to know the following - What would be the best way to optimize the Makefile as I have already removed unwanted compiler switches, include paths etc. Is there any way we can put all the INCLUDE paths in one .txt file and import it in the Makefile.I could not find any mingw32 documentation for the same. Any other inputs/hints/reference links are most welcome. Thanks, -HJSblogger

  • wamp cannot load mysqli extension

    - by localhost
WAMP installed fine, no problems, BUT... When going to phpMyAdmin, I get the error from phpMyAdmin as follows: "Cannot load mysqli extension. Please check your PHP configuration". Also, phpMyAdmin documentation explains this error message as follows: "To connect to a MySQL server, PHP needs a set of MySQL functions called "MySQL extension". This extension may be part of the PHP distribution (compiled-in), otherwise it needs to be loaded dynamically. Its name is probably mysql.so or php_mysql.dll. phpMyAdmin tried to load the extension but failed. Usually, the problem is solved by installing a software package called "PHP-MySQL" or something similar." Finally, the apache_error.log file has the following PHP warnings (see the mySQL warning): PHP Warning: Zend Optimizer does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of Zend Optimizer in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: Zend Platform does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of Zend Platform in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: Zend Debug Server does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of Zend Debug Server in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: gd wrapper does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of gd wrapper in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: java wrapper does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of java wrapper in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: mysql wrapper does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of mysql wrapper in Unknown on line 0 So, for some reason PHP is not recognizing the mysql extension. • Why 2 GB memory limit when running in 64 bit Windows ?

    - by Roland Bengtsson
I'm a member in a team that develop a Delphi application. The memory requirements are huge. 500 MB is normal but in some cases it got out of memory exception. The memory allocated in that cases is typically between 1000 - 1700 MB. We of course want 64-bits compiler but that won't happen now (and if it happens we also must convert to unicode, but that is another story...). My question is why is there a 2 GB memory limit per process when running in a 64 bit environment. The pointer is 32 bit so I think 4 GB would be the right limit. I use Delphi 2007.

  • How Should I Print Documentation from Google Code?

    - by peter.newhook
Google does a decent job of documenting their API (like Closure http://code.google.com/closure/compiler/docs/overview.html) but I find it hard to read because it's broken into such short pages. I like to leaf through my docs and read it on paper. Has anyone found a good way to print from the documentation on Google Code. It could be a PDF, or even just a long page with lots of content. Please note, I'm not talking about the Wikis in the Open Source side of Google Code. I'm referring to the API docs published by Google.

  • Yield In VB.NET

    - by MagicKat
C# has the keyword called yield. VB.NET lacks this keyword. I am curious how some of the VB programmers have gotten around the lack of this keyword. Do you implement your own iterator class? Or do you try and code to avoid the need of an iterator? The yield keyword does force the compiler to do some coding behind the scenes. http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2008/08/12/8849519.aspx is a good example of that.
